922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Linux live cd with Bitcoin already installed? on: February 17, 2014, 07:05:24 PM
Wouldn't trust it, if it did exist.

Which flavour of linux you using? I've not had problems on Mint, so expect all flavours Debian are stable.

Can you not just download bitcoin-0.8.6-linux.tar.gz from https://bitcoin.org/bin/0.8.6/ extract from tar.gz and run the //bitcoin-0.8.6-linux/bin/32/bitcoin-qt ?

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 but have had problems installing from the terminal. I haven't extracted the tar.gz from bitcoin.org and I guess I could try that and see if that works I don't know why it's not working in the command line because I have root access etc.

926  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Linux live cd with Bitcoin already installed? on: February 17, 2014, 06:37:34 PM
I was wondering if there was a Linux live cd with Bitcoin already installed on it because I have had difficulty installing the Bitcoin client on Linux recently I don't know why or if its to do with compatability with the linux version.

I'm looking for a live cd with Bitcoin already installed to make it easier does this exist and does it work on the stable version of Linux?

"MtGOX is not the default price provider for BTCs Market"

Good man for including that would of been a disaster if you included them on the site looks cool so far.

Why doesn't the script stay open? also if you do find the K would it be negative to Bitcoin?
if you find k you can access any btc address and transfer the funds to any address you want!

How would some one do that wit hthe value of K?
2^256=1.1579209e+77
that means you have to move . to the right 77 digits
I don't even know how to read that number

If you find the k you can find out that btc address private key and you can import it in your wallet Wink

even if you did put the . after the 77 digits what does that do that doesn't give you a private key at all how would someone use k to get into some ones wallet is this something to be concerned about with Bitcoin? Say someone found the value of K and for example it was 22. what would they do with that number to gain access to someones wallet?

So the op is trying to crack this in order to steal everyones wallets?

HAHAHAHA

no need to worry

even if the whole BTC scene would put all their mining rigs together and try to find the k value it will take them some time!

Fist the sun will explode and  only after that you will find the value of k Smiley

but isn't it random so someone may get lucky and will be able to destroy Bitcoin?

Quote
# find the correct k
  k=1
  # !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the "k=1" part into something between  k=1 and 2^256 to find the value of K?

931  Other / Meta / Re: Possible to have username changed? on: February 17, 2014, 05:07:41 PM
Why don't the admins reduce those amounts to reflect the current value of BTC? I'm sure many people would send donations (that could also be used to fix the forum software).

When VIP and Donator ranks were added it was stated that the price for them would not be changed, it's pegged to BTC not $.

Are all staff members donators to then? why aren't they expressing their opinons on the donation funds?
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is A joke and will never last. on: February 17, 2014, 05:06:02 PM
Actually Bitcoin is the coolest name for a Crypto ever. Worldcoin, Flashcoin, Litecoin, etc. have NOTHING on Bitcoin. You want some Bits? Some Milly Bits? Some Micro Bits? I'll send you a Bit, in a bit. See?

Very good you better send me a few bits in a bit my good friend.

From the screenshots it looks like a really good site and could be useful to some Bitcoiners.
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition To Remove Mark Karpeles From The Bitcoin Foundation Board on: February 17, 2014, 04:45:51 PM
Hopefully something will be done when we get 72 more signatures about his position at the board he is obviously not wanted by the community and should be removed.

938  Other / Off-topic / Re: There are tons of people not knowing/getting what bitcoin is and how it works on: February 17, 2014, 04:15:03 PM
I have researched Bitcon a lot of I still don't understand parts of it and wish I could wrap my head around it but some parts are very difficult.

I think you'd have to be a very bright person to understand it fully. As long as you know and understand the basics that's probably enough.

I understand the basics and the security sides of things but I would like to know more about it and keep reading any information I find.
939  Other / Off-topic / Re: Any ps3 emulators? on: February 17, 2014, 04:13:57 PM

Most of the ones I have come across are not legit and install viruses can you send me one which be legit?
940  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Escrow question on: February 17, 2014, 04:12:25 PM
There should be a website for escrow, something a script should handle not a person.

im trusted and do free escrow

I am not trading just yet but when I am I might contact you to set something up.

I think he wasn't being serious.

He seems to know what he is doing and I don't think I could trust a script or a website to handle the money just in case that got hacked beucase I'm sure it would be a big target for hackers.

I was thinking a website of the level of PayPal.

Paypal wouldn't do escrow for Bitcoin I don't know any big websites/companies which offer escrow services for Bitcoin if you know any please let me see them.
