923  Other / Off-topic / Re: BFL Single in the wild (BOUNTY RECEIVED!!!) on: February 26, 2012, 12:57:34 AM
BFL told me that their initial production run of Rig Boxes is already sold out..!
Now this is really getting interesting...
924  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: FPGA - 1st Quarter 2012 Summary (BFL vs. Icarus ?) on: February 25, 2012, 03:13:17 AM
So BFL has delivered 2 whole units and now X6500 and ztex are obsolete?

That's comedy.

Unlike BFL, both Ztex and the X6500 crew are contributors to this board (especially the X6500 crew) and have been totally upfront and honest since Day 1.

We'll see who's still around a year from now.

And yes! I would totally love to see how you got MPBM working on OpenWRT!!!
+1

Hi all,

Apologies for taking so long to come up with a response, I've been real busy with work these few months.
I've managed to synthesize a bitstream that should net you 120Mhash. It'll require further testing, but it should work. I'm working with Fizzi to get it hosted on his site, but meanwhile until that is done I could email you guys individually if you'd PM me with your email address.
Here it is: http://fpgamining.com/bitstreams/X5000_120MHash.zip
I know you're super busy but am curious if we can go a little faster with the ztex-merge?
927  Economy / Goods / Asus Ares MIB (1gh/s) or trade for FPGA Miner(s) on: October 30, 2011, 10:21:39 PM
This thing is a beast.  Happily overvolts/overclocks and begs for me.  1gh/s on a single card.

(I have been running it underclocked/undervolted to reduce power consumption by 1/3rd).

Looks like the Virtex_7 released today.  You guys thinking of incorporating that into V3?

I'm sure it's really spendy.  Anybody know pricing?

932  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Random shut-downs. Dying PSU? on: September 26, 2011, 12:44:09 AM
So my main miner has been randomly shutting down.  No warning, no errors, just goes down.  Like the cord was pulled.  Am thinking the PSU may be going bad but am curious about other possible causes.  Has anyone else had this problem?

If so what was the solution?
933  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Custom FPGA Mining Board: X6000/X6500 on: September 12, 2011, 11:53:47 PM
So you are abbandoning the ship ... what about the people that already paid and are waiting for the cards ?
Not very professional attitude, I think.
No other company offers complete transparency like these guys.
934  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: STOP storing your Bitcoins on ANONYMOUS WEB! on: September 12, 2011, 10:31:15 PM
OP is absolutely correct.  Considering the bitcoin industry has zero regulation, there is nothing stopping anyone from walking away with all of your bitcoins.  It wouldn't even be illegal.  The scammers know this and that is why they are getting away with it.
935  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5970 new in stock newegg 499$ ! on: September 05, 2011, 07:27:28 PM
Pipesnake,

You have 3 5970 and the APU A8? which motherboard do you use? extenders?
Well I did.  Here was the setup:

Motherboard Brand: ASRock
Motherboard Model & PCIe Slots: A75 EXTREME6 (3 PCIe x 16 slots)
Power Supply Brand & Model: Dell 875w and Dell 525w
Number & Model GPUs: 3 x 5970 (6 x 5870 Cypress) and A8-3850 APU
Extender Cables w/Molex Power?: No

Screen:

2.2gh/s and approx 900 watts from the wall.  However I was getting almost 25% stales so I pulled one the cards and it fell back under 1%
936  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5970 new in stock newegg 499$ ! on: September 04, 2011, 12:42:04 AM
dells have less than 80% efficiency. Cost probably over $100 a year more to run those against a 80plus gold.
O'rly?

937  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: What's the latest on 7xxx series from radeon? on: September 02, 2011, 10:26:52 PM
I would have to disagree with you on this point.  the 5 series runs cooler, clock em higher, and they have more stream processors.
Agreed

5970 >> 6990
938  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: HD5970 new in stock newegg 499$ ! on: September 02, 2011, 03:23:10 AM
Here's a little secret:  I buy used Alienware/Dell 875-1100 on eBay for cheap ($75-150)

Everyone wants a 1200w Silverstone or Corsair but frankly those Dell units are rock solid and if anything are watt underrated.  Dell does that to keep its butt covered.  I have 2 5970s and an AMD A8-3850 APU on a single 875 and it's been running for months.  The wiring harness is ugly as hell but who cares?

An Alienware 1100w will easily run 3 possibly 4 slightly undervolted (1000mV).  The thing is ginormous.

 Cheesy
