901  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Playing your own role as a Bitcoiner on: November 22, 2023, 06:03:30 AM
It isn't out of place to tell people about bitcoin in our locality but the isn't is that since most persons see it as a barned venture, the message might not go down to well with them. And a very serious reality about most person out there that are looking for a profitable online business to venture into are mostly looking for something that would yield them there required returns within a short period of time and this is the major reason why you see a lot of people being victims of punzi schemes and scams because there minds are already fixed on the get rich quick mentality. For me, I am not all that new in the field so I try as much as possible to keep things to myself at the moment pending when I become seeing enough I the field before thinking on sharing m idea with others. Make I no go tell person say I be butcoiner an the person go de reason me as a yaho person or one kind huge aza man.

903  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Is Ai a threat to Nigerias educational system on: November 22, 2023, 05:35:21 AM
Nigerian higher institution student now lack the zeal to read and do a proper research because of ai presently now ai is now the Messiah to many Nigerian students which I see as a threat if not is been done the thing about it is that most of the time it pops out wrong answers mean while if you did not study it will think it's correct, Nigerian student before now we're known to be very very intelligent not minding our semi failed educational system we have here its very easy for Nigeria's to bag first class and many other honors outside Nigeria because we do study hard for it but I doubt in 10 years time if we will be able to say this again because of the high rate of student turning to this Ai thing basically I see it helpful a little bit but I will still encourage you to still  study so you wouldn't be taken unaware with wrong answers.
What you should understand is that good things can get into the wrong hands and abuse become totally inevitable. For the students that know what they are doing, AI is an added advantage to them while studying and for some critical questions you might not be able answer, if you bring it to Chatgp for instance, you might just get some guide that will help you understand it. Those that use AI in the exams have always involved themselves in exams malpractice before AI even can on board so they only saw a better way of involving in there malpractice. Personally, the AI has been of great help to me both while I was in school and even now that I have joined the circular society. Sometimes I might have an idea that I want to develop but it might not be all that refined and organised at first sight what I do is that I just go to the AI and communicate the idea to it and get response from it and I add whatever additional information it has given me to what I already know. If we embrace the benefit and good things that technology brings, we will know that it is definitely here for our good and not the other way round.
904  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Get a skill and make the best out of it. on: November 22, 2023, 05:22:24 AM
When choosing a skill to learn, always check your interest and try to ensure that the skill you are wanting to learn will be relevant and one that will be able to still remain profitable in the future. Some skills are no longer worth learning because their profit margin is now so small that you financial situation will not change even after you struggle to learn it. So you must be very selective in choosing a skill to learn.

Exactly you need to choose a better skill that can bring you money because they are many skill but dey no dey value them weller, technology done fa now many people don't stress there self to learn skills because they reason say he no dey bring money like before many people done turn investors for online platform because they believe say na for online money dey now all this hand work now,  if you no be say you start am for small childhood he go hard for you to learn it now because you have grow up you no go fit sit-down for 1 months to be learning hand work like tailor or barbering and other small skills, and now self if no be say dey on celebrite Christmas or sallah that will bring you huge money when you be tailor and that one is just a year, if no be say you go get contract where you go dey Sewe clothes for business people or some industry where go dey bring you money any time, and now where everything done cause now without money you no go fit learn work for person hand self.

What about if you learn a better skill and you're well in it but you need finance to establish the skill you have learnt so how can one raise the money? like you talked about fashion designers ain't they gonna rent a shop? Buy sewing machines and pay for electricity bills and other sewing equipment. So it isn't really easy for anyone at all but my advice is just that we should learn the skills first so that when an opportunity comes for us to establish it then we can conveniently do it without any fear.
getting finance to start up as a skilled individual isn't always a big deal provided you are very skilled at what you're doing. And let point this out that being skilled doesn't necessarily mean that you need to start up something of your own. There are lots of existing firms and organisation that will be willing to pay you well just to get you working for them. Even when people are complaining of lack of jobs in the country, big companies are searching seriously for young skilled and smart individual to recruit. Being skilled puts you at an advantage while applying for those jobs. I'm not against thinking on starting on your own but the process isn't always that easy because you might have not had the require experience and the intended audience to market your service to at thee onset and so it is very possible for your business I struggle. Skills like barbing, driving, plumbing, graphics, air dressing, and others of this nature doesn't require serious capital to start but how you decide to go about this is totally up to you.
905  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: How feasible will it be for our government to invest in bitcoin? on: November 21, 2023, 03:32:26 PM
We all are aware that our country is in debt, domestically (debt owned to organisations in the country) and externally (debts owned to organisations outside the country). We know the debts is not reducing rather increasing as year goes by and our main source of income which is exporting Crude Oil has been on the decline by some factors which has affected the government in being able to pay any of this debt and this continues to make our economy decline.

How feasible will it be for our president to invest in bitcoin to cover up these debts and strengthen our economy?
since we know that bitcoin halving is coming next year and this may likely make Bitcoin hit a new all time high with the span of 2 years and also the high increased of the chance of SEC accepting Bitcoin ETF which is a great news for bitcoin and also we are currently in the bullish season.

I thought about this recently when replying a post about the New Argentina president, since they are also in debt and we also, I brought it here.
the question you should have asked is if the government is making any conscious effort to ensuring that these debt is being paid in the first place. The only thing we hear is that they have borrowed some huge amount of money for projects that are not even capital-intensive. If they are concerned about becoming a debt free nation, then an option as this won't be out of place I consider but as long as they don't even give us a reason to believe that they want anything good for the country, let's see how the one sided oil mindedness takes us to.
906  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Laziness and pride on: November 21, 2023, 03:24:10 PM
Most people think life is a bed of roses where you can get anything you want so easily,  well some people are born with silver spoon while some are  not. Those who are not born with silver spoon instead of them to work or hustle genuinely they rather go into things that won't stress them,  things that are not genuine,  things that will lead to destruction,  things that are not worth it.
Most of our youth are so lazy to the extend that the houses they live in they can't clean it,  talk more of going to look for a job that will fetch them money. Like I said earlier most of our youth don't come from a rich background and yet they select the type of job they will do, a job that the least person in the society can do,  yes everyone knows that some job are hard but this category of people am talking about do not prefer anyone at all.
However,  since this set of people have decided not to work for somebody or under person.  I think they should start learning cryptocurrency form their comfort zone at least it will save them stress but more time.
I stand to be corrected but this is a very wrong and shallow analogy you've just painted about the average youth out there. As a matter of fact, if there Is any truth In what you are trying to say, It should be the reverse of your writeup. It is true that we have those that are born into reach and poor home as a major segmentation in the society but you you are being real in your analogy you should have known that most persons that are born into poor home are mostly hard working because they started hustling at a very young age. It is possible for a reach child to be selective of the kind of job he would want to be doing be the average poor person doesn't consider that mych on the kind of wok he choose to do. Laziness is never a function of class but it is even more associated with the higher class people compared to the lower class.
907  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: The people from Bitciontalk are a good company to keep. on: November 18, 2023, 07:09:35 PM
Always remember the phrase "never walk alone." There is this motivation you get from a forum like this that allows you to interact with like minds of your range, those beneath you, and those above you. Because you are a motivation to those just joining the forum, it pushes you to do better so the younger ones in the forum can see things they can learn from you. because you also have those above you, it motivates you to put in more effort which will accelerate you to the position of those above you and this makes it a win win scenario.
By also reading and reacting to threads in the forum, it enlightens you the more.
908  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are there fewer women Than men involved in Bitcoin? on: November 18, 2023, 06:55:49 PM
When I checked the statistics of women who are into Bitcoin and found out that they are less than 10%, it surprised me seriously. It is understandable when we see fewer women than men in sectors that require physical energy to carry out work activity like the military or in the engineering sector but when you still see this same work force difference in the tech and Bitcoin space that they can comfortably do at the comfort of there home, it gets me curious to know the reason that might have been responsible for this huge gap.

I would appreciate if we can talk about this here. What could be responsible for this?

Maybe the reason for this is the limited time that married women have, but for women who are not married or married, it is because they prefer to play around rather than learning something that can make money for them. That's what I've seen around me so far so I wouldn't be surprised to see that there are more men who like Bitcoin than women until now and even next year too.

Another reason that could be a trigger for this is that there are no people who want to tell women to like Bitcoin instead of liking the handsome men they love as their partners in life. So this could also be the cause of the big gap in women liking Bitcoin, although there are also other reasons such as their lack of curiosity about Bitcoin. So their days are spent on other things rather than finding out about Bitcoin via the internet or people around them.
This for me, is a very shallow reasoning you have just given here. Playing around and not being serious with life isn't gender-related at all, anybody can choose not to take his or her life seriously and so I think it should never be considered in the first place.

On your second point, people don't necessarily have to tell women about Bitcoin before they know what it is, as a matter of fact, the majority of those women who are not directly into Bitcoin or tech already know about it but for reasons best known to them, they decided not to venture into that field.
909  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: November 18, 2023, 06:07:54 AM
Hey gamblers' community, hope you're all doing great.
I wanted to convey my message here that gambling in front of our kids may put adverse effects on their growing minds and they may also take the wrong path and start gambling (either by asking you personally for funds or by stealing it in order to fulfill their gambling cravings).

I'm sharing this because I saw this issue with my kiddo who was once watching me gamble at a website playing blackjack and she started asking me more about the game. Then one day, she wanted to play it herself and asked me if she can go for it and I said "no, it's not your legal age to go for such games". So, it's better to keep our kiddos away from gambling and let them focus on their studies, else it'd actually ruin everything for the whole family if the kid takes the wrong path.
children learn more from observation and ones they start growing up, they start practicing what they've observed there parents doing. It is a very wrong practice to assume that because they are under that they will not understand what you are doing. As much as it is in your power, protect them from what they might not be able to control themselves in if they get themselves into. As an adult you can control your gambling limit but for a young person that is not all that matured to making the right decisions, might be difficult for them. Apart from gambling, there are things you shouldn't do in from of your children matter how tender they are.
910  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Access bank no fit give their customers access. on: November 18, 2023, 05:59:16 AM
. People not having access to their money is a very bad experience which can put people to be in a complete confuse state. Na why I still considered bitcoin as the best, even if their is a delay in the network to transfer bitcoin,  with the use of a accelerator people still have access to their money in Bitcoin.  Access bank no even care about their customers, if they put their customers first they won't let their customers to go through this pain. Bitcoin cares about it users and still created a way people  can have access to it with accelerator.
this issue of not having access to your funds when you are in need can be as tiring and frustrating as hell. You will just be making your plans with the money in your account only for you to try withdrawing it and you are noticing one network problem or another. Yesterday, I almost tracked from a very long distance back home because of this similar bank wahala.

I went somewhere and paid my transportation with my last cash to the place, after I was done with what I went there for, I proceeded to making withdrawing to pay myself back only to find out that there is no network to make the transfer. I tracked to different locations in the locality just to source for network but was still unable to make then transfer. I had to beg a driver to help me out in the situation and that is how I was able to return back home. This country and their systems an serious cruise on a normal.

Op, you did try to share this information with our local board, but this thread has existed in our local, and you for just replied on the already existing thread as a comment instead of creating a new thread on this. Make e no be like say we dey spam our local board. This is the link to the thread that has been created to share this same information for our board. Federal Government 3 Million Technical Talent Programme for Young Nigerians
thanks for pointing out the fact that someone had already created a similar topic as this, to be honest, I wasn't careful enough to check out for a possibility of it being posted before, maybe it's because of the excitement of seeing the minister advocating for the national blockchain policy. When I listened to the thorough analysis on how the program will be structured, I just couldn't hold it but had to share it with ourocak board members to get there input on this.
912  Economy / Economics / Re: Small Scale Business Ideas on: November 18, 2023, 05:38:55 AM
On this board I often see a lot of discussions related to investment and finance which tend to be large scale. However, to start investing we need capital. How do you find capital for investment?

Let's talk about small scale businesses that have low risks and promising profits so that we can have capital to invest and become passive income in the future.

Do you have a small business idea? or business experience? I want to hear it
choosing a small scale business to venture into depends on the environment you are located and the needs you find in that environment that is not yet solved or that had been solved but by just a few individuals. Like in a locality where I visit most often, there major concern is that they don't have access to electricity and bore home and during the dry season, they struggle a lot getting water to running house hold stuff, if you are leaving in such environment you can think of digging a bore while and you just buy mini bus and some fetching bucket you can use in distributing the water to house hold hold and every months they will be required to pay you a certain amount. Depending on the capital you are able to raise fit your business, if you deliberately look out for problems that are unsolved in your society, you will find lit of them you can venture into
913  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship and women on: November 18, 2023, 05:28:22 AM
I want to start a discussion highlighting some points I read online regarding women as compared to men in entrepreneurship and the chance of success.

Quote

Men and women do not prepare for the launch of their business in the same way. The number one preparatory activity for women is specific training (43.3% versus 31.8% for men). Men are looking for potential clients (45.8%) and writing a business plan (42.5% versus 34.6% for women).

Market research is carried out by about 1/3 of men and 1/4 of women.

Women entrepreneurs are much less experienced than their male counterparts: 37.5% have less than 3 years of experience versus 25.7% of men.

82.5% of women start businesses alone (compared to 69.8% of men)

Men consider that they are more entrepreneurial than women (84.7% of men against 72% of women)

Men have much more confidence in the future than women (48.2% of women vs. 64.7% of men)

Men are clearly more confident in the success of their company than women: 72.4% versus 65.3

There are far more unemployed women than men among entrepreneurs: 25.9% versus 16.9

Women are 3 times less likely than men to have already tried the adventure of creating a business: only 5.3% of women had already created a business against 18.4% of men

As a result of the difficult economic times, do you consider that there will be more women entrepreneurs competing with men in this field which it so looks like they currently dominate?

https://www.intotheminds.com/blog/en/entrepreneurship-differences-women-men/

I think that the core reason why you find more men than women in most sector of the workforce is the mentality that most mem have that they are the braid winner of the home and that's what lead them to think on creative ways of making money. For the women on the other hand, as long as their husbands doing well, they can be relaxed or might just look for any small business just to keep themselves busy with.

I know that other women are doing extremely well in terms of career and in the entrepreneurial sector and this has a lot to do with there kind of environment they find themselves. There are societies and families where it is almost like a taboo for a woman to be seen working as hard as a man, some men might not even allow their wives to work in some society while in other society, they don't see anything wrong in woman working and its just a normal situation and this encourages more women to try out several entrepreneurial adventures and some of them are doing very well in those actors.
914  Economy / Economics / Re: Why is it difficult for people to get capital easily? on: November 18, 2023, 05:15:31 AM
It is not always an easy thing to get capital because while you are still making your savings, you still need to feed yourself, pay your rent, and sometimes assist some relative who might be in serious need at the moment. Getting a capital for your business involves you being very intentional about it, it demands discipline and a whole lot of commitment if not, it will become very difficult before you will be able to raise something reasonable.

You have to also know that meeting the needs of your relative isn't your primary responsibility most especially at the point when you've not become financially stable. You need to at certain time speak to then and let them know that this is not the best time to expect anything from you. You so need to decide on the amount you will be saving every month and then you put in the required work to getting the funds, it might not be all that eady but with patient and determination, you will certainly get your desired capital.
915  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: FG 3MTT program and the National blockchain policy: on: November 17, 2023, 06:54:27 PM
Yes the information is true I have come across it and I even applied.
sure, it is true. I also applied and they've already sent out messages to the first phase of 3000 applicant that have successfully finished up there application process and will run the program for them between next month to February. The next phase will commence by march and from the information I gathered from the minister during his briefing, this current set of applicant would be used as a model to check how the programme will look like so as to make necessary changed before the next set, this is the reason when they only sent out the message to 1% of the applicant after which they will accept the next 10% of the 3 million and follow up in that manner.

917  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: The journey wey you plan the least nah him fit give you the most on: November 17, 2023, 05:09:15 PM
Sometimes when I de reflect on how far I done come for the tech and cryptocurrency space, and all the things and experiences I don gathered so far, e de amaze me seriously. Growing up, I been de seriously into playing of keyboards and instruments in church and I been seriously think say na from there I go take make a living, later as I begin grow come enter street, the vibes to de follow up church matter come drop and I no come de take the instrument stuff very seriously. I come later enter into phone repairs come de enjoy the work wetin no nice and come even de make small savings say I go use start up my own phone repairs shop. As I get admission into school na there the whole phone repairs matter come die like that and I come say make I try focus on school small but e no take time when the interest begin die down. We just de get small conversation and my friend just bring up the matter weda I de interested to go into tech, I been no take am seriously but with time as I come de visit my guy come de see how him de work, I come say make I follow try see how e de be and with time I come de enjoy the stuff small small.

E done de reach almost 3 years when I don de do this work with my guy and I don get serious sense of fulfilment as I de do the job so! Nah so ah con still join the forum as they come give me update about bitcoin and so far the journey has been filled with fulfillment and happiness.

Wetin I de try talk be say make we no de write anything off like that on  the first appearance, make we continue to de learn anything when de reasonable and useful to learn. you never can tell which one will end up paying you very well in this life.
This is very inspiring. As you journey through life, keep learning whatever skill you are privileged to learn because they will save you from some messy situation you might find yourself in. Also know that no knowledge is a waste, keep learning and accumulating them, this way, you will always be relevant wherever you find yourself.
918  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Is Nigeria a failed project ? on: November 17, 2023, 05:02:21 PM
I think arguing about Nigeria being a failed project or not isn't necessary at all. If we agree that Nigeria is a failed project, how does it translate to making Nigeria better? If after our argument we decide that Nigeria isn't a failed state, does it change the fact that thousands of graduate are unemployable because the institutions that ascertained that they are fit to graduate is very quack, outdated, and none functional and shouldn't be allowed to guarantee who his qualified to be called an engineer, lawyer or doctor.

I think that one of the major problems we have as a nation is that we are just good at analyzing our problems without putting in the effort to see ourselves out of this sorry state we find ourselves  in
919  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 17, 2023, 04:49:18 PM
A friend of mine is not interested in buying Bitcoin even after learning about it.
Because according to him Bitcoin is a small number of people who have a lot of Bitcoin. They can easily go down on the bitcoin market if they want to.
Example: Cz. Craig wright & Michel Sailor etc.

Looking forward to the well thought out opinion of the experienced in this regard.

it is totally his choice to make the decision to invest or not to invest in Bitcoin based on whatever reason that he choose to hold on to. And let me reiterate this here, Bitcoin isn't the only profitable thing one can invest his money into, there are lots of other ways one can make investment depending on what the person feels comfortable with. I know a relative that has a lot of money but wouldn't want to make any investment that is outside of business. He feels that since he can see the physical business and monitor it growth, he his satisfied with that. Others might not think in that direction but you just have to allow them be and stick with what works best for you.
920  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the minimum amount of bitcoin or satoshi should hold for poor? on: November 17, 2023, 04:40:28 PM
What is the minimum amount of bitcoins a poor person should have? and the minimum time it should be Hold/retained?

What's your definition of being poor? Making any investment entails that you have more than is required to feed you and that you don't want to leave the excesses dormant without yielding an interest in the long run and that's the reason for even deciding to invest into any platform or scheme of your choice. The amount you use is totally dependent on how much you can keep aside without needing it within a stipulated period of time of the investment. I doubt a poor person would even take a serious thought on making an investment since his financial state isn't all that strong.
