921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some rich person not interest about bitcoin for following reason on: November 15, 2023, 03:22:40 PM
Just wallet that hold worth of one millions of dollar of cm bitcoin got to 81,000 wallet addresses recently. More people hold bitcoin which are not up to $1 million dollars.

Bitcoin was at $36000 when this report was out.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-millionaire-wallets-triple-this-year

You can check some information about addresses on glassnode.

There are many people, including institutions that are holding bitcoin. He thought institutions do not have a reason for holding bitcoin?

I hope it is not too late when he will realized what the value of bitcoin could be in some years to come.
922  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Mexc Stop Limit Error ? on: November 15, 2023, 12:50:23 PM
As you can see in the screen shots I set the stop limit for XRP to 0.6263 and for some reason it activated and sold when the price was actually around 0.6298 why did it do that ?
I'm new at this, but this is the first time I have seen it happen.  here is screen shot links

Your image is not clear at all.

You may use market order and think that it is limit order. Make a trade like that again and use little amount of money.

You can also contact Mexc customer care to find out what happened.

But I think the mistake will be from you.
923  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost password for elecrum on: November 15, 2023, 10:48:55 AM
I only have a long password from which my payment password was derived, and wallet files.
If you have the seed phrase, you do not need the password. Only what you need is to import the seed phrase into Electrum again and set another password.

If you do not have the seed phrase, use btcrecover if you remember part of the passwords because the longer the password characters are the harder it would be to recover.
924  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How did you overcome the hurdles and gain confidence to trade as a Newbie? on: November 15, 2023, 10:44:18 AM
Some confidence are stupidity. One of the stupidity is to gamble with coins and thinking that you are trading but instead you are a gambler. Another is to use a high leverage that will make you to continue to lose. Another one is when you are not using the amount of money that you can afford to lose. It is better not to have confidence and not trade if not following the trading rules.
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Not all educated are educated. on: November 14, 2023, 02:44:20 PM
Why?

This:
Bitcoin services platform Swan Bitcoin warned its customers that it would be forced to terminate accounts found interacting with crypto-mixing due to the regulatory obligations of its partner banks.

And this:

Pritzker stated that the current political climate has put a lot of fear into the banking sector, with most banks simply refusing to do business with anything in crypto. Thus, for them to continue their Bitcoin on-ramp services, their custody partner has to interact with banking services governed by FinCEN regulations.

Especially, I do not expect people can be complaining about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general that they are causing global warming.

Mixers are seen to be used for illegal activities but the money in banks are not seeing to be used for money laundering and terrorism financing. Among the most fiats used for illegal activities, only little do the government and regulators know about. If there is no bitcoin or other coins and tokens, there will be illegal activities both online and offline and their scam fiat will be used for it.

Gold is a store of value, but this will not make me invest in gold.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5473902.msg63150189#msg63150189

It is better to invest in bitcoin.

I can invest real estate but I have little amount of money which will not make me not to do it. I prefer bitcoin.
927  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Client Executives Kidnapped, Forced to Empty Crypto Wallets on: November 14, 2023, 11:31:08 AM
Thanks, changed it now. was not sure where it fitted the best since the action is some way of robbery and BTC is just the currency.
I have said before, it is not about bitcoin but about altcoin which is USDT on Tron blockchain. We would not like it in altcoin discussion but instead in beginners & help board and beginners & help can help newbies to understand more about this and why they need to leave a private crypto life

We really need cyber security and privacy board.
928  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance Client Executives Kidnapped, Forced to Empty Crypto Wallets on: November 14, 2023, 11:00:09 AM
First of all, your topic is in the wrong place, it should be in Bitcoin Discussion.
The stolen fund is not in bitcoin but altcoins which is USDT on Tron blockchain.

Herevealed that all the funds were taken in tether (USDT) and transferred to a Tron wallet. According to CZ, Binance managed to freeze about $11.8 million, or 94.4%, of the $12.5 million stolen.

Beginners & help will be a better board for it.

Also, technically anyone who uses the Binance exchange is a client, so I imagine a lot of people who happen to use Binance had been extorted & robbed over the platform's lifetime too.

But kidnappings? That only happens quite rarely.
It is becoming common because people are not leaving a private life. I mean a privacy life for their crypto holdings.

929  Economy / Reputation / Re: WARNING: Telegram Impersonation Attempt on: November 14, 2023, 10:51:26 AM
People are just stupid at times if they are scammed this way. Anyone that want to contact you on telegram or any other social place or media should first make sure that he talks with you here on this forum. It is you that supposed to tell them here to contact you on other social places. Even also here, if it is something related to business and money, something like signing a message with bitcoin old address on this forum should first be used to know that you are dealing with the real person and not a compromised account.
930  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your parent disinherit you eventhough you have not proven to be chronic gambler on: November 13, 2023, 06:11:31 PM
Here in our country, you cannot disinherit your heirs as long as the heir does not violate what's stated in the law about inheritance and they just used the quoted message as their ground.
The wealth of you parent are not owned by the government or the court. So why taken such to court? The parent of the person have the final say. What I can just say is that a child should not be doing what can let his parent to disinherit him or her.

But if someone's parent so something like this when the person have not be seen as a gambling addict, it is somehow harsh. But we may not see what has really actually happened.
931  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gold vs Btc on: November 13, 2023, 11:50:13 AM
I couldn't believe this is true until I checked it myself.

Form that chart, gold was around $1900 in 2011 forth quarter. Gold price as of today is $1961.

It is better to buy bitcoin instead of gold.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting strategies on: November 13, 2023, 11:28:43 AM
Usually I will place a bet to strong/popular club or had many times win via comeback in the second half with a condition the opponent is leading in the first half, this surely make the the strong/popular club is a heavy underdog.
There are matches like that, the strong team that was losing before would still win after the other team was winning before. I have seen many matches that the strong team will still be losing after 95th minutes to the end of the match but later won the match. The odd for this kind matches are very high, but I can not go for something like that because of the high risk. The risk is higher than to go for such match, not worth it.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do you want to play on casinos without KYC requirements? on: November 13, 2023, 11:24:55 AM
5. KYC requirements can be used to restore accounts after it has been hacked. (Using the documents that were used by the original owner)
Use 2FA with the email and no hacker will be able to hack the email. Gambling sites do it in a way it is not that easy to change your email.

it's a hassle and I want to gamble anonymously as much as possible, I know the risk that I am taking by not doing any KYC and I accept those risks. I will only do KYC if I really need to do it, but if there is no need to do KYC I don't see the point of doing it. just to be clear, what I wrote is my preference and opinion and I don't recommend it to anyone. if you feel like doing the KYC would further secure your gambling, then go do it.
KYC do not add to the security. If some gamblers think that it adds to the security, they are not getting it right.

If a no KYC casino is legit, they are worth going for.

935  Economy / Economics / Re: Foreign reserves on: November 12, 2023, 11:07:37 AM
As for the question, Foreign reserves are the assets in the care of the central banks of a country and they could be bonds, deposits/banknotes and other securities backed by the government and contractual agreements. In your case, the deposit is part of it, but mind you, the reserves are often used to back liabilities as well. Just because you deposited $1000 doesn't mean that a liability of $5000 will not happen on the same day. So, as you deposit your foreign currency, the bank merely owes you that amount but that doesn't mean that particular deposit wouldn't be spent as the foreign reserves continue to find the concluding summation between the country's assets and liabilities. And if citizens do not spend from the reserve, the government might.

In case all of the citizens didn't spend FX but deposited, the government would still sustain their foreign obligations. But in this case, if the government earns more FX on their own, then it won't depend on citizens' FX savings and the foreign reserves will not be affected but increase. In case both the government and citizens decide not to spend their foreign reserves but add to it, of course, it will continue to grow.
What I am saying is that if central bank reserve is not mentioned, are citizens money in domiciliary account counts to be part of the foreign reserves in the country?
936  Economy / Economics / Foreign reserves on: November 12, 2023, 09:48:48 AM
Foreign reserves are the foreign currencies reserved by the government of a nation. If the reserve is decreasing, the central bank increase the price of their local currency leading to inflation. A positivity in the value of the foreign reserves indicates good economy.

I just want to ask a question. Assuming people are buying the foreign currencies and hold it in their domiciliary account and not used in another country for buying of goods to be imported, is the foreign reserves decreasing like that? I mean if the foreign currencies is bought by the citizens of a country and hold in their bank account, and not used to buy from another country.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can a gambler be a good bitcoin trader? on: November 12, 2023, 09:15:00 AM
What do you mean by "Bitcoin trader"? The traders on the crypto markets don't trade Bitcoins only. They trade altcoins as well.
This comment is not necessary at all. If you like you can refer them to as crypto trader or you can refer to it as bitcoin trader. It is easy to under what the OP is talking about.

A good gambler can become a good crypto trader. A bad gambler will always be a bad crypto trader. I don't know about a bad gambler becoming a good trader. This simply cannot happen in the real world.
Are you saying that someone that is losing in gambling can not later decided to learn bitcoin trading and become a good bitcoin trader? Anything can happen in this world. A bad gambler can learn about trading and become good and leave gambling. Likewise a trader may leave trading and only prefer to gamble.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you use bitcoin when gambling? on: November 12, 2023, 09:10:43 AM
I used to enjoy gambling with Bitcoin but the transaction fees have become too expensive, and the processing times are too long. It can be frustrating when we don't have enough time to wait, and the amount of Bitcoin we transfer is not significant enough to justify the cost. So Im currently using fiat money since it's faster than bitcoin.
If the mempool is becoming more congested and the fee to get your transaction confirmed is too expensive for you to pay, you can still use free accelerator like ViaBTC which I know to be the only free accelerator that is existing as of now. You can read about it and know the rules required to get your transaction accelerated.

939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: November 11, 2023, 11:12:57 AM
Lmao, this won’t do shit. Do you think those who gamble excessively don’t know or during their session don’t think about the stress they went through just to get the money they’re using to gamble? They clearly do and would still gamble just to satisfy their urge.
You are not wrong, it won't do a thing at all. Anyone that is gambling and spending too much money, the person needs to start by knowing gambling to make money should be avoided, but instead should gamble to have fun.

If you had said something about them reducing their bankroll I would have agreed with it but the idea of placing a money not on the front of their screen to remind them that they are beginning to cross the line I don’t think it will work.
There is nothing better than having a budget for gambling and it should be of little amount of money. But a gambler should discipline himself for not to use high amount of money to gamble.
940  Economy / Economics / Re: Being rich = not looking at price tag on: November 10, 2023, 10:45:05 AM
If you are rich and you are new to a place, you will want to know the price of what they are selling. But if you are not new to a supermarket or shopping mall, you may not ask for the price of what they are selling. Some people buy some goods and if the estimated price is not too much, they will pay. It is just true that poor and average cares more to know about the price of what they are buying than the rich people that just go for total price of what they bought.
