901  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: December 11, 2023, 03:19:02 PM
Martingale doesn't always fail though and I am living proof of that. It's a useless strategy in the long-term and will suck up your bankroll quickly, but it's actually pretty effective in the short-term if you play smartly.
I have seen bets placed on martingale strategy to be on a winning streak and if stopped right there the net profit might be good. But there is this habit of gamblers to not stop when having wins and so the reds will suddenly take over as the bet size keeps getting bigger and you are out of balance.

Quote
For example, Rollbit duel arena is a good place to execute this strategy in the short-term thanks to zero house edge.
Its a PvP game and we are mostly talking about the dice game on freebitco.in - I have seen blackjack players use doubling the base bet method on a loss for many of their games. So its not limited to dice games, but should be used with caution, because it is not guarantee of wins but only a method to use the remaining balance to try to maximize the lost money.
902  Local / India / Re: Oh digital rupee is already live!? on: December 10, 2023, 07:53:31 AM
Loading rupee is just flawless, no error at all, but I just went with the smallest denomination possible 2 while irony is there is literally zero merchant in my entire district.
Ah, the Demand/Supply ratio. With no merchants the app is essentially useless. Since its a pilot project, this should change in the coming days. Just keep that app installed and check back with the officials to see how things progress.

I also got a notification from the Bank's app, but I did not feel like following it up.

I can see on play store the ICICI bank's app for the same is this

Has the other banks launched their apps too?
903  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why the rich win gambling more than the poor. on: December 10, 2023, 07:49:46 AM
Or could it be that the rich are less desperate to win which make them make better gambling decision? I really want to know the reason for this pattern I have observed.
There can be some reasons for the same:

1. The rich have more money at hand.
2. They own the casino - in which case you are out of luck. Grin
3. They have money at hand that is not earned by their hard work, that is money to burn - so they gamble with it without remorse on loss.
4. The poor are desperate to make money and get into the trap of making money from little money

I dont agree with your pattern, it might just be a coincidence. Both have their own share of gambling attempts.
904  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Risking 1% in Gambling on: December 10, 2023, 07:38:02 AM
I also think 1% is really small, but if it's only what other people's budget can afford,...
No risk is ever small, in EV- gambling your luck will wipe out the balance before you know it. Low risk gambling is a gimmick in my opinion, any gamble is a risk and if not stopped quickly leads to losses that cannot be recovered. You are basically just playing with the money at a 50% chance of winning and you will lose.

The less you take risks the less the rewards, which is also true and that puts off the gambler who thrives on risk. Hence the gambling industry works, the casinos market their risks and the gamblers pay for them.
905  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 10, 2023, 07:32:54 AM
It helps keeping link with your own industry even after you have officially retired. In businesses there is no official retirement but passing on the baton to the next of kin or something similar.

You want to lead a healthy retirement, try to be active more so in household work and in helping the younger generation grow. Stay involved in the family work and dont be a grouchy old person. That way your mind will stay fresh and avoid the boredom and gradually more diseases will creep up your prescriptions.

Take more vacations but be mindful of people around you. Not every person has a happy retirement, but it is possible with effort.

Exactly, it might work for one person, but not for the other person. I have buddies that are still convinced that they will always end up winning with Martingale. Nomatter what I say or even give my own personal examples, they still think that they will end up in profit...
Martinfail is never recommended to players, but those who are new in gambling and think they can outsmart the casino by methods written on the internet which have constraints that cannot be fulfilled in reality. They forget that the casino is running for years and have been making profits for many years too from the players who lose more than win.

One method to teach them is allow them to use the dummy paper gambling method to play and show that in the long run the balance will turn red.
907  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: December 10, 2023, 07:14:18 AM
In the case of casinos I think it will depend: following the trajectory of the last few years, if they ask for KYC upon registration and collaborate passing data to the states that require it, which would surely imply having to change the current licenses of Caribbean countries for other more solid ones, I don't think there will be problems with them. But then they will have lost most of their attractiveness, and I don't think they will have so much to invest in advertising in the forum.
In this context I dont think we should drown ourselves in that "everything is going down" notion. Admin knows that the forum thrives on the signature campaigns otherwise the forum would be dead just like Rog Ver's forum is for many years (is it still running?).

So campaigns will not be shutting down but there would be a middle ground reached between what theymos wants and how KYC and Non-KYC companies are going to run them here. No need to speculate over things just now. Let the mixer ban settle in and the new year come, things will get clear over the next year.
908  Local / India / Re: Future of Indian Economy on: December 09, 2023, 12:54:00 PM
The lower classes will hide under BPL card and all and avoid taxation and the small shop/businesses in locailties will evade taxation too, buy multiple Android phones for every person in the family and a couple of RE Bullet motorbikes while the middle class will bear the taxation burden with hefty advance taxes coming in.

I agree that we dont have much of a choice here. But the problem is in the roots of the country and the corruption that development faces. The economy has been like this for years and every ruling party change is only a change of the name and face. Because the corruption is so ingrained in us, not much changes can happen.
909  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking forward to invest on: December 09, 2023, 12:48:57 PM
I want to make an investment with just $50 as a beginner i don't know which coin am i to start with but i heard been hearing a lot of people both physically and on social networks saying incredible things about (BTC), that is the best. please i need your assistance ??
Your nigerian local friends can help you more about this.

I will just say that consider having a stable fiat spending first - then decide how much you can spare for bitcoin buying every month. Because a lumpsum of just 50$ will not become huge after a few years compared to what you can achieve with 20-30$/month for a few years.

I read your posts and I see you are a barber by profession. Try to improve your skills and open your own shop in future. Then you will be running your own business and investing in bitcoin. Just dont give up right away because bitcoin's price is high. Stick around and you will do great!
910  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can old generation cause the habit of gambling in young generation ? on: December 09, 2023, 12:44:28 PM
I believe that it is inevitable to be unaware of gambling, but you can guide them on being disciplined and aware of associated risks.
I strongly advocate this. But maybe at younger ages their minds are not mature enough to accept that gambling leads to more losses than wins and they should not gamble if they want to conserve their money in a safe manner. Gradually they can be taught about the math behind the gambling scenario and how the casinos always win if played for the long run.

Its tough but like sex education and adulthood, gambling should be explained to youngsters, with the rise of fantasy sports and different forms of "veiled gambling" - this is important.
911  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Bitcoin Mining in Nigeria on: December 09, 2023, 12:33:55 PM
I guess the OP is going to showcase this thread into another of their "Merit me please" thread lists.

I got nothing against them though. Seeing news about people develop their own mining setups gives me a "feel good" notion too. But its way smaller than what is needed to make decent ROI and to pay back the workers who may get employed. Seen many of them put up brave words and then a news article too, but after a few years they have vanished and sold off their gear leaving any potential investor or worker without payment.

The name "Trojan" itself gives me red flag vibes. Roll Eyes I would ask the OP to follow this case up for a year and then let us know. I have done the same for many and the results were not good.
912  Economy / Reputation / Re: Light_warrior / Memorial thread ... 🕯️ on: December 08, 2023, 07:36:14 PM
I was not familiar with the user, but I have read their posts only a few times.

I was surprised to know that another forum member had given him and his family refuge during the war and this goes out to all the kind souls out there who have been doing the same. Somewhat reminds me of the movies about the Holocaust and those who tried to help the victims Cry

I hope the family finds peace and is able to continue the legacy of never giving up hope and to fight the tough fight!
913  Local / India / Re: Which of the following P2P exchange you trust? on: December 08, 2023, 03:40:37 PM
Regular basis? Situation of BTC/INR pair is funny over there.

https://bisq.markets/market/btc_inr

Last trade was on 2023-01-16.
Thanks for the information. I have only heard of Bisq and watched their videos on youtube a long time back but never used the platform, I liked their no KYC system but was put off by the long delays in trading and also that security deposit that @Bitcoin Smith mentioned, I forgot to recall while writing my comment.

It is good to see you back here, please be more active if possible, we are trying to build the Indian community again.
914  Local / Press & News from India / Re: IEEE to issue blockchain skill certificates on Avalanche in India on: December 08, 2023, 03:37:15 PM
I am aware of a project called EvidenZ (previously BCDiploma) which also provides similar certificates for school and college degrees. Was a bounty participants and its token price went up well, so I holding their tokens for many years now. I think blockchain entrance into the common things of life like groceries, marketing, certification will not happen quickly but very slowly because of a multitude of factors. The above news is optimistic but following it to see how much it makes an impact, will be worth seeing.

BTW I first came to know about IEEE when I was doing my firsts in wifi hacking, I used to come across the IEEE 802.11x very commonly.
915  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How discipline are you in managing your bankroll? on: December 08, 2023, 03:26:43 PM
But those who are involved in such high-stakes bets are those who have taken sports betting as a way to make money in the form of investment.
I would not go that far to call sport betting an investment. It might be an EV+ game, but it is still have some luck factor and that luck factor can wipe out your balance after the end of the round.

A high-stakes game means more difficulty in managing the bankroll. While we talk about a 10% max of bankroll on any single bet, these people might go for more than that and end up with a loss. Personally I would never go that far unless I have some insider news.

Discipline here means less gambling from the player's side, which kind of negates gambling altogether.
916  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: 📝[Discussion topic] Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns📝 on: December 08, 2023, 03:11:50 PM
On the plus side, as you posted in the coinomize signature thread, some mixer campaigns are starting moving to altcointalk, so it's not like they're gone forever. Hopefully the trend continues and all mixers would move there (together with the participants), creating more traffic and more competition, driving pay rates up.
I saw the thread on Altcointalks, their payrate is much lower than what was offered on bitcointalk. The top quality posters who were in such campaigns will think twice over going there to promote it unless the pay is compensated in some other form. I am sure the managers are doing well managing this and since I am not willing to add in another account to that forum, I will stay here and focus on the issues on this forum. Cheesy

Not sure how some of the members can manage two forums at the same time. Kudos to those who can! Roll Eyes
917  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan defaulted by [Edwardard] on: December 08, 2023, 03:03:20 PM
...and he keeps looking at this thread everyday while laughing at himself.
Which is what makes this type of tricks even more dirty.

Taking advantage of the lender's kindness to provide a non-collateral loan, they dont have the guts to owe up and confess that they are unable to pay back and need more time. At least they should communicate and not ghost the lender. Most of the lenders here are reasonable enough to give time and make room with smaller repayments.

The accused thinks they gamed the system by doing this, while they actually deep down know that they are fault.
918  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking to sell a computer to raise money to invest in Bitcoin. on: December 07, 2023, 09:35:39 AM
The computer is a necessity in the current life, if you don't have use for it then go ahead and sell. But you will need some digital device to access your coins after you buy them.

Also I agree with @adaseb here. The things you can do using a computer to earn money should be kept in mind. You are exiting teenage now and you will need a computer for studies, work and research, so I don't find it to be a wise decision at all.

Best to talk to your parents and assess your financial and educational condition before taking this step. Bitcoin can wait but your education needs to be completed in time.
919  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] MIR Bounty Campaign - Fake Team + Fake Project on: December 07, 2023, 09:32:02 AM
OP, please be aware the next time you create a flag, that the reference topic is made by a trusted user or yourself and use that to prepare the flag. Do not use the scammers topic as reference because they can edit and remove it in the click of a button.

Either way the scammer has been thwarted for now. But they will be back so be aware of the same.

I believe thread can be locked now.
920  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casinos and gamblers are struggling with high tx fees.? on: December 07, 2023, 09:27:36 AM
Gamblers are not deterred by anything and fees are the least important to them. After not playing for a while, the dopamine surge is needed to get that high again and hence they will use methods to circumvent the high fees. This includes taking on site loans, using an altcoin to deposit or using a fiat casino for the time being.

Logically speaking it is better to wait it out and delay gambling for the time being. But logic does not work when it comes to gamblers. Hence the number of gambler might slightly reduce but would not be significant enough for the casino.
