903  Bitcoin / Press / [2017-12-15] Japanese Company To Start Paying Employees In Bitcoin on: December 15, 2017, 05:07:09 AM
A Japanese company will start paying part of its employees’ salaries in Bitcoin, as it aims to gain better understanding of the virtual currency, a spokeswoman has said.

GMO Internet, which operates a range of web-related businesses including finance, online advertising and internet infrastructure, will start paying up to 100,000 yen (£660/$890) monthly by Bitcoin to its employees in Japan from February next year.

“Employees can receive salaries by Bitcoin if they want to,” company spokeswoman Harumi Ishii said. “We hope to improve our own literacy of virtual currency by actually using it.”

The offer will be open to around 4,000 employees of the GMO group in Japan, she said.

The company started a Bitcoin trading and exchange business in May. And next month, it will join the so-called “Bitcoin mining” business – gaining the right to receive new Bitcoins as a reward for helping keep the network secure by approving transactions.

World Bitcoin prices have surged globally this year, soaring from less than $1,000 in January to $17,000 this week.

904  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrops question? :) on: December 15, 2017, 04:56:18 AM
Hello everyone!  Smiley

I have a few question about Airdrops:

How to make some money from airdrops?
How much can you make from airdrops for a month?
And do you know some good websites for airdrops?

Just check these boards always for announcement of airdrops.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=159.0

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=240.0

You need to be attentive because if an airdrop has limited participants and you see it hours later then most probably, the airdrop is already close because it is already full.

As to how much you can make from airdrops, it depends on your rank and some factors. If the coins is distributed equally then maybe you can earn $5 for an airdrop and probably if you are patient enough this might become $50 or $500 if you wait for a few months before selling it. There are some airdrops that drops additional coins if you didn't immediately sell you coins for sometime.

An airdrop site that I know is this one. https://airdropalert.com/

But then the best source of airdrop would be this forum and always check the boards that I mentioned.
905  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which is the most likely to happen first? on: December 15, 2017, 04:35:18 AM
Blockchain hack is highly unlikely to happen so it is either government ban or major exchange hack. There are some countries that are thinking of either banning bitcoin or regulating it and since banning it would just likely to make its citizens go under then they would just regulate it so that they can have a share of the people's income through tax. Regarding major exchange hack, it has happened before that is why the advise is to not keep the coins in an exchange because once you do not hold the private key of your coin then it is not yours.

907  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: EtherDelta on: December 14, 2017, 04:57:32 AM
Can you please post an image for me to help you cause I once experience some difficulty in using EtherDelta too and my questions is:

What Ethereum wallet are you using in sending balances to EtherDelta?
How many transactions you go through? (there is 2 transaction needed, 1 for the smart contract of your token and 1 for the EtherDelta's address)

The website of EtherDelta is convenient at first but you will get used to it if you just follow the Guides in their Help dropdown.

An image of your transaction would be a big help in solving your problem. Maybe OP send directly the coin to the address provided by etherdelta and did not use the deposit tab or maybe there is another problem. At first, I am also confuse how to trade in etherdelta but then there's youtube that's why it is easy to navigate the site if the instructions are followed properly. Just always be careful when you input the amount because sometimes the difference of one zero is all it takes for you to lose your money in that exchange.
908  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much under or over do you usually price your bids? on: December 14, 2017, 04:47:13 AM
under a lot of circumstances you're most likely just better off doing a market order, at least if we're talking 'small allocations' since the slippage won't be too bad and most exchanges don't really incentivize limit orders enough (they should receive rebates or at least pay no fees since they provide liquidity to the book in my opinion).

playing against the bots is in most circumstances just a waste of time, market makers usually reposition themselves only milliseconds after you initiate your order, so even if it looks like you're the top-bidder at a point in time, you're probably not, and the website just hasn't been able to refresh at a high enough rate for you to know that you're behind.

The advantage of being the maker of the price is that you would pay lesser compared to being a taker in some exchanges. In Bittrex, I believe the trading fee for maker and taker is just the same while in other exchanges, 0.15% fee for maker while 0.25% fee for the taker that's why some would put the bid or ask price higher or lower respectively to avoid paying the higher trading fee.

As for my trading style, I would just see the potential support of the coin and put the buy order there. I don't care if it is few pages away in the order book because if my speculation would turn out to be right then I would have bigger profit.
909  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there any good news about Bitcoin from your country? on: December 14, 2017, 04:07:46 AM
In our country, there is a lot of exposure happening about bitcoin because the media is constantly tackling about it. Of course there are positive and negative feedbacks about it but the important part is that more people are investing on it. Volume is getting bigger as well as demand so the price is higher as well. Those people investing in stocks are still skeptic about it because it is not regulated while there are others who took the risk and so far they are happy about it. The government have meetings already about it regarding regulations and I think sooner or later they will regulate it to protect the investors.

912  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A friend sent me .03 BTC - what to do now? on: December 13, 2017, 05:47:47 AM
So long story short, a friend owed me for a favor and since I did not have bitcoin before he asked If I would take it in BTC. I didn't mind since I can cash out whenever.
My question is.. what do you think? Its a decent chunk of money for me to just hope something keeps rising, do you think I should "let it ride" or cash out and just be happy with ~$500?

If you don't need it at the moment then just keep it in your wallet. I believe bitcoin has some steam left for it to go up and reach new all time high again. There are so many forks happening so people would want to get some of it thought those forks are not that trending. People are more curious than ever about bitcoin and demand is getting bigger so price would follow suit. If you are conservative then you might want to cash out half of it and left half in the wallet or you might want to trade it.
913  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are Airdrops Profitable? on: December 13, 2017, 05:33:13 AM
Hi everyone. I've tried participating in a couple of airdrops but haven't gotten any coins yet. For those of you who have, how do you go about making anything out of airdrops? Is it worthwhile or just the usual pump and dump?

Some airdrops are profitable. There are just some who are just out to get your information or scam you by getting your private key but there are some that would be profitable if you will just have patience. One of the airdrops that I joined wherein its value shoot up after a few weeks is Ethereum Blue. If I would have sold it when it was distributed then I would get a few dollars but after a few weeks it rise up to more than $500 in value for 1000 coins. I got 1000 Blue from the airdrop and since it has been listed in other exchanges other than Etherdelta, price rise up. Patience does pay.
914  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Bounties (Altcoins) / Re: [AIRDROP] BCSHOP.IO ///2 BCP TOKEN WORTH $10 USD PER USER/// on: December 13, 2017, 05:18:20 AM
I like the style of your airdrop because there are many people taking advantage of the opportunity so they registered in airdrop using bots so having multiple confirmations before receiving a token is a must. I hope that you will have a successful ICO. Online selling is much more efficient and effective nowadays since majority of the people have social media accounts so it would be easier for your site to connect to the potential buyers.

917  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounties - how do they work? on: December 12, 2017, 05:33:31 AM
Also, for a newbie

Is there a set of flags or things to check for the bounty offerers? How does someone new identify that the bounty offerings make sense, trustable, wouldn't change mid-way, etc?

thanks y'all!

One of the things that I consider when joining a bounty campaign is the bounty campaign manager. Those high ranking managers are more trustworthy for me than the newbies. I check the announcement thread of the project and bounty campaign and if they provide more information especially the developers of the project and their linkedin accounts are connected to it then it would be more trustworthy. There is no sure way to detect if the bounty campaign would pay or not. It would depend on the success of their Pre-ICO or ICO if they would pay its participants.
918  Economy / Securities / Re: Any Safe 1.5% Monthly? on: December 12, 2017, 05:15:05 AM
It is not safe but holding bitcoin alone would have an interest of 1.5% monthly or more. You can even double your bitcoin investment in just a month but since bitcoin is very volatile or the cryptocurrency in general then you should invest only what you can afford to lose. It maybe always the advise that you would read but some people are just not applying it even borrowing money just to invest. Some exchange sites are offering the lending feature though like bitfinex and poloniex. I didn't try it yet but maybe you can reach 1.5% monthly interest from it.

It would be interesting to see what innovative ways you will be able to bring so that you can attract more investors and compete to the already existing sites. Anyway, good luck with your project.
