If Manchester city have that much confidence in their club that it will be so easy for Jude Bellingham to turn down Real Madrid and Liverpool they will be lying to themselves. I think all three clubs have the financial capability to pay the required fees but it will be the decision of the player to decide which club is suitable for him. Cody Gakpo will be an excellent signing for Manchester United, he will add more attacking power in the absence of Ronaldo.

Yes it will all depend on how quickly he can become indispensable member of the team in the midfield and at City and Madrid he can't easily become right now. I think Liverpool should be the likely choice given they have publicly hinted that they need a strong mid and what's better than Bellingham with the age and the potential he has. I think he can quickly become a crucial member and can play for the Reds for a very very long time.

Gabriel Jesus having injury may cause arsenal to lose point.  Gabriel Jesus presence in arsenal was a big achievement to arsenal,  but since he is having injury arsenal have no other option than to use Nketiah . I don't want to conclude yet if Nketiah will be of good replacement, I'll hold on and wait to see his performance if it can help arsenal to remain consistent.

Well Nketiah worked for us when others were not performing like Lacazette and Aubameyang and we struggled to put goals on the board for us. It's gonna take some time to adjust but I think he can score goals but just need to keep things calm and play the team game like the current squad is doing otherwise it will not work out well for Gunners. I have seen him getting selfish at some easy situations but then again have seen him score in difficult positions as well. He needs a time to develop- that's for sure, so its gonna take Arteta to keep him work according to the game plan.

Interesting, Kelvin De Bruyne made two beautiful assist in the EFL Cup game against Liverpool. He was everywhere around the Midfield, creating chances. His assist both to Haaland and AKE made Pep Guardiola hail him as a Manchester City "legend". Rico Lewis is another star, a potential threat following how he held the ball more than any other player when they played against Liverpool, with exception to Rodri. His performance can push him into a big star at City

Kevin De Bruyne has beautiful vision and shot power. He plays simple football and is really someone who drives their midfield as I earlier said. Also yeah Rodri is also a great player and is a midfield gem. He is a player who is good at passing and also has good ball retention in the midfield. City plays him as a centre mid but he played as a centre back in Spain WC squad so he is adaptable to defensive positions as well. Will surely agree on Rodri becoming a crucial player in 1-2 years for City.

Arsenal is trying to sign this player really badly. This player can strengthen the midfield of Arsenal very well. He is the center mid who does not cost too much money and his salary is also not something crazy like some other players. He is also not too old. Manchester United wanted to get him, but the talk between him and Manchester United did not go anywhere. So now Arsenal is trying to get him in the team quite desperately. We also have to remember that Arsenal have some injury problems in their team. So they will have to make some transfers very quickly. But is Juventas going to let him go?

Its not about how less cost he has right now but let me play out a scenario for you. Suppose you are getting a player at a low fee and a salary but its still is a loss if he sits out on the bench. The reason why I mentioned bench is because Arsenal already have 4 players - Xhaka, Partey, Elneny and Lokonga and all of them play as CDM/CM role. Xhaka and Partey are the ones who start usually and I don't see any of them leaving the club anytime soon so I don't feel like this is gonna happen unless Xhaka or Partey leaves the club or Elneny or Lokonga leaves the club and Rabiot is ready to become a rotational player for the Gunners.

De Bruyne's importance can be realized easily from his last official match with his team as well.

Manchester City played a big match against Liverpool in the EFL Cup as you know. De Bruyne was like the most performing player of the match undoubtedly. His passes and especially crosses were so successful that all of them were finding their targets. The assists to Haaland and especially Ake were amazing to watch. If you look closely to him while he is making those crosses you can see easily that it is like a usual thing for him now. He is making them like he is doing nothing difficult. This is the result of hard work of course.

He is the main hub in the midfield of City so yeah he is very important to the team. Furthermore, Guardiola also adjusts his role accordingly to the situation in the game so he is flexible as well so that makes him a main man in the squad. Gundo and Silva are also other two names who are crucial to the team as well but De Bruyne is really way past them in my opinion.

City have game against Leeds next and should take this one easily with a good margin.

I don't see Newcastle dropping points anytime soon because with the kind of players they have and the kind of team spirit in the camp at the moment, their main target is to remain in the top four or better still, win the premier league.Anything is possible in football, they might be waiting for just a slide from Arsenal to close up the gap they have between them,Manchester city and Arsenal.
Although I know this will be impossible to do but we can't just rule it out, whereas Tothenham are behind Newcastle and want to overtake them by all means, but with the way I'm seeing things the season, Newcastle might finish above Totthenham,Liverpool, and Chelsea.
I can't wait to see the EPL restart, and also see the match between Newcastle vs Leicester City. in this match I'm sure newcastle will make another surprise, they will definitely win, newcastle is an unexpected team, they have performed very well so far

I agree with you that most likely Newcastle will finish in the top 4 and get a UCL ticket for next season
When expecting Newcastle to win, you should also evaluate Leicester City's performance. You might be right, but Leicester City is also strong, so don't be surprised if the game ends in a draw. Because both clubs are strong, I believe they won't want to give up their positions for one another. Leicester City has won four of their last five games, and I have a second inkling that they will prevail because even the odds differentials are not too large.

Yeah one shouldn't undermine Brendan Rodgers and his squad . They have a great squad with very good players like Barnes, Maddison, Tielemans, Vardy, Iheanacho who can bring the winning momentum again for the Foxes. It will be although difficult against Neecastle given how Magpies have been playing recently but Leicester also are capable of giving them a hard time.

IMHO, it's no surprise that Adrien Rabiot is attracting interest from top clubs after his impressive performance at the Qatar World Cup. He was a major factor in helping the french team reaching the final.

And in England, he could probably sign another high-paying contract. That is why it could well be likely that one of the three English clubs ManU, Arsenal or Spurs sign him at the end.

Do you really think he'll only get a place on the bench at Arsenal? In my opinion, he easily has the quality to assert himself in any squad in the world. Personally, I would love to see him at ManU. He could help bring the club back to what it used to be.

Yes Rabiot really performed well in World Cup. IIRC Man United were very much interested in Rabiot in last transfer window. Not sure what happened after then but that obviously would have proved to be a good signing then. Anyway they still have Casemiro and Eriksen who plays as CDM and I don't think they are letting any of them go in order to free up some space for Rabiot. Arsenal and Spurs are both full at this position as well and I don't see any rumours of them leaving anytime soon. I mean they might sell some but it would be hard to get first team picture given the way defensive midfielders are playing in these teams.

It's  not a surprise anymore with the way Newcastle are performing and how poor Leicester are performing. Newcastle should be able to win this easily but I expect Leicester to change their momentum after the World Cup as I don't expect them to relegate at the end of the season. Newcastle on other hand also should be targetting to keep their momentum going on still. It's a tough game  but Newcastle seems to be the likely one although a part of me also supports Leicester here too.

According to several rumors that came out today Real Madrid is interested in Locatelli if they cannot sign Bellingham.

Not a bad choice given the thing that they do need a defensive midfielder after Casemiro's departure. They need new generation midfield and I think Locatelli is a decent choice a midfielder. Well Bellingham obviously should be the real target though. He is too good to let go but the question is there are lot of clubs in the race and that might lead to clubs going big for him right from the start. Will Madrid go that big and also beat Liverpool who are looking for a strong midfield and are very much interested in Bellingham? I have slight doubt
 about that.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 22, 2022, 06:45:11 PM
On the other hand, I think Manchester United still needs a striker who can really become a mainstay player. Anthony Martial has not been performing well due to his propensity for injuries, and after Ronaldo's departure it is only natural that someone thinks of a player who deserves to replace him. Depay or Gakpo are the only two possible signings, I'd love to see one of them there this season.

Yeah now that you mention it they do have players that go injured frequently so I think they do need a striker. Galpo for sure was the name they were interested in when the World Cup started and he started throwing some spectacular performances in group stage. About Delay, I don't know but can't deny it or rule it out completely given the United history of re-signing players they let go earlier for example Pogba.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: December 22, 2022, 05:12:37 PM
One thing that was indeed Man United mistake when they didn't renew Rasford contract was that they would return to their initial settings and the team's performance also decreased again. Rashford just needs to hone his skills longer at Man United and make himself a core player to keep. The potential for a young age that Man United must watch out for at this time. I no longer understand how the direction and goals of Man United, including Ten Hag, view the future of big clubs at this time.

Rashford can do lot better and the reason I think United didn't offered the contract extension because they had that clause in his contract and maybe needed time till the last moment to think about the player if they want to keep him or let go because there are too much of striker and right now with the situation where they terminated Ronaldo's contract they need to have him now. I think Rashford is crucial for the squad and yes he does need to live up to the expectations as he is part of one of the big clubs of the PL.

With the world Cup Mac Alister had surely his price will go up, Brighton will surely try to milk from clubs for him. He will be a good acquisition for Arsenal. My only worry is maybe he could live up to hype and play for top club. We have seen players go down hill after an excellent world Cup. Should Arsenal not get him I think Fabio Viera will add depth if given the opportunity or more playing time.

Joao Felix is not a proper center Foward I think Arsenal should be looking at PSV Gakpo and Juve Vlahovic they are both cheaper than Felix and a proper Strikers

I have been admirer of lot of Brighton players and Mac Allister is one of them. It will be great to have him at Arsenal but right now the concrete rumors link to Mykhailo Mudryk of Shakhtar Donetsk. I think they are really going after Mudryk and want to happen in this upcoming transfer window. I am not sure Gakpo is in the list but with Jesus injured we do need a striker but I think we already have Nketiah so might need to adjust a little bit in the absence of Jesus. Vlahovic denied all the calls for preliminary talks of the the transfer when they were interested in the player last year, I hardly think he will be on the list.

According to rumors from Transfermarkt, it looks like Real Madrid are very interested in signing Josko Gvardiol from RB Leipzig. With his brilliant performances with Croatia in the 2022 world cup, making him one of the targets for Real Madrid in the January transfer market. It looks like Real Madrid still needs a back cover to strengthen its defense, maybe with Rudiger and Eder Militao they still need other options, Josko Gvardiol's services are really needed to strengthen Real Madrid's back line next season.

Young talent and definitely will be targetted by lot of clubs after his performances at the World Cup. He was the crucial player in defence alongside Lovren for Croatia. I however find it difficult to see him move as Madrid already has Alaba, Rudiger, Militao, Nacho and to add one more who will need first team time will be really difficult for Ancelotti to manage. Unless they offload one of these names I don't see the move happening.

Though the season is very tough in EPL, every club is struggling to have a position at the top of the table.  It is shocking to see Chelsea in this kind of position. I think Chelsea's board was quite impatient with Thomas Tuchel, and I think they now realize that everyone in a coaching system deserves time to learn and manage a club when things are not in order. In 2021, Tuchel brought a very good strategy, and this helped in pushing Chelsea to the position no one hoped for Chelsea that season. But when things turned around, he wasn't given a chance to annul the constraint, rather, they brought Graham Potter whose performance in more than 3 months is far below Tuchel's.

I think under Abrahamovic it was going great but after change of ownership lot of things change. Now we don't know what went behind the scenes but certainly there was some kind of disagreement which led to Tuchel's departure. Lot of changes went down at Chelsea so I would say give them a moment. They need things to settle down and make things right and that certainly wouldn't happen in a snap.

It was a good chance to finally stop Abrahimovich from dominating UK football with Chelsea
I see it is all about the returns and profit the new management and owners are facing
We can't tell what is going down behind the scenes

Well don't know what he was doing actually behind but under his ownership they saw some good success. Now it's upto Ted Boehly now how he is gonna settle things down at Chelsea. One point is obvious that it certainly will take time like I said. They lack in lot areas and I am sure they are having long list of transfer list to work on and bring players in.

I also low-key wanted DiMaria to stay in the field. I thought he was playing really well and also doing really well controlling the ball. He was dictating the flow of the game. Messy is not being able to do that as much as people want him to. Honestly, he is also quite old right now so it is obviously hard for him to play like a young player like Mbappé.

Di Maria substitution was something that I didn't understand. Plus Acuna in place of Di Maria was a bit odd. Not sure what the tactic was there but it kinda dropped the productivity rate from the left hand side.

Anyway shootout time now. I hope Argentina win in the end.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 18, 2022, 05:21:08 PM
Wow, that is a very extraordinary achievement that was made by Mbappe as a young player and moreover if France can win the World Cup this time then Mbappe is a complete young player.
I didn't think France could score a quick goal like that, but I think the blame lies with Argentina replacing Di Maria which made Argentina's gameplay more defensive. Even if Di Maria is still playing, then I'm sure Argentina can maintain the victory it has earned at half time.
First half and mostly in second half Argentina dominated the game.
France barely had a hold on the ball in the Argentina 18-yard box. Thanks to the penalty that gave them the need drive. Nobody expected that equalizer so soon. Mbappe once again proved himself. For now, let us ignore some of the irregularities from the ref.
The game is most likely to end in a penalty shootout.

France pushed hard after 75th and boy it did turned out well. Great goals from Mbappe to bring France right back into game. Right now I find France having a better momentum than Argentina. Argentina need to find a proper tactic to properly defend France wing runs which are creating most problems for Argentina.

Yeah seems likely that it will go into shootout but well let's see.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: December 17, 2022, 07:25:43 PM
It was actually closer than I thought.  Croatia is built to break down the defense of a team like Morocco.  Was thinking they were gonna win by 2 or 3 goals.  Overall good showing by both teams throughout the entire world cup well done.

Morocco were the only team this world cup that didn't conceded any goal till the semi-finals. They had pretty much strong defence until Saiss was there and once he was sidelined due to injury they started conceding. Morocco put up a great fight throughout the World Cup and really hoped they had something sweet in the end in return. Anyway they made us a fun tournament for us to watch.

Tomorrow Argentina vs France - predictions?

It took Arteta years to build this team. You can see that the patience and waiting has been rewarded, because there is a real team and strong team. But especially in the first seasons, things did not go well for Arsenal. There were serious doubts about whether Arteta would be capable enough to lead this team. He had little experience, and to suddenly coach Arsenal is difficult. And no one can compare to Arsene Wenger, the man who made Arsenal great and they once almost won the CL against Barcelona with 10 men. Will they become champions this season? It certainly could. Why not?

Yeah it certainly took time but I think we all know about how much time rebuilding the squad takes. Also I don't think anyone doubted Arteta ever. I don't know about fans but inside the Arsenal board they had full trust on Arteta including Edu. It's Edu and Arteta who worked along and are rebuilding the Arsenal. Arsene Wenger will always be a legend no doubt but he can't manage for a long period, he has to pass on the baton to someone just like Ferguson did at United.

Champions? Yes we certainly can if we continue to play like this.  Smiley

From my monitoring in various online media, Luke Shaw has also been offered by Manchester United for a new contract, but until now Manchester United has not discussed further about the contract extension for how many years. Luke Shaw's performances have been increasingly impressive in recent years and have become one of the best players in defense, making Manchester United take steps not to let go of the player.

Yeah he is not gonna move away from United. He knows he is playing for a great club and with a good history too. United and ten Haag also need him right now so I think sooner or later before the contract expiry of course he will sign the contract extension. I don't know when Luke Shaw last signed the contract but right now United need a strong player in that Left-back position and he is the best option United has currently and United wouldn't want to lose him before the next season.
