9081  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What can we do to minimise the risk in trading on: April 19, 2020, 01:11:07 PM
Also:
4. Trade only where there's good liquidity.
5. Make sure you have set stop loss at least when you sleep.
9082  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 100 ETH Puzzle by CPDProject.com! on: April 18, 2020, 09:22:32 PM
Only half an hour for 100 ETH? That seems too low. No? Roll Eyes

I had no other idea. Nothing much else to do.
Unfortunately the prize goes to the one who finds the key, not to the one with most time spent on it.
9083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [Translators] List of Bitcointalk Translators on: April 18, 2020, 08:18:51 PM
Thanks @irfan_pak10 for maintaining this and thanks for the heads up to keep the list of translations up to date.
I'm available.
9084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why we are not having more houes like freebitco.in[unique cases of freebitco.in] on: April 18, 2020, 12:54:28 PM
Freebitco.in is not only running for long time. It pays its users, although at times the users thought the reward is low. And with Bitcoin so high (compared to 6-7 years ago) the amounts to earn and to withdraw have obviously changed a lot.

The gambling and various contests make the users keep the earnings rolling in-house which makes much less Bitcoins to have to be actually paid.
They've added deposits at some point, becoming more a gambling site than a faucet. There were voices telling that the games are not as fair as advertised but I don't know if the accusations have substance. But they signal that the amounts played and lost may not be negligible.

It's difficult to make such a business as freebitco.in because of its history.
freebitco.in has started as a faucet and when the owner got enough money (also because Bitcoin rose so much in its history) he afforded to also try to get into gambling business.

Today, if one has the funds, knowledge and willing for a gambling website, he'll focus on making a great gambling site. Having a proper faucet will only drain money with no benefit if the casino is successful.
Instead, if one makes a faucet, he most probably doesn't have money for a proper house to also have a casino, so he'll stick to faucet small business.
9085  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Live 2.1.0, 2.2.0, 2.2.3 Installers and Uninstallers flagged as Malware on: April 18, 2020, 10:15:12 AM
Maybe it's time to move to some better HW.

I find this a bit unfair. The device is still OK.
I've used Ledger Live only for install/uninstall things. I'm too used to Electrum to drop it.
Other wallets (MEW, for example) also work fine with Ledger.

So I'd only drop Ledger Live as a wallet. (Well, I don't even have to.)

Apparently this problem was/is only present on devices where Windows Defender is active.

Indeed Comodo Internet Security never complained.
9086  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: April 17, 2020, 09:25:59 AM
If you have left 0.024 GOLD, then there should not be daily charges.

There were charges last night, I don't know if they were related to the fact some hours before I still had GOLD in the wallet or not.
However, I've moved away the small amount so I cannot check further.

Now we charge only from the wallets with more than 1 GOLD on it.

Please write this at least into the fees page Wink

I'm glad if my comment did help. Keep up the good work GOLD team!
9087  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥BITSLER > $20,000 Wagering contest + $5,000 Free challenges + Cashback/Chests on: April 17, 2020, 08:43:11 AM
If Bitsler really were interested about those that were victims of betking in a wider-ranging manner of helping, they could have completely disassociated with the person central to the betking scam which sadly cost many people a lot of money.

I think that Bitsler made a well calculated step. They may gain some gamblers, also quite some of that redeemed money will get gambled away at Bitsler... and their name is spoken even more, which is advertising.
I don't think that such big percent of the gamblers have the same strong feelings about Betking (especially now as they get their money back) so it's more a plus than a minus for Bitsler.
(Of course, it's my opinion and I'm only human, so I may be wrong.)
9088  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: April 17, 2020, 08:27:22 AM
I didn't say that it is in TOS. I said that if it is than it's 100% fair. If not than it should be added. You have transaction limits, withdrawal limits all around the exchanges/gambling sites. 50$ min withdrawal is not fair. 5$ is fairer than in most services. Not only binance.

The small exchanges expect users have low value tokens and small tiny value investments and do such trades. I've already exchanged my remaining 1$ worth of GOLD into Bitcoin (!!).
Binance indeed has higher limits, but also offers the exchange into BNB of everything close enough to dust.
It's also well known that coins like Dogecoin or Ripple can be easily used to transport tiny amounts out of exchanges.
So all is possible with a tiny bit of imagination.

However, GOLD has to have this info written down. And from my research it's not. I wrote that they have to do something. Updating the TOS and the Fees pages is a valid option.

I didn't. The tone of my speech can be misleading because English is not my native language.

OK. Then I'll consider as a valid change of opinions. Your idea about ToS was good.
9089  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns [Last update: 12-Apr-2020] on: April 17, 2020, 08:15:58 AM
OWNR campaign is paused now. No word of what'll happen next.

Week 7 Payment have sent. Thanks all for your great works.

OWNR wallet needs some tech update and they want to make a little pause this signature campaign, and they will come back soon as they have said to me. So the campaign is now paused . Now you feel free to remove your signature.
9090  Economy / Gambling / Re: BetKing.io Refunds - Partnership with Bitsler on: April 17, 2020, 08:12:10 AM

Finally a good move. Bitsler reputation is beyond doubt and this may help a little in clearing your name, after that messy situation (although don't expect this happen overnight!)
9091  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 100 ETH Puzzle! on: April 17, 2020, 08:00:05 AM
This is even harder than the one been hosted by Phemex and if no hints to be given I think no user/s will ever solve the puzzle. I think this was just some sort of advertisement on their platform hoping it wouldn't be turn out to be the same by the above exchange which many thinks it's really unsolvable, I'll be a watcher by now until a hint/s are out.

Indeed. I've spent about half an hour trying to play in Photoshop, changing colors to find some hidden clues, I've tried to use certain list of bytes from inside the file as private key, no luck. I gave up.
9092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: April 17, 2020, 07:37:38 AM
0.001 Gold is equal to 5 cents. I think that it is more than fair minimal fee for storing gold.

So if one has 1$ worth of GOLD he cannot do much with it and will be considered donation?

Even exchanges like binance has minimum trade size set to 0.001 BTC (~7$).

And still some exchanges work with much lower limits. Getting only the examples that suit you don't prove anything.

If both of those information are in TOS than I don't see more fair solution.

Can you please point this in TOS? I didn't find it.

PS. I was trying to help GOLD team to improve, because if I've seen this, others will see it too. I don't want to argue unnecessarily, but it seems that you do. My point is that math is math and should work the same for big or small values. The exceptions should be written down and easy to be found.
9093  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: April 16, 2020, 08:36:08 PM
With these day of nice growth of GOLD price, I got to see myself how storage fee works and I think I've seen a problem.

The website tells that the fee is 0.0027% per day.
I had 5.94 GOLD and although the calculation would say:
fee = 5.94 * 0.0027 / 100 = 0.00016038 GOLD,
my wallet was paying 0.001 GOLD, which is 6 times more.

I'm also curious that since now I have only 0.024 GOLD (which I hoped I can convert into some ETH change for gas and I've seen late that it's under the minimum limit) I'll still pay 0.001 GOLD / day?
I think that some fine tuning is necessary. And yes, I know that you have only 3 decimal places and the contract is live, so I don't know what a fair solution would be.

9094  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTB] Stimulus Check on: April 16, 2020, 04:48:13 PM
Afaik it contains too much private information. I'm not convinced that the idea is feasible. Good luck though and let us know if you manage to acquire one  Smiley
9095  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: SCHEMES WHICH NEWBIES NEEDED TO AVOID. on: April 16, 2020, 10:36:12 AM
At a first check this seems to be missing from the list:

Another typical scam is where you are required to deposit an amount of money in order to withdraw an alleged bigger amount.
Sometimes the scam comes with people asking for your help to withdraw or even to loan them for the withdraw.
Obviously, if the "displayed" amount would be real, a part of it would be available for the fees.
9096  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 16, 2020, 09:00:37 AM
7th WO/7k again, this is fine.

Nice green dildo, but I'm with LFC_Bitcoin on this: with such fuel 8k may be not too hard to reach today.
9097  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 16, 2020, 08:54:04 AM
Dollar getting weaker against which currency?
EUR with the EU on the brink of a breakup due to massive debt and GBP shinking? Failing political action?
JPY? already crowded trade.
UK? Tiny Island alone in the world producing...... (insert something here please as anything comes to my mind)
CHF r' u kidding right?

Where USA imports oil from? Europe/Japan/UK/...(I don't know if you really meant Switzerland CHF or Chinese CNY)? No.
How about .. SAR maybe? At least that's what I meant.
9098  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 16, 2020, 08:40:31 AM

The only result of this would be a huge inflation for US Dollar and I am (almost) sure this is not going to happen.
As if inflation were a bad thing in THEIR mind.
High inflation means real value of debt that is strangling economies goes down.
High inflation means stock market up (equities are resilient from inflation. In Mugabe's Zimbawe when hyperinflating stock market was actually UP.

Poor people even poorer?
Well.. not their problem.

It is a problem also in their mind. Not because of poor people, clearly.
It's because US Dollar getting weaker means the imported gas price goes up. If gas price goes up their voters will not be happy.
And all they care for is to keep their "job", meaning to not lose votes.
9099  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 16, 2020, 08:20:06 AM
This Helicopter money shit is getting out of hands:

Proposal: You Get A $2,000 Stimulus Check Every Month

This sound like a political idiotic request.
$1200 once was ... hmmm.
$2000 a month is more than many most working people on Earth use(d) to receive as salary.
The only result of this would be a huge inflation for US Dollar and I am (almost) sure this is not going to happen.

NeuroticFish, it probably depends on whether you are promoting a paid product/service or something like crypto exchange which is free to use. People still consider an investment of say $50 in hardware wallet expensive, but at the same time they buy a new $500 + smartphone, and then we read stories how "my 1 BTC disappeared from my desktop/mobile wallet".

I already wrote that I was advertising Ledger hardware wallet, so I don't understand what you mean / what I've missed.

Personally, I find the signature spot on our forum a very powerful way of advertising, what can i say from my experience when I promoted a crypto exchange in the past. It was a paid campaign, but it allowed ref links, so in a few months I collected over 300 referrals, which have brought me passive profits for years.

Yep, I agree on this 100%. The only downside would be the fact OP is newbie (signature limitations and possible trust issues), but yes, this forum is a good place.
One problem in my logic was that I was thinking on advertising in other places too, since the world is bigger than this forum; but there people weren't interested or I was doing it wrong.
Yep, using the bitcointalk signature space like that definitely worth a try.
