921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: June 21, 2023, 09:54:31 PM

I said it earlier today that if Serie A teams have the financial power that premier league teams have then the serie A will be the best league in the world without any rival. There are so many big teams in the Serie A. Right now, you can't pick a one or two teams that will be the winner of Serie A next season. There is very serious competition in the league. They need money in that league. In today's football without money you can't really do much. Italian teams got to every final of all the European competition this season. Even if they didn't win any, it's something they can build on and try to get better so they can dominate European football

I agree with you on the fact that there is serious competition going on in the Italian league. The games being played in the Serie A are really fast and strong paced. And if they’ve got the same or nearly the same amount of money that’s being spent by premier league clubs, then I also think Serie A might just be the best and most interesting league(not that it’s not interesting as it is now) in the world.
The players playing in the league are really motivated enough as this is shown in most European competitions. The league has the talent and the players. They now just need some more money pumped into it.

The latest news that has broken the speculation about Gundogan's future, Gundogan has now signed a two-year contract with Barcelona and the agreement between the two parties has been completed. With Barcelona officially withdrawing Gundogan, it means that the strength of the attack line is getting sharper, of course, Gundogan is experienced and can provide guidance to young players. Moreover, Barcelona's position is the same as Manchester City which managed to lead the top of the standings in La Liga. Gundogan will surely be Busquets' replacement captain and Xavi is far more in control of the situation. Gundogan's presence is quite important and does not rule out the possibility that next season Barcelona will still have the potential to win the La Liga trophy.
What do you think about Barcelona's performance in the future?

source : https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1671558716594745345

Well, this move by Gundogan to leave Manchester City and just after winning the Champions League trophy is quite surprising. I suspected his time at Manchester City was likely coming to an end after playing foot so long at the club. I never did expect him to go over to Barcelona.
Gundogan has a lot of potential as well as experience to impact on the other players. I think the future of Barcelona is still secured and they very well  still have what it takes to retain the title of the La Liga trophy next season.
923  Economy / Exchanges / Re: When scammers lacks crypto updates on: June 21, 2023, 09:31:32 PM
I think the first major red flag was when the help who helped you out, and later wrote you chatting you up about crypto stuff. Why would a person who supposedly is there to answer questions about things you don’t fully understand later chat you up. That’s the red flag there. She wanted to use the fact that she Initially helped you out   Perhaps she was riding on the fact that she would gain your trust after helping you out and then pulling the rug out from under you.
I think this is a very good way of showing how doing your own research helps a lot.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: June 20, 2023, 04:20:23 PM
It's normal to blame others when you lose, especially if you play with your friends. You will do it jokingly because you know that gambling is just fun. But it could be that some friends will be guilty because they invite you to play gambling.

I wouldn’t say it’s normal to blame others when you lose cause it’s actually not normal.
I can understand perfectly that when playing amongst friends, we tend to jokingly blame others for our losses. We can only do this when playing amongst friends cause everyone involved would know it’s a joke and not to take it serious. But when playing and losing against people who aren’t friends, you wouldn’t go all out and blame them for your losses. Unless of course, a gun was pointed to your head and you were being forced to play.
Even though we’re invited to play a game or two and we ended up losing out, the fault is entirely ours and no one else.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: June 20, 2023, 08:28:22 AM

Firmino hasn't been playing at Liverpool recently as we all know, so there is no reason to keep him, dude could leave and he could find himself a starting position somewhere else, he is good enough to be the forward of many clubs and this is why they let him go, he deserves to play, he is not deserving of a bench role, hence he should be let go to find a place he can play.

I agree with you on this. Firmino is actually a very talented player and would be good enough to fill in the roles of the forward in a lot of clubs. He does deserve to play and I bet he’s not having enough playing time as he would have loved to have in Liverpool.
The more he remains on the bench, the less we all see of him. If he doesn’t get the playing time he deserves, he should leave to somewhere else where he could play and be seen. Out of sight is out of mind, they say.

I still think Firmino does a pretty good job at Liverpool and his presence during gameplay makes an impact in the team. I do think he plays well at Liverpool and deserves some more playing time.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do gambling addicts bother about the consequences of their actions? on: June 20, 2023, 07:12:53 AM
A question that bothers me concerning this issue is;
1. Do gambling addicts ever take a second thought on what the consequences of their actions can be not just to them but on those close to them?
2. Do they in reality genuinely feel any remorse about  how those affected by their actions might be feeling?
3. Or, are they a dispassionate victim of their own uncontrollable addictive gambling lifestyle?

I think an individual going through an addiction and wants to drop the habit to better himself needs all the love and support he can get. It’s not an easy task for someone with an addiction to drop it. It’s extremely difficult. I know that for a fact. Regarding your questions, this is what I think..

1. I think some addicts do think their actions through and the repercussions that could come later on that would hurt and affect himself and others around him. But in most cases, the addiction usually would prevail; damn the consequences.

2. Yes, I think some may actually feel remorse and ashamed of how their actions may have negatively affected themselves and their family but that feeling of guilt and shame does not last long and would quickly evaporate when hearing out to gamble again.

3. I think a whole lot could be said to be victims of their own habit that has spiraled out of their control. And that’s why I mentioned that an individual going through an addiction and has made up his mind to stop should be supported and loved.
Mistakes could likely happen and the person may fall back into the habit. Support, love and encouragement from family and people around him would go a long way in the fight towards dropping the addiction.
927  Economy / Economics / Re: Methods to cut food costs on: June 20, 2023, 06:18:25 AM
Actually it would depend if you live alone or if you're with your family.
If you live alone you should find a canteen that serves fresh cook meals and cheap because if you would cook for yourself the portion would be to much.
But if you live with your family buying ingredients in the market and cooking it yourself would be the most efficient way to save money on food.
Vouchers and coupon would only works on those who live alone and couldn't find a canteen.

Buying in bulk and cooking your own food is cheaper and more convenient. It’s also healthier. Supposing the canteen where you normally eat cheap fresh cooked meals suddenly doesn’t open for the day or the week, you’re going to have to go hungry or go on a new journey looking for another canteen that suits your tastes and needs.

If you’re single and have to cook for yourself, Have you thought of cooking a small portion? Just enough for yourself. A better option is to get a good place where you could store perishable food items. I heard a freezer does a good job of keeping food items frozen and ready for whenever you would need them.
But you could always do whatever works for you.
928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbies Stop Teaching When You Need To Learn. on: June 16, 2023, 05:12:01 PM
Indeed, you can’t teach what you don’t know. And I quite agree with you. In a bid to gain some attention or perhaps some other bizarre reason, people with freshly created account tend to try and educate other members on topics that they’re ignorant about.
I’ve come across some really interesting posts that has no relevance whatsoever as some are even incomprehensible to begin with.

If a newbie/anyone who really wants to learn, then they should read threads on here and ask questions on whatever isn’t fully understood.
People, who in a bid to show off and tell the world about how really smart and intelligent they are end up showing off their ignorance and low intellect.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 16, 2023, 02:31:13 PM
I think it is not that much difficult given how Guardiola has managed City ever since he took over as manager. He has made then PL champions 5 times out of 7 seasons and that really shows the kind of spectacular record Guardiola hold rights now. I think in 8-9 seasons he can make them equal to United if things goes like this. City are in control in whichever way you see and despite United and Newcastle improving, I don't see them getting dominant the way City are right now. I would say its very much achievable if Guardiola says for long term.

I think Manchester City could perform as good as they did in the just concluded season and perhaps, go ahead to win the premier league title again next season. Pep has really done a lot to change the fortunes of the club and I believe that if he remains with the club, he could go ahead to win more premier league trophies as well as other trophies.
Thanks to Pep, I see Manchester City as a disciplined club that would remain dominant in their games come next season. I know It’s a bit still early to tell but Manchester City has a really good chance of retaining their title again next season.

Many new members have good potential compared to members with higher ranks. We are here talking about knowledge not about how high their rank is. there are many legendary accounts but only a few have good potential and can truly be role models. New members can even have a mindset that can build this forum, can interact in all ways and even contribute well. Members like that deserve to be appreciated.

A profile with a newbie rank on the forum may not necessarily be a newbie to bitcoin and the crypto community. But it’s a good thing some newbies who are really knowledgeable about stuff and knows their onions are distinguished and would easily stand out from the whole lot of newbie profiles on here.

Also, I agree with your point on some legendary members being worse off than lower ranking members. Asides all that, I think we could all learn new tits bits of information even from the lowest ranking member who most people would assume are actually newbies and not knowledgeable about certain things.
931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin gift to wife on wedding. on: June 15, 2023, 11:59:47 PM

Women are very emotional, will she be able to cope with the market volatility? Another question is that will she be able to handle losses and did she understand what bitcoin is all about? I assume you know that women want show off, they will tell their friends the surprises they had from their husband, they also like show off and want to make her friends,

Why do you think women can’t cope with the market volatility. And I think men are as emotional as women but are better at hiding their emotions so as not to be classified as weak or soft.
I see no reason why the OP can’t gift the wife some bitcoin as a gift. If she properly understands what bitcoin entails and how volatile it is, she won’t be surprised that her $10k has reduced overnight.
There are lots of women who are also bitcoin holders and can handle the price fluctuations as well.
932  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: If you need some menthor come to me on: June 15, 2023, 11:46:00 PM
OP, you’ve got nothing but your words to prove that you’re a trader/investor or whatever you claim to be and honestly, your words doesn’t count for much. As for your offer for anyone interested to come to you for advice and mentorship, it’s almost funny. I bet you would ask for a token or a small fee for you to share your wisdom on how best to trade and invest to make unbelievable profits.

Besides, I don’t think an actual mentor goes about looking for disciples to come under his tutelage. People seek out a mentor and not mentors going about seeking out people.

I was surprise to see Newcastle perform very well in the  season that just ended, I wasn’t expecting them to end the season in the position which they ended it, let’s just see how their performance will be in next season, because am sure next season will be more competitive than the season that just ended, so every club have to be prepared. I know that money is not Newcastle’s problem, they should try and get more experienced player’s before the season will start, because next season might not be as easy as the just concluded season, and am sure Newcastle will also want to end next season at a better position than when they ended the just completed season.

Money could be very motivating for players. With the money Newcastle has at their disposal, they could get whatever they would need and also new and better players. I too was surprised to see them play so well, finishing amongst the top 4 in the league table.

Next season, I think they would strive to perform more better than they did. Next season would be more competitive so i concur with the idea that they should try and get some experienced and capable players. The coach knows his onions and hopefully he would be prep his squad to be ready to compete in the next season as well as the champions league
934  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: June 15, 2023, 09:09:34 PM
Investing with land is only possible when you have enough land. If you don't have land, can you or I invest? You have 100 acres of land and you are not doing anything there. You can sell half of the land and invest in bitcoins. But of course you have to be patient.  Must be. If you want to invest immediately and get profit then it is not possible. You must be patient. After investing in Bitcoin you may have to wait for some time. May be 2 months or 1 year. You don't have to have land and it must have price.Yes. If you can sell the land at a good price then invest in Bitcoin and keep some money in the bank to get a profit every month.

There are lots of things you could do with 100 acres of land that would give you profits in the short and long run than selling half(50 acres) to invest in bitcoin. Did you think about the possibility of losing about half of the money due to the volatility of bitcoin? You seem to believe investing in bitcoin has a 100% of bringing in profits in the long run. Bitcoin as well as other “sure” investments also has risks involved and may not be able to bring in the desired profits.
There are lots of other things you could do with land aside investing in bitcoin. 100 acres is a lot of property. You could always lease a little part of it if you’re not willing to sell.
It’s always good to diversify on your income. Investing just in bitcoin isn’t ideal.
935  Economy / Economics / Re: The cost of living is trying to kill the living on: June 14, 2023, 11:57:04 PM
And you know what's infuriating? The government and its agencies seem to be doing nothing or next to nothing to control the skyrocketing costs. It's wreaking havoc on so many lives, and the situation keeps getting worse day by day.

The government and its agencies seem not to be doing anything to bring under control the skyrocketing prices of goods and services cause they’re probably not doing anything about it. Obviously, it’s getting worse and putting a lot of pressure and strain on middle to lower income households.

You can’t wait for the government to help alleviate your sufferings cause help would come(if it does), when it’s too late. You would have to take the reins yourself and determine your own future. Get another job or learn a skill where you could earn some more money so you wouldn’t feel the inflation bite that much.
936  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 14, 2023, 05:49:51 PM

I hope this will come true. The oil money is coming for united.

I too hope this would come true. If it does come through, then I see better days ahead for Manchester United. Manchester United is a strong club as it is with equally strong and talented players.
But if this deal goes through, Manchester United could actually bid and try to get any star player they want and think would make a difference in the squad.

This would bolster the what I think is an already strong club and hopefully bring the club back to its winning ways. Hopefully, funds will not be a limitation for acquiring whatever and whoever they would want.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2022/2023 on: June 14, 2023, 02:51:43 AM

If Newcastle wants to be able to compete in the UCL league, they have to bring in several star players. With a squad like now it's difficult to compete. They will take part in a lot of competition next season. Hopefully British representatives like Newcastle can give a decent fight next season.

Obviously, if Newcastle wants to compete in the Premier League as well as the champions league, they would need to bring in several players and not necessarily star players. They would just need capable players that are able to replace the first team players whenever needed.

I’m pretty sure Newcastle would be thrilled to play in the very competitive champions league and I bet they would go all out to make the proper adjustments to the squad. I believe they know they would be up against other top clubs from other leagues and hopefully would be prepared for it.
938  Economy / Economics / Re: Landed properties is the best investment on: June 13, 2023, 09:55:10 AM
While real estate could be a profitable venture to invest in, I wouldn’t flat out proclaim it to be the best. The value of land overtime appreciates but that doesn’t mean it’s as easy as it would sound. Real estate, like other investments has its downside and risks attached.

If you can’t manage the property along with proper and constant maintenance, the value of that property would plummet and there won’t be any money coming in from the property. The location of the property would also matter. I think your claim that land never depreciates could be argued.
Also, I don’t think real estate is mostly controlled the rich and wealthy as there are lots of middle to upper class folks who’ve got real estate investments.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 12, 2023, 12:19:53 AM
This is the greatness of the Man City squad this season, even though Kevin De Bruyne is injured and must be replaced. but that's Manchester City, there is no shortage of substitutes with the same ability, they played consistently to lock in victory until the end of the game.

Manchester City doesn’t wholly depend on the abilities of a single player and that’s why De Bruyne could be missing in an important game like the Champions League finals and the game is still won by them. There are very competent players amongst the substitutes that could replace the starting eleven any time. That’s truly the greatness of Manchester City.

Despite having a hard time in the quest for goals in the finals against Inter Milan, they were consistent and confident in their attacks. And with the way Inter Milan played, the game could have gone either way. But congratulations to Man City on their well deserved win.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2022/23 Season on: June 11, 2023, 09:12:17 PM
Man City could not find their game in the first half. But for the last 20 minutes of the second half, they played magnificently. Inter were beginning to tire by this time. And Manchester City found their game.
Everyone understands that Inter were unlucky in this game. But Man City were also unlucky when De Bruyne was replaced due to injury. Who knows, if he hadn't been injured, City would have scored more goals.

Perhaps, the game might have gone a different way for Manchester City if De Bruyne didn’t go off during the first half of the game. He’s a very talented player and he would have made a difference if not much. Apparently, they didn’t need him as they still went on to win the game without him playing.

Inter Milan on the other hand, surprised me with the level of gameplay. I probably had been so focused on the strength and consistent wins of Manchester City to remember that Inter Milan, having obviously reached the finals, are a strong team as well.
I wouldn’t say Manchester City was unlucky cause when De Bruyne was substituted. They still went on to win the game.
