+18% from r2 to r4 on gtx 970. Cpu usage max 3%/ sa-solver.exe on i5, tdp 71-83%. edit: windows 7

none of the LINUX miners for ZEC are even close to competative on hashrate to the Windows ones.
What's wrong with optiminer?

Like Quint said, nVidia is way better at F@H than AMD. A GTX 1070 can get at least 600K PPD while folding, which equates to about 25 CURE and 2250 FLDC per day...which in turn equates to about 0.0038BTC per day for a single 1070 at current prices. Looking at whattomine.com I am seeing that for 150 Sol/s (about what a 480 or 290 can do) you net the equivalent of 0.003 - 0.0032 BTC per day. So nVidia has things it is better at and can be more profitable. You just need to mine (or fold for) a coin that is more suited to the hardware. It's not the devs' fault that most algos are better suited to AMD.
i'm curious what altcoin you are folding exactly, the old gridcoin, or foldingcoin? i don't remember such profit for folding since a very long time, also folding is very cpu dependent, you have an hevay load there CURE and FLDC merge folding. FLDC also pays out MAGICFLDC as well as PEPECASH, but those are not worth much. Folding is not CPU intensive at all (unless you are CPU folding) With a decent CPU though you can get another 100k+ PPD if you want to fold on it as well. And there goes profitability down the toilet... Payouts are only once per month so you will have to wait your btc a while. Payday dumps happen too.

If in the US dont look at the rate you are actually paying for electricity check the ENTIRE bill with fees
yeah we choose our energy supplier one or twice a year and go with whoever is lowest. this time our supplier is in texas and we are in massachusetts. the delivery cost per kw is more than the supply cost per kw. go figure.. 66% of my power bill is taxes and transfer fees. This in northern Europe.

Amount of hardware or cost of mining has no effect on coins price. Its about how much fresh money is flowing in to buy, no matter how many are there miners.
+1 You need at least one miner though, otherwise blockchain is dead. And one node. But I guess that last miner would go solo so no need for pools

@antantti what is the best way to mine Eth (dagger I assume?) for 1070's?
Same as with every other gpu. Find a pool that works for you. Find a miner that works for you. If you have enough hashing power and a low latency network connection you should go solo. Solo doesn't mean eth only in claymore's miner.

Right now 32MH on dagger earns more than 140s/s equihash.
Fast cuda equihashminer has fallen from 'urgently needed' to 'nice to have' category.

People buying 1080 mining rigs underdogs? I just don't buy that.
After done some bad investments you just don't come here to whine about it. Like it was some others fault.

Miner developers just ignoring nvidia community... Or 'nvidia community' just ignoring miner developers. That is how market works. Just include fee into a miner - and we have good hashrate, and developer have good profit. Just let that market decide. That f----r does always the right thing.

$800 gpu does 60 when sold to market at bargain price.
Meanwhile, second hand $100 gpu does 130 that can be used at markets much more profitable. ROI in 3-4 weeks, just like earlier this year. This can all change in one night though.

Zcash is beeing harvested. I think the Happy BD problem has a backdoor. You had 10000 sol/s during opening weekend, now you have what 150000? I remember earlier this year when eth started bull run genesismining selling 100MH contracts for $1600. Now they are selling 75 sol/s for $2600. Guys we are doing something wrong here .

besides cpu which was fixed, what is the problem?
The speed. The income... The only way to Max the NVIDIA chips is to use CUDA. Problem is that after optiminer release nvidia feels like joke, sad but a fact. Hope that week from now both nvidia & amd do 300 S/s.

Well with my RX 470 4GB its EXACTLY just as profitable as Dual ETH (ETC) mining.
How is the power consumption zec vs dual on 470? There is always long weekend somewhere in cryptoland.

GTX 970 55 sol/s, win7 boost on maxwell seems to be working. TDP at 75-85% range, cpu usage close to zero.
edit: overclocks quite well too

It is not unusual that one gpu in dual gpu card dies, it still works but only with one gpu. I find it strange that 2/2 of your cards have failed though, that would be really bad luck.
Double check everything (different pc and psu) and if it still doesn't work just send them back if under warranty.

!!!!! PCI-E SPEED IS AN ISSUE.
I noticed this too. You get better speeds if you connect your card to x16 slot without riser.

Yes I confirmed it after some research.
Your researches, they have something to do with recent nethash behaviour?

The coin is just a couple of days old. This meens that the price will be volatile in next few weeks. What the price is now doesn't matter.
How many zcl do you have?
