901  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Doubling your Bitcoins?? Scam or real?? Your opinion on: May 31, 2017, 11:44:46 AM
These sites that offer to double your money deceive less people nowadays, with a little thought anyone realizes that they are a scam. However there are others that offer a much lower profitability and have been running for some time and can fool people because they may seem more legal. The reality is that they work the same and end the same, the difference is that these sites with 1% profitability take a little longer to become a scam but all at the end, as soon as investors stop entering the system, they close doors and their customers run out of money.
902  Economy / Speculation / Re: IF eth takes over from BTC will BTC then face a relative colapse? on: May 31, 2017, 11:26:49 AM
Bitcoin is and will always be the main coin and as soon as it solves its problems it will be even more. There is no doubt about the future of bitcoin in the long run. That doesn´t mean that it´s the only one, Ethereum will have its space too, more as a platform than as a coin.
903  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea, the BTC pump and the household credit problem on: May 31, 2017, 11:16:12 AM
The Korean government is taking measures in favor of bitcoin, for example, it lowered the equity capital required for companies focusing on Bitcoin remittances, so it wouldn´t be surprising that many of the investors were big companies. It seems clear that the demand for bitcoin is very high there. The difference in price with the rest of the world is striking but surely for these companies it will be easier to buy bitcoin in their country, even being more expensive. Perhaps commissions for banking transactions outside the country are very high.
904  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin/Altcoin Portfolio strategies on: May 30, 2017, 08:40:31 PM
The third option you posted is the best. I would do some research and chose about 5-10 projects with active development a new features to be implemented. I would get into their slack channels to be aware of any news. I would study the charts to see if the coin is in the accumulation phase or if at least there has not been a pump recently. If these conditions are met I would invest in this coins. With 5-10 coins you could diversify your portfolio and wait for the respective prices to rise.
905  Economy / Economics / Re: Long-term storage on: May 30, 2017, 07:52:28 PM
It´s very difficult that in twenty years there are no difficult times in which you will need the money, in the end you would end up withdrawing those coins before. The only way it works would be to buy an amount that wasn´t very large, for example $ 100, and save them expecting to multiply by 1000. In addition there are other complications, updates, forks, etc. And most importantly, the possibility that you completely forget that you have those coins guarded.
906  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tomorrow 31th May (Japan time) will open internet giant GMO Btc trading platform on: May 30, 2017, 04:11:42 PM
GMO seems to be a reputable company, the exchange is regulated and the user´s funds are secured and insured so they will have a big a amount of users willing to invest in bitcoin. I think there will be a pump in Japan exchanges.
907  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the Bitcoin UASF has already won in case of a hard fork on: May 30, 2017, 03:11:52 PM
How would UASF or a hard fork affect normal merchants who don't know all the technical details but just want to keep accepting bitcoin as payment?

Most of the merchants don´t have to worry themselves because they accept payments in bitcoin but don´t receive the coins, they have partners like Gocoin who are responsible for converting the bitcoins that users pay in fiat money. That is, the user pays with bitcoin, Gocoin or another partner makes the exchange and the merchant receives fiat money. Therefore those who would have to worry are these intermediate companies. In the case of merchants who receive bitcoins directly they have two options, or take risks or not accept payments until the situation is cleared.
908  Economy / Speculation / Re: Time to buy? on: May 30, 2017, 02:54:19 PM
I would not buy bitcoin now, on the one hand I don´t expect a pump in the coming weeks, I think the price will stay stable for a while. On the other hand we don´t know what will happen with the UASF activation in August and how it can affect the price, even if I thought to buy bitcoin as a long term investment I would rather wait a few months.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS TRAVELING PLACES!!! on: May 30, 2017, 12:59:42 PM
If someone thinks that banks will disappear, that there will be no more national currencies and bitcoin will be the only currency in the world is that person lives in a fantasy world or doesn´t know how the world works. For this utopia to be real, all the governments of the world and all financial institutions would have to fall. There would have to be a cataclysm so great that the only trade left would be apples for pears.

Governments will continue to issue their currencies, backed up, over which they will have decision-making power. Banks will continue to exist and continue to dominate the world. The national currencies will have their virtual version. Bitcoin will be a great alternative and will be used globally in all parts of the world. That is all.
910  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you trust core? on: May 30, 2017, 12:23:50 PM
I trust no one, but I don´t think it's a matter of trust either, it´s a matter of proposals and to know which is the correct one to go ahead. In this aspect Core has an advantage, they are the developers and they are supposed to be the ones who know what they are doing.

913  Economy / Speculation / Re: If China opens BTC withdrawals - would that mean a pump or a dump? on: May 29, 2017, 11:59:15 PM
The dump happened months ago when the central bank of china inspected the exchanges and the restriction started. Later, the price recovered when it was announced that the bitcoin withdrawals would be resumed. When this finally happen many users will take their coins out of the exchanges but there will not be a big price change because of this.
914  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The U.S Will Attempt To Intercept An ICBM For The First Time Ever on: May 29, 2017, 11:26:52 PM
North Korea is not interested in ICBMs as an offensive but a defensive weapon, I mean, they will not launch their misils first because they know that in this case they would be destroyed but if they are attacked in first place they can use them as response and this is what will discourage other countries from attacking them.
915  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The U.S Will Attempt To Intercept An ICBM For The First Time Ever on: May 29, 2017, 09:36:49 PM
Nine successful interceptions out of 17 doesn´t seem a very promising statistic to me, especially given that these results are often exaggerated.
916  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UASF Activation on: May 29, 2017, 02:45:25 PM
UASF worked perfectly on Litecoin as well as SegWit. On LTC Jihad Bu also tried to impede SW but could do nothing about UASF and lost  Wink

Well let's hope they will not politicize this either and there will be a consensus on its usage and adoption so that hopefully Bitcoin will improve on its current challenges for the benefit of all.

There is much speculation about a dump after a possible hardfork but I think the dump would occur BEFORE the hardfork, many people would sell their coins because of fear and many investors would rather sell and wait a few months for the panorama to clear before buying again. This price crash would hurt miners who would see their profits fall. Therefore, those who have the most pressure right now are them, the miners are the ones who have more to lose. Maybe this will cause Jihan to give way and there will be a consensus before August 1, at least as far as Segwit is concerned.
917  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Germany to stop intelligence sharing with USA? on: May 28, 2017, 07:44:00 PM
-It is a request from the leader of the opposition, does not mean that the German government will take this measure.
-Secret services share information but not ALL information.
-There are things that the secret services know thanks to the espionage, they spy to the enemies and also to the allies.
-The exchange of information is like a trade, I give you what you want if you give me what I want.
-The relationship between the secret services of Germany and the United States will stay the same.
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi Bitcoin Japan on: May 28, 2017, 05:51:14 PM
No one knows if Satoshi Nakamoto exists or not, could even be a group of people. It´s like Homer(not the Simpsons character but the Iliad and The Odyssey author), that it´s not very clear if he really existed. For Bitcoin this has been good, the lack of a visible leader has helped to spread the ideal of decentralization.
919  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Bitcoin mining should be profitable now on: May 28, 2017, 02:37:44 PM
The reason why mining is more profitable is the increase in the price of Bitcoin last year, doubling its value. This could attrack new companies that could be interested in mining which would make more competition in the sector.
920  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here we go on: May 28, 2017, 12:31:12 PM
Too soon to know if this is just a rebound or if the price will stabilize now. I would bet for the second option. A new rise in price to reach $3000 its impossible right now after this last strong correction, investors need to feel confident that it will not happen again.
