921  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When (if Tenable) is The Right Time to Share Your Bitcoin Private Keys? on: December 26, 2023, 09:37:02 PM
When I received a notification of this topic on the Tryninja notification bot, I had a feeling that this forum must have witnessed a question like this in the past, but for a newbie like me, it's the first time. I have thought of this before, and I think I have put this case in place already.

The day I saw the post of one of our deceased, I thought of making proper arrangements for my life. Even though I'm still very young, I still have to be cautious, though planning for death is more like insane. But we must all acknowledge the fact that we are all going to die some day, even if it's not today.

I have told my closest family member of my little investment that I have somewhere, but I have never told her the exact thing because I don't have enough bitcoin yet, so I don't have to worry myself now, but as soon as I get a hardware wallet, I will have to disclose the private key to her. That's my plan for now, but this might change in the future.
922  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin - Contentment / Addiction on: December 26, 2023, 07:47:57 PM
Humans are not content with what they have, so wanting more is normal, but the question is, how much more will you keep wanting? Is it till eternity? And what do you intend to do with all the accumulation?. As Upgrade00 has said, it's based on personal views. I can want a stash of 50 BTC, and you want a 1k stash. Just as it's said in my home, "Every mallam has his own kettle," it all depends on you, bro.

Calling wanting more addiction doesn't seem proper to me because humans are naturally made to want more. If not all, the billionaires should have stopped making money and enjoyed the ones they already made, so the phrase wanting more is just normal.

I will only suggest that you should hold what you want and be comfortable with.
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have You Accomplished What Brought You to Bitcoin? on: December 26, 2023, 07:23:39 PM
I guess I have answered this question in so many ways.

Well, like I have said before in my other posts, what brought me into Bitcoin was the quest to have a side job and/or earn while studying in college, but I suppose that narrative has changed due to the knowledge I have acquired here in the forum.

At least I'm no longer looking for something to do right now because I'm busy here already and training myself very well on what I know so that I can establish a service here in the forum that can fetch me some little earnings while I'm in college. Although I am still very young, if not the youngest in the forum... Lol  Cool and more goals have been set since I got here, so I'm not sure I have accomplished anything yet.

925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is ordinance (ORDI) a good altcoin to invest? on: December 26, 2023, 01:22:20 PM
Well, with the increase in price, I think it would have been good to invest in it for whatever you can afford to lose just for trying sake if your luck would shine. But if anyone should think of long-term investing now that the price is up to 70ish, then it is on him or her.

Even from the look of things, if the X account is investigated, it will sure fall into the hands of one of those pump and dump groups that create tokens for their selfish reasons. "ORDI token has no utility." This combination of words is my red flag for that project. I think the creators of this token just used a slight opportunity to attach it to Bitcoin in order to get hype. Well, it's bull season approaching so fast that everyone should be aware of new developments like this taking place.

Whatever we choose to do with this token, we should be very careful, that's all.
926  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Does being in the opposition even solve the problem of the country by 1% on: December 25, 2023, 04:59:03 PM
In my opinion, he isn't trying to be relevant but just wants to keep his passion active until he gets another chance.

Politics in Nigeria is very different from the majority views; games are played for the people to see the leadership active, while shadow parties are the main events. Don't get me wrong. Mr. peter Obi probably forgot one thing, which is that to be part of the system, you have to get your hands dirty. You have to be in the mist of your opponent to defeat them. I guess that's what he's trying to do now.

The role he should have played was to join them from the beginning. instead of it looking like the famous quote that says, ""If you can't beat them, join them." Now he's going to look like a rebel to his supporters, but for someone like me, I know he's doing his best for us and himself.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Post Your Favorite Altcoin Post of 2023! on: December 25, 2023, 02:02:30 PM
This thread Time to be cautious: Everyone is not market expert by Kontrolla has the best part of me this year; on the 6th night of December 2023, I was watching some YouTube videos, and because I have been searching for crypto-related videos, YouTube usually suggests new ones. Hence, these videos are all advertisements for altcoins (shitcoins) that are very attractive, and I was convinced to start looking for these shitcoins to invest in, but the next day I was going through this section to see if those shitcoins were talked about here, but most of these coins were scams, pump and dump group coins.

So after reading the title of the above thread, I went ahead to read the content, and it was just a warning to me, which saved me from getting myself into shit. I really appreciate the author; it's worth it. Thanks to Kontrolla, he just saved my ass unknowingly.

I have just visited it again and I see you have merited him too... Thanks to you too tk808.

-Much love-
928  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Could newbie ask their unsolved crypto related questions ? on: December 25, 2023, 11:47:18 AM
The word FOMO means Fear Of Missing Out:  The feeling when you see a huge green dildo on a chart and you don’t own that coin, so you sell other shit to buy into it freaking out. As crypto trading is still very much driven by emotions rather than valuation, FOMO is a huge factor to consider when swing trading in crypto.

I know it sucks try to understand the forum from reading those suggested topics everyday, I have been going through such stress too but the truth is there is no way apart from that. I will still suggest you read the following threads to have more knowledge of forum terminologies

929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Innovation in online gambling on: December 24, 2023, 11:45:41 PM
So what has been your experiences with gambling recently? Have you seen any games that impressed you?
For me personally I really liked the provably fair blackjack at Stake. I wish there would be more single player card games that are also provably fair.
Well, I have been seeing some new games around my favorite online casino, SportyBet, but I haven't really clicked on any of them because, even from the graphics or look of the images, they are not interesting to me. Maybe that is because I have been enjoying a few games lately. Aviator, Plunko, and I can't really remember the last one, but it was about bottle crashing or something, but I did enjoy it too. I have been gambling on BC games too, but not as frequently as SportyBet.

there's also "The Aviator" but obviously, it's still a crash game but becomes popular due to the addition of the plane.
Yes, this aviator has become more popular recently, and I have been on it for a long time. Its popularity in my school environment is what amazes me. Almost all the boys in the hostel play this game every day, and it is so fun that we don't even know if we are gambling or not, but we just keep playing.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is there so much interest in popular cryptocurrencies? on: December 24, 2023, 11:09:24 PM
After reading through the content of this post, I kind of wonder if this is an advertisement or a normal post that seeks people's attention to know more.
I don't know if it sounds rude, but I will like to ask if you're part of the Cogitex project or if you're being paid to bring people's attention to the project because it's obvious that it's an advertisement.

BTW, let's say people like to be sure of what they are dealing with rather than just jump into a new project. More like, if you want to buy a product of any kind and you know one that has been working and has never had many issues, would you go for a new one that you're not sure of, or would you just buy the one everyone knows? The same is applicable here with cryptocurrencies. People will always rather buy Bitcoin or any other already-standing crypto than gamble with new ones that might be too shitty.
931  Economy / Economics / Re: Will they ever be able to afford a house? on: December 24, 2023, 04:52:32 PM
So I looked at the sheet, and I saw that the 1980s are better than the 2023s, but I would say the data isn't correct because it seems to be one-sided. Only the disadvantages of the 2023s are in the data, and so too are the advantages of the 1980s.

I will advise you to balance the sheet first.

Mind you, there is a lot of sense in what you're trying to do. Rephrase it, balance the sheet, and let's see what the results are.
932  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: You only got what you deserve on: December 24, 2023, 04:22:15 PM
If anyone gambles with their money on any shitcoin, it's on them to take responsibility for their action, but your assumption that in the crypto space, what you get is what you deserve is absolutely wrong. Yes, I said so. So does anyone deserve to lose? Does anyone deserve to gain? It all depends on the circumstances. You can lose in Bitcoin too; it's volatile in nature; it goes either way, so don't exaggerate holdings of bitcoin as the only way to profit.

Assuming I bought an alt like SOL at $1 and now it's $100 plus on the coin market cap, does that mean I also deserve to lose because I didn't buy Bitcoin? So look at things critically, both negatively and positively, before you conclude.

I'm not disputing the fact that DCAing into Bitcoin is good, but let's not overexaggerate things.
933  Other / Off-topic / Re: Good manners and good favour. on: December 24, 2023, 02:24:49 PM
I must say you have a good point here. I don't criticize the little efforts of my fellow beginners, as I see others undermining the fact that they are also newbies, using hash words on people, responding to corrections with bad manners, etc.

One thing I know is that the way you're in reality influences everything about you; hence, it will always show both in the forum and elsewhere. Some people are just rude, naturally, or bad-mannered, if I must say, and this causes a lot of issues (bad reputation) for them. Some are angry people in real life; therefore, they pass this anger on to this forum, attacking everybody for no useful reason.

If you must succeed here, you just have to be real with yourself and stop trying to impress people who are already past your level. If you do your best, the best will come to you. Be yourself and move on; don't depend on people meriting you before you make progress. The quantity of your merit isn't success; it just shows that you did something that was worthy of celebration and warranted your merit.

If I must put something in order, it should be the word favor. I guess in the manner in which you frame the content, it means merit, but favor isn't just merit; there is more to that than merit. For example, if I'm an amateur graphics designer and maybe I have a good reputation here in this forum, someone can just hit me up and hand me a project to do just to test me. If I can deliver, then I'm already favored because if a legendary member or so gives trust and feedback, people will surely start handing their own projects to you; hence, this is also a favor.

There are lots of things we will discuss here, but as time goes on.
934  Other / Off-topic / Re: Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming on: December 24, 2023, 01:33:21 PM
I'm not a fan of GAMES, but I will definitely try it this time. I heard my hood discussing the new Mad Max: GTA 6, but I didn't give much attention to it because I don't usually understand the game. Though it's not hard to understand, it's a matter of interest.

Let's see how the graphics go this time. Y'all go enjoy the game. I'm behind you... 💯

Not into games, but this one looks sick. They say the graphics are improved as much as they were from GTA V to Red Dead Redemption 2. Definitely going to try it out.
I guess we have something in common here .. lol  Cool
935  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you take water intake seriously? on: December 24, 2023, 01:08:53 PM
I got a nurse at home that reminded us all that we needed water, but I bet I met up to 60% daily because, from my notice, I sometimes take up to 10 sachets of water daily.

If you try to calculate how much water you consume daily, you might end up not even drinking enough, but if you just free up your mind and keep drinking water even when you are not dehydrated, you can meet up with the required quantity.

I remember someone on my formal street where we lived who took even more than the required quantity of water. This man takes water everywhere he goes; every now and then he's taking water, and his testimony is that in a year he treats himself only because of the environment, malaria, and other minor illnesses. Apart from that, he doesn't get sick, and that motivates me too.
936  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Everything has changed on: December 24, 2023, 07:57:21 AM
Life is just revolving, in my opinion; it has been the same ever since, but the changes we see are a result of the greed in humans that leads to this feeling. People just care about themselves now; back in the primitive society, life was just easy peasy; everybody cared about everybody, but now nobody gives a fuck about you. It was just heartbreaking. I understand your feelings, bro.

Social media and other things have changed people's behavior, putting pressure on them to achieve what others have achieved, forgetting that everyone has their own race to run. Anyway, just take life easy and enjoy the little things, because you might turn around and find out that the little things are actually the big things.
937  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Poverty change people on: December 24, 2023, 07:36:59 AM
Many things contribute to the changes in people; poverty is no new thing that can change both the physical and mental health of a person. It can hinder one's growth and paralyze their thinking ability. Instead of finding a way to succeed, one can turn out to be a lout on the streets.

I guess your friends were still unfortunate to be in such a condition, but they can still make a better life from the bitcoin you introduced them to, but it has to be in a direction that they need right now. because you need to give a hungry man the fish first before you can now show him or her the river to catch his fish; thereby, energy is needed for him to start his own life.

The story line from @Hispo got me emotional. Life happens to everyone, and I pray it doesn't hit you in a bad way. If his friend could leave a note for him, that means he needs help immediately. I hope he gets help.
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Zugacoin vs bitcoin. on: December 24, 2023, 06:46:56 AM
I have probably never heard of it before; hence, comparing the original product with a sub-product is quite ridiculous. Though the price of the so-called Zugacoin might have overshadowed the price of Bitcoin then, it's still not the original coin itself.

I did a lookup for the so-called zugacoin and found out that it was even centralized. For a coin to even maintain any progress, it must be decentralized, and another thing I found out was that this zugacoin was just a token on the ERC-20 chain; it had no blockchain of its own, nothing comparable to Bitcoin and hence was even programmed by one person. Lol..

It's in fact not worthy of mentioning its name, somewhere close to Bitcoin. It was just a personal project and one of the major pump and dump shitcoins.

939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tips for fast investment growth on: December 24, 2023, 06:19:16 AM
I think what you need is a paraphrase of this post because it's quite obvious that you're flashing on buying cheap coins now and waiting till they grow. or go to the market and look at listed cheap coins with speculation of growth and gamble with your money. Hence, it's a matter of whether you profit or lose, because surely you are getting involved with shit.

Even if one looks at the white paper of a token or coin, it doesn't change anything; rather, it gives you a little hope because there are millions of pump-and-dump shitcoins that have a very good and promising white paper yet still crash and fail to raise again.

Obviously, AmoreJaz gave a better tip for investment here, but it holds the same thing as I said earlier: gambling rather than investment because no future is guaranteed.
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA LIFT THE BAN ON CRYPTOCURRENCY IN NIGERIA on: December 23, 2023, 10:45:09 PM

It's good news that the ban has been lifted, but there is more to that than just a lift. Though this is a new government and crypto-related transactions were banned by the old government, I think the new government might see an opportunity in Bitcoin and cryptocurrency at large.

We are yet to know the real reason behind this decision; hopefully it doesn't get bad because it's just a mere statement that can be altered in no time.
I see people saying things about taxation, but I'm not worried about it because Bitcoin can be used with or without anybody's permission, so there is a way out of the taxation that they are anticipating.
