(...) but do not expect two goals form them, without conceiving some, (...)

They have done it before against Stuttgart from 0-2 to 2-2 and against Hamburg from 0-1 to 2-1. Both in second half, where they usually play from left to right (like today in second half) and thus towards the goal they like more. But Stuttgart/Hamburg are not Werder and I hope they won't score two without Werder scoring again. 1-1 would be ok with me though Cheesy

Trump was relatively unknown in 2016, (...)

I would say that he was "relatively unknown" as a politician, but in general as an individual he was widely known (?). He was no newbie on the TV screens of US citizens and I knew him well before as well; being someone not living in US Grin

He is definitely not as strong as he was in 2016 and does not have this newcomer effect anymore. However not everything he does/did is bad or he wouldn't had ok-ish approval ratings for a long time and don't forget he was odds favourite to win the election not long ago. If Corona never happened, he probably would still be, but ever since this virus showed up in USA, he handled the situation poorly imo and not like you want your political leader to handle it (in the eyes of the majority).

He has probably done good in home affairs up until Corona, but burned quite some bridges in foreign affairs and there are only few countries, that cheer for him to remain president (Putin would be happy I guess). But he never made a secret about his intentions (America first, MAGA) and from what I can judge, at least in that department he wasn't doing too bad and his populist decisions were liked by those who want to like them or like them whatever it is. If this is good longterm for the US is another story then.

Being not as strong as in 2016 doesn't necessarily imply that he will lose this election, because he has another opponent this year (whom I still consider weaker than Hillary all things considered).
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 1.1 BTC in 35 Days on Sportsbet.io on: July 06, 2020, 01:35:44 PM
Congratulations on your winnings, well done Smiley

1) As you might have seen from the screenshots many big stakes were live bets. So from my sight it was important to choose a bookie which offers live bets regularly.

Agree 100%. Live there is much more value to be found, but it's also more time-consuming. So as (mostly) always more work/effort = more money.

2) If you are gambling regularly it is %100 advised not to keep your money on sportsbook all the time. This has nothing to do with reliability of the sportsbook. It is only for you to not be greedy and avoid unnecessary betting.

This is just a matter of discipline and money managment. But if you are struggling with that, frequent withdrawals are definitely helpful. But then again you always have to have the discipline to do these withdrawals Grin

After that advices and advantages, i would also like to make an advice to Sportsbet.io as well from my perspective that could enhance their services even further:
1) From my sight, promotions doesnt seem attractive, i have staked more than 300 ETH in general and havent got single dime or VIP service as promotion since they only offer loss cashbacks. I know that people might say "man you have won more than a BTC, dont push your luck" but the thing is that i think VIP services and promotional offers should be on a stake amount basis, not loss amount.

Hehe, you will never be the bookies friend, if you are winning. Sportsbet, just like 99% of any other sportsbook will limit you, if you are a winning player. So even if they had a VIP programme based on turnover instead of losses, you couldn't benefit properly from it, since you wouldn't be able to generate a lot of turnover anymore with a limited account. VIP services at bookmakers are for VIP losers to keep them happy.

And besides all of that it is best that to NOT GAMBLE AT ALL, if anyone out there is just starting  Cheesy

The best advice Smiley

Good luck for your future bets.

Odds for Monday: Heidenheim - Bremen 3.14 3.56 2.24

Odds have dropped below 2.00 in some places and I think this is wrong. Strong home team against strong-ish away team, but Werder only managed to win 6/17 (35%) of their away games in the end and they don't have to win this game in order to stay in Bundesliga. Any scoring draw is fine for them and even 0-0 again would be enough to send the game to overtime. I think Werder will want to score at any cost to put pressure on Heidenheim having to win the game. Heidenheim themselves are aware of this and they conceded only 13 goals in 17 games at home. Now Werder is better than any other team they faced in 2. Bundesliga and thus I expect Heidenheim to take a very cautious approach again - sit back and wait for counter-attacks, where Werder looked vulnerable in 1st leg. Getting corners and free-kicks near the box should also be something they would looking for. As Darkoth89 mentioned, Werder is poor in defending set pieces (+ Moisander is out) and Heidenheim has Schnatterer who kicks very dangerous free-kicks, if the position is good.

Heidenheim 1X for me with 3/10 and another 3/10 inplay, if Werder scores the lead.

What I have heard is, that they are planing to bring fans back already in September but with some restrictions.. Fans have to wear protectivte masks, every 2nd seat will be used and only fans from the home team are allowed to enter the stadium.. Roll Eyes

I would love to have at least some fans back in the stadiums. The problem is, that it's not a federal decision, but each state will most likely have their own regulations. And (for Bundesliga) in the states that have fewer Corona issues and are more likely to allow spectators again, there are no teams in Bundesliga Grin

The hardest hit states (Bavaria, Baden-Wuerttemberg, North Rhine Westphalia) have 11+1 teams in Bundesliga, while states where Corona is only a smaller issue (Mecklenburg Western Pomerania, Brandenburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Saxony-Anhalt, Thuringia) have no teams at all. If Saxony allows Leipzig to have fans again, but Bavaria says no fans allowed in Bayern/Augsburg, then that is unfair financial advantage for Leipzig and DFL won't allow them to have spectators too.

1860 - Ingolstadt over 2.5 @1.9+ 0-2
Chemnitz - Rostock over 2.5 @2.0+ 4-2

At halftime it looked VERY bad, since both games were still scoreless. Second half was crazy in Chemnitz, but remained quite boring in Munich. With Duisburg having a solid lead, 1860 were basically out of contention for that playoff spot. They still pushed, but were too pathetic upfront. This game could have easily gone over, especially in the closing minutes, but Ingolstadt didn't go for the third goal 100% and were happy with keeping the ball and slowing things down.

With the final whistle, it looked like Ingolstadt took 3rd place, which would have put them directly into 2. Bundesliga, but Würzburg game was still running and they scored the late equalizer against Halle and Ingolstadt will now have to play Nürnberg in playoffs. This will be two though games and for me it's completely unpredictable who will advance.

Meanwhile Bayern won the DFB-Pokal, congratulations once again.

You put over bet at that moment and under bet now and you have few percent of sure money.

Hehe, I parlayed those two and this is always a nightmare to sure. I assume this to be a valuable bet, so I will just sit and pray and play the long game.
If you are in a position to make a (big) surebet out of your initial bet, you are better off longterm letting it run imo (unless you overstaked and feel uncomfortable). This can be painful at times, but pays off in the long run.

Kick-off is in a few minutes, lets go Grin

Betting on Biden seems a good bet at the moment.

I don't think so Smiley Biden's odds have been going down all the time in the last weeks and everything went his way - I guess he can't believe it himself and he didn't add a lot to that, he just had to stay healthy and show up a bit in public, do some interviews etc. I find it more likely for his odds to go up again. And if not, they won't go much lower imo, so small upside, but big downside betting on these odds right now. What should happen for Trumps odds to go even higher ? You can't do a lot worse than Trump is doing right now and there were some positive signs lately as mentioned in this thread (at least economy-wise).

But I also think betting at least some money on Trump could be a good hedge for the next election.

If you are looking for a hedge/trade I would start with Trump as per the above. But if Dr. Fauci is correct with his prognosis, I might be the one to be completely wrong; thats the (hard) fun with betting Cheesy
929  Economy / Gambling / Re: #3 Bitcointalk Poker Series (0.05 BTC & BIG BTC Ticket sponsored by SwC Poker) on: July 04, 2020, 11:08:15 AM
I personally have no idea why don't we have around 100 participants yet. I'd love to hear from other forum members, why don't they join, apart from the "low prize pool"?

My 2 cents:

  • Apart from what one would think, there aren't a lot of "real" gamblers in this forum imo. And the majority of those that really do gamble, prefer more fast-paced gambling, like Dice, slots etc. Poker is pretty time-consuming and takes a lot of time to kind of master. Dice, slots anyone can play; sports-betting is also "easy", because most people are interested in sports in general. And you can hop on hop off pretty fast, which is not possible with a poker tournament.
  • Time constraints. Not everyone has the time to sit at a poker table for possilbly around 3 hours on a Sunday.
  • For more advanced poker players, the prize pool is probably too low (ceehe kind of mentioned it) and/or it colludes with the big tourneys on PokerStars (like CryCryptoCry mentioned).
  • For most people, even 0.0014 BTC per tournament is too high, especially, if they don't see any chance to go deep in tournaments (the lottery maybe helps a bit with that).
  • Time zone issues. For Asians it's too late, for Aussies, west coast USA/Canada too early.
  • Not a lot of people have SwC accounts, so the entry hurdle is quite high. If this series was held on PokerStars (or even Sportsbet), it would be less weary for people to join. (This is no criticism for the series running on SwC, I like it very much there and the support/sponsoring from SwC has been fantastic and more we could ask for).
  • (Potential) players are intimidated by our community imo. This might sound strange, but we have lots of well respected and high-ranked users in our series and some interested users are probably a bit too shy, to "enter" this community. Language barrier might also play into this.

I thought a lot about how to attract (and keep) more players, but it's not easy. That 1 BTC tournament on Sportsbet the other week had super low buy-in and huge overlay and still only 150 (?) players joined. WBD had 500 Watford jerseys reserved for the first 500 entries and they were not even able to fill 500 spots. The jersey alone is worth multiple times the buy-in, but still it didn't attract a lot of people. So I guess, we will have to live with what we have now - maybe a regular player will join every now and then - but I am fine with it, as long as it doesn't get lower. If we had 100 particiipants per tournament, each tournament would take very long and that would scare of our Asian players and probably also some of the european ones, who have to get up early the next day.

Did anyone get that Watford jersey from WBD already btw ? I am still waiting for mine.

1860 - Ingolstadt over 2.5 @1.9+
Chemnitz - Rostock over 2.5 @2.0+

I don't expect the odds to drop a lot - they rarely do with over/under - but I think both odds have very good value, so I placed my bet already.

To my surprise the odds did actually drop quite a lot:

Source: https://www.marathonbet.com/en/popular/Football/Germany/3+Liga+-+432293

That was the easy part, hardest part still to come with 3+ goals in both games to be scored. I am rooting for an early goal for 1860, since this will create havoc in the live standings. Ingolstadt scoring the lead would be a bit meh, but 1860 will still need to push and Chemnitz has to push anyway for 90 minutes (unless Zwickau has big lead @Mannheim).

Shandong - Jilin HC2 -5,5 @1.93 4/10
Nanjing - Xinjiang Halftime HC2 -7.5 @1.86 4/10

Jilin was a close game for three quarters, but in Q4 they were that bit sharper then as expected, 91-80 FT, +3.72.
With three seconds to go and the ball in their hands, Xinjiang was leading with 8, but then a turnover and two Nanjing points with 0.x seconds to go. You gotta love when "these things" happen in CBA Grin, 52-46 HT, -4.00.

934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 03, 2020, 05:15:02 PM
I didn't mean the result per se, more that you saw the game before it happened. I didn't have any clue as to what to expect from Heidenheim and what you said was spot on.

Ok, then thanks for the compliment Smiley Heidenheim always plays like that in away games so for anyone who follows the 2. Bundesliga regularly it was obvious that they would go with this approach also yesterday. Since they have been not very successful when travelling, they should maybe think about a more offensive approach in the future in general Wink

I still remember that Kaiserslautern title from the late 1990's, soon after they were promoted to the Bundesliga.

This was insane, it seemed they couldn't do any wrong. The Betzenberg was a fortress back then and I don't know how many times they scored the deciding goal in the final seconds of the game. Olaf Marschall became a legend that season.

Sure, it's impossible to do it today, but for a small club that was an amateur team 5 years ago, reaching the Bundesliga would be huge.

The Dritte Liga is in fact a professional league since 2008/2009 and even the years before everything was full-time, though technically it was an amateur league. The 4th division (Regionalliga) is the first division, where you find players not playing for a living, although things are pretty professional there already as well and for quite some players kicking the ball is their only job.

Degens Exchange has Trump at 44% and Biden at 60% - https://degens.com/?sport=Politics

Technically you don't have Biden at 60%, but the field, which makes the 1.667 (sorry, I always calculate in decimal odds Cheesy) good, since Betfair has 1.71 for Biden and you have lower commission from all I know. The Field then covers any medical issues for Biden - but also for Trump, because he can get sick as well, so if I was to bet against Trump, I would probably prefer your odds.

But those odds for Trump are shitty with 2.23 compared to Betfairs 2.84 right now, even with commission advantage.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: July 03, 2020, 09:31:02 AM
If I play something it will be under goals. Maybe even under 1.5

That would be a brave bet imo, but you never know. You will be fine as long as the score is 0-0, but once a goal has been scored for either side, a second/third/fourth will come - depending on at what time the 1-0/0-1 was scored. If it's not 0-0 anymore, you will always have one of the teams needing to push and this normally leads to goals.
It could very well be, that it's 0-0 deep into HT2, because there is so much at stake and both teams don't want to take any risks, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with under 1.5 bet even in 80th minute with 0-0.
Since reintroduction of relegation playoffs in 2009, there were always 2+ goals in both legs combined. But there is a first for everything of course Wink

Fair play to tyKiwanuka, his analysis was spot on.

Well, I said that Werder is likely able to snatch out a hard fought win, but Heidenheim would be happy with any draw. So not really spot on, just a little bit Cheesy

Well, Heidenheim was the expected annoying opponent for Werder. Good defensive performance, while always keeping Werder busy with counter-attacks. Not sure for whom this is a better result in the end, since Werder does better away and a scoring draw will be enough for them in 2nd leg. Heidenheim was 11-4-2 at home, which made them second best home team in 2. Bundesliga. Against Bielefeld they played 0-0, Stuttgart 2-2 and beat Hamburg 2-1 with a goal in the final seconds.

Odds for Monday: Heidenheim - Bremen 3.14 3.56 2.24. I think Werder is too low considering Heidenheim lost only two games at home all season (in the very beginning of the season even). If there is a draw late in the game with goals scored, Heidenheim has to open up and Werder could score on a counter-attack, but 1X looks to have some value at this point pre-match.
