921  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Did Bitcoin Bring a Smile to Your Face? How Did You Make It Happen? on: August 06, 2023, 08:54:58 PM
It has been quite interesting going through the comments under this thread post, Can we say in conclusion it is a very bad idea stopping our monthly paid job for Bitcoin trading or Holding?
Because of the risk involved in bitcoin trading, I do not believe it is a wise decision to stop our monthly paid job for bitcoin trading or holding; however, holding bitcoin is a good thing to do; yet, if we decide to leave our job to hold bitcoin, we will not have some money to use on daily expenses. We can save some of our monthly earnings to buy bitcoin and use the rest to cover our fundamental necessities.

924  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Terrorism in Africa on: August 06, 2023, 08:01:13 PM

And when those politicians finally win the election and get to office,  is either they forget those thugs and left the guns for them and to fund their illegal activities start to use those guns bought by the politicians to commit other crimes such as armed robbery,  kidnapping and terrorisms,  so the leaders who are the corrupt politicians are the root cause of most of the insecurities in the African continent.
What typically occurs is that the opposition, rather than cooperating with the winning party to advance the interests of the nation after the politicians who employed the thugs win their elections and likely desert them, will be using those thugs to attack that administration through acts of terrorism, banditry, and kidnapping, which is wrong.

Politicians, especially those from Africa, can do anything to win an election, but once they do, they ignore some of the people who helped them win and concentrate on their own selfish goals, which often involve getting back the money they spent before considering employment.
925  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you rather start/grow a business from scratch or buy an existing business? on: August 05, 2023, 09:00:46 PM
I don't really have much to say as regards to this post. It is just an avenue to hear your thoughts on which is better to invest both time, energy and resources in, mostly for a season as this, where we are experiencing economic uncertainty and ill-timed government banking policies.

So, given that the resources are available or not and you are presented with the opportunity to start/grow or buy an existing business just like Elon Musk, which option is more preferential and benefitial to you?

I believe it is dependent on the sort of business and the condition and state of the business at which you are prepared to acquire it, since occasionally you might get the opportunity to buy an operating firm or business because they went bankrupt and can't hang on to it anymore, which is a wonderful deal. Otherwise, I'd rather create my own business.
926  Economy / Economics / Re: Reason why you will never become rich on: August 05, 2023, 08:45:12 PM
Because I think 97% of success is determined by mindset, so we need to change our mindset. There are to me five reasons most people never get rich.
1. Not believing life can change.
2. Have no plans to get rich.
3. Good at making excuses.
4. Don't know financial management.
5. Have no purpose in life.

But for success, it's not just that we have a lot of money but success is when we can make other people have hope and when we already have a lot of money and can raise the hopes of many other people.
If you don't put in the effort to learn new things, put in some hard work, and have the belief that you can succeed in life, having the intention of succeeding won't make you successful.

If you are unable to take risks, no matter how much you believe in your plans to get wealthy, they will never materialize. In my experience, the bigger the risk taken, the greater the benefit, and vice versa.
927  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Deciding Between Mining and Direct Investment on: August 05, 2023, 08:57:36 AM
If I buy 10 units of S19 XP, each with a daily production value of $9.8 and a daily electricity cost of $1.44, considering my electricity cost is $0.02 per kWh, my net income per unit would be $8.33 source: (https://www.f2pool.com/miner?id=155037).
Currently, its price is $3145 source: (https://www.asicfinder.com/frontend/hardwares/bitmain-antminer-s19-xp-141t).
Now, BTC is priced at $29,048, which is quite low, and we are all waiting for the bull market to come.
Honestly, I'm not a fan of numbers and calculations, but I'm determined to make the right choice. Should I pursue mining for a steady source of income, or would it be more beneficial to directly purchase coins with an eye on long-term potential?

You can never get the right estimate of setting out the mining plant because you may likely omit some costs which cannot be account for.

I don't know much about bitcoin halving but if I am right, it is a time where miners reward will be divided by halve which maybe is the reason why the price of Bitcoin is going high during halving so that miners can keep their work and maintain the little bitcoin, they mine.

If this is right, then it will be better if you invested these money in Bitcoin and wait for your profit instead of going through the mining stress.
928  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bold step to invest my fiat in Bitcoin on: August 05, 2023, 08:04:35 AM
You may not have gained much money by investing in bitcoins but still you are very happy with a small amount by investing in bitcoins. It is natural to be so happy because when we invest in a platform and when we benefit from that platform investment, our interest in investing increases a lot. You are successful with your first investment in Bitcoin so be sure to be patient before making your next investment, observe the market well and then invest with a larger amount (if you can afford) at the right time to hold for a longer period of time. You can achieve more success. In the first investment you made a profit, in the second investment you may face losses in the beginning but you will not lose patience, if you have enough patience and hold for a long time, you will definitely get something good.
That is the nature of investment in general; risk should always be addressed. Investors appear happy when they invest in their desired project, while bitcoin is a desire for all, some people are willing to invest in bitcoin but have no money to invest in, that reason alone will make someone happy and satisfied with the small profit they have and even plan to invest more if given the opportunity.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If one like decentralization they will surely want Bitcoin? on: August 05, 2023, 07:39:20 AM
I have tried talking to people about Bitcoin but a higher number of them don't show any interest, they have idea what Bitcoin is but they don't see any reason to join the train so I am thinking, to cut short my time and energy, do you think it's better to talk about decentralization first?

Is it right to say that if anyone doesn't like decentralization they can never like Bitcoin?

I am not trying to force anyone into Bitcoin but people never stop asking me how I am making money for myself and most of my income comes from Bitcoin trading, as you can see, I have no choice but to teach about Bitcoin if I feel like helping someone out.
At this moment, it seems like it depends on how you present bitcoin to them. In my opinion, if bitcoin is correctly introduced, almost everyone will want to experience the freedom that it has given us.

Additionally, it is unnecessary to compel anyone who is not interested in bitcoin to board the train; if they choose to do so, that is their choice.

Bitcoin will not be liked by a government that wants to control everything.
930  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Beginners, you don't need Bitcoin first on: August 04, 2023, 09:00:54 PM

Before investing in bitcoin, all of the guiding principles should be taken into account. As you mentioned, the first is financial stability. The second is knowledge, which will prevent you from being taken advantage of during the introduction process. The third is to take security seriously and know how to activate good security measures.  Returning to financial stability, you stated that if you don't have other sources of income, you will use your investment as a repository for an emergency fund, which is bad for business.  and  since investing in bitcoin is a long time business patience is another factor to be considered.
All the principles, financial stability, security measures, and knowledge are good factors to consider;

What about the risk involved?

In my own understanding, I think risk taking is also an important factor to be considered before embarking on a bitcoin investment process because of the techniques behind it, and the market instability.
931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there anyone know how many bitcoins disappear forever? on: August 04, 2023, 08:53:06 PM
Or another question!

Is there a place to collect the lost bitcoins (I mean the private keys is lost, and the bitcoin in that special address stay there forever) Cheesy

However it is interesting for all bitcoiners.

I have 10 lost ,I lost them in 2011.the price in that year is less than $1😄

And you?
According to my understanding, if you lost your private key, your bitcoin is gone forever this because no one can be able to spend the bitcoin in the wallet unless if someone has access to the private key.

Hard luck for your bitcoin lost.
932  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The danger of gender inequality on: August 04, 2023, 05:09:06 PM
Two candidates visited my office two days ago to submit their applications for the position of a health assistant. I had the honor of taking part in the interviews with them. After the interview, the candidate did very well, but the CMD chose to hire the male candidate because of his physical strength and height as the best contender for the position. He didn't even give the female applicant a chance to demonstrate her qualifications. What do you think about this?
You have already stated that both of them performed well in the interview, but the male applicant was granted the opportunity due to his physical strength, which I am sure is part of the physical criterion in addition to qualification.

If the female candidate possesses such abilities, she should have been given the opportunity, based on the circumstances. I don't believe there was any unfairness in this case because you confirmed that the male candidate possessed some qualities that the female applicant lacked.

We have many roles that should be held by men but are being run or controlled by women owing to whatever influence they have in that position, not because men cannot do the job.

I have no too much experience about Bitcoin yet, all I am doing now is to monitor the market, study well in this forum and some recommended articles and books in order to avoid costly mistakes when I am ready or have money to start my Bitcoin journey.

I feel that I am lucky to have this forum as a place to be getting my information and guide about Bitcoin.
934  Other / Off-topic / Re: Some of my Favourite Personal Texts of Bitcointalk Members on: August 04, 2023, 10:43:32 AM
This is a great way for forum users to express themselves, and I wish I could add my own personal text if I wanted to. Others have already included their desired words as personal text, which is great.

Where precisely can I place my own personal text, if I so choose?
Or do I have to reach a certain rank to be given that chance?
935  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are exchanges evading proof of reserves unsafe for users? on: August 03, 2023, 10:04:58 PM
This issue started since the exit of FTX and now we are talking about this again, Binance showed their financial capability and I think that can be a good relief to Binance users and other exchanges also did this. Well, the question is, is this enough to be called a safe exchange? Honestly anything can happen in an instant just look at FTX as an example, it is a top exchange before but look at what happened. If you don’t want to be on trouble and don’t want think about this from time to time, better not to hold big funds on any exchanges.
Since FTX's demise, I've heard some unfavorable things about cryptocurrencies, which prompted me to do some research on them generally because people were portraying them as scams as a result of the market crash. After doing some research, I learned that there are centralized coins and some (few) decentralized coins, but I think Bitcoin is special because it was the first to make people aware of what cryptocurrencies were all about.

Since nobody is excellent and everyone makes mistakes at first, I have stopped trusting exchanges because I believe that any centralized project or exchange could betray its users and lead to the project's demise.
936  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What are crypto currency exchanges doing to foster crypto adoption? on: August 03, 2023, 09:20:49 PM

We can argue that the crypto industry is still relatively new, but what roles are exchanges playing or what are they doing to foster its adoption amidst these various challenges?
Since most individuals learn about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies from different crypto exchanges, crypto exchanges are crucial to the adoption of cryptocurrencies.

But it's crucial to understand that exchanges are only for buying cryptocurrency; we use crypto wallets to store our bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies after purchasing them from exchanges. Some people continue to leave their coins in the exchange wallet, which is incorrect because they will control your money instead of you if you transmit them to your wallet.
937  Economy / Economics / Re: Inflation overpowers the value of money on: August 03, 2023, 08:58:43 PM

The causes of high inflation can be attributed to the following:
1. Excessive Government borrowing
2. Unwanted and unstable domestic policy
3. Unsatisfiable or lack of domestic production

These variables do contribute to an increase in inflation in a country, starting with their currency depreciating against the currency of the nation from which they borrow money or from which they buy products since they must convert it before buying the items they want.

If the government begins to borrow money from other nations, it is a sign that they are losing their moral authority because they are unable to generate enough income to meet their needs. Furthermore, taking on too much debt renders a nation economically helpless because its leaders will be preoccupied with finding ways to repay their debt rather than developing productive ideas, which will ultimately lead to the collapse of the nation and make life difficult for its people.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 02, 2023, 08:56:00 PM
According to some media here, Vlahovic Lukaku can be a deal done before the end of this week.

Lukaku + 35/40m for Vlahovic.
Due to his lack of desire in playing for Inter Milan or Chelsea, Lukaku did not completely respond to all transfer rumors. Despite the lack of attackers in the league, few teams were interested in signing him.

As the campaign to sign Osimhen is not progressing as well as Mbappe, it will be a nice deal for Chelsea.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 02, 2023, 08:46:54 PM

Especially when you consider their two main center backs worth just 2 million dollars combined, you realize that they do not have any defense at all. This can't be good for them, the results will still be not that great if they keep this up.
Al-Nasar management knows what they are doing, that's why they signed those defenders. Sometimes, some players are getting hyped probably because of the team they are coming from, while some because of their performance. Most of these players they bought with huge money are from European teams, that is why they are expensive. These defenders might be good, but their performance should matter more.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Saudi Professional League 2023/2024 on: August 01, 2023, 08:58:08 PM
After Saint-Maximin transfer from Newcastle to Al-Ahli, Fabinho moved to Ettihad club from Liverpool for €46.7m and Sadio Mane joined Al-Nassr coming from Bayern Munich for €30m. Not a big loss for Bayern and a new start for Mane, who will join Cristiano Ronaldo in the attack line!
Saudi league are getting more and more interesting these days Wink
That is how money has an impact.
I've heard that Al-Hilal is putting together a bid for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen; if it succeeds, we may infer that footballers traveling to Saudi Arabia do so in order to make money, as even young, promising players with the ability to dominate the game do so.
