921  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Who’s itching to buy? on: May 21, 2022, 12:53:27 PM
Hi guys. I'm newbie here. Wanted to hear your opinions.

These red candles got me wanting to itch my itch. I know about DCA. I think little more of a drop and we reverse. Just trying to not get too eager. I'm trying to catch this bitcoin bounce by setting two additional limit orders to open a long position on wowswap exchange.

What do you think about the current bear run, will it turn around? What price for bitcoin do you track? Will we get on the big green planes?

I'm thinking of buying a few more alts from the top 100. With everything being down in the last month they seem to be safer plays.

I’ve already started DCA for Bitcoin this month without question. Could have ended up buying LUNA because of those temptations lol, but I’ve already decided to go for long term with Bitcoin. As of right now, only BTC and ETH are the worthy coins to do DCA.

I know that we are waiting for the right time to buy Bitcoin when it dips even more. But the reality is that there is no perfect timing. Regardless of the price movement of BTC, I have made a commitment to DCA with Bitcoin with my extra money (can’t say beer money coz’ I don’t drink that lol) which is to build wealth overtime.
922  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what age did you start learning about bitcoin? on: May 21, 2022, 12:50:05 PM
I learned about Bitcoin in early 2014. I was 27 back then. This is where I created my Bitcointalk account, Coins PH, Blockchain wallet, etc. But the problem is that I had no clue on what Bitcoin is really all about. That time, BTC was under $600 and since I only earned very low that time as a guy from a 3rd world country, I can’t afford it.

Only if I hadn’t put my money into network marketing back then, I could have at least throw it into BTC. Because of my poor decision, I ignored and forgot Bitcoin for more than 3 years. The reason why I got back into BTC is that not only it crosses $10k for the first time that year (2017), but I’ve seen some people on Facebook have made money very well in BTC and cryptocurrencies (especially airdrops and bounties) and the rest is history.
923  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will LUNA be recovered ever? on: May 21, 2022, 12:40:04 PM
LUNA went to ZERO, causing inflation. What is going to happen next? Is there any chance it will rise again in the near future?

I hate to say this but I don’t think it will recover. As you can see, Do Kwon is facing a lawsuit from a South Korean law firm and also a tax evasion case of approximately 78 million USD. With these bad news going on, LUNA will plunge even further even with the proposed fork. Most likely those who have hold some LUNA will just simply dump the newly-forked tokens and even drag the original LUNA and UST into it.

His chances of making LUNA relevant again are zero to very slim. This will just end up as a new memecoin instead.
924  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]DESERT FARM NFT GAME READY[WAXP]TOOLS DROP[LIQUIDITY]BEST ECONOMY[HIGH ROI] on: May 21, 2022, 11:50:59 AM
I assume that all of these newbie accounts who replied except for blowon are multiple farm accounts for the purpose of bumping this ANN thread and not letting it grow organically. If you look at their replies, they’re pretty one-sided and not genuine at all. No mixed criticisms whatsoever for these brand new and newbie accounts.

I think the mods should keep an eye on all of these newbie accounts who responded to this thread, especially if they are registered with the same IP address. That’s just me concerning of course.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Luna CEO summoned by lawmakers on: May 20, 2022, 12:05:45 PM
Whether we like it or not, he has to pay the price. He was accused for tax evasion around 78 billion. If LUNA goes down along with the forked one, the winners are the ones who shorted LUNA in futures trade despite the big risks in this method.

I never invested a single LUNA token even if it did dipped back then and pumped shortly. Then it goes back to dip mode again, but this time with the ongoing lawsuits and uncertainties, I don’t think there is no way LUNA would become relevant anymore as it already loses trust from investors and enthusiasts.
926  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Phones on mobile wallet becoming riskier on: May 20, 2022, 12:00:12 PM
When I was hacked $12k worth of assets in my 3 Metamask/Trust Wallet accounts combined, I just realized that it’s time for me to consider storing them seriously in my Ledger Nano S. So from now on, my assets should be stored in the Ledger Nano S.

It is not safe anymore to store them in mobile wallets, especially if you have exchange apps like Binance, KuCoin, etc. In the future, if muggers would definitely going to take advantage of it, they would really force us not only to hand over our phones, but also to unlock it with finger print or facial recognition. In case our exchange apps have extra layers of verification, they would also force us to do that before handing it over to them to steal our assets.

My advice is that if we don’t need to withdraw or transact our assets while going outside, better not bring our phones where we have installed Binance, Trust Wallet, etc. Always have a burner phone where you can just simply bring it for communication purposes only and not having crypto apps there. Just my two cents.

The wider the adoption, these kinds of crimes would also increase too. That’s the sad reality though.
927  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 40 high schools in Argentina to launch bitcoin in their curriculum. on: May 20, 2022, 11:49:22 AM
A huge development for Argentina where schools are starting to adopt Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in their curriculum. How I wish that the Philippines would also be like that in the future. It’s all about educating the masses about Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in a positive way, especially in letting them aware of the real use cases of it. It’s just right for these schools in order for the future generation not to be left behind on the future of digital money and investments.
928  Other / Meta / Re: Post funny/clever usernames here on: May 19, 2022, 01:00:08 PM
Haha!!! Now why I choose this username?

Coz’ I love the junk food named Chiz Curls by Jack N’ Jill! You might wanna Google that lol! Grin

But loving junk food was the past already, because I choose to be healthy (doing keto low carb diet for 6 months now).
929  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Another warning for every NEWBIE! on: May 19, 2022, 12:56:07 PM
I know most of us here already knew what happened to $LUNA but for the sake of beginners, I want to reiterate and give a warning about investing and going all in on this market.

I saw a post online in our local group about money investing and he shared his experience their about losing all his life saving money because of $LUNA investment, this is very heart breaking and that guy really want to end his life which I hope he wont do it. This is why I want to list some of the reminders about crypto investment and I hope every beginners here won't do the same mistake.

CRYPTO INVESTING - SHORT REMINDER

1. DON'T USE YOUR SAVINGS FOR YOUR INVESTMENT ACTIVITIES - Use your separate funds if you are going to invest on any market and make sure that you are ready to lose that money because investing is not a guaranteed way to make profit, so have some funds for this.

2. DON'T BORROW MONEY - Many still do the same mistake like this and when the market turns to negative, they are also drowning and the situation will get worst simply because they use the money which is not them. If you want to become profitable, save for your capital first.

3. DON'T BE GREEDY - If you already lose money, you should stop for a while and study again so you can know what's wrong with your strategy and start analyzing again so you can do better next time.

This is just a short reminder since I want to highlights the important things you need to know before investing.
There's a lot of news about suicide incidents because of losing money on their investments, and I don't want you to ended up on the same path so please do your own research first and again invest only what you can afford to lose.

I have encountered many Filipinos on Facebook who are either one of these three (and maybe all of them) because they are getting FOMO’d not just on LUNA, but in any other project before until today as they are not doing their own research.

But most of them I have encountered is that they’ve spent all of their life savings into LUNA and futures trading without doing much research, no to very less experience, etc., that results for them to being greedy and losing everything.

There’s one stock investor I have encountered who is going all-in on LUNA and futures trade. He was suppose to get married with his long time girlfriend, but ended up losing everything of his life savings because of this decision. We just simply can’t do anything about it anymore except learn our lessons, reflect and move on.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is it possible UST recovered ? on: May 19, 2022, 12:48:22 PM
is it possible UST recovered ?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think UST will become relevant anymore. It won’t survive for long, and it may even cease to exist in the near future if LUNA keeps falling down. Even the proposed LUNA fork by Do Kwon won’t guarantee that it would mark the biggest comeback of LUNA.

It gets much worse for me to be honest because if everyone buys LUNA because of the airdrop snapshot, then when it distributes and enters the market both LUNA, UST and the newly-forked LUNA will both go down as traders start to dump it as it’s free money. Just my opinion.
931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you own 1 Bitcoin? (2022 edition) on: May 19, 2022, 12:39:36 PM
How I wish I’ll be one of those who have owned 1 BTC, especially that I was hacked almost a month ago in which I am planning to invest some of those into Bitcoin. Right now, I’m just putting a little bit of my funds every month to BTC for building long-term wealth through dollar-cost averaging (DCA).
932  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: OracleEasy - crypto signal on: May 18, 2022, 12:45:21 PM
I don’t think this is the right section to shill your crypto trading signal. Correct me if I’m wrong, but it should be in the Services or in the Service Announcements section as this was only meant for normal trading discussions and not for shilling your services.

I think the mods should take action on this and the other “newbie accounts” who are creating their own threads to shill their own crypto trading signal services here.
933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's all about HODLing on: May 18, 2022, 12:36:50 PM
Yes sure, you just keep HODling "crypto currency" like Terra Luna and all the cryptocurrencies that have disappeared or are worth almost zero that you will do very well.

The only thing worthwhile HODLing is BTC.

Super agreed! I was tempted between LUNA and BTC where I see others are getting FOMO’d days ago after they’ve bought the dip. But I chose BTC because I want long-term results and not some altcoin like LUNA that would likely rug slowly and get dumped when LUNA holders going to mass sell the fork version of it.

I was surprised that my beautiful European friend who is much more experienced than me chose to buy LUNA because of enormous trading volume rather than considering the worst-case scenario after the fork.
934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Time to put money in ETH? on: May 18, 2022, 12:21:37 PM
If only my Trust Wallet wasn’t hacked, I still have a good amount of ETH right now. Assuming that I still have ETH right now, I wouldn’t sell it. Even if I am buying it right now, I will HODL it because I believe it’ll cross past its then-ATH of around $4,600. The consensus layer was yet to be deployed by Vitalik Buterin and his team, which replaced the ETH 2.0.

Even if there are no guarantees or promises, I had a good feeling that ETH will come back stronger.
935  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Did you live through the last bear market ? If so, what did you learn ? on: May 17, 2022, 12:35:56 PM
Yes I did and it was tough indeed no matter if I have invested in some coins or tokens, or joining airdrops and bounty programs, etc., it’s definitely a terrible experience for me back then. I regretted not selling at the top before the great Bitcoin crash started. But thanks to my continuous gigs back then in 2018 to 2019, I’ve managed to sustain them and continuing my advocacy to spread awareness and educating the masses about Bitcoin and cryptos.

I learned my lesson back then when I was still in my first year in doing Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies seriously by not being driven by FOMO, never sell at a loss, never be greedy, etc.
936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is it bad to leave crypto on exchanges? on: May 17, 2022, 12:26:59 PM
It’s simply because you do not have the custody of the assets there. Exchanges can freeze your account under any circumstances and has the power to suspend deposits and withdrawals. The worst thing would happen is if an exchange would disappear like thin air due to massive server hack, etc., where the possibilities of seizing all assets of the users are high. This is why we don’t trust on exchanges to store our crypto assets, but only use them for trading purposes (e.g., spot, futures, margin, etc.).
937  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will LUNA be recovered ever? on: May 17, 2022, 12:22:37 PM
Despite the mixed opinions of others, I chose not buy LUNA because I know it’ll come down to the Earth even if the founder announced on Twitter that they will be having a LUNA fork and also planning to destroy UST once and for all. I don’t trust their long term plans. Even if there will be a fork airdrop ongoing for those who are holding LUNA, they will dump it anyway. So both LUNA and the newly forked LUNA, will both go down anyways.

I ended up buying Bitcoin instead at the $30k range.  Grin
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] GOLD - First 100% Liquid Stablecoin Backed by Gold on: May 16, 2022, 02:05:10 PM
I've tried trading GOLD yesterday, and I paid around $8 for ETH gas fees. But last month, I remember that the gas fees were over $25. To be honest, I would really love GOLD to be open for multi-chain support aside from relying on ETH alone because our main goal was to save as much fees as we can because ETH's gas fees are exorbitant whether we buy or sell it in their own internal marketplace.

And good thing that the safety certificate was renewed and settled, so it's all good.

Gas fees spiked again and ethereum 2.0 is delayed, please bring token on alternative cheaper chains.

Just to clarify that Ethereum 2.0 isn't delayed, but already ditched by Vitalik Buterin months ago. It will be rebranded to consensus layer instead.

See the source here: https://cryptoslate.com/why-did-ethereum-rebrand-eth-2-0-to-consensus-layer/

Attention! The attack on the USDT stablecoin has begun. The chances of its success are much less than with the UST stablecoin. But who has open positions with a large margin, be careful
With USDT and their peg mechanism, it can not be depeged if I don't miss anything.

The attack on USDT happened many times in the past and law suits against Tether too. I hope that again it is just another fud to dump the market. When market is bearish, fud, hack, law suits, lots of negative news will appear at the same time.

It's not the first time that USDT was de-pegged. But as of this time of writing, it's now at $0.999 in CoinMarketCap and it'll be just an inch closer to a solid $1.00 per USDT.
939  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 44 countries will meet in El Salvador to discuss Bitcoin on: May 16, 2022, 09:45:55 AM
If I were to be asked if this latest development is bullish or not, I can't say about it yet since they are only discussing about "Bitcoin" but never stated if it's going to be positive or not about it. But of course regardless of the outcome, Bitcoin will be "well-advertised and promoted" under any circumstances. Let's just see what happens after the meeting was finished whether if the price goes up, down or just simply treading water.
