9141  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will increase 20X in the next 5 years on: December 19, 2020, 10:55:00 AM
For many of us 3-5 years is so far in the future and might be a long time to continue to hodl.
I am just going to be realistic when i say that I think many people will have a hard time to not sell your Bitcoin if the price is $100,000.
And then if the price gets to for example $250,000 I think many of us will sell quickly since this is for everyone some life changing money.

Agreed. 5 years is doable for me, I've anyway been psychologically prepared to wait at least that time before considering my position, dividing up what I have and inheritance and all that, but I will admit 100k will be difficult to ignore, seeing as that's more than a small fortune back home. Would wipe out all family debt, and that alone is something worth considering seriously. Life changing decision for sure but it would be a headache I'd love to have!
9142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 19, 2020, 10:12:06 AM
Who’s ready to do battle again tomorrow? I’m coming for those higher positions now. Your boy LFC_Bitcoin gave you all a head start by having a bad first 10 or so matchweeks but I am coming now  Tongue Wink

**Fighting talk**

You and me both. I've got a silly big bet down on a 2-leg acca (Spurs already hit) and Palace at just over 35/10 so looking very much forward to taking that home for a pre-Christmas bankroll. If it hits, I have a whole week to divide it out on loads of bets over the busy period.

I really want to put some distance between us and the pack by New Year's. We'll have Leipzig to deal with after.

**confident talk**
9143  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Senator plans to teach Congress how to use bitcoin to reduce the national debt on: December 19, 2020, 08:56:32 AM
Not even Bitcoin can stave off where the national US debt is going. They're increasingly spending more than they earn (I'm also not going into how they printed in just one month more money than Bitcoin's market cap at one point, famous headline ho ho) and they're not going to be spending less any time soon with fresh stimulus needed to prop the country up post Covid. Congress doesn't need teaching. They just need to get a little brave and maybe reject some of those defence Act amendment bills. Not that that alone helps.
You are true, USA is printing so much money and it's debt is going through the roof + they are giving away some money to other small countries to help in this pandemic but the most curious for me is that despite the fact that US debt is rising, in some countries, people prefer to stick USD instead of their national currencies and even value of USD rised during the pandemic.
Btw I don't know why they think that saving assets in bitcoins will help the whole USA economy but I think, truth is that people try to make themselves popular by stating something around bitcoin.

It's been the global standard since the 1970s, hard to change something like that. And somewhat also because it's got the widest number in circulation (literally, more bills and more widespread than anything else), it's of course easier to get hold of. It's the preferred physical currency in many parts of the world I've been in, and that list of countries only expands.

Also, pretty dangerous these days to state something about Bitcoin if you want to be popular. Bitcoin believers are still very much a minority.
9144  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Official betting partner of ARSENAL FC 🚀 on: December 18, 2020, 08:11:40 PM
^ Ouch on the Friday special. Dead on the first leg with Hull falling at home to Portsmouth. Feels weird mentioning these names who still feel like Premier League teams and they're two divisions down at the moment. Don't even know if any of the guys playing there in EPL are still there.

Good luck with MM! New coach BVB vs surprise package from the capital!
9145  Economy / Gambling discussion / Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +47924 units on: December 18, 2020, 01:34:22 PM
Well it wasn't so bad for Sheffield, two goals from McGolddrick, but Rashford found some form. That's ten straight away wins for Man Utd, not bad?

Anyway, Boosted offer today from Sportsbet, that's where my money goes.
Hull, Bilbao and BVB to WIN @10.00. Other odds: 9.56

Odds advantage: 44

9146  Economy / Speculation / Re: $25,000 can be achieved by end of year? Or January 2021? on: December 18, 2020, 12:31:34 PM
Or better yet, 2021 will be the year wherein we might see the price going upwards to $50k. But I correction will be due, before making this super rally comparable to 2017 bull run.

I'm okay with whenever, but yeah I can understand why it's interesting to see over 2x from ATH next year, hardly impossible but still far from my timeframe of reconsideration (years from now). Can't really recall how it was when we returned to the 1.xk ATH in 2017... how many times it needed to overcome resistance but yeah, we'll definitely experience corrections and profit-taking before we gain enough strength for a 2017-esque run. Not sure it'll happen at the same magnitude but here's wishing to it!
9147  Economy / Speculation / Re: New ATH then correction of 35%+ on: December 18, 2020, 11:25:05 AM
Perhaps you misunderstood me - I'm not an elitist either. I have full time work and full time life and I envy those who have a lot of free time, I do not look down on them.
I agree with you about the development of the ecosystem - for the most part in the initial stages, development occurs due to the activities of enthusiasts and people who just spend their time for fun.

Oh, no, I don't think I was calling you elitist, I just have experienced myself (not directed at me but at others) the disdain for others doing those... menial tasks of "earning". I don't do them myself and if I could advise people, would also tell them to avoid it.

But we can't ignore how all these people and their tiny contributions in some way helped Bitcoin get the foothold it needed in the first place.

It's still nice to see people having fun and using Bitcoin today too.
9148  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: December 17, 2020, 07:30:08 PM
I have to disagree about everyone needing to post a screenshot though, sorry guys but I'm a forum user and I don't think anyone should be saying what everyone should be doing. Also, some people (like me) don't really like those long pics which we can't avoid if we're taking the actual screenshot, even resizes. If I can save space for text, I always go for that.

But hey, since I don't make the rules of course I'll bend. I always. Bend Wink

I think betslip is best. If you can't share a betslip, you should use the bet ID. Sportsbet can verify everything with the bet ID/betslip. And it's more advertising and clickthrus for sportsbet (and one day when they link referral to betslip, we'll all be sharing it everywhere).

Hey I said I bend, but didn't say quietly =p

My required screenshot.

9149  Economy / Speculation / Re: $25,000 can be achieved by end of year? Or January 2021? on: December 17, 2020, 06:16:55 PM
Since we're all here anyway, might as well break 25k this weekend. Heck it was 23870 this morning, why not, right?

January's better though. I'd still like to sell at the peak next month before we dip back down to 15k (en route to several 25k attempts before super rally heh heh).
9150  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +47767 units on: December 17, 2020, 03:54:57 PM
Really hope Southampton gets a win tonight, I have a shitload of money riding on them. I don't like it when this sort of high odds game became public opinion and I have a feeling nobody who watched PL recently would put a dollar on Arsenal tonight. I am actually expecting a handicap win for the Saints today, Arsenal looked terrible lately.

We all got screwed my friend. They ought to have won that one, esp once Arsenal saw red again. Arteta's gloom's brought me a lot of joy but this one they had to get a point damn. Baby steps, huh.

Still, I got a nice win from Championship! Live bet did not go well, haha Milan thanks.

Anyway, might as well do simple upset today. Odds were better around elsewhere but I thought I'd give back some luck/joy to Sportsbet.

100 units on Sheffield Utd to WIN vs Man Utd. Other odds: 7.10

Odds advantage: -30

Running advantage after 156 bets: +10,211 (-30)

Running units after 155 bets (27W|128L): +6,772 (+239)
9151  Economy / Speculation / Re: December for moon on: December 17, 2020, 02:25:12 PM
That is the power of reaching all time high, if we were to go from 6k to 12k nobody would talk about it this much but from 10k to 20k everyone talks about it, even though profits are the same.

Yeah, such literal psychology in numbers.

At this point, buying at 22k, 17k or 25 k as it seems to be headed, doesn't and won't make much sense when we'll one day be talking about $100k (if that's what you believe as a long-term holder). Waiting out to "save" a few thousand on price at the risk of missing the boat when the rally kicks off simply has no sense. Wonder how many people are kicking themselves in the butt now.
9152  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 17, 2020, 11:22:51 AM
^ Yeah, I've actually recently been making more from non-fancied and 2nd league picks (including Serie B) than from the main leagues. Thankfully last night my Liverpool pulled me through on something else because otherwise I'd be in a 3rd straight week of bad bets.

Didn't realise they were this bad in defence right now though, and yeah, Italy is back to drawing a lot and scoring a few;) Not that other leagues are doing much better right now!
9153  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Official betting partner of ARSENAL FC 🚀 on: December 17, 2020, 08:44:42 AM
I did lose a ticket because Arsenal didn't lose even with 10 men (heh) but I think it's the first time I actually made some money from both freebets received, which I didn't think too much to use! Liverpool Loanee Harvey Elliot helped pull Blackburn Rovers from the brink on the 80th min yay! Thanks Sportsbet for the gifts =D

9154  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 16, 2020, 10:06:02 PM
^ My turn for Milan to screw me. Took a live bet at 1-1, parlaying with other live matches in draws (Liverpool and PSG) as the value looked really good. Liverpool actually won it in injury time but bloody Milan let Genoa score again and could only draw. I did avoid livebet on Napoli at the draw though (was 4/1 at half time). Lukaku penalty nicked it.

Tough table at the top now, Juve will feel like shit, but Milan the shittiest for not making the most. Crazy.
9155  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ BitcoinPRBuzz.com's ⚽ Spanish La Liga ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread on: December 16, 2020, 08:51:07 PM
Put Barca in a couple of my parlays tonight but Leicester going down already kills one of them. Leeds coming from behind keeps me alive for one but need Liverpool to win and a couple more goals in the Leipzig/Hoffenheim to nail my other.

Barca looking good guys? Watching a high tempo Liverpool match so far not getting too much joy from Spurs, who's classic 1 break 1 goal strat is working grrr.
9156  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling top at $16500 (Even Newer!: $2483 bottom 19 Feb 2021 MtGox said so!) on: December 16, 2020, 06:56:37 PM
I absolutely respect that approach - I'm s strong advocate for personal accountability! Sorry to hear you are in the vulnerable group. Hopefully you'll be on the right side of the statistics.

I'm exactly the same when it comes to Bitcoin, "dont invest more than you can afford to lose" gang. McCormack posting about taking out a $50k loan to buy BTC on twitter is the height of irresponsible imho, not because it isn't right for him, but cos suckas gonna follow him! Even if it pays it doeasnt mean it was the right thing to do. Hey ho.

20k breached nicely, lets see where it goes. February is just around the corner Wink *sweats profusely*

Thank you for your words! Yes, it's unfortunate but such is life, and one must bounce back, to kick another day.

Couldn't agree more with McCormack and his cut of cloth -- I generally quite like maximalists, but also generally those who aren't self-professed. Can't put the blame fully on him and them though, if flocks of others follow as they always will follow someone. The last time Bitcoin got this high, some poor sod in the Mid East took out bank loans he eventually couldn't pay off, lost his job, etc. etc. And this was a single guy. There will be people putting up their kids' college funds because of this induced influencer fomo. Irresponsible, careless, misguided. sigh.

But oh yeah. Happy 20k. Spending some of mine for Christmas to get some joy out of this!

Multi Magic is up! w00t w00t!

cheers for the freebets guys, I got them in my account, and of course already using them up haha. 1 mbtc is now $20. Damn!

Mou is going to park the bus so I am risking my Betbuilder but here we go (can't share betslip with Betbuilder):
Liverpool FC - Tottenham Hotspur FC
Total booking pts - Under 59.5 (90 mins)
Total corners - Over 6.5 (90 mins)
Team corners - Liverpool Over 4.5 (90 mins)
Total goals - Over 1.5 (90 mins)
Result - Liverpool win (90 mins)
Odds: 3.53

Wouldn't you agree? Cheesy

Why wouldn't I agree;)

I thought I was done placing bets for today until I saw your Augsburg prediction. Now I also have PSG, Milan to win and Augsburg to win or draw at 2.51x. I'm reasonably certain that this will hit too, and much less risky than the special, as Bayern could mess things up.

You're welcome =p Augsburg almost won me a big one last match too but they somehow managed to draw.

9158  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🚀 Sportsbet.io - Official betting partner of ARSENAL FC 🚀 on: December 16, 2020, 01:53:12 PM
So, how are you guys going to keep up with the fixtures today? it's midweek and we have Serie A, Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, that one La Liga match with Barcelona, Copa del Rey games, Copa Libertadores, and to those who follow esports like me we have Dota and CSGO...that's easily over 50 games in just 12 hours...too overwhelming, idk where to place my tickets lol

btw, a tip: that Wednesday special with PSG+Bayern+Milan all to win at 2.25, you can get better odds if you place it as 3-leg multi with boost 🤭

Or maybe Double Chance makes more sense huh?
well?? did you go with DC? 👀

Actually I've noticed you get better odds on some specials with boosts too, notably one last week where the specials was 8/1 but with boost over 9/1;) I took that anyway as I used my boost elsewhere.

Don't forget Super Boost on Arsenal/Southampton. Almost 4/1 Southampton win! I parlayed that with Augsburg to rain more misery on Arminia for just over 10/1 =)

And no, I didn't do Double Chance. I took WBA at 29/1, too bad huh! was almost 9/1 on DoubleChance.

P.S. Bitcoin ATH just broke Telegram.
