921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: January 18, 2024, 04:51:20 PM
You will have to explain how do you think that all the bitcoin will get lost all of a sudden?

Many holders have lost their keys, making their coins inaccessible unless they find them again. More will do it in the future. Those are lost coins. It's highly unlikely that every single bitcoin owner will lose their keys one day. Perhaps you think a malicious future update could render all keys useless, but if we take into account how difficult it is to make changes to the protocol that everyone will agree on, that's pretty much impossible. Finally, even if all of the bitcoin got hacked and stolen, we still can't say it's lost. The ownership, changed and those possessing the new keys have access to it. That would pretty much signal the death of Bitcoin, though.
922  Economy / Speculation / Re: Best time to buy Bitcoin is around the time of Bitcoin Halving: April 22, 2024 on: January 18, 2024, 04:38:04 PM
If we look at the graph you posted carefully, the first halving event caused the price to rise immediately. This wasn't the case with the 2nd and 3rd halving events. You can see on the image that bitcoin was following a downward trajectory the second and third time, before the prices moved upwards to reach new all-time-highs. It's going to be interesting to see how it will act this time around.
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever regretted selling your bitcoins ? on: January 18, 2024, 04:30:30 PM
One shouldn't feel sorry for selling and exiting their positions at a time when they needed the money or felt it was time to sell. This is an economy that works in cycles. After a high there is always a low where you can stack up again and even recover from past losses. If the money you got from selling years ago was for a good use and spent intelligently, there is no need to feel that you have missed out on more profit and be sad about it.
924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: First contract of its kind in the world in Argentina on: January 18, 2024, 04:25:36 PM
This might be the first official case that we know of or the first one that has been reported in the media, but I am sure there were others that remained under the radar before this one. In some countries, people don't sign contracts for renting apartments. It's a black market wild west with no paper trail. Some of those deals have likely been negotiated in crypto if both parties agree and support the innovation. The more adoption there is, the better for everyone involved.
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin changed people (enemy to supporter). Lary Fink (BlackRock CEO) 2017 2024 on: January 17, 2024, 04:56:14 PM
Their original statements and opinions on Bitcoin haven't changed. They have just learned how to go with the flow and not piss in the wind. What they are doing now is profiting from a brand-new way of making money of investors, and not by trying to increase adoption of BTC. They couldn't care if BTC adoption skyrocketed or plummeted to the ground if it made them richer. That's why I wouldn't pay too much attention on their statements.
926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Don't only pray for mass adoption, start HODLING!! on: January 17, 2024, 04:43:12 PM
With every news concerning development of new technologies in the blockchain and bitcoin gaining ground in the world, even now big companies like Blackrock have now gained interest in bitcoin. Meaning that the big players have now seen the same glimpse of light that we saw in bitcoin either as a real valued asset or as a good replacement to fait currency and centralization.
I wouldn't compare Blackrock with the early Bitcoin developers and holders and the reasons they got involved in this technology. Early adopters wanted an alternative, so they created a currency that anyone can use without requesting permission of a third party. Blackrock is an investment company. It's a cold-hearted business strategy to get involved with Bitcoin. They don't care about it nor will they be holders. They are trying to acquire more USD with a business that is booming. If they could profit more from destroying Bitcoin, believe me that they would try.
927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Gold, land which better? on: January 17, 2024, 04:32:47 PM
All three of the suggested investments (gold, bitcoin, and real estate) are good. But I will focus only on one feature that makes bitcoin different compared to the other two: It requires no servicing or maintaining. Land and real estate needs to be maintained, fixed, renewed, etc., otherwise it deteriorates, driving the value down. Gold doesn't need fixing once you purchase it, but consider that you need to keep it somewhere physically and protect it. Or you keep it with a custodian and pay monthly fees. There are no fees associated with holding bitcoin and it doesn't deteriorate or expire. But you have to understand and accept the volatility as an integral part of the game.
928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Bitcoin Is Punk!" - Long-form Interview with Finnish Pleb Rocker Rami Korhonen on: January 17, 2024, 04:24:03 PM
I have never head of Rami. I am not into punk rock, so it's not surprising, but I usually read and hear about famous people who have embraced BTC somewhere. Looking at his YouTube channel, view count, and subscriber count, it's fair to say that he isn't very popular.

Regarding the misinformation about Bitcoin of those in power, we can see that it's changing. They have tried laughing at it, calling it a fraud, and stopping it. We are now in a stage where they are slowly changing their stance and even embracing it, as we can see from the approved Bitcoin ETFs of lately.
929  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Overview] Comprehensive list of Crypto Sportsbooks v2 -Updated poll- on: January 17, 2024, 04:13:37 PM
<Snip>
Obviously, the negatives and the things that can be improved shouldn't have too much of a focus in your review. I just meant that you could mention it honestly if you notice that something is not according to your taste. Reading reviews where everything is explained as being perfect and top-notch also looks biased, so adding a bit of the opposite is good for the balance and makes it look like the writer knows what he is talking about and knows what he wants to see.
930  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: January 17, 2024, 04:08:52 PM
Pmalek can you tell me why are some values in table shown in bold red color even if they dont have the highest fees compared to others?
Other casinos dont have red color like Gamdom casin and they have very high Minimum Withdrawal Amount.
That red color was there from before the last update I made to the withdrawal fees and numbers last night and on 14 January. I still haven't take care of that part or the lists at the bottom of the OP. It should all be fixed tonight unless other responsibilities take priority.
931  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: January 16, 2024, 07:39:46 PM
I just noticed that you have updated the table with the latest information. You haven't posted any update log at this time. Looks like you have considered all the information which I had provided here. But somehow you missed to update the withdrawal details of Stake. Isn't it same for you on Stake?
I didn't finish the whole list of casinos that's why I didn't post an update. I actually stopped after Sportsbet.one, which would put Stake the next casino I need to look at. I also need to check the lists below the table since there have probably been some changes there was well. I hope I will have time to finish it tonight.

BTW, don't forget to update the min withdrawal limit of Bitcasino and Livecasino when you will change it for Sportsbet. These 3 betting sites are related, and the withdrawal amount has been reduced on the other two casinos too beside Sportsbet.
Yes, good thinking. I will do that.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: My dream business succeeded on: January 16, 2024, 04:48:07 PM
I am surprised that the money you received from your father ($1.5-2k) was enough to finance everything. The furniture, all the permits, and other taxes you needed to pay. If the establishment isn't yours, you will also have to pay rent. The last picture shows an open area on the outside, is that also a part of your bar?

There is never a bad time to start accepting bitcoin, but the state of the network doesn't make it attractive for small payments, and it's been like that for a long time. I myself wouldn't be interested in paying a $2 coffee by spending $5 in fees on top of that. And that's what you are looking at right now, if not more.
933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying house rent with bitcoin is it appropriate? on: January 16, 2024, 04:30:20 PM
I don't think it's a mistake. Especially if the person works for bitcoin or has a significant stash of it. Converting it to fiat would lose them a few percent, that's usually the case. If you are thinking about not spending your bitcoin because the price of it will increase in the future, you could find yourself in an endless loop where you never spend any coins expecting a higher and higher value.

I am guilty of saving too much of my bitcoin myself, but if no one was willing to spend it, it wouldn't look good and interest might drop, and with it, the price.
934  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Overview] Comprehensive list of Crypto Sportsbooks v2 -Updated poll- on: January 16, 2024, 04:22:38 PM
Thank you all for the feedback and the help. I'll probably get to it this weekend and start working on the reviews. Still would like to see a few more votes in to start doing so, in confidence. In any case, if I do start with the reviews. It will mostly be basic information that are in the table already+ a bit more that has been missed out.
If you want to do things differently and be unique compared to the competition, you could focus a bit more on what you don't like about a specific crypto casino. Each review is usually about the good, but very few reviews have a well thought-out 'the bad' or 'what casino X could do better' section. In it, you can mention some things you didn't like. It could be anything like slow-loading pages, outdated UI, high wagering requirements, small welcome bonus, unfair T&Cs, etc.
935  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Table] Withdrawal Fees and Withdrawal Amounts on Crypto Casinos on: January 16, 2024, 04:12:55 PM
Hi @Pmalek

Sportsbet.io has dropped its minimum withdrawal amount to 0.001 BTC due to the rise of BTC
Hi Steve, thanks for letting me know. Sure, I will make the change in the table. You must have changed the sum today or yesterday. I did an update on 14 January where I checked almost all casinos in the table in my OP and Sportsbet.io still had 0.002 BTC as min. withdrawal then.

Pmalek, could you take a look at those casinos and add a new information column for Lightning Network withdrawal, please.

Like LN Withdrawal (Yes/ No).
I don't want to add any new columns to the table because it messes up the formatting, especially on phones and desktop machines with smaller screens. I have added BTC (LN) under the supported altcoins column for some casinos where I have noticed that they support the Lightning Network. It's not optimal, I know. But generally, I haven't paid too much attention to the fees on LN network.
936  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.5.0 released on: January 15, 2024, 06:40:29 PM
Pmalek, can you do this with BW? I don't use it to be honest, but I would like to know. I used to use it in the past, but I have never noticed.
Yes, Blue Wallet has had many coin control options for several years ahead of Electrum. You get a full list of UTXOs and can decide what you want to do with them. Freezing is one option, spending from is a different one (an option that is still missing in Electrum). I think labelling is also a feature you can use on Blue Wallet. I have never had much use for coin control since mobile wallets aren't my preferred software for storing a lot of coins, and when I did use them, I transferred some coins there to be spent quickly when on the go.
937  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.5.0 released on: January 15, 2024, 05:15:04 PM
In the older versions, you couldn't freeze UTXO A without freezing UTXO B.
In the latest version, you can freeze each of UTXOs A and B without freezing the other one.
This is great news and would almost put Android mobile on par with Blue Wallet in my book. This is proper coin control just worded differently. Just for the record, when you say the last version, are you talking about v4.4.6 or the v4.5.0 that came out a few days ago?
938  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: SCAM upozorenja Zbirni topic on: January 15, 2024, 05:09:27 PM

939  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Postoje li jos Bountiji?? on: January 15, 2024, 04:54:03 PM

940  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: SCAM upozorenja Zbirni topic on: January 15, 2024, 04:41:24 PM

...
Stvarno postaju kreativni, i naravno opet usdt i binance.  Tongue

I prije nego netko kaže srećković, vratio sam lovu.
Been there, done that.
