Indeed. Because it's easy to say something like "I can provide evidence that american, irish and british people ARE insane. Whisky. Most of them have mistaken that nasty smellin' eau de cologne for a drink." Cheesy
I wouldn't presume to disagree Cheesy

I can provide evidence that Russians ARE insane.

Vodka.

Most of them have mistaken that nasty smellin' motor fuel for a drink.
http://www.cbsnews.com/pictures/25-drunkest-countries-in-the-world/22/

motor fuel
Vodka would burn the seals out on the pistons and injectors. Even ruin the motor itself since certain vodkas have sugar. So, it's another evidence that you've just typed your statement without thinking too much.

Guilty. Said I was just having fun Cheesy

Hello to Alligator Hunter from Ho Lee.  Hopefully dev do well for DARK.  I still hold many coin from digging during early days.  I go see show with family often, I like good show.

I thought he was Chuck Norris.

Either way, it's nice to see you back Ho Lee.

For the windows console problems seen by jeffery_dahmer (if that's your real name), I'm tracking down the bug. It seems it has to do with the libraries I'm linking against and not the code itself. I'll have a new windows build within a day.

In the mean time, troll amongst yourselves...

LOL. I keep getting the Chuck Norris comment. I think I probably fit Crocodile Dundee a little better, but I'm just Kevin Biomech, and yes, that really is me a few years back Tongue

If that were me, I would have sprayed that "officer" with pepper spray and called 9-1-1 for assistance.
...and his partner would have shot you dead, told a sob story about how he feared for his life, smeared your name, got a paid vacation, and went and pissed on your grave. Without consequence.

^ "The best way to take control over a people and control them utterly is to take a little of their freedom at a time, to erode rights by a thousand tiny and almost imperceptible reductions. In this way, the people will not see those rights and freedoms being removed until past the point at which these changes cannot be reversed."

-- probably not Adolf Hitler

Pretty sure it was Josef Stalin, or maybe even Lenin. But yes, it's quite appropriate. And of course, one that was Hitler that has been used by EVERY politician before and since..

Quote from: Adolf Hitler
“The state must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation.”

Under that guise they have taken away the ability to be an adult in modern America Sad Or should I say, the United State of America? The reality of independent states went south (pun intended) in 1861 and was abolished in the usual manner, at gunpoint, in 1865. they made it formal with the seventeenth amendment. But the vestiges of the Republic remained to a great degree until the opportunity presented by the attacks on the World Trade Center allowed the bastards to take several giant leaps forward in the curtailment of liberties. And the damn sheep ate it up. See my sig for how I feel about the vast majority of my countrymen Sad

I dont see why there is such an issue with the change. FUD had a good wallet it was the name that caused the issues. DRK changed to DASH i would assume to get away from being associated with the "Dark side" of the internet so whats wrong with a proven anoncoin wanting to fill that void? I think this is a great opportunity. Besides, when i see "DASH" i think of food not anonymous crypto tech (i.e. Mrs. Dash, Diner Dash, etc)

Keep in mind, i know nothing about DASH formerly DRK other than what I bought and sold on the exchanges.

I thought Carson's answer was quite amusing, but I'm not generally a troll, and I'm not butthurt, so I suppose I should address this Cheesy

I do know a fair amount about Dark. My objections are on both sides here. I think that Dark was just plain stupid to drop the name after going to so much time and effort to become one of the few cryptos traded for fiat, goods, and services on multiple platforms. Trying to look all squeaky clean, in my arrogant opinion, will cost them a lot of ground that they fought hard to gain. I have FAR more issue with what they did than what FUD's devs did.

I think that grabbing the name, opportunistically, is a bold move. Even pretty amusing. I just think that it will cause problems for you in the short to medium term, as people will still associate the DARK name with, well, (balder)DASH. In time, if you play it right, it might be a good move. Or it might piss off more people than it amuses or attracts. I guess that's up to y'all.

Me, I'm gonna watch. I like a good show Cheesy
928  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Not a Cop? You’re a 2nd Class Citizen on: March 31, 2015, 05:10:03 AM
Actually, as a random underemployed nobody, I'm a 5th class citizen.

Active military and blue-shirt cops are 4th class,

Military officers and white shirt cops are 3rd class,

Military top brass, federal agents, lawyers, state representatives, and lobbyists are 2nd class

Corporate executives, federal representatives, celebrities, and banksters are 1st class citizens.

The unemployed are 6th class citizens, entitled to the state's protection from suffering and death for a maximum of 99 weeks. After that, they become untouchables, invisible. Humbly and quietly they grow into a mob.

The homeless are not citizens. They're an irritation, an infestation, less than disposable rubbish to the capitalist system.

God bless america.
It is true that US citizen system is starting to look like that. If you dont have money in the US you are basically second class citizen. If you have money and power you are living a dream if not... a nightmare.
But life in the US is still better that life in some other countries where 95% of people are living a pathetic life without hope and even slight chance to climb a social ladder.

That may be, but it doesn't make what's happening here right.

When I was a boy, and even a young man, this was pretty close to a free nation. You could do what you pleased if you weren't doing it to someone else with a minimal amount of official hassle. Now? Cops are gunning people down over expired inspection stickers on their damn car. And when a cop kills someone for the thrill of it, they give the miserable son of a bitch a paid vacation and a medal.

We've become a creeping police state. The PTB have been wise enough to move slowly, ratcheting one more freedom with every sweep of their arm,. but not so fast as to spark a revolution. We, the frogs, are being boiled...

I pm you too..with no success...I had the impression that you people dont really care what your clients are up to or the problems they are facing. Mint, Hyperstake, Opal...I have trouble with all wallets....They dont even bother to answer.

As for Hyperstake
My wallet is out of sync...i download v.1.1.0.2 but nothing changed
Half of my coins are in the balance the other half are in the stake, and i have ~38785 blocks remaining.....I should have about 100000 HYP, but when i check the rich list it shows I have only 50000...that cant be true...as I  transfer 65000 on 02/01/2015 in the wallet before I even started to stake          d021c69f4a39738ad8afe42ee97fe7fa488bc4e5ff1b7b557bdb0e072c402f7e-000
I deleted everything from ROaming directory without the wallet.dat and now after the blockchain was downloaded all my coins disappeared from my wallet..all the transactions are visible but I have 0 balance

Sorry about not replying, I have been out of the country for the last week and a half and had a lot of things going on. Also it is easy to lose track of PM's.

You address has 75,037 HYP and it has minted 10,000 of that. You may have more in change addresses. Follow billotronic's instructions and see if more shows up.

Also, if you take five seconds to read, you would see that me and a lot of others care a lot about the wallet, and have put hundreds of hours of work into the wallet. It is a bit annoying when people that have no idea what is going on, come in to this thread with crazy assumptions.

I fully understand your frustration there, Press.

To Saros: Not sure where you have been, but the HyperStake community has been very responsive since the day the coin launched. Presstab and I met when he was on the TEK development team, and he was always quick to answer then, too. Generally tried to lead me to the solution by logic to make me learn, which some days was irritating, but in the long term I am grateful for this. From him, and a few others, I have learned enough that I COULD create a clone coin. I have no real inclination to do so, but considering where I started, that's something.

Yes, a LOT of alts have been hyped up for a little while and abandoned. This one is NOT one of those. We're a very active community.
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 14 miilion BTC, today on: March 30, 2015, 11:00:27 AM
Uh..
every 2016 blocks bitcoin adjusts the difficulty to maintain the growth at the planned speed. Every four years the block reward drops in half. it's a rough representation of gold mining, which was once easy and now requires massive amounts of effort and power. We're at most a couple of days off the projection, and I doubt even that.
Are you sure about this? From what I've been paying attention it's much more than that. I think that we're 10-15 days off if not more. The halving was supposed to be in August 2016, but it looks like it's coming in July.
Yes, that's what I'm saying. Moving a bit faster than planned. I understand we're not much off the plan, but probably enough to be concerned.
Sorry about the other thread. Hadn't seen it.
No. It is still not significant enough to be concerned. Well if anyone really thought about how the mining process works, he would have expected this.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1005657.0

You may be right. the arms race did seriously accelerate a few of the difficulty periods. But as it leveled off, I've also seen a fair number of hour long blocks, so, dunno. I'll leave that to better or at least more rested minds for tonight. Even if it were a couple of weeks, though, it's hardly huge. It accelerates the halving, which reduces the inflation.

Personally, I think that many alts handle difficulty and block times far better with short retargeting times. I think bitcoin would be improved by the addition of something like Kimoto's gravity well. But I still don't see it's current paradigm as particularly problematic.
931  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Not a Cop? You’re a 2nd Class Citizen on: March 30, 2015, 10:53:43 AM
Lovely.

I live 50 miles away.

However, I disagree with the title of the thread. Cops, and their masters (which ain't you!) don't view the "mundanes", as Will Grigg puts it, as second class citizens. They view us as milch cows and targets.

On my part, I view anyone who willingly surrenders their personal identity to the herd (or government) to be significantly less than human, and I have NO problem telling a cop that.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 14 miilion BTC, today on: March 30, 2015, 10:26:54 AM
March, the 30th of 2015.
Today's a big day. The 14 millionth BTC shall be mined in a few hours. This may be terrible news.

This equals to two thirds of all BTC, and I wonder if this was what Satoshi Nakamoto had in mind. When I discovered BTC, I learned the idea of a money supply which would be fully controlled and slow-growing. This over 150 years, but today we see that after only 6 years, less than one tenth of the supposed time to mine all BTC, two thirds have already been mined. Was that the plan? Or could there be too many miners, accelerating the growth of money supply faster than planned?

question... trying to use console, its occurred twice now on 2 different fresh installs of DARK-qt, my wallet crashes and i have to delete everything. Is this a known issue? seems like a similar problem from FUDcoin but i could be wrong. With that said, how do you importprivkeys from twitter if the wallet crashes when using console? thanks.

What platform are you on? This problem has never been reported. Thank you for reporting it.

Win7. It could just be me. but when i type "help" or "importprivkey" in the console it crashes. i did find after the third time a restart of my system allowed me access back in my wallet but if I try typing in the console again the problem returns until I restart the system. yes, i will upload the debug .log file in a minute... let me make it crash again lol

it happens when i am in the console, i type "help" and as soon as I hit enter CRASH pming you a link to the debug file in just a sec

I've run into this before with other coins. Try right clicking and "run as administrator" rather than just clicking the link. No guarantees, but it worked for me. Windows can be amazingly bitchy. I dumped it almost a year ago and have had far fewer problems Tongue

Hi,

Why does the wallet (2.2.0.0 Windows) try to stake before the block chain is fully downloaded.  I open my wallet every week or so to sync/stake and

when my weight is much greater than the network I have had the block chain fork.  This requires a complete re-download of the chain.  Is this normal

behavior? Huh

lock your wallet and once the sync is complete, unlock it to stake.

or just put a huge reservebalance line in your tekcoin.conf file.

Hi,

The Bittrex wallet looks to be in the same state as poloniex.  Could the developer please reach out to us and include us on the same fix that is being worked on for poloniex?

Thanks,

Ryan @ Bittrex

I'm now on the team. If no one else contacts you by tomorrow, let me know and I'll see that the right eyes see it Cheesy

We have yet to hear anything from anyone associated with GMC about fixing this issue. If someone could reach out about what's happening that would be great.

Ryan @ Bittrex
One of our guys (medic, I believe), is planning to contact you either today or tomorrow. (he told me, I just can't remember which)

You need to fix the OP to let everyone discovering this know its origins.

I personally think this is a very bad idea. Then again, I think Dark (the real one) changing to Dash is a very bad idea.

We'll let the market decide, as we must.
