9001  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What did you buy for money won? on: April 13, 2017, 03:01:05 PM
Hi guys!
It's often discussed here that you can't make any money from gambling, but in general it's just not true. House edge is usually quite low so the most of the money go back to players. Of course some one wins more than he bet, some one wins less and loses in the end. It's all about luck. I am sure that the most of you was lucky at least once and made some nice money. So my question goes here: How did you spend this money? Did you buy some presents for your close ones? Did you buy something for you? Did you invested it, saved it or even put back into gambling (and then made even more or lost it?)?
Share your stories Smiley)
Cheers,
OshiHugo

Well it's true that some people make looses but there are many of us who have made some smart money. It all depends on how well you know to play your cards and earn and then spend wisely. People often do not earn and then when they earn they go in for more profits and loose. So when I last earned huge I got my self a fitness boost and brought a fitbit. This helped me to keep on track for my fitness goals. Then in my next big round I won I brought beats head phones always wanted those. Now gunning for iPhone.
9002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What keeps you coming back??? on: April 13, 2017, 12:46:27 PM
I do not gamble to much but it always seems that when I do, I take the loss big time.  For example, I have lost over 3 BTC in the BustaBit game online.  It is fun and I like to play but I always get greedy with it.  I have won about 2.2 BTC back, but I lost more than what I have won.  For some odd reason, I keep coming back over and over.  I do not know why I do it, why do you?

Passion I suppose. Then honestly you need to ask yourself what is the most valuable moment to you and then you realize it's that thrill mode between winning and loosing when you have placed your bet and the results is coming. You live your life in those 10 seconds to window that's really what is the most valuable moments. And I guess coupled with passion, I keep coming back. And then like they love what you do, do what you love and no better love than gambling.
9003  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia is a potential market? on: April 13, 2017, 12:38:11 PM
Russia is going to recognize bitcoin,so is it a potential and big market? How can I know more about Russia's market?

I am not really sure you want to enter Russian market, cause they are not just recognizing it, they are going to be putting curbs. They will make you put on record you own Bitcoins, then they make you pay a tax on it. Plus they may ask you pay fees also and then the point which worries is they may put a cap on it. They may even force you to buy it from Russia government exchange only. And if all countries follow suit, it really won't be nice at all.
9004  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't use bitcoin buying a coffee now. on: April 12, 2017, 03:24:27 PM
I used to buy a coffee from time to time with bitcoin.
But I can't use bitcoin buying a coffee now, because the fee is so high, if I keep 0.0001 fee like before, it would take days for the transaction to get confirmed, I've got a transaction which took 11 days to get the 1st confirmation last month.
It's not cost-effective any more to buy (I mean both online and buying face to face) thing via bitcoin. And this is why I quit buy coffee with bitcoin.

Coffee with Bitcoin thats so nice. Why don't you deposit a lumpsum amount in the coffee shop and continue to enjoy cofee. Or pay at the month for the coffee if the owner trusts you very well. Paying such kind of fees for coffee is not such a good idea. You may ask them for a prepaid card and have it refilled. Otherwise it shall burn a huge hole in your pocket if you continue to pay such fees.
9005  Economy / Speculation / Re: "The price of your bitcoin is 1000 times overvalued" on: April 12, 2017, 03:10:34 PM
how much does a bitcoin worth?
Some say:“Worthless. It’s just a Ponzi scheme.”
Some hail:“Priceless! It’s the future of money.”
A Chinese economist Ou Chengxiao,  often nicknamed”Ou Guru” said yesterday "The price of bitcoin is 1000 times overvalued". He believed that the value of currency is decided by its scale of circulation, or adoption. But now the lack of businesses that accept the digital currency as payment has been holding bitcoin back from wider adoption. not so many people are buying things with btc.
i am a little confused why he is so sure bitcoin price is 1000 times overvalued. why not 100? 10? why exactly 1000? Do you agree with him?

No I do not agree with him, never heard of this guy also and this statement is more of a opportunist statement rather than any factual statement. It seems he just wishes to have attention on himself and decided to make a random statement. I am 1000% sure this guy does not understand Bitcoins at all, he wanted his 2 minutes fame and you just gave him. Bitcoin is controlled by demand and supply more demand less supply price shoots up. And as far him not many people buy with Bitcoin, tell him his freney Japan has passed a bill allowing Bitcoins. And look in this forum so many people are buying with Bitcoins.
9006  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where to Invest BTC? on: April 12, 2017, 01:12:11 PM
So where should we invest bitcoin to actually earn some profit and increase the amount of bitcoin we own, is there any legit place?
I mean cloud mining is a scam but there must be something else we can actually do right?

Hey op Bitcoin is itself a investment there is no need to invest anywhere else. What you could do is keep buying at lower rates so over a period of time your btc value shall increase. Secondly this is a risky method, you can try lending it here on the forum for interest but do note it's very risky. Thirdly and which is the trend right now, people are buying alt coins since its increasing a lot and then selling for profit and coming back for Bitcoin. Don't do cloud mining, or casinos or any kind hyip scheme
9007  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 12, 2017, 08:28:54 AM
Tonight will be a very emotional match for the dortmund players to play, and I feel it will be very tough on them personally to play after what just happened yesterday. The blast would yet be fresh in their mind and I feel they will be preety nervous on the pitch, either match ends in a draw or 1 nil. Don't think it will be attacking from dortmund, but Monaco may as well be playing attacking football. It will be interesting to see how the match goes down.
9008  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russia Set to Legalize Bitcoin by 2018, Track Every Transaction on: April 12, 2017, 04:43:26 AM
Only a year ago Russia’s Finance Ministry was threatening jail time to anyone using digital currencies.

In a major U-turn, it’s now edging closer to their acceptance as a legitimate financial instrument to open a new line of attack on money laundering.

The authorities hope to recognize bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies in 2018 as they seek to enforce rules against illegal transfers, Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseev said in an interview. The central bank is developing a joint position together with the government on digital currencies, according to its press service.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-04-10/russia-caves-in-on-bitcoin-to-open-new-front-on-money-laundering

I'm not sure If I should be happy or sad since they are planning to Legalize bitcoin but in the same time, tracking transactions. I'm not entirely sure on how they plan to do it though and how It could be possible unless they are planning to run their own exchanges. I believe that Russians will need TumbleBit whenever this will happen.

I truly agree with op words whether we all should be happy that Russia is finally accepting Bitcoins, but then at what cost you are killing the freedom and that I feel is very bad. No more tax savings, no more annoyous and worst of all Decentralisation gone. One theory of mine suggests is that Russia economy is going down, by putting a tax on Bitcoins they shall be able to get a whole new revenue and shall save their own money. I do hope this does not becomes a reality, cause then USA and all major countries shall follow suit.
9009  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You can't avoid taxes by investing in bitcoin on: April 11, 2017, 04:43:15 PM
If you think investing in bitcoin or a similar “crypto-currency” may be a good method for hiding income from the tax man, you’d better think again.
http://nypost.com/2017/04/08/no-you-cant-avoid-taxes-by-investing-in-bitcoin/

I am smelling something good here with the news. If the government declared about how peoples can't avoid the taxes by investing in bitcoin, it means directly or indirectly government said that they recognize the existence of bitcoin and how it can be profitable to invest.

If you read the article it's only says Irs wants people to declare it under the form, but it's clearly evident they are helpless as they cannot do anything as they will. Never know who uses Bitcoins. So contrary to op and article Bitcoin is yet tax free, until you are foolish and decided to show them. The only thing here I agree with op is that, the government has started accepting Bitcoins. This should be good news and let's hope they start accepting Bitcoins as a second currency that would be nice.
9010  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 11, 2017, 10:48:04 AM
Today's T20 match is between Rising Pune Supergiant and Delhi Daredevils. DD lost first two matches and eagerly waiting for to earn points from this match but Pune lost one match only. Looks like today Pune will win this match.

Another cricket match between West Indies and Pakistan 3rd one day game. Now series is level and both teams will fight hard to lead this series. But most for of good WI players are playing in IPL so it will be hard time for WI team.

I don't see Delhi winning the match tonight, they don't have the killer players to win the match. It will require some crazy efforts to win it. Plus if you see Pune is very strong on paper at least. West Indies and Pakistan another great game on the card, very difficult to say who can win, as WI even without their valuable players won and I feel can yet go onto win it. Though Pakistan team won't let them have the victory easily.
9011  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Which Sport Do u Like to Bet? on: April 11, 2017, 08:06:49 AM
I just wonder which sport bitcointalk users bet for?

My favarite is always football. I dont know other sports except basketball. Football is passion for me. I love watch a good match and bet for it. My team is Besiktas. Do u remember Besiktas-Benfica champions league match? First half Benfica 3 | 0 Besiktas. That was my worst moment. I hate life in those moments and 15 minutes like 15 hours. It doesnt pass. Then second half started. Cenk Tosun scored amazing goal. 1-3. Querasma scored a penalty goal 2-3 and Aboubakar scored 3-3 that was my best moment. You see, i live a nightmare 45 min. ago then i live a dream like all Besiktas fans after epic turnback. Football is not just football.

So what is ur sport for betting? You can choose 2 sports.

For me it's always and always will be Cricket and Football. Cricket is easy to understand all it takes a while to make good calculations, like what's the team like, weather conditions, last five matches stats, who's tipped to win. Then you need to call upon your gut and take a call. Secondly football is my favorite, you can mostly get it right by reading in the confidence of the teams, manager comments, who's stronger and in form, only then one can make some money.
9012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Europa League/Champions League Lounge on: April 11, 2017, 04:59:42 AM
Apprentice vs the Master Bayern vs Real the club that sacked him now he has the perfect opportunity to give it back to him, but with Zidane job on the line and so are some of the players who could be sold if they don't perform, it's really going to be either a very attacking match, or a very slow boring draw. I don't see any one team dominating. As far Barcelona Vs Juve it could all come down to individual brilliance. Both teams want to. Win badly both have the players to do so.
9013  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What were your experiences with Bitcoin when you first started? on: April 10, 2017, 05:27:59 PM
It was kind of weird to be honest, I. Really did not understand this coins that would just rise and it kept on rising, though I came to know as early as 2010, and post that it was kind of regret that I missed not buying it earlier. Though post that it was wonderful it just kept on rising and I was able to do many wonderful things post that. I love it and now I just can't stop using it, I also introduce many people thanks to my experience. I feel all should just join and keep on enjoying.
9014  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Snapchat first investor thinks bitcoin could realistically be worth $500,000 on: April 10, 2017, 12:08:23 PM
In the long run his words will be forgotten, it's a very big assumption and I feel he is doing it to hike the btc price which he has in order to sell his Bitcoins and get out. I don't think this is a reality especially with BU and Segwit. As far the number based maybe he's taken from the exchanges or just decided to quote a random number knowing very well no one can find the truth. I would be more than to Happy if the price reach half or 3/4 also
9015  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: April 10, 2017, 10:55:27 AM
Well it's simple it's cashless, can be used anywhere in the world or instantly you can get cash for it. It's price always rises while cash remains stagnant. It's simply easy ans highly secure to use. It easy to convert, saves our Fiat and gives us tax benefits. I feel your friend was a. Noon on this topic would advise you to bring him to this forum so he can earn more and next time he treats you with his Bitcoin earning.
9016  Economy / Speculation / Re: 1 Bitcoin Worth Is 1000000$ on: April 10, 2017, 08:15:18 AM
Your concept that bitcoin is controlled by demand and supply is right but to believe that if people stop selling it will go to million, who in the world will buy it have your ever thought of it. People will stop buying and price shall crash and it shall crash badly ever thought of that. You should aim to be more realistic rather look ignorant. The prices are quiet high maybe a few 1000 $ plus more is nice but I doubt that will happen cause of bu and segwit looming.
9017  Other / Off-topic / Re: should i start my own bitcoin forum? on: April 10, 2017, 04:34:06 AM
It's a bad idea op. I don't agree with you on this Idea. Firstly you should know Satoshi was here on this very forum. Secondly this is the most trusted forum and most of the legendary members can be trusted out here. A forum is not all about posts, it's the users, and I will tell you why it's a bad idea. Say you build a forum say bitcoinnew for example, you will have to pay a decent amount to get all features of this forum plus all new you would want to add. You will have to spend heavy on marketing to get users, but how will your users deal? No trusted escrow, all scammers and boom in a while it will end. To stop that you will give pay per post and end up in curing heavy expenses. What I would suggest is why don't you donate to this forum here instead.
9018  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread (EPL) on: April 09, 2017, 04:46:03 PM
And as I had said earlier Manchester United would win and they would win nicely they made me some decent profits. And then there were fools who doubted that Manchester United would win and even decided to put money on Sunderland. The manager started the game with negative statements what was expected. I do feel a sack is coming for moves yet again, don't know what's wrong with him but he just isn't the right guy for any team right now.
9019  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has no competition on: April 09, 2017, 04:42:47 PM
I don't think op words now hold true. As hard it is to. Believe that last year it was only Bitcoins and now there are so. Many alt coins that have taken over and it's really passing of that these coins are gaining because of that stupid Bitcoin unlimited. ETHERUM and Monore has gained a lot and is posting some serious problems for Bitcoins. If the hard folk does take place it will be a end to Bitcoin and all this alt coins shall rise and rise. I yet don't own this alt coins, but many have made good profits in it already.
9020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: April 09, 2017, 11:32:17 AM
Will MS Dhoni last this Ipl with pune, as I woke up twitter was buzzing with the comments of pune owners, I feel there should be a bet on this two. As it's night here will wake up right in time for Mumbai Indian match and I feel they shall be in a rude shock the way Kolkata have started it, I feel it's very difficult for a easy Victor for Mumbai Indians. What do you all suggest go all in for Kolkata or play during the match. Let me know I am planning to start on Kolkata.
