Sure, cryptocurrency is the future. I guess all forum users here believe in that. If not, cryptocurrency world won't be developing so fast and won't be expanding its audience. What we see now? Even governments begin to recognize it and explore its potential. Leading companies consider its acceptance. I doubt it would draw such a wide response, be it a waste.

yes no doubt that currently the price of bitcoin is decreasing because of a little bit panic selling int he market. i am sure that with the passage of time and specially after 1st August the price of bitcoin will start increasing.

Do you guys realize how fast these prices are going to increase when all the sheep that have been waiting get their grimey little hands on the altcoins in the last week of July? The winners and smart investors are "skipping the line" and buying now.

Some altcoins have future and survive then become a penny stocks but some might die and some are shitcoins.
Yes its easier to make altcoin but the question is this will have worth or can be listed in exchanges like bittrex and liqui.io? Include the fact that penny stocks and altcoins are a lot different like penny stocks are real while altcoin is virtual. Virtual that can be just real if it converted to fiat.

Yes Current dump is just from some new traders who don't know the basic of crypto markets and whales are quickly grabbing those cheap coins before august and after activation of segwit2x price might go beyond $3000 again within a month or two.

Just want to get some general feedback on the pros and cons of either a Buy-back or dividend strategy for ICO.

The split between ICO adopting either strategy seems to be quite evenly distributed through Buy-back might have a slight edge.

Which is your preferred strategy? Personally i think buy-back is a cleaner approach compared to distribution via dividends and i understand there are more restrictions for distribution model.

I also heard that poloniex keep all free coin for themselves, I don't know this is truth or not, maybe they should give a date for member to receive their free coin ?

I am not really excited to see the split at all, this incident will caused the price to go down sharply and the dominance of Bitcoin will be gone, Bitcoin unlimited will makes the transaction become faster but I am afraid Bitcoin splitting will makes both of the bitcoins become weak and then it will be replaced by other coin, at that point Bitcoin value will be decreasing a lot

If Segwit2x does not fail in this "first round" (July/August), then BTC will be the clear winner. Look at the bloody streets on Poloniex et al. - RIP Flippening

If Segwit2x fails - it had a bug/problem today on testnet related to the hard fork code - then anything can happen. Myself, in this case, would vote for the BIP148 fork. I think if it gets traction then, Bitcoin's price can recover fast. But if a supermajority gets on board on "Bitmaincoin" and the UASF fork is too weak, I see bloody streets like never before. The winner then will be probably Litecoin if it advances further with Lightning integration - it seems, for now, the cryptocoin that is less affected by the Great Altcoin Dump.

It is true, the crypto currency market is very young. Someday the big guys in the forex and stockmarket will join the crypto wagon. Then we will have a world transacting using blockchain.

I believe all of these have a good chance at surviving this. They all have very active teams and communities behind them, features that can be more important than unique/novel qualities. Obviously having all is the best case scenario. 

Rather than spreading fake panic informations, of course not at all explained, you should try to actually construct a bit more your idea .

Almost thirty percent drop in the last seven days... Nothing new for altcoins, but for a multibillion dollar market cap it's a lot.

BCY price was from 1-10 satoshi. It will return there. The y was lost of BCY mined by few people in fist 2 years since they did not tell others it exist.  Just google it to get exact numbers.

I'm feeling distrustful of all the altcoins, they suffer too much influence from bitcoin, if bitcoin drops, most altcoins also decrease. Zcash too.

What happened was that a rumour circulated that the founder of Ether, Vitalik Buterin died in a car accident. All their investors panicked then the value dropped. I still think it was one of their competitors that created this fake news story.

I don't think its a good idea to invest in Ether right now. Perhaps it is more stable now but I would still not suggest it. And plus, there's so many new and exciting ICO's taking place. Some of them have real potential so why no broaden your mind, do some research and invest in those. Who know's what you could get out of it. Just a thought

If you don't have to spend that amount of Bitcoin then just hold it. You don't need to be worry of being devalued because Bitcoin is still used by everyone so it can not be devalued in this time and very far future.

Hope it keeps dropping till next pay day   Then I can buy a load on the cheap.
