901  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Sleeping Account and how to Overcome it in Bitcoin as a Beginner on: January 16, 2024, 05:41:53 AM
It is recorded and observe that many beginners fall into sleeping account due to many errors and inability to keep proper record and their personal data.
What is sleeping account: Is any account which activity is below required standard of operations. In 2023 notable dormant sleeping Bitcoin transaction rises totaling a staggered number of 370BTC valued at 958 million based on current BTC exchange rate. It's observed that this account lack operation and some cause associated to it  is not far from lack of proper documentation of personal details to the account.
The steps below can help beginners to maintain standard operation
1. Keep proper record of wallet or exchange used
2. Ensure that your email, password and private key are stored in safe place
3. Keep investing and transacting always
You can add your for proper information and reduction of sleeping account
I think you have a very wrong approach to what you are trying to portray because I know vividly that some Bitcoin owners have deliberately left their wallet which is filled with coins left like that without transacting the major thing here is to have the seed phrase and private check and well kept so you can access the wallet whenever you want.

I don't know if you have actually come across discussion here or glanced through the forum without hitting the word HODLing, I mean it's bitcoiners deliberately leaving their wallet and coin inactive avoiding anything that would make them spend or transact their coins so as to add value to the coin when the price reaches new heights. Although most cases of this kind of holders are big time Bitcoin owner that have lots of Bitcoin in their wallet.

902  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Be careful when doing transaction on: January 16, 2024, 05:29:55 AM
My fellow naija board greet you all!

This post  actually for everyone because no one can outgrown mistakes. Was just on my WhatsApp there's I joined back then concerning airdrop and other paying update so the admin of the group posted a screenshot a friend sent to him, in the group. So the screen shot was a conversation between him and a friend, his friend where telling him how he received 6 BnB which worth $1819.5 from a unknown wallet. And was doing the day ETF was approved so coin undergo a surge that moment so the price was bigger than now. You can see that the amount is not a small amount of money. The thing is that I'm pretty sure that the person that send that BnB made a mistakes in its public key (wallet address) when was doing the transaction. Just imagine cash you work for hours, days, or months you just lose it in a blink of a seconds sending it to a wrong address if it was normal bank he would have ask for refund but I don't think if cryptocurrencies transaction still work  that way.

Please always be careful and always do any transaction with cautious, crypto might disciving you that the amount you loss might be small in your eyes but ones you turn it to our Nigeria currency Omo you go know say nor be small money you loss so ma people make we try our best to keep our asset safe.
Well I understand the fact that no one is above error and thats why it's always good to copy the address of whom you want to send to and simply paste it and moreover you can't just write someone wallet address your without making mistake. I don't think I have seen people make mistake like this anymore at a large ratio because I think error message will pop up if the address you want to send to has a mistake especially with Bitcoin transaction I have faced such error times without number especially when you mistook one coin address for another.

I think maybe the person sent through internally from an exchange maybe he sent to the wrong ID number especially when it comes to binance exchange transaction it's so very easy to make such mistake and send to another person wallet, I know this cause I almost did it once if not for the fact that am always vigilant and always crosscheck the reference to where am sending my coins, I wouldn't accidentally gifted someone free USDT coins of worth 80$.
903  Other / Off-topic / Re: Know when to stop on: January 16, 2024, 05:11:45 AM
One of the most important factor of a successful gambler is to know when to stop, most gamblers expecially the addictive type don't even know what is stop when it comes to gambling. So it's very important to;
* Stop when your losing is now getting to you.

* Stop when you are now feeling as is you can't do without gambling.

* Stop when you have a big winning, by channeling the money somewhere else so you won't lose it back to gambling.

* Stop when you are not even winning at all, it's not your thing.

* When your losing is weighing you down, stop and restrategize .

These facts and tip are all correct because these are the very time that the gambler is at his peak of his gambling session and all the listed period are definitely the period when the gambler feels he definitely needs to continue because he just want to keep himself going and don't want in what reason whatsoever break the chain that he would be enjoying at these moments of him playing the gamble. The one I hate the most and even causes more depression is not being able to stop when whatever you are playing is just resulting to a lost but still yet it's impossible for you to stop the act.

905  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Beginner looking for a guide | A perfect Start for a Newbie! on: January 15, 2024, 10:54:46 PM
Hey, Bitcointalk fam! I am a newbie and I read somewhere, that someone said most people use this forum for good earning kindly guide me where I should start, is it possible that you earned a good amount from this forum?
Also, let me know how I should get into this to earn a good amount through the forum.
Someone on this forum let me know firstly you have to tell others about your services which I provided online so I went to the Economy ( marketplace) (Services) board and provided my services and explained it in a very easy format so everyone understand easily and then posted it in a thread.
Kindly guide me, what is the next step to take?

Hmm, in a hurry to earn? Well a simple advice mate try and understand the whole concept of things here first before ever thinking of anything like enjoying the previlledge that comes with forum. It's true that the forum gives you opportunity that can earn you a few bucks but there is also the service board that member who are selling some of service go atleast you can find some few persons  who are willing to render or should I say patronize your service depending on how you actually charge .
906  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: How many of you can write well using your local language? on: January 15, 2024, 10:34:48 PM
We don de advocate for the board say make we de write more with pigin as e be say na the general language when every nija person fit speak well but e still get plenty people when no de fit use pigin write as e be say some of them don de used to normal good English.

The average English speaking man fit speak and write him English fluently without stress as e be say na wetin them know as their language right from when dem de small.

But when it comes to an average Nigerian, we know say most of us fit speak our Hausa, Igbo, yoruba or Efik well but when it comes to writing in those our local language eh, e de always de very difficult.

Like me eh, I fit speak my dialect well oh but when it comes to reading an article that is written in my dialect or even trying to write an article in my dialect eh, na suffer I go de suffer oh, I fit even manage read small for my local dialect but to fit write de hard me aswr.

how easy e de for you to fit read and write using your local dialect?

How we fit improve on being comfortable in the use of our local dialect?  I mean either reading or writing with it.
This our country itself is filled with lots of language diversity and so many of these language are minority to the very core and if I can recall I don't actually think that most of these language are even taught in schools or even added to their work in academics except for the most genuine and well recognize ones. And that's one reason why most of these language aren't really knownable when it comes to people being able to write and understand the meaning.
907  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Life is precious on: January 14, 2024, 10:39:05 PM
People must understand this in life that everybody get their time. The people wey you see wey dey build houses and buy cars so you know what they have gone through in life? Do you know their stories? The heavy challenge and temptation?  Ask yourself if you go fit bear wetin them see before now wey dem never get wealth. Make we no just conclude say na your own worst pass when you see people wey don make ahm for life. Everybody get their time , so just know say your own time dey come too.
That's how life itself was designed because everything and everyone must not be successful at the same time so when its not yet your time, you shouldn't be worried but what you should do is just to keep your head up and work really hard so that you can be successful because eventually one day the circle will rotate back to you and you will end up regretting if you have already did something crazy.
908  Economy / Gambling / Re: JustCasino.io | Get the Best Crypto Casino Experience on: January 14, 2024, 09:00:36 PM

VPN and crypto should be a solution for lower middle class gamblers to be able to play on this platform. My country is on the list of prohibited countries, but registration can be done smoothly using a VPN and my Telegram account.

And for high stakes users, I can't give you the best advice regarding this location restriction issue.

There should be no problems with deposits and withdrawals if I use BTC or LTC to play the game on justcasino.

If you are from a restricted country, you should not register and play there using a VPN. Not only in this casino but also in every casino where your country is restricted. Because at any point casino can request a KYC, and after you submit the documents if they see you are from a restricted country they may not pay you even your deposit for violating their terms. So there is no reason to risk your funds by playing at a casino where you are restricted.
JustCasino is VPN-friendly. However, I have been informed that after reading all these responses, the team decided to make some adjustments.

Thanks LM for the clarification because alot of users have packed low in terms of registration because of the limitations to the country that's are supposedly restricted but letting the public know that the  casino is VPN friendly will lift alot of doubt on users trying to use the casino because alot of persons have been skeptical about using the casino but on knowing this I think many will have another approach now.
909  Other / Meta / Re: The effect the mixer ban has had on the forum. on: January 14, 2024, 08:42:43 PM
~cut~

I think bitcointalk will not die even if there are no more campaigns here. Bitcoin users are already ideological and this is where Bitcoin was born. Even though I haven't followed the campaign for a long time, the discussions on this forum are quite interesting, I'm still here and not yet interested in altcointalk. I don't know the future...

Apart from that, this forum is also not intended to make a profit from advertising so it doesn't matter if there is a slight decrease in traffic because maybe this forum is dedicated only to supporting bitcoin, not for profit like altcointalk
Even with all that you have said, we still can't deny the fact that signature campaign here are the major cause of the high traffic and I could bet that if anything was to stop the participation in signature campaigns then the traffic would certainly be dull compare to how it was before. Although I know that this community has gain so much population and popularity and also I agree that discussion here are on another level but the truth is that signature campaign are major core of its much high traffic and that's the truth.
910  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't trust social media on: January 14, 2024, 08:16:52 PM

So the plan of this guy is to leverage on the ignorance of a lot of those who cannot setup their wallet in order to scam them? Actually, I don't understand how he will be able to entice people to send money to him, and what he plan to do with the screenshot, or it could be those processes are just to make his dubious scheme appear legit. Apart from saying he will create and fund wallet for those who cannot do it by themselves, this being a red flag, I do no see how he want to get those who can. He requested for a screenshot of their balance and not sensitive information... maybe he will get to the stage of requesting for sensible information.

Personally, I don't follow these fakes on social media. Those who promise huge returns are scammers because if there is anything like that, they will not come to social media, instead they will share it among their families and friends. People should just be careful out there.
It's all a process scam and he starts off preying on the weak and naive at first and then maybe he will move to another stage of them showing their balance making it look simple and plain but as they go deeper he takes advantage and moves to a more sensitive part since the person is already cooperative, he will focus on that till he gets to where he's supposed to land. This type of thing only affect those that know their way around the crypto space because you won't tell someone who has been here and has been tutored and have read so many documentary here about scams project will still fall for such naive and silly scam.
911  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will you be worried or comfortable seeing your elderly mother gambling? on: January 14, 2024, 08:09:04 PM
Well this is not a new scene to me because it's practically what I see all the time over here although the type of game is different because over here the most played form of gambling where you see all these elderly women would be the lotto game that's involves prediction of numbers, I am really familiar with the game but it's normally played by elderly people here and that aslo include the female gender too and another form of gambling you would see old lady's play alot here would be the pool game .
912  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Why don't you own Bitcoin ? on: January 14, 2024, 07:02:26 PM
What is the reason you still don't own Bitcoin?

I don't want to be the kind of person who preaches Bitcoin or forces anybody into getting it but, we're all advocates here so...

Most times, when people are asked this question even before you hear things like "It's cause of the risks" or " I don't know how to trade" or "What if I lose my money", you'd hear something like " I don't even have the money". Don't worry, I'm not going into getting a job or doing campaigns on the forum here. I'm going into digital skills.

You may have heard of a lot of ways of making money, and digital skills aren't all that new to most of us. If no one has told you yet, my guy, please go and learn skills. Not just anyhow skills, learn digital skills. That's literally the future of the world.

We started off in hunting, then moved to agriculture, to industrialization and now the world is gradually evolving into a digital one. When people complain that they got fired from work, I start to wonder, no one would actually fire or replace a person who is evolving and developing themselves every day, learning more and more skills every day. You have to be at the top of the chain to survive.

Back to Bitcoin, money gotten from digital skills can be easily invested. This is literally the biggest investment you can make for yourself. Invest in digital skills this year and watch yourself develop every day.

Remember and always remember, make you no gree for anybody this year ooo Cheesy
Thanks for the heads up mate and this is exactly what I intend doing this year as I have already started taking classes under cyber security as this is one of the hot field of the ever growing digital global world. The best thing you can do for yourself is to advance in every way possible because change is a constant and it's better you have a positive change. The world today is filled with lots of opportunities for someone to actually make an end means  but we in third world countries are failing to see this as many are still dependent on jobs that you would work  for someone instead.
913  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The hidden truth about Bitcoin on: January 14, 2024, 06:50:49 PM
Just as there is a difference in profit making between a regular farmer and farmer who wait to farm only in raining or wet season so is Bitcoin to them that invest regularly without waiting for a fall in price.many time I hear people said they are waiting for a drop in price before they invest, the common example of Bitcoin fall in price is like a car deriver who uses speed of 120 for forward movement using same speed in backwards movement is impossible, waiting for a fall on your speculation is impossible. No Fisher man wait for the wave of the river or sea before casting it's net, because if they do there will be no fish to catch. As the river flow same they follow. There is no right time than now let no man deceive you start from any level you found yourself, it's a hidden truth about Bitcoin.

The thing is that people who actually want to buy Bitcoin now feel that the price has gone too high for them to buy but they don't understand that the more you wait the more things can get twisted although there are some Bitcoin investor who already holds Bitcoin but tend add more Bitcoin to their holding through the watch of the market waiting for the dip and reason being you get more value of Bitcoin when the price has dip but we can't say same for newcomer who haven't actually had any coins, for these kind of persons waiting for the dip isn't also a bad idea but in periods like this how low do you think the price can get before you start buying so it's better to start your journey through buying little by little through the DCA strategy and buy big whenever you have the window of opportunity seeing that the price has gone abit lower so you get more coins value.
914  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Just HODL on: January 13, 2024, 10:32:27 PM
The thing is everyone wants to become trader without knowing the key note and important aspect concerning trading, that is why most people easily lose their money at cause of wanting to make huge profits or to double their money will result them to entire lost. Sticking to bitcoin is more advisable maybe they can gradually engage themselves with DCA, with DCA they can be to accumulate whatever amount of bitcoin they wish to than involving in trading and I still encourage holding.
There’s no wrong if you want to trade as long as you have what it takes to be a good trader, but if you are still a beginner who just wish to make quick profits, then let me tell you that trading is not suitable for you. Settle with hodling, the profits are still promising as long as you have the patience and persistency to hold, and the consistency to DCA every time you make a spare money from your source of income.
Not everyone has that patience to actually HODL and that's why they always see trading as a quick option to double their sats and the worse thing is that people who trade actually make it look simple as if it's an easy thing and this is what influences the newbie to see trading as some kind of luck game in which you can play and get lucky to be successful but trading is a totally different game because you will have to learn and be atleast a pro  before ever thinking of making profits on a steady out of trading.
915  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin [BTC] Price Could Reach $1.5 Million by 2030 Says Cathie Wood on: January 13, 2024, 10:26:40 PM
CEO Of ARK Invest Said in an Interview with CNBC Yesterday (Thursday) that Bitcoin Could Reach $1.5 Million by 2030.
Previously she Predicted about Bitcoin and Said that Bitcoin Could Reach $1 million.

Ark Invest is one of those asset-managing Firms that got one of the Bitcoin ETFs..

Source:
https://www.coindesk.com/markets/2024/01/11/cathie-wood-sees-bitcoin-price-reaching-15m-by-2030-after-etf-approval/
and
https://coinmarketcap.com/community/articles/65a00143f4756d5768d055e9/
Thats some crazy amount and I know everyone holding some coins wouldn't mind if the price can sky rocket to that amount while the other sets of person not yet holding will be praying for the price to drop low so they can actually buy these dips. Bitcoin reaching 1.5million by 2030 is a very wild prediction I must say but that would have been the case a few years back in the early stages of Bitcoin when it was down to a dollar and someone predicted that it would reach 64k in a decay time  so nothing is impossible when it comes to the market value and price of Bitcoin.
916  Other / Meta / Re: was gambling board restricted from merits? on: January 13, 2024, 10:19:01 PM
But as for me, I do not care. I post more on these boards but I am still able to get some merits, but mostly not from the gambling board. If you think you want to help, you can apply for merit source because of gambling board. It is likely that theymos might make you a merit source when theymos is choosing new merit sources.
You think I will be accepted just like that 😂
After series of application pending to become merits source?
Though I can't limit myself but I know there may be other members who might applied for this position so even though theymos must give it should those who had already applied before me except he has his own ways of accepting approving and pointing new merits source. I don't mind if he makes me merits source then I will look towards local and gambling board.
Well if you don't mind then why don't you drop your application to be in the waiting list since you already said he might give or make those that first applied merit source before meeting up new ones and if you wait around then the line just keeps getting longer Grin. I would like to see that the gambling board has some merit source focus there although their are some few thread that are merited by others users but the alarming rate of unmerited posts is far beyond.
917  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What would it be like owning a Bitcoin in 2024? on: January 13, 2024, 10:12:07 PM

Although I have not yet owned Bitcoin, I understand that investing in Bitcoin is a great idea but as like others, it is not a 100% guarantee. And if owned should be stored in a non custodian wallet for safety, I would love to begin my Bitcoin journey and appreciate lots of ideas and advice from this family.

So what is your take about this, would you advise on owning Bitcoin in 2024 or do you see it as a total risk?

You seem to follow the crypto world a lot without owning any bitcoins yourself. It's great that you have such an interest and keep learning new things. But why don't you take next step and start investing someone money? I hope you are not waiting for Bitcoin to drop back down to 100 USD, because those days are over and are never going to come back. It's very unrealistic that we are ever going to see a price below 10,000 USD. Just assume all the people who jump quickly to buy new coins below a big level like 20,000 USD. There are so many opportunistic investors that would snatch up cheap bitcoins. Which is also my goal for 2024, keep buying more bitcoins as much as possible and build up my crypto portfolio.
Well am not surprised about this because alot of person like you are outside and some of them are actually due to the factor of procrastinating that they are going to buy when the price reaches certain level and when the price does reaches they still fall to buy while others is due to lack of unpreparedness as they don't intend to having plans but feel they can just buy but investing Bitcoin needs proper planning so I will also encourage to stir up some moral and certain mind to atleast secure some stats.
918  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Petroleum price on: January 13, 2024, 09:51:02 PM
What is the faith of Nigeria's in the price of petroleum in 2024?

You deh worry about fuel price for Nigeria, you know how much diesel and kerosene them be. Abi na cooking gas own we go talk? Those ones deh more expensive than fuel weh you deh talk self. This government and hardship for the masses na something else. Our people are suffering. Na God go save this country so.
My brother things dey spoil every blessed day by day and I wonder if a go actually get time wey all these hardship fo stop because like the country don condition so many to adjust their way of life and the one way dey pain again na the price of dollar wey dey rise every day by day and nothing wey our government dey do to actually fit this high of the dollar against our naira although many people wey dey here fit dey pray make the dollar dey rise as dem dey get funds as dollar but dat go be selfishness because the rate of people way dey suffer plenty pass you wey no get problem.
919  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: The enemy of success on: January 13, 2024, 09:35:51 PM
Procrastination is like a slow disease that destroys your mind and plans because you can make up your mind to actually do anything for yourself and at the moment of you procrastinating you can never get hold yourself until the deeds and wound have already been created. Anyone who frequently procrastinates never actually gets anything done and believe me your life plans will be deterred to a great and all your plans will be backwards and at end you might just end up useless.

E be like say the long waited period don reach abi , make we still dey expect?
As e be now since some things occur, we don experience some kind bullish market,
I believe say some people dey use this opportunity dey cash out style style and dey wait for opportunity to enter the market when e dey bearish.
But as d matter be now,  una still dey hope say the market go still bullish after the having just as e always dey happen after some months after the halving. This matter make we getha reason am

The bull run is actually the most talked about event now in the crypto space and many people are just so eager to see their coins pump up due to how the period is so close but it may suprised us that we will have to wait abit more as the year is just starting although I know that the SEC approving the Bitcoin ETF gives it a better chance for the market to pump up but I feel even at the market still needs time to gather momentum to start pump.
