901  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Notification that you should never click on: October 06, 2023, 07:22:26 PM
These days most messages that come with links are flagged as spam unless you tag them as "not spam". Once a message comes from an unknown sender and it comes with a link, never click that link. It's best if you just block the sender to be safe.
Even if the message comes from a verified account or website, don't click it as long as you are not expecting any email from those sites.

They come with juicy offers and all. Don't fall victim. The links may be telegram or Whatsapp links. It may be emails, SMS, or social media messages. Ignore all of them and block them.
902  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 06, 2023, 02:54:51 PM
we can not blame Man United performance when they played against Galatasaray. the defeat was not entirely Onana fault and here I not defend him, but I am just saying my opinion, some people are just speculating from what is being discussed without looking at the whole situation and the defeat.

This is something I have always said. Onana may not be elite or be in very good form at the moment but blaming him for every goal Manchester United concede is very illogical.
Against Galatasaray, the defense was so awful.
Dalot refused to tackle well for the first goal United conceded. The defense is in shambles. Any goalkeeper in the world would still concede as much as Onana at Man United.

If you watch Porto vs Barcelona you'll see the work of a good defense. Porto should have scored in that game but the Barcelona defense was very good and that made the keeper keep a clean sheet.

Another thing is the Man United midfield. Defending starts from the midfield. A poor midfield will make the defense suffer when a defense is suffering, they'll surely concede goals.
I've been saying these things forever. United needs to work on their squad. They don't have a squad that can fight for the league or the Champions League. They will not even make the top 4 in the league.
903  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Hardwork pays not luck! on: October 06, 2023, 02:42:26 PM
I am not a bounty hunter but I can relate a bit to what you're saying.
I can't say I'm a lucky person because I always have to work hard for what I earn. I have never gotten anything without a little effort.
I believe so much in hard work, but the thing is we also have to work smart.
As we're putting in those long hours into our craft, career, and business, we also have to be smart about it. We have to think of ways to improve. Just working hard alone might not cut it.

I also believe we need a little bit of luck somehow. But if it doesn't come, no problem. We'll work things out ourselves.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Europa League 2023/24 Season on: October 05, 2023, 10:01:45 PM
Brighton is really not finding it easy even after they had started very well in the English premier league they haven't been able to replicate that form in the Europa league this just shows how difficult the European international club football can be different from the domestic league football.

All things considered, I'll say they tried to come from behind and get a point. Losing 2-0 at halftime away from home can be demoralizing, but they still fought hard.
Brighton plays well, they create chances and a team like that will find their footing. They're not a top table club so let's not expect them to be at the top of the table but they will surely find themselves.

They were also cautious w bit today because they play Liverpool this weekend. After being humiliated by Aston Villa, they'll want to bounce back against Liverpool, which is an even more difficult fixture.

Speaking of Liverpool, it's obvious they don't underrate Brighton that's why you can see how their squad was rotated today. They fought hard and got a goal from a rebound last in the first half and got a second late in the second half as well.
Liverpool didn't play particularly convincing, but that's because of the heavy rotation of the squad.
905  Economy / Speculation / Re: The crypto market has changed and I think its a sign of mass adoption on: October 05, 2023, 09:39:51 PM
But bitcoin<altcoin is what I have felt in the adoption. Surely bitcoin has its place among the veterans of this community but the younger generation getting their first touch of crypto usually ends up with a shitcoin in their wallet. This may have a bad impact on their trading or investing career in the long run. Completely my own opinion though.

The first time a lot of people heard about crypto it was mostly about an altcoin. This is due to the marketing of these altcoins. They spend a lot in marketing and they know how to recruit people to their cause. Some people do not understand how it works but they have wallets and a particular coin in them just because it was sold to them and made to believe that it would make them rich.
Every day I see new coins that are being marketed on my X (twitter) timeline.

The popularity of crypto skyrocketed during the last bull run. In that period all people could talk about was crypto and how it could make them rich. The dip happened and a lot of them separated themselves from crypto. This is mainly because they either invested in the wrong coin or didn't have a clear idea of what crypto is.
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My difficult transition to the bitcoin standard (almost) on: October 05, 2023, 03:15:10 PM
I was listening to a Bitcoin podcast a couple of weeks ago and they said something like "If you're in a country where human right is respected to a certain degree, you won't fully grasp how vital Bitcoin has been to people living in a bad situation in other countries." They used Palestine as an example and how the government of Israel controls and regulates the way they spend money and what they spend money on.

As someone who has seen his government use banks to fight its opposition, this is something I can relate to.
A few years ago, people spoke up about the injustice and inhumane treatment people in the country received. The government fought them in different ways but the one that was very interesting to me was how they used the banking system to quench these people.
Aside from declaring these people "enemies of the state", they froze all their bank accounts, and their cards, and even went as far as freezing the accounts of some of their loved ones just so they couldn't get help.
I knew one of such people, I wasn't close to him but I knew him enough to know what he going through.

When I see governments fighting against Bitcoin, it doesn't surprise me, but it just goes on to prove the point that the government is a corrupt institution. Such governments have their foot on the neck of it's citizens and Bitcoin might be a way to lose that grip a bit.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What encouraged your continuity in Bitcoin investment and Bitcointalk forum? on: October 05, 2023, 09:45:05 AM
I’d like to know what motivates you to invest in a speculative asset like Bitcoin?
Bitcoin is a currency that on its own doesn't get affected by inflation. This means inflation doesn't reduce its value. This is one reason why I'm always for Bitcoin. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, there has been so much inflation and my country is not exempted. Now I found something that can help me keep my savings from being eaten through by inflation.

There is also the fact that I can send and receive money overseas without any issue whatsoever. The last time I received money from overseas was not practically stressful but I had to rely on people who could fraud me and get away with it, luckily they didn't but that's a different story. So I do not want to be in that situation again.
I'm not a control freak but I like the idea of being in control of my stuff, especially money.

Aside from the fact that I get to save my money somewhere where even if inflation is at an 80% increase the value of my money remains the same with converted to fiat, I also stand a chance to make a profit on that savings. Where this works both ways (meaning I could either lose or win), I think I like my chances with an investment.

What is the driving force that encourages your continuity in the Bitcointalk forum?
I have to keep up with the latest on Bitcoin, where better to do that than an actual Bitcoin forum?
There are many things I ordinary wouldn't have read on if not for the forum. I see stuff on here sometimes that intrigue me so I'll have to go and find more and read more for myself. Without knowing it, I'm increasing my knowledge, no matter how little it might seem.
This is a place I get to gain so much information and knowledge while also getting little money from signature campaign. It's an interesting place to be for real.

who do you listen to in the forum and study to keep your conviction solid?

I don't think I have any particular person or people I listen to on here. I just research more on things I see here that I don't understand. That way I know if the person is right or not from my point of view.
It's not a cult that you just take in whatever the top or someone says.
I know what I believe to be right, that's my conviction. I'm very self-critical so I poke holes in my own beliefs to see if I'm right where I stand or not. If I'm convinced, then you have to prove beyond reasonable doubt why you feel I'm wrong. I'm open-minded.
908  Other / Off-topic / Re: If you are becoming a billionaire in 2025,buying a large ship should not be goal on: October 04, 2023, 11:22:21 PM
With the little you make how much have you impacted to humanity in your own little way? Or you're waiting to become a billionaire first? "It's the little things". If you can't help humanity in your own little way when you're not rich, you have no right telling the rich how they should spend their money.
There are a lot of things to volunteer for. There are community services you can do without spending a penny. But we don't do it.
Simply tell a person how good their work is and how they should keep it up might make their day. A simple kindness to a stranger might go a long way to that for that person, but we see those things are things that don't matter. All we care about is what billionaires do.
We all have a role to play. You don't have to be a billionaire to impact lives.

A lot of us chose to be rude and mean. People can't even approach us. It's like being rude is the new cool these days but we want a better world? Everybody is going through one shit or the other, so the world would be a way worse I'd every body takes out his problem on the next person.
Just be a kind and loving person.
909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2023/24 on: October 04, 2023, 10:22:45 AM
Real Madrid and Barcelona will continue to compete until the end of the season and in the transfer season there will also be many changes for one of the top teams. If Real Madrid can bring in Mbappe, I am pretty sure Madrid will firmly dominate La Liga.

There was a time when Real Madrid had C. Ronaldo, Ozil, Di Maria, Ramos, Pepe, Benzema, Xabi Alonso, Casillas, and Marcelo were all at their peak and they did not dominate La Liga but somehow you believe with Mbappe they would dominate La Liga?
Mbappe is a great player. Some might argue he's the best winger in Europe right now and I might agree but saying Madrid would dominate La Liga just because of Mbappe is a different thing.
PSG have not convincingly dominated Ligue I with Mbappe, talk more of dominating La Liga with Madrid when Barcelona isn't sleeping.
I would love to see Mbappe in the La Liga though because it's obvious his career is not heading anywhere in the French league.
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: October 04, 2023, 10:08:30 AM
We shouldn't put all the blame on Onana. I agree it's his responsibility. Because, to be honest, MU's start was not favorable. Everyone is at fault for bringing the team down. Onana's responsibility may be greater than that of the players. If he makes a mistake, he must pay the price immediately.

If you watch Manchester United vs Galatasaray yesterday you'll see that only the penalty was truly Onana's fault. He was not decent but the mistake he made that led to the goal was the penalty. It was a wrong pass.
Other than that, none of the other goals was his fault. The first goal, instead of Dalot to defend well was busy accompanying the striker. Onana is not so bad that he'll be sorely responsible for Man United's downfall.

The defense and midfield of Manchester United is very average and until they work on that they'll continue to suffer. De Gea would have suffered the same fate if he was still at United. A lot needs to be done in Manchester United but they're hell-bent on blaming the keeper for everything.
911  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop discouraging people from Bitcoin... on: October 04, 2023, 09:54:20 AM
I think you're taking it out of context. Nobody just outrightly tells people that "Bitcoin is not for newbies". Instead, they tell them that it takes a lot of skills and they have to learn.
As a newbie, just getting into Bitcoin and starting trading without any knowledge of trading is like nose-diving from a high heel. It would certainly end badly.

So what they are trying to say is that as a newbie you should learn first before trading. It's not just for newbies but everybody. Before you go into anything at all try and learn first.
912  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 03, 2023, 10:11:23 PM
Copenhagen's resistance to Bayern Munich was quite strong. Even Copenhagen's struggle for the ball was able to make things difficult for Bayern. On the other hand, they play quite well at attacking each other. Initially I thought that the match would end in a draw if it continued like that. However, in the 83rd minute, Mathys Thel made a surprise with his goal which put Bayern ahead until the end.

Manchester United have put themselves under a lot of pressure now by not winning Galatasaray.
Man United play Copenhagen away next and it is a must-win game if they're to keep their hopes of qualifying alive. With what Copenhagen played against Bayern Munich, I won't be surprised if Man United doesn't win that match.

Copenhagen were really good, way better than they played in their opening match against Galatasaray. I would love to see how they would do against Manchester United.
If Man United fail to win they're halfway out of the competition because I don't think they'll be able to win Galatasaray in Turkey or Bayern Munich.
913  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Will The USD (and military) remain a Global force for at least 5 more years? on: October 03, 2023, 10:01:41 PM
Are you just pondering about it, or you really believe the US is in so much shit that they would no longer be a global force in the near future?

If you really think that then you have to think again. The United States will always be top force economically and in terms of military power for a very, very long time.

If the dollar collapse, it would affect all part of the economy making the money spent on the military smaller and therefore reducing the military might.
You can't have a poor economy and have the best or one of the best militaries in the world. Infact, no sector can be world class if the economy is poor.
914  Economy / Economics / Re: Do we truly need cbdc when bitcoin already exist? on: October 03, 2023, 04:54:43 PM
CBDC is just a centralized form of Bitcoin. It's the complete opposite of what Bitcoin stands for. The government can't allow people to have control over themselves. They won't just sit by and watch that happen. They'll have to do something about it.
CBDC will be a total failure in every country.

Btw, If it's control they want, why bother introducing a CBDC (central bank digital currency) when they can continue with the fiat system that we already know Huh
They know that Bitcoin has come to stay. They can't outright ban it because that would be an infringement. There would still be ways to go around a ban even if it would be illegal. So the best way for them is to create something that can rival Bitcoin which is absurd because they're against this same coin yet making a replica.
They hope to use their creation to fight Bitcoin. Well, good luck with that.
915  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My regret for not adopting bitcoin earlier. on: October 03, 2023, 10:31:24 AM
Don't regret not becoming a millionaire through Bitcoin all those years ago because you do not know how things might have played out if you bought Bitcoin then. There is every possibility you would have sold off your Bitcoin at $1k and taken home so much profit at the time.
Every one of us that didn't take advantage of the opportunity all those years ago wish we had but there's nothing we can do about the past. We use the past to shape the future.

Don't see Bitcoin as something that can turn you into a millionaire. I agree that it can be your investment but don't hope on it to turn you into a millionaire.
Take advantage of the advantages that Bitcoin brings. A shield against inflation, the decentralization. You get to have absolute control over your money, a currency that knows no borders, belongs to no government, and much more.

You're here now, move on from the past, learn from it, and focus on the future.
916  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: HODL is purely a mental challenge on: October 01, 2023, 07:23:44 PM
A good HODLer believes even if the price of bitcoin drops their is no permanent loss in his investment because the price of bitcoin will come up even if it goes down.  A true HODLer does not get intimidated by volatility of the market no matter how the price falls their will still be increase by the time he waits for the market volatility to increase again.  Real hodler are not scared of losses, they do not panic of volatility, so patiently waiting for the bull market,  they always succeed because they throughly understand bitcoin market.

From this, you're saying a true HODLer is devoid of emotions and that's not entirely true.
You can get scared of losing your Bitcoin when the price dips. You can get worried but the ability to control those emotions and hold on is what determines a true HODLer. I don't believe there's anybody that doesn't give a shit about the price.
We all do but we control our emotions, that's why it's a mental challenge.

To be a good HODLer you need to have a lot of trust in Bitcoin. Market analysis is good, but if you don't trust the coin it will be so hard to see a coin drop down from $60k to $19k and not panic. I said trust because even if it's a certainty that it will go back up, you don't know when you can only speculate.
It takes a lot to HODL Bitcoin and it's truly a mental challenge.
917  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 30, 2023, 09:27:01 PM
The EPL for this week really has a lot of surprises going on. Manchester City found their first defeat, Aston Villa went crazy by slaughtering Brighton with a very heavy score and Liverpool with its cuteness in 2 red cards and 1 own goal.
This ruined a lot of my bets this week because even though I knew Manchester City would eventually lose an EPL match because there's no way they'll win forever but I didn't expect them to lose to Wolves. That's also what I thought with Brighton because my biggest possibility was a draw but they lost very badly as for Liverpool I don't want to talk about them now.

I think the Aston Villa vs. Brighton game is the biggest surprise. In no way did I see that scoreline coming. I mean, there was every possibility that Aston Villa could win but not scoring 6 goals against a very good Brighton side.

Manchester City losing away to Wolves is understandable. They have the Champions League to play so they won't want to be fatigued before the game considering they had a game in mid-week.
The same goes for Manchester United. Added to the fact that United have been very inconsistent this season, a loss to Crystal Palace isn't a very big surprise.

We all knew anybody could win between Tottenham and Liverpool or it could be a draw. It very nearly became a draw. Liverpool did well even when they were two men down.

Altogether it was a very interesting Saturday morning in the premier league if you ask me. Let's see if Chelsea and Fulham have some action for us tomorrow.
918  Other / Politics & Society / Re: a slap on the faces of patriotic citizens on: September 30, 2023, 10:32:25 AM
When a country has turned into shit right before your eyes, there's no point forming fluke loyalty. A country that no more respects human rights and all the people that should be behind bars are the people running the country, what else should you call a country like that? A country where the leaders don't care if the people live or die, if they are hungry or not, where justice is a laughable word, what do you call a country like that?
A place where citizens have to provide the things that the government ought to provide yet they still pay taxes to the government for those same things.

In a real and ideal situation, those who criticize government are suppose to be those allowed to show what they have to offer because it may seem that they have better idea. I said ideal because assuming the system is not corrupt, so that they can genuinely offer something positive to growth of the country but the problem is when such person get into power or government and meet bad system, they eat their words and start doing same thing that they have criticized or they are frustrated out of the system by those who are feeding from the corrupt system.

You're wrong.
The fact that I do not know how to be Governor doesn't mean I can't criticize a seating state governor. I do not need to know how to drive to know a driver who is being reckless.
There is a reason he is governor and I am not. It means he knows the job, and he can do the job, so if he gets there and finds out he can't do the job then he should resign if he doesn't resign it means he's up to the task, and is ready for the criticisms that come with it.

It is these checks and balances that keep us in check.
A soldier on the battlefield will have to submit a report to someone in an office who doesn't know how things on the ground usually are, but it is that report that keeps us in check. It doesn't mean the person he's reporting to can do his job better than him, it just means he has someone to answer to so he doesn't go out of line.

Criticism is not a bad thing, it comes with the job. People should be allowed to ask questions about what they don't understand, after all, it's these people that put you in that position to serve them. You're only there to serve (in an ideal situation) so there's no point in being there if you can't answer to them.
919  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Canada censoring the internet? on: September 30, 2023, 10:04:38 AM
Censorship is what we cannot totally do without as far as it's something we have to do with government regulations and  intervention, many countries already have been into this, though am not a Canadian and don't also know the state affairs over there right now but i can tell that there's more likely possibilities for more organizational censorship coming after this, maybe it's time we begin to awaken our slumbering economic giants in having a look on this wether we all should go with decentralized technology in other to evade things like this in the future.

It may not seem like a big deal at first because the government will censor stuff that needs to be censored but as time goes on they begin to expand. They start censoring stuff to fuel their agenda.
When a government starts censoring, it means there's is something they either don't want their citizens to know or something they don't want people outside to know. Because of things like this, people outside can never know exactly how things on the ground are. A good example is North Korea.
Even in many African countries, all people outside the country truly know is what the government lets them.

There was a time when a country banned X (fka Twitter). This is a characteristic of a country that would happily censor the internet if they don't already do it.

A government censoring the internet should be a thing to be worried about. It's scary because there is this powerful institution trying to hide the news from going out or from coming into the country.

Barcelona vs Sevilla
   1           -       0
After their long struggle, Barcelona finally got 1 goal because of Ramos' OG. This is a lucky break. because the match went pretty tough. Sevilla also played quite well, but unfortunately they made a fatal mistake which resulted in defeat.

Despite Sevilla's compactness, I think Barcelona were very unlucky in this game. They had a lot of chances and they should have scored like 3 goals aside the own goal by Ramos. They just kept of missing so many golden chances.

I have to say the people that train the boys in that Barcelona Academy are actually very good. How do they manage to bring up young boys that are very God at what they do. They've added Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal to their squad. They still have Pedri, Gavi and Balde.
I don't think there's any academy in the world that does what La Masia of Barcelona is doing. Very impressive job.
This was the same academy that gave us Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquest, Puyol. Impressive work.
