921  Economy / Economics / Re: World debt hits new record: good for BTC on: April 19, 2018, 02:33:34 PM
I wish OP could bother himself by clerifying why the collapse of the world economy is good for bitcoin. We are stil living in the real economy and buying everything for fiat money. I havent seen someone proving the corellation between BTC price and USD devaluation and nothing guarantees that cryprocurrencies will become more established after the collapse of the world economy.

How is this fair?? Why do we keep hearing arguments AGAINST a capped reserve currency with comparisons made to the gold standard and effectively no noise against this tiger of unlimited debt that the governments keep riding at the expense of middle classes. Any economists listening to this?
Because you  don't have instruments to controll the monetary system. Deflation can be way more harmfull then the inflation. It will completely kill the macro economy of the country. Economists have to struggle it.
922  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Newbie in crypto trading, whelp! Bot or human? on: April 18, 2018, 12:51:18 PM
First of all you should explain what kind of trading are you doing because if you are boying altcoins and waiting for pump (which is not trading but investing) then it is quite different things.
Concidering that you are talking about margin trading I would advice you not to trade on crypto market if you are trying to get started. There are too many unpredictable huge moves that can kick you out of the market. Also there is too much uncertain moments for the last time when even experienced traders stop trading. You simply won't get any experience when you are not trading. I would advice you to start from forex. You will get more stable market where you will get better experience. All this TA stuff is almost the same everywhere.
You should also know trading while using a bot. Just because you have to decide if the bot is fine or not. Once you figure out how everything works bot will only help you to work on larger amount of markets at the same time.
923  Economy / Economics / Re: Ron Paul: Another Subprime Bubble, The Fed Never Learns on: April 17, 2018, 05:26:01 PM
Just imho but the key poing of such alarmist videos (and articles) is that almost always when you see someone warning about bubble then it probably means that there is stoll a half way for this bubble untill it blow up. That is how it was in 2008 and this is what's happening now. Almost all experts that I've seen are aggreed  that stock market is getting into the bubble but allso all of them agree that agree that it won't blow up in the next year and even in the next 2 (or even 3) years.
By the way you can notice that when before december BTC was coming to 10k there was more warnings about bubble. Especially comparing to the 12-20k period.
924  Other / Meta / Re: Suggestion: quote notifications on: April 15, 2018, 12:13:39 PM
Good idea. But I think the main problems is people itself. Look at the post that you quote.
Right now we are having tons of replies in threads that are repeating the same shit. Pushing people to have at least a small conversation wll be much better then nothing.
For some reason it seems like everyone is trying to find an ultomate method of moderating the forum that will solve all our problems in a minute. You won't be able to build a decent community this way.

Hey there! I'm pretty sure that those things were already discussed but imho it is left without  the attention that it deserve.
I've just read the recent thread made by theymos and here is a small quote from it:
Politics & Society is trash. People go there, look at a headline, and post a few sentences of their first gut reaction without reading any of the other replies.
If you guys dodn't see the half of the forum works this way. The only Politics and Society section is not the main problem.
The other thing is that people always discuss how to moderate the forum but tbh despite the huge efforts of the community nothing is getting better (at least globaly).  I would advice you to think about how to involve users into the conversation.
For example while you are posting on the forum it might be hard to track all your posts for any feedback from the other users while you can set notifications only for threads that will completely spam your inbox with mostly useless notifications.
If people will have a chance to recieve notification once their message was quoted it will make them more involved into the conversation and make the envioronment on this forum way better. It could be a small notificaton somewhere in the top right / left of the page or at least the same e-mail stuff that we've got now, whatever. Anything will be pretty usefull.
927  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I need advice on: April 12, 2018, 04:46:09 AM
When is the best best time to sell between the 2 highs?
Whenever you want, lol. Concidering that you are probably trading golem coins without any leverage there is no need to chech smaller timeframes in order to track smaller movements (ofc if you are not a golem whale). But if you are looking for the best moment between those to hights then the earliest one will be the best. As I see BTC had a significant pump and golem had much slower  growth. But anyway it is easy (and useless) to make such "reviews" while looking on past data.
928  Other / Meta / Re: List of Accounts which Needs a Ban [ICO pumping accounts] on: April 11, 2018, 01:32:47 AM
Okay guys. Let me add one more spammer. This is not an ICO bumping service but still pretty close: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1597684
The guy is creating multiple absolutely the same threads in different sections of the forum in order to promote his ref link on another website. He also "responds" on his own threads with absolutely the same messages on all his threads (check his post history) which looks more like spam and thread bumping then an actual conversation. Duno if it is bannable but please check him.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rockefeller’s Venture Capital Firm Starts Investing in Cryptocurrencies on: April 10, 2018, 11:36:32 PM
Absolutely "green" news recently came from the financial world: Rockefeller’s Venture Capital Firm Starts Investing in Cryptocurrencies
How do yo think, is it that key crypto market signal that will trigger the new powerful growth?
There is more detailed article about them: https://cointelegraph.com/news/rockefellers-vc-arm-venrock-partners-with-coinfund-exec-highlights-focus-on-long-term
There you can find that they are not looking at the current price and even at the price of near future. Their position was stated in those words:
Quote
“We’re really patient long term investors [...] we’re wondering what happens over the next five to ten years. Can we have fundamental change to a number of different markets because of a disturbed ledger, a token economy that all participants can take part in?”
The good point on that news is  that this partnership has connections with several coins and unlike many endless "blockchain researches" this one may really make some influence on crypto prices in future.
930  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is Forkdelta safe platform for trading??? on: April 10, 2018, 05:58:19 PM
As it was already mentioned it is as safe as Etherdelta (but it works way more faster). But both of these exchanges are not 100% safe. Not so long before Forkdelta was forket the original Etherdelta was hacked and their app got replaced into a fake one so many users lost their ETH. And I'm not saying about a chance to get caught on the phishing website.
None of them is 100% safe. Keep your eyes opened and don't use the exchange if you find something suspicious (for example during the ED hach the chat was not working) and check some forums and reddit.
931  Economy / Economics / Re: [ASK] why is the year getting rich getting richer? on: April 09, 2018, 07:03:53 PM
First of all poor people are not getting poorer. At least is you are not talking about 3rd world countries. The gap is getting bigger because the capital and its wise usage is awarding money. If you take a look at working class then it will be easy to see that their life quality is growing pretty fast, faster then ever before. Everyone can get some new skills in the internet (for example you can easily become a QA tester after passing an online course) and get a good job. There is nothing bad that some people are getting wealthier. Don't count other people's money.
932  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Blockchain Kill the Energy Monopoly? on: April 07, 2018, 02:30:29 PM
In Australia the thermal generation market is becoming increasingly concentrated with two players accounting for over 50% market share in every State
What stops you from becoming a 3rd player in Australian market? Please show me the people that suffer from their actions and can't afford electricity. This is not a bit problem for todays society.

Oil is also a major contributor to climate change, which the U.S. Department of Defense has identified as a “major threat multiplier"
At first someone have to prove that  climate change and global warming are caused by  humans. Everything that greens say is a total crap.

From 1980 to 2010, while the India’s per capita GDP grew by $193, to $4,514, its emissions per capita grew from 1.49 tons per year to more than six tons per year
After reading the part of the provided article it feels like it is easier to get rid of India then make them a progressive and "green" country. Sorry.

In just the first half of 2012, the five biggest oil companies in the US earned $62.2 billion in profits. That’s $341 million each day
If you want them to share their profit with you then just say it.

Holding monopoly over power plants and transmission, Eskom is the sole generator and purchaser of electricity in South Africa. It rely's on coal to generate bulk of the energy supply
This is definetely the main problem in South Africa. Ereryone is probably thinking about it day and night.

The electricity sector is the largest source of greenhouse emissions in Australia. 87 per cent of our electricity still comes from coal and gas fired power stations
You know,  all those companies are probably so stupid and lazy that they are harming the planet instead of making a a cheap and green energy. They should probably stop their activities (or switch to the green energy) and leave the whole country and economy without electricity (there is no way to supply the huge demand with green energy).

And how do you think blockchain will help here? To trade energy you should first create it. Then you may talk about blockchain.

933  Economy / Economics / Re: What IF? on: April 06, 2018, 02:07:38 AM
~ Normal corrections.

Yes. Probably. After such a huge pump it is "healthy".
~ People taking small profits with every spike in the price
Those people are called traders. They did not disappear after the price get lower.
~ Manipulation to keep the Bitcoin price low, to slow down adoption. <Our competitors know, price spikes draw investors>
The adoption doesn't really depend on the price of Bitcoin. Price changes play more significant role there. No one is using fiat money to get a profit but holding a fiat currency that will loose half of its value in a ween is probably a stupid move. It should work similar in crypto. People shouldn't be driven only  by their to use crypto. It should become easier then fiat in order to get more audience.
~ Price manipulation by people invested in Bitcoin Futures to keep the price stable.
BTC futures look extremely unpopular. It seems like someone have to spend huge money to moniplate the market to get a smaller profit. And I'm not counting all extra cimspiracy expences and risks of getting jailed for that kind of things.
934  Economy / Economics / Re: US proposes tariffs on 1,300 Chinese goods on: April 04, 2018, 02:22:03 AM
As a non US resident I can notice one simple thing. Since Donalt Trump was elected the left mainstream liberals tried to blame him for everything they could by introducing his actions as an apocalypse. No one ever noticed that there was already a hundred of custom duties between  USA and China (and the rest of the world) before Trump was elected. The sad truth is that the free America was always pretty closed from non us residents. This time nothing changed that seriously, especially if we count that China was always a protectionistic country and banned many things previously in order to support their busineses.

936  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash on: April 02, 2018, 04:50:23 PM
It was just a marketing strategy of bitcoin cash founder. He spread a lot of positive of bitcoin cash to the crypto industry and promote his project buy making a negative news in bitcoin.
In civilized world this kind of "marketing strategies"  is usually called a scam. These guys literally spammed the BTC network in order to increase the amount of unconfirmed transactions and at the same time spreaded lots of FUD saying that Bitcoin is dead. This was an obvious lie that aimed to mislead the emotional and naive users. They did everything to avoid the competition and get their coin pumped on fake panic.
937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Bitcoin Cash on: April 02, 2018, 03:07:22 PM
BCH was pointless from the very begining. It was created in order to spread FUD while spamming the original network. Bitcoin Cash devs claim that it was created to remove bitcoin's disadvantages but:
1. If you need biger blocks you coula already use LTC. It have bigger blocks, fast transactions and low fees. The point that BCH blocks are even bigger is not making any sence, the diffirence if insignificant for anyone.
2. Even if we accept that BTC network was not spammed then just take a look at its fees at the peak times. 20$+ fees was a normal thing. if you split this number by 8 you will still get higher fees then BTC had at the begining of the previous year and that is the fee that BCH will have with the same market cap. Scaling on blockchain is not an option.
3. Lightning network is going to solve all issues with tx speed and fees. BCH will become completely pointless. It is already useless but then it will be even worse.
938  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin's "Death Cross" on: April 02, 2018, 11:49:40 AM
The marker is obviously  not that confident and it might not be the best time to buy more but I'm not that sure about death cross. All those lond term indicators are not trustworthy, you need to take into concideration that during this whole period price heavily reacted on all pumps and dumps all the time while for a quality analysis you gona need a market that was at least somehow stable during this period.

This year there have been several hacker attacks resulting in losses of hundreds of millions of $ (NEM).

By the way the was almost no reaction on recent hacks. I mean the instant reaction, naybe right now someone is dumping those coins. For example after btc-e was suspended we had a significant dips.
939  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Guys, just hold.. We can agree on a few things. on: April 02, 2018, 03:35:16 AM
Instead of simply hodl your coins you can do some research on some upcoming ICOs or track the progress of already established ones in order to find some gems (there are a lot of extremely undervalued ones right now). Just don't waste that time on doing nothing. Doesn't matter how much USD will cost BTC and ETH tomorrow as we all know it will probably cost more in some time. The key point is to focus in getting profits in crypto for now. Multiplying your ETH will benefit your in future even if it is dipin right now.
940  Economy / Economics / Re: Government Exchanges on: April 01, 2018, 02:25:59 PM
I would never use a government exchange directly , that's like risking your money because a single made mistake could to your accounts in a freeze mode and they would track you and tax you as they, would never recommenced or use one myself
I would like to tell you a secret. Government will already have an access to all your transaction details. The exchange will easily provide it on demand. At this point you are not losing anything.
The only good usage for gov exchanges that I see is that they may easily create a strong fiat pairs. Traders won't have to use all those stablecoins that are supposed to fail by design. But ofc it depends on the country. Nigerian gov exchange still won't be trustworthy. As I remember Switzerland was going to create something like that.
