923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to keep safe the mnemonic phrase - Whats Your method? on: September 24, 2023, 09:09:48 PM
Since this has to do with storing your seed phrase physically then I would prefer to write it down and add some code-name in my native language in the beginning and ending of the seed phrase, then keep one of my seed phrase in the house where I stay and the other seed phrase in my village.

But let's say for instance, after keeping the seed phrase there, in those two places, I will still want to have it somewhere so that even if I travel, I should still be able to access my seed phrase. So I think the best way I can do this , is to have it on my Google Drive. But of course it's going to be encrypted and at the same time it will be stored with any of my Bitcoin address or, with the use of some simple alphanumerical characters. I will definitely activate the two step verification on my Google so that I am notified once there's any security breach attempts.
924  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin on banking systems. on: September 24, 2023, 08:35:14 PM
While reading the news, you will discover that Nigeria is one of the top countries adopting Bitcoin. In my country, the centralised banking system is still the most widely used banking system. As much as we advocate for the introduction of Bitcoin, it may take several years before the general public becomes acquainted with it.

The Government is one major factor. One important influence is the government. Yes, the previous government of Nigeria prohibited the usage of cryptocurrencies in deposit money banks (DMBs), non-bank financial institutions (NBFIs), and other financial institutions (OFIs). Now, as Bitcoin advocates, we need to spread some of the benefits and relevance of why the world needs to switch to these digital currencies.
So these and other discussions, I believe, would pave the way for this new administration to accept and even collaborate with Bitcoin.

In this part of the world, government plays a critical role in the acceptance and propagation of any new technology that is available, and because many people rely on government policies and walnut, government has the ability to embrace or reject current technological advancements and other ground realities.

It is thus our responsibility to bring government officials and personnel to the table, discuss with them, and figure out how some of these technologies will be deployed in various locations throughout the country. If this is accomplished, I feel it will benefit my country much.
925  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 24, 2023, 05:50:36 PM
You built your case up so well and presented the analysis that it seems almost difficult for the Governor of your province to ignore you. I like the points that you raised in your proposal particularly the issue of unemployment. Bitcoin means free and the government has to see it too. We already know that public awareness towards bitcoin is growing and you have played your role in the spread of it. I would be happy to get an update on this. You can send me a PM if you will be unable to share it with the community for whatever the reason may be.
Well noted. Mate, I will try as much as possible to share everything that I got as an update from the government here on the forum, but just in case, if I am unable to, I'll definitely put you up on a DM as well. Ultimately, this project will be the work of everyone. We are all the stakeholder in this, and I want us to all contribute in the success of this. So, since we are looking at starting up a retreat, if and only if we're able to do that, you would be briefed right before the program begins. God's willing. Thank you.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 24, 2023, 01:42:46 PM
The English Premier League game between Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur has already kicked off at the Emirates stadium and both teams are yet to score despite the early goal scoring chances in the game.
As promised, it's been a very tight game as both teams are trying to break each other's defense and from what I've seen so far, it's still very difficult to predict the outcome of the game. The two teams were unbeaten I'm the league before the start of this encounter and would still keep that status of the game ends in stalemate but I doubt if it'll finish in draw.

For the Gunners, the consistency over the previous matches have been impressive. This is the path to take. It's not just how many goals you scored, but also how well you read the game and pass to others when they have a better chance of scoring than you. This team will then have a better probability of winning.
927  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2023/2024 on: September 24, 2023, 01:35:49 PM

That will become the most interesting match but i don't wanna miss the match between aston villa vs chelsea caused by i will be seeing many players who have poor performances to play against aston villa. The bad thing if all of matches are running at the same time.
It's very difficult to pick which match to watch. The game between totenham vs arsenal looks very fast. The tempo between two teams is the same.

But let's take a good look at how promising Arsenal is right now. Saka's first goal at the first UCL match and with today's match, he had scored another, goes to show how encouraged the players are right now. That's what it means to have a good team being spearheaded by a strategic management. I watched a video this morning where the players were advised to stay stronger and always look at the hope in the faces of the fans as their encouragement. That's a strategy to remain focus and hopeful against all odds and I think this is working.

The effort wey oga BrainBoss don put for this board, I still dey find the best way to appreciate am. Like how will one person be so simple, magnanimous and progressional at heart. Him just dey wish everyone wey be Naija person for here as well as him they wish himself. Oga BrainBoss carry everyone turn in brother. His down-to-earthliness is second to none. These reasons na why I talk say we no fit thank am enough.

One thing wey dey give me joy and inspiration anywhere I find myself na how Naija person dey show muscle. Na how we dey take para regardless of our numbers. All of these no be government efforts, na individual effort, na efforts wey people like us don make. If na government own we want to follow, we won't have gotten here. Las Las, no Nigerian is less patriotic of the country, like the government itself. E be like na swear dey swear that place. Sha no be the matter dey here.

Thank you to the newbies that have been encouraged by the senior men and bosses to come here and for their beliefs to actually come here. 929  Other / Off-topic / Re: Please Be Careful With The Doctors And Hospitals You Visit. on: September 24, 2023, 08:25:01 AM
The question is how?

We're just a patient and we have no way to diagnose our illness. Is there any way to verify a good hospital? nope, is there any way to verify a honest doctor? nope. All you need is trust them and you can't do anything, it's trial and error, just pray you're not get a bad doctor.

Do you think you will not visit a hospital when you're sick due to your skepticism?

It's unfortunate that we still battling with lack of basic amenities like the healthcare system. There's nothing anyone can say about our healthcare that will convince me, rather than saying that we're all left in the hands of God. Because we have a very poor dilapidated health facilities and Infrastructure. And I'm talking about our so called general hospitals not the small primary health clinic we have scatterd here with zero or little standard.

Politicians build those primary health care cilinc communities to siphon funds adrift what should be the standard clinics. Those clinics suffer from lack of medical equipments and quackery. This narrative must change for us to become more confident in our hospitals and healthcare system.

The other day, I lost one of my most beloved aunty's (paternal uncle's wife) to the cold hands of death because of lack of manpower. The community clinic has only one doctor and the doctor comes only in the weekend to offer his professional service for free. What it means is that you're at your own risk or have to be transferred some 50 kms in the case of emergencies. We lost her to child birth.
930  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Leaders are Dreamers on: September 24, 2023, 07:57:15 AM
Leadership is the most hardest role one can ever imagine, to be a leader, means being in charge of controlling people, in their hundreds, thousands, and millions. And that's the literal meaning. Human beings are the most complex set of creations in the world. So controlling them as another human being will require a whole lot of efforts and energy put into the process.

Now, let's talk about dreams and the actualization of dreams. That could be identified in two folds. One, is for the leader to have set up an idea and ambition to pursue their visions while the other one is to put up a team of technocrats and experts that will help you actualize your dream. These team becomes your Cabinet members. The quality of the people that constitute your team, determines the success and failure of the leader's vision.

What the American cabals are more interested in right now is a stooge, someone that will stand in for them and their interest since he can dance into their own tunes and he is part of the game. But come to think of it, Joe Biden is already old and feeble. His old age is a reflection of his recent metal and physical derailment. It's only normal of his age, especially when one is suffering from Alzheimer's disease (Dementia). Although that of President Biden is not confirmed, but Biden is yet the oldest president of America.

Do you mean to say, America cannot practice a more younger and strong president in the population of about 400 million people?

934  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Whenn last did you visit the bank? on: September 22, 2023, 08:51:00 PM
Since Buhari show us shege during and after election on the cashless policy, I don't even use cash except rare cases of transportation when I use public transport. If there is any area that I like about the past government is the cashless policy but the way they bring wasn't friendly at all, I will never forget frustrations I experienced during and after that election time.

I like how things have change in the banking industry, there was this time Nigerian Commercial banks think they are gods, the untouchable because there was no alternatives then but today, with your ₦200, you can have your thousands of naira instead of walking or drinking Kilometers away to go and use their machines that will even swallow your card at the end or during the transaction. Nigeria Bank ATM don swallow your card before, the experience are not funny one and I love the innovation how it changed the banking sector.

As it is right now, there is even more competition among the micro finance banks, Kuda was one of the first micro finance banks in nigeria, then Opay follow when their transportation idea died and since the launch of their opay POS, they have become one of the fastest growing bank in Nigeria, Palmpay is good because of their loan but moni point is now fighting to have more customers, they just launched their mobile app on app store and play store to get more customers. Their adverts is all over BBNaija shows to win Nigerians heart but opay is already leading with their lightening transaction.

Evolution is contact in life, so many things will spring it up, whether with positive effect or negative effects, it has given pushed innovative ideas to the limelight. That's why some often alleged bad policies bring about innovative solutions to problems which is another avenue that people diversify and make more money. I believe the cashless policy is a case study. Unfortunately, our government is not necessarily Digital currency friendly, they would have widely adopted the technology or at least explore around the technologies.

Government needs to be more proactive and prudent in opening its windows and doors to vast of ideas out there.
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I took a proposal to my State Governor to accept Bitcoin Technology on: September 21, 2023, 06:30:28 PM
Same here. It was really surprising that some regular individual had a courage to propose something which are deemed to be illegal. Let's only hope that the request of the OP will be approved. For sure many people are then going to be proud of him. We can't just expect things like this to happen but if we really wanted to, we can also follow the footsteps of the OP. The government, or their officials can still think and talk about it and maybe approve it but it could take time. If in case Bitcoin is already fully legal on our country, there might still be people who are skeptical, or don't know about it. We can also encourage them here.
Thank you for the kind words. I am motivated to get more supportive comments from you. I will also suggest that you try out something similar at your country, state or local government. It could yield results too. I feel like the bid to make Bitcoin universal and widely accepted, we should collectively preach the gospel of Bitcoin and Blockchain technology all over the world. It's a fast growing technology that the world need to ravel with.

Although, it's a decentralized market, we can decide to create pockets of cohorts and retreats across the world to push the best part of the technology out there. Although, it's a complex tech, it could be more simplified than it is now and we can make the world more comfortable with it. What do you think?

937  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Oppression of people in Western countries on: September 21, 2023, 12:45:49 PM
The West's divide and conquer or divide and rule policy is almost coming to an end with the formation of the BRICS which is gradually coming to disrupt the western power (USA and it's bloc) against the entire world. I know this will not continue forever.

It will definitely come to a stop as there are other countries with growing economy that are getting into the limelight and are gaining control over their own economy. Such countries will emanate to become the next bloc of power like the BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India and South Africa).

We cannot operate a One World Order where the USA will gain and maintain it's power over others divisibly. Interesting days are ahead.
938  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The role of political and religious leaders in the society. on: September 21, 2023, 12:07:20 PM
It has to do with the interest of the leaders. I believe, like my religion, every other religion is up to date with the contemporary world today, in other words, the religions are aware of the future and have made provisions for such eras in their scriptures. This is to say that, whether we are in democracy or otherwise, or in a first, second or even third world country, every true religion is indiscriminate of any of those and have created guidance on how its believers can live a life in such climes. For instance, in the ancient times, there's practically no dresses or such that will cover one's nakedness, regardless, the religions have identified and made rulings to those people. Now that there's enough garments to sow clothes with, there's also rulings made to it's effect and that goes round every aspect of human life.

I believe if you find differences between the political and religious leaders that have escalated to conflicts and crisis, there's a pursuit of personal interest in it.
939  Other / Off-topic / Re: Hope $ Wisdom... on: September 21, 2023, 11:35:15 AM
In some countries they mourn adults more than they do with children and in some countries they mourn children more than adults. What I'm trying to say is, when an adult dies you lose their wisdom and when children dies you lose their hope.
So I ask, between hope and wisdom which do we value more?
Not as merely differentiated, there are people with both, the wisdom and the hope. When you're close to them, you're inspired by their wisdom and motivated by their hopes. Both embedded in one body and soul. On this ground, I can say that both hope and wisdom are intertwined. But for the sake of this thread. I would prefer wisdom than hope become it is the wisdom that will spring up the hope in you.

Oftentimes, People tend to mourn adults than children because of the memories and experiences they've gathered over that person. Especially when the adult breeds much wisdom snd understanding. Your ability to work with different people and environment could be as a result of your wisdom and understanding. This is why we would naturally mourn some adults and won't more others or even mourn a child more than an adult regardless of the age.
940  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Scam no de for bitcoin as e de for fiat. on: September 21, 2023, 11:01:50 AM
Anoda  concern for scams inside bitcoin, na wen you de do di transaction for centralized exchanges. Scammers fit try you there because, as dem de talk for dis forum, if no be your wallet, no be your coin.

I don get experience wey somebody call me say im na from my bank and dem de upgrade wan thing wey I no remember now, anyway di guy say e get SMS wey di bank send me and make I call di number for am, so im go do my own. Na OTP number from my bank, wey I see. Assuming say I no know wetin de and go send di number to am, na so di 419 guy for just clear di money wey de for my account. I de even hear say some bankers de collaborate with dis scammers to give dem sensitive details about dem customers information. But dis kind thing no fit happen for bitcoin, na for which central office dem go collect customers bitcoin wallet details? As I know, bitcoin no get office address or employees, so e de very secured against fraudsters.

So wetin una reason for di matter?

I fit say the scam wey dey inside fiat na institutional scam. Na scam wey me and u no get any control over. Na scam wey government and non-governmental actors get hand inside. Unlike in bitcoin wey everything dey decentralized and na you go blame yourself if you got scammed because the whole process dey very open, straightforward and unambiguous. You fit literally explain how your transactions they move and where he move go.

Wetin dey cause scam for Bitcoin na majorly our individual issue, maybe as per some of us no get knowledge on the process or if we allow people get access to our wallets through hacks and manipulation which is your own fault most of the time.
