I like that image  Grin

Considering the seriousness of the situation it was nice to have a chill-out moment.
9062  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcointalk Magazine on: October 15, 2019, 08:34:48 PM
I am planing to create something like a information portal related to this forum. What will be a good domain form that?

btlknews.com ?

bitcointalknews.com ?

?

As basic as it might seem, what about trying something like this? It keeps the same name so users make the association with the forum:

bitcointalk.guide
bitcointalk.page
bitcointalk.tube
bitcointalk.pro

9063  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [IEO] coming soon on Cryptoknowmics   on: October 15, 2019, 08:13:00 PM
Too many red flags with this token sale: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5193216

Excluding the obvious sock-puppets and paid shills, everybody else should beware and not participate in the token sale if they stumble upon this thread

Update OP to add cryptoknowmics token sale

AVOID
Cryptoknowmics
TOKEN SALE

Not all scams are obvious and not all scams are equal. Scams have many parameters and scammers have a wide array of tools at their disposal in order to carry out their scam but the object is the same - to steal. They will use every trick and option in the book from blatant lying to being economical with the truth and from misdirection to propaganda to name a few.

BITCOINTALK FORUM:
This is the cryptoknowmic token sale announcement thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5168732.0

I noticed this being promoted in a user showing personal text: "Cryptoknowmics - World's First Decentralized Media" along with a Cryptoknowmics signature. I decided to look in to it and found some interesting things:

- The first 3 pages (first 59 post) are all from newbies
- post #60 is from a Snr Member
- posts #61 to #80 are all from newbies
- post #81 is from a Jnr Member
- posts #82 to #100 are all from newbies

If I am not mistaken it shows 98 out of the first 100 posts in their official announcement thread are from newbies.

It almost carried on that way throughout the 54 pages that currently exist, all the way to the last page. Using newbie accounts, sock-puppets and paid shills to pump any thread gives an indication about the mindset of the team behind the project.

If they are so desperate for your investment they need their army of sock-puppets and paid shills to pump their thread with propaganda, then it is better to skip past them and find a different investment opportunity that has an honest team and are trustworthy.

A special thanks to trusted and respected user nutildah because we can see by the feedback he left for some of the sock-puppets and paid shills that "Vitor Services" is behind the team-for-hire trying to generate fake buzz and trying to spread propaganda in the hope of fooling newbies and gullible investors in to parting with their cash and buying in to this scam token sale.

Update 16th October 2019: I checked the first 20 pages and pages 49+50 of their announcement thread and found 168 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services. I also added their official user accounts CKM and Cryptoknowmic to my list below.

Update 22th October 2019: There are now 359 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash.

Update 28th October 2019: There are now 409 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash.

Update 1st November 2019: There are now 440 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

Update 5th November 2019: There are now 460 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

Update 18th December 2019: There are now 678 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

Update 26th December 2019: There are now 742 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

Update 3rd January 2020: There are now 795 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

Update 13th January 2020: There are now 833 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

Update 5th February 2020: There are now 1035 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

Update 25th February 2020: There are now 1069 accounts that are associated with pumping for hire services that have been purchased by the cryptoknowmics team to spread propaganda by pumping this trash

If I have calculated correctly, the first 200 posts in the official Cryptoknowmics thread have been dominated by 168 sock-puppet accounts associated with "Vitor Services" promoters-for-hire. Those sock-puppet accounts have made a staggering 192 posts out of those first 200 posts and I still have another 30 pages of that thread I might check but since the scam is obvious what is the point?

You will notice the ~ before each user, this is because if anybody wants to copy and paste them all in to their trust settings it makes it a little easier. you will have to remove the ~ if you want to copy and paste the users to your INGORE list instead of adding them one by one (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile and then click "Ignore user options"):

CRYPTOKNOWMICS WEBSITE:
Next we look at the cryptoknowmic.io website. Some very important things stand out. First the terms and conditions looking at what it states and what is leaves out: https://www.cryptoknowmics.io/terms-of-use

This has to be listed amongst some of the most pathetic Terms and Conditions that I have read. The team behind this charade have listed nothing in the Terms and Conditions to identify who they are and which jurisdiction they fall within, they also make no mention of which jurisdiction and legal action will take place in the event they decide to sue an investor or vice-versa.

There is no LLC/LTD, ownership or incorporation listed but this is definitely not a mere accident or it being an unfortunate overlook/error. This is done deliberately by many websites seeking crypto investors, it is rife and the purpose is to hide behind anonymity so when/if things go wrong (or deliberate scams take place) the owners/operators can only be traced with great difficulty.

website terms and conditions:

CRYPTOKNOWMICS WHITEPAPER:
Their whitepaper is no better: https://www.cryptoknowmics.io/ckm-whitepaper.pdf

CRYPTOKNOWMICS COMPANY ADDRESS:
Even though they avoided putting their company name and address on their terms and conditions for the token sale website, what these people did was to add a London, UK address on their website:

27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom and show it as their registered office.

Currently there are 831 companies registered at that address: https://www.companieshousedata.co.uk/a/69

With the exception of 1stchoice Company Formations Ltd and a few others, there are no physical companies with staff that work there but currently over 800 companies are registered there. They hire the address "27 Old Gloucester Street, London, WC1N 3AX, United Kingdom" for just £36 per year which is around 41 EUR per year or $46 USD per year: https://www.1stchoice-formations.co.uk/london-address-services/

[1] Now, since I did not find the company name I had to search around and found their Twitter account with a huge, massive fan following of a whopping 199 followers. There it mentioned the domain "cryptoknowmics.com" rather than "cryptoknowmics.io". And in the Terms and Conditions of "cryptoknowmics.com" it mentioned "Cryptoknowmics Ltd": https://twitter.com/Cryptoknowmic

UK COMPANY REGISTRAR:
All companies registered in England and Wales (UK) must be registered at Companies House.

A quick search shows the company was registered/incorporated on 28th June 2019: https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/12074503

Here are two of the most damning pieces of information that should completely dissuade investors. First the shareholding value and then second, the nationality and residence of the owners:

https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/12074503/officers
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/12074503/filing-history
https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/12074503/officers

In its filing history pdf it clearly shows Akhil Aggarwal as owning 80 shares at just £1 each and Abhishek Gupta owns 20 shares at £1 each. The company has a total nominal share value of just £100 (which is around 115 EUR and around $127 USD)

They are Indian citizens, with Indian nationalities and reside in India. Effectively they have no connection to London, UK except that anybody anywhere in the world can "register" a company in the UK without ever stepping foot there or even having an office or business.

The same process can easily take place between residents of one country and them opening incorporations elsewhere such as off-shore.

SUMMARY:
The fact they deliberately never made things clear about where the team would be based, as well as a host of other important factors, these people cannot be trusted. They deliberately put out enough information to make potential investors believe they were a UK based business with a UK based team. They are nothing of the sort.

There have been other examples in this forum where ID was used from countries outside the UK to register companies within the UK, all the while with stolen or misused ID. I am not stating that is what happened here but what I am stating is there are far too many red flags here including the obvious and desperate use of sock-puppets and newbies to pump 49 pages or trash in to the official thread.

With this evidence on hand everybody is advised to avoid this Cryptoknowmics token sale.

9066  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Harmony. +800% after IEO on: October 15, 2019, 06:32:54 PM

Why is Harmony supposed to be impressive, either the project itself or the price?

The website shows a typical template ICO style layout and the price, well it peaked on 6th June 2019 at 0.00000382 BTC but now at just 0.00000077 BTC

On 30th June 2019 it had a market capital of $53.9 million but today has a value of just $16 million

The inevitable dump post IEO was always going to play a big part in any project regardless of what they claim to offer or what the project is about.
9067  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Would you invest in Mining Company IEO? on: October 15, 2019, 06:25:04 PM
Mintmine is doing a mining IEO. Mining, unlike some other crypto niche is extremely profitable.

Has anyone else done a mining IEO before? How did tokens perform?

At first glance I thought you were referring to mining as in digging for minerals and other commodities.

In short, no I would not invest in mining of any sort. All the power and statistics are consolidated in the hands of a few people behind the project and it is extremely untrustworthy to get in to unless there is 100% transparency. Which mining projects are there out there and how many had ICOs/IEOs/STOs ?

9068  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] DIMCOIN The Future Of Equity on the Blockchain on: October 15, 2019, 05:50:26 PM
Dimcoin website shows: Currently undergoing maintenance

Does anybody know how long the website has been down?

There is a 24 hour volume of just $824 and a total market capital of just $209,000

The whole project was a shambles from the beginning, probably a way for the owners to get rich from the ICO without even thinking about the business properly.

9069  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: BEWARE OF SUPER SCAM: P2PB2B claim to be worlds biggest exchange ! on: October 15, 2019, 04:37:26 PM
To be honest i am not surprised to see these kind of numbers on CMC, it happened before as well, with some 2nd grade exchanges having ridiculously high volume, or even being on top like in this case.
CMC unfortunately  became almost useless, as it gives skewed picture of exchanges volume, and might trick inexperienced traders into using them, especially now when IEOs are very popular thing, so those shady exchanges are pumping volume in order to attract projects.

CMC is still a good website, lots of information but they should consider blocking their API to scammers such as p2pb2b and its sister company coinsbit.

The pumping and obvious deceit these exchanges put out on Coinmarketcap is having a detrimental effect on investors, it plays in to the hands of scam exchanges that are pumping out fake IEOs taking place on their scam exchanges.
9070  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC blocks Telegram with its $1.7 Billion token sale on: October 15, 2019, 03:15:00 PM
They are getting more and more crazy with this amounts of money!
They saw new way to take money from people easy and it is not called TAX

I don't support Telegram and Gram coin in any way, but this is just getting silly

I agree this is really getting silly. Things did not have to get to this stage.

What sort of example are the SEC setting and also why did Telegram go ahead with the $1.7 billion token share before they approached the SEC and made some sort of deal where they could satisfy all requirements put to them?
9071  Economy / Gambling / Re: Invest in the bankroll - BetKing.io - Bitcoin weekly wager contest on: October 15, 2019, 03:07:51 PM
Hmmmm what's betking telegram channel again?
Is it gone?

I can't access to betking website too
Are they having maintenance do anyone have any idea?
There is no maintenance. The website is down.

The official betking Telegram died a long time ago: @betking_io

Serial scammer Dean Nolan has his own Telegram: @DeanBK

something confuses me here
If his website is offline, how they know that is your account, and how they know how much funds you trying to withdraw?
Serial scammer Dean Nolan has access to the database so he does not need to access anything from the DB using the betking.io domain.

This error page is from Cloudflare service. Service between website and visitors. Betking.io hosting is offline: https://isthissitedown.net/betking.io
I don't know how it looks his admin back-end on Betking, but he says:
Quote
I don't have access to anything right now
But still offering to send 20.6LTC and 1.5ETH (around $1500). What if I send an email also and ask to send me 1BTC, how do they know if I really have 1btc which I try to withdraw?
It seems serial scammer Dean Nolan has paid the requested 20.6 LTC: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ltc/address.dws?LLx7MAtdmpoNMtYfZ36qMYsL7ammVkkh7Y.htm

The error is generated because the betking host has configuration issues, it was probably updated (libraries, etc) rather than serial scammer Dean Nolan messing around with the code as he is a hopeless coder but either way he has no idea how to "fix" it. He probably is trying to get a coder from Phillipines or India that would charge $5 per hour to log in to the server and "fix" the issue.
9072  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [FLAGGED] [scam] BetKing.io broke ICO promise and dropped token value 99% on: October 15, 2019, 11:45:03 AM

Serial scammer Dean Nolan claims to be dealing with an emergency and cannot "fix" the site.

It seems he has paid the complainant the outstanding 20.6 LTC: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/ltc/address.dws?LLx7MAtdmpoNMtYfZ36qMYsL7ammVkkh7Y.htm

And he has renewed the betking.io domain which now expires in October 2020 but dealing with an emergency and not having time to "fix" the website and failure to get it up and running is just another massive failure or responsibility by this serial scammer Dean Nolan.

Where are the army of investors that stayed "loyal" to this imbecile serial scammer Dean Nolan and believed in his vision to take betking back to the heights of 2016? I suggest they get back together for discussion and this time take that final step and go through with taking legal action.
9073  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io is a blatant scam operated by Dean Nolan on: October 15, 2019, 11:17:27 AM
Was one of the first players on PocketRockets back when they had Chinese Poker. (6 years ago maybe?)  Dean always seemed like a good guy to me.  Sad to see the crap he's pulled in the last year.

Things went downhill from December 2016 onwards when he closed the betking website after his voluntary and unilateral decision to return the bankroll to investors.

The period of pocketrocketcasino and its transition to betking all that period pre-December 2016 was a golden time for betking but he got greedy. He decided to return bankroll funds to investors because he thought he would make a huge profit simply by using the betking name to seek investors for an ICO rather than share profits with bankroll investors and that was after he tried to sell the website on numerous occasions but failed and his his first attempt at raising ICO funds failed:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1676311.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1697106.0

It was his greed that got the better of him. Sure, by the time the site was up and running after the ICO in September 2017 the investors had not realised that all the game players had abandoned betking and were using Bustabit, Bustadice, Stake and Primedice and some smaller websites. Nobody was interested in betking any more. Not only did serial scammer Dean Nolan siphon-off ICO funds to his own back pocket he also stole funds that the ICO promotional material clearly showed were to be used for designing, promotional, legal and other things.

At no stage were any of the 100 million ICO tokens (70 million were public sale and 30 million for to be retained by betking) supposed to be owned by serial scammers Dean Nolan:

50% of ICO funds (which equated to +500 BTC, +2250 ETH and +425 LTC) were supposed to be used for "marketing, promotions, SEO, design development, server costs and legal"
30 million BKB tokens that betking retained for "ICO bounties, testing bounties, advisors, hiring, future marketing and development"

The serial scammer imbecile slipped up when he admitted he stole the 30 million BKB tokens that were supposed to be retained for "ICO bounties, testing bounties, advisors, hiring, future marketing and development":

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1974926.msg20350022#msg20350022

and here an excellent post by marlboroza: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4751127.msg44790903#msg44790903

The list of his scam is HUGE but the fact is just the 30 million BKB that serial scammer Dean Nolan scammed at the guaranteed buy-back rate of $0.0928 means he stole a minimum $2.784 MILLION and brought betking to its knees when he deliberately used the ICO bankroll funds to use in the buy-back because he wanted to sell those stolen 30 million BKB.

As for all the other ways he siphoned-off funds by pretending to use them on "developers" and "marketing" shows serial scammer Dean Nolan is and always will be a conniving little thief.

I was warning investors about the betking ICO in 2017 but people did not take me seriously just because serial scammer Dean Nolan returned 6000 in bankroll funds to the people that they belonged t, as though he deserved a pat on the back for that:

Wait this image, is it from CMC?
If yes then we must say that the stats CMC providing is very wrong LOL
How come they?!

Edit:
LOL yeah
https://coinmarketcap.com/rankings/exchanges/
Really!

So basically those scam exchanges are sending fake volume through their API. They should be banned by CMC.

I hope Coinmarketcap start clamping down on these types of scammers that send fake data just to try to show prospective users they are bigger than they really are because they want to scam.

The fake claim is unbelievable. For this scam outfit to claim to be the worlds biggest exchange is beyond any words....

It seems at least one user has 26.24 LTC scammed by serial scammer Dean Nolan

The betking.io website has been down nearly all day today

No announcement has been made about what is going on

The betking Telegram has been closed for many weeks

Maybe the serial scammer owner Dean Nolan finally ran off with whatever funds he could get of from the EOS tokens along with the millions of US$ he siphoned-off from the 2017 ICO

9076  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io is a blatant scam operated by Dean Nolan on: October 14, 2019, 08:43:25 PM
Well, well, well..... the betking.io website has been down for around 9 hours.

Adding to the situation regarding the website being down for a prolonged period, the last time serial scammer Dean Nolan (owner of betking.io) even logged in to this forum was on: 28th September 2019

Is this the end game for betking and its serial scammer owner Dean Nolan?

There has been no announcement and none of his buddies that backed him up are posting here explaining what is going on

The betking Telegram is dead

At least one user is complaining about not receiving 26.24 LTC that serial scammer Dean Nolan is not releasing

Does anybody have any concrete information about why the website is down?

9077  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SEC blocks Telegram with its $1.7 Billion token sale on: October 14, 2019, 03:39:56 PM
I totally disagree with this decision SEC always took action very late against big ICOs why not they awake on the right time and now again people will lost their money without getting any refund. This is really unprofessional behavior what happening in this case because SEC has fishy track record.

Before Telegram started their private sale, SEC had long hinted that they will go after crypto crowdfundings. That is why you see many ICOs before barring US citizens from participating in their token sale. Telegram knew that and the risk involve but they still took it. I'm not saying what the SEC is doing is good either, they probably targeted telegram because of that huge money coming from US investors.

Yes the SEC could have easily made a decision a very long time ago but for them to do it at the 11th hour to a project that raised $1.7 billion is beyond a monumental PR failure for both Telegram and the SEC.
~
It probably took them time to figure that out but who knows? It could also be their strategy to kill telegram for whatever reason.

They probably have no intention of killing Telegram but they do have some sort of agenda. It might be to show others out there the power lay with the SEC.

Something does not stack up. Why did the SEC pull the rug from under Telegram and its TON/GRAM at such a late stage? With 44% of the tokens being offered and all being taken up by investors it will make so many problems for them and their investors.

Excellent post.  Thank you for posting that here.

I have pokerowned (and several others) on IGNORE as I cannot be bothered to read their trash but had to UNIGNORE him to read the posts in the threads you linked.  What I noticed immediately was that the style he used when posting in those threads is completely different to the way he posts now. I suspect the account may have been sold or is being used by someone other than the person that posted in the threads you linked above.

Keeping that aside, I cannot see any relation between the OP in this thread (TillKoeln) and any scam in the links and am still willing to give the benefit of the doubt to until I read serious allegations against him or his exchange but that does not negate the serious concerns of running an exchange without amending terms and conditions to show ownership details.

9079  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Nova Exchange is closed on: October 14, 2019, 03:21:59 PM
I was forced to used these small exchanges (nova, tradesatoshi, coinexchange etc.) due to coin availability. If there's any other decent choices, I wouldn't go for it.
So, I don't mind if they close one by one. My only concern is that, I hope they'll secure their email database and not to sell off to random people who would send spam/shady emails.

Many people are in the same boat as you, users end up using those types of exchanges because of coin availability.

I agree with you, I certainly do not mind if these types of exchanges close one by one as logn as it leaves genuine trustworthy exchanges out there to choose from.
9080  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Cryptopia Cryptocurrency Platform Services and Development on: October 14, 2019, 03:18:13 PM
Lesson learned - not your keys, not your coins. if you leave coins at an exchange, it's on you.

Yes that should really be a golder rule to be honest.

I said on many occasions and reiterate the point, the only time your coins should be in an exchange is when you need to trade. As soon as the trade is complete send them back to your desktop wallet.
This Gold Rule is very late for many like me as I lost some good amount and now losing all hopes as time is running out its look like its never happen again so from now will use this never keep any coin on any exchange for safety otherwise you have only depression and lost.

Sorry to read about you being one of many Cryptopia victims.

Whatever your next step, proceed with care and make sure you only send crypto to an exchange for trading and remove them to your desktop immediately afterwards. It will save a lot of hassle if the exchange goes under.
