922  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Supreme Court Justices a Shame or Praise on: October 26, 2023, 08:02:09 PM
It is a shame that there is no justice in Nigeria anymore as the judiciary has been supporting the evil happening in the country and they are also backing up corruption and corrupt leaders. The supreme is now the lost hope of a common man.

Imagine that FBI and CIA wanted to bring out the evidence to prove that Tinubu is not worthy to be the president of Nigeria, but to my surprise, the supreme court has ganged up with Tinubu to bring forward the judgement day to today because they know that if the evidence that the FBI brings is shown to the public, they will have no power anymore but to remove Tinubu out of power.

This is what they don't want to happen, Supreme court don't want to public to know their corrupt practice and they choose to fix the Judgement day today to make the evidence from FBI and CIA useless. It is the Judiciary that is killing this country and not the leaders. This is because the leaders knows that whatever corrupt practice that is carried out by them, when you want to protest, the leadera will tell you to go to court, because they know that they will bribe the Judges over and win the case.

Poor Nigeria with lawless system.

924  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: October 26, 2023, 02:27:13 PM

Whether we suggest that the rich people (institutions) are buying all of the bitcoin or if we might have some other reason(s) about why the BTC price is going up, historically, there have been several instances in which the BTC price moved upwardly out of an historical range that it had been, but then thereafter, never did return to that previous price range, and people who had been delaying in their buying of BTC, or waiting for lower BTC prices prior to buying, ended up looking foolish in retrospect.  So yeah, we have had right around 18 months to be buying BTC below $35k... so how much longer is it going to last?  We cannot be sure.  Are there going to be further dips below $30k?  We cannot be sure.

The position that the bitcoin price is heading to, is what many of us don't know whether it will keep rising above $33k or fall below $33k. Historically, the month of October always has bitcoin rise in price, which it finally did, after seeing it fluctuate around $27k - $28k for weeks.

The month of November will be in a week and we don't know what bitcoin price would be by then. But I believe that the price of bitcoin will fluctuate at a higher price of $35k - $38k in November
You might be right or not to say that it is because we are in the month of October that is why the price of bitcoin is at 34k+ but don't also forget that we have news that SEC will approve ETF bitcoin by January next year maybe this might also be the reason, and what if SEC fails to comply to the date, what next.

In regard of talking about next month is Bitcoin price will continue with its pump is what nobody can say because what if the price dumps. We shouldn't bother about the price and month that we are on as we haven't gotten to the halving yet, because there might still be a dump before December or by next year before the halving based on past records. What we should focus on is to make sure that we continue with our regular DCA method to keep on accumulating more bitcoin instead of being carried away by the present price or what will happen to the price, the next day or month. That can make one stop accumulating or reduce the amount that he is using for DCA.

I almost fell for this early this week when the price started to pump but I later realized that I don't have any other option than to continue with my regular 10% DCA, rather than getting confused with what price will bitcoin be and what step to take that will be the best strategy to increase my bitcoin portfolio. This is a lesson for me and is peradventure bitcoin price dips belown 30k, I might increase my DCA with additional 3%.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: He Used Our Wedding Savings to Play Bet on: October 26, 2023, 11:54:46 AM
The man is a big fool for thinking that he can double $5000 through gambling, he must be an addict that sees gambling as a means to make profit. If not after gambling with $1000 and lost the bet, he is suppose to stop gambling but instead he went ahead to gambling all his wedding funds.

He is a gambler and that is why he did it, if not his mind wouldn't go into using such important money that he has a little percent in it to gamble without looking back. I believe that the lady in question will quit the relationship, since she said that he hasn't been disgraced like that.

Poor woman that is doing everything possible to be wedded but it all ended up in vain. I have seen a marriage that was broken because of gambling addiction.
926  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much could you earn in a day ? on: October 26, 2023, 09:11:38 AM
Nothing is impossible when it comes to trading mate but what really matters is, are you a professional trader? You must know the trading strategy to use so that you can make such gain. It is advisable that newbies should learn the fundamental analysis and technical analysis in trading and you should trade when you don't understand the market. Holding bitcoin for a long term is easier and will be more profitable than trading.

Holding bitcoin for a long term is easier and will be more profitable than trading. You should only use the amount that you can afford to lose, when you want to have trading experience. A trader can't also make profit everyday.
927  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Beware of Paxful Exchange, on: October 25, 2023, 07:26:58 PM
This information is for newbies because I know that most old members in this forum has already figured out the exchange that they prefer to use. Paxful exchange is a Nigeria exchange and scammers have started using this exchange to look for victims that will fall into their scam to rob them off their bitcoin. There are fake p2p traders there which their intention is to scam anyone that wants to sell their bitcoin because for dispute to be resolved takes three weeks in paxful and this makes it gives the scammer a long period of time as an advantage for him to use all his scamming tactics on you and also deprive you access to your funds.

This is how the whole thing will go like, the  scammer will claim that he wants to buy your coins when you want to sell and in the next few minutes, he will click that he has sent you payment for you to release the coins. If you then go to your bank and confirm the payment and to your surprise you will see that there is no money sent to your account. This is where the scamming process starts from, he will start urging you yo release the coins and if you don't, he will not cancel the trade, so that he came come up with his scam.

Since he hasn't cancel the trade and after some hours, when you haven't still receive your funds, you will become worried. If you call him, he would say that he has sent it and the best option is for you to report to moderator and create a dispute of your transaction to make sure that the exchange is aware of what is going on. After you have created a dispute, moderator will tell you that it will take three weeks for them to cancel the trade after it has been confirmed that the merchant can't come out to show prove of payment. After some hours, the scammer will send you a chat as if he is the moderator of paxful that is handling the issue, that you should be sorry for any inconveniences, that they have found out the the p2p trader is a scam and they have block his account that you should send them your bitcoin wallet address so that paxful can refund back your bitcoin to your address and after that you should click on send.

The moment you fall for this and do as said, then you click on send, you have release your coins unknowingly to you, and the scammer will be in custody of your bitcoin. This is why it is good that we use a big and popular exchange in the world like Binance, Kucoin and Coinbase to avoid been vulnerable to scammers, or better still use a decentralized exchange like bisq. Also note that using a centralized or decentralized exchange doesn't still free you from being scammed. So beware of scammers and make sure that you select p2p merchant with high reputation even though their exchange price is low compare to some other traders.

This is a chat from paxful moderator chatting with my friend that didn't fall for the scammer. If you look at the color, it is purple and below the chat, you will see the paxful exchange logo and written moderator.

This second chat is from the p2p scammer guy claiming to be the moderator. If you look at the downside beneath the chat, you will see P and not paxful logo and moderator. Instead the moderator was inside the chat box. When my friend was chatting with the scammer, it was that same P that shows beneath the chat just as it shows now. This was how my friend confirmed that the p2p trader is a scammer, because at first he thought the it was bank network problem that made him not to have seen the money in his account.

The worst of it was that my friend became worried of his bitcoin in paxful custody because he needed cash, he called this scammer again and the scammer told him to send him 5k, so that he will cancel the trade and as I am writing this thread, the scammer hasn't still cancelled the trade and there is nothing that my friend can do about it than to wait till the three weeks complete for paxful to cancel the trade. What a mess and a waste of time. Beware of paxful and stay away from this exchange to avoid all these stress or losing your coins, because it is an exchange for bunch of scammers.

You can run clearnet nodes without using TOR directly, and it will work perfectly. It has little dormant and more fit to be relied on than TOR. If you route everything through TOR, the indirection overhead will be 3X, because it will choose at least 3 in between nodes AFIAK.

Electrum cold storage wallet is very safe to keep your bitcoin as long as you don't connect it to the internet, but it can be somehow complicated for newbies to understand how it works. If one don't have money to buy a hardware wallet, electrum cold storage can serve the same purpose.

I don't know among the electrum cold wallet and hardware wallet which is the safest but they all have their own disadvantage, the major thing is that you should follow all safety measures when using any of them to avoid any mistake that will lead to loss of funds.

932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UEFA Champions League 2023/24 Season on: October 24, 2023, 09:25:11 PM
Manchester United beat Copenhagen 1-0 with a goal scored by Harry Maguire. And Manchester United got their first win of this season in the UEFA Champions League. Andre Onana saved a penalty to rescue Manchester United’s slim Champions League hopes against FC Copenhagen at Old Trafford. The result revives United’s hopes of progressing to the last-16 after starting their campaign with back-to-back defeats to Bayern Munich and Galatasaray in Group A.
It was quite a shock for me to see Maguire scored the only goal in the match with a superb header to give hope to his team in the champions league. So many chances was misused by the strikers, Rashford and Gnacho but Maguire came from the back to put smile on his team mates as the was the one that made them to have the only win in the group stage.

Onana was the saviour of the day, he also sealed Manchester united victory with his beautiful save from the penalty kick that would have made United to draw the game on the last minutes of the match. Arsenal and Manchester united won their games but the last UCL games played was lost by these two teams. What a co-incidence.

Hardware wallet is the best wallet to use in storing your bitcoin for a long term, but when you don't have a hardware wallet maybe because you don't have up to $50, and you have another PC that is not in use but it is perfectly working, you can also use it as a cold storage wallet.

It is called cold storage wallet when you use it on an airgap device to generate your keys and you will never allow it to have access to the internet. You can download Electrum from the original website and use a USB to transfer the app to your PC that is not  connected to the internet and generate the seeds, or you only on your internet once to download the electrum wallet app and after that you should never connect it to the internet after you must have generated your seed.

After that, you will need an online electrum wallet to use as watch wallet, for creating transactions and broadcasting transactions, and also to track transactions. It is as save as a hardware wallet because it will never be connected to the internet, but hardware wallet are small and easy to move from one place to another.

What a substantial move we have witnessed in Bitcoin price which was worth $5000 in a single trading session Cool. Nobody was expecting such an impressive increase while stocks are falling. Bitcoin has shown its real color after a long time of uncertainty, and I was glad to see that Bitcoin is finally showing its independence from stock markets, and Bitcoin's prior correlation with other risky markets seems unrealistic, as it is hedge against inflation and dependable store of value.

https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-btc-price-breaks-34000-etf-excitement-grows
It is people that don't understand the potential of bitcoin that will think that inesting in bitcoin for a long term is a waste of time. I am having more confident on bitcoin now as I am seeing how the price of bitcoin is increasing within the twinkle of an eye and this makes me to be proud that I took a bold step to start my bitcoin investment when the price was 25k+.

I am coming up with a new strategy that I can use to accumulate bitcoin because my regular DCA method is still what I am using, but is like I might consider to stop and hodli, when the price surges higher than 35k with the 10% that I am using or maybe reduce it. This is my first experience in the market and I am learning a lot from it.

Bitcoin must outperform stock because of its volatine nature and the price of bitcoin will keep pumping till infinity, unlike stock.
936  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: High cost of commodities on: October 24, 2023, 08:48:29 AM
High price of fuel, lack of good government, corruption, no love and unity, and greed is what is killing the country. Everyone wants to get advantage of his neighbor to make money. Why is it that this only happens when Christian are celebrating their own festivals, during the Muslim salah period, the cost of commodity remains the same and the price of cloths is still the same. The cost of petrol remains the same, and we don't even know that Muslims are celebrating.

Why is it that the Christian celebrations and festive periods are different, the cost of food, cloths, fuel and the rest spike up and makes the festive period somehow difficult for the poor. I think that there is a problem in this country, ot is it that the Christian are the ones that are causing the fueling the high price of commodities in the country or what.

In the developed country, government makes the prices of commodities, especially food clothing and place of have fun very cheap, they even go as far as giving discount in whatever you buy during chrismas period so that everybody will be able to afford it and enjoy this period with less expenses, but in other country Nigeria is the other way round.
937  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: We were all indoctrinated on: October 24, 2023, 07:43:53 AM
It is what you are trained with, that you will be used to. If your parents are Christians, and live a moral life that is the character that they will impact on you, also with the Muslims and idol worshippers, this is why the other religious practice might irritate you, if you want it to.

Let love lead and not religion, I could remember when we were still in college, where I grew up, we less care about religion because we see ourselves as one. We go to the same school, eat together and have fun together. The  only thing that we didn't do was to go to the same place of worship. If we see each other as one, the no matter the religion that you belong to, you wouldn't allow it to be a barrier to love.

What I mean is that, it depends on the individual mindset how he sees other people that are not from the same religious practice with him, that they are not his enemies and not a problem so that they can live as one in love and unity to put hands together and raise the country to be a better place for our children, children.
938  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich ? on: October 23, 2023, 03:59:43 PM
If someone holds 1 bitcoin in 2023, can he call himself rich ? If not, how many bitcoins holding is equal to being rich in your opinion ?
This can depends on the location of the person, but my on side I can called myself a rich person because right now one bitcoin cost $30,799 and the rate of dollar in myself now is ₦1200 so if you multiple 30,799 by 1200 you will have ₦36,958,800 which is huge amount here in my side. Even though things are very costly with this amount now someone can achieve so many things like building a house let say three bedroom flat with complete ideas needed in a house like air condition, refrigerator, toilets fittings including hot water system, kitchen and also decorations of all the bedroom, sitting room, dinning room, even buy a simple domestic car and they will still be some changes that will remain.
Mate, you have used almost all the money to take care of needs that will make the money not last long. Why don't you think of investing the monet and wait for your returns, rather than rushing into spending it on things that wouldn't give you any income. Your country economy is declining and your fiat currency is also depreciating gradually.

Yes OP, if you have 1btc, you will be rich if you leave it till the next bull run and sell during that period, because there are possibilities that you will sell your bitcoin above $100 by 2025. Although, for one to see himself as being rich depends on the individual. Some persons as long as they they buy whatever they need and have a home, whereby everybody is happy and peaceful, they see it as being rich. While one the other hand, some people see riches as investments and having exotic cars and living a flamboyant life-style.
939  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Supreme Court Justices a Shame or Praise on: October 23, 2023, 03:19:33 PM
The Judiciary has been the hope of the common man to get justice in other countries. In Nigeria is the other way round, as our judiciary in Nigeria  is a lost of hope for the common man, due to the fact that the whole system is corrupt and they turn white to black in favor to the highest bidder of the case.

Justice is far dead in Nigeria because the law only affects the poor, while the rich people and connected people are above the law. This is what is killing Nigeria as a country and messing up the whole economy and political system. I think that everything will be judge in the favor of the president on seat because he is on power and have access to keep them appointments and big bribe because he is in the position to buy the judiciary and put them in his pocket.

The love of money has killed the honesty, truth and uprightness in our leaders which make then to allow the wicked rich people manipulate the poor through the way that they rule and lead the citizens. Imagine how the economy is getting worst everyday by day and nothing can be done about it because the people that are suppose to stand up and oppose the government have been bribed to shut their mouths.

We are once again at 30k barrier and to my knowledge this is not the first time in this year Bitcoin make it to 30k. The question is those who have bought Bitcoin at DIP, what there strategy should be now (as Bitcoin is slightly bullish)?
Yes, this is not the first time this year that Bitcoin has risen to $30k. This recent rise in Bitcoin should not make anyone mess up his DCA strategy of accumulating Bitcoin by buying the entire amount of Bitcoin he wants to accumulate at once because he thinks the price of Bitcoin will not reduce before his DCA strategy is complete. Keep up with your DCA strategy in accumulating Bitcoin because you can see the sign that Bitcoin is a solid asset and there is still enough time before the bull market kickstarts.
I am not after the price of bitcoin currently and I don't care what price bitcoin is now. This is because I am new into bitcoin investement, which I jusr started this year, so I intend to hodli for long. I would only continue accumulate with my regular DCA method, even in the next bell run, I don't plan of selling since I want to understand how bitcoin value increases with timeline.

Since by the next bull run, my investment portfolio will still be very small compared to my target. I want to have an insight of bitcoin price after the bull run, when I still have my bitcoin and continue accumulating till 2029, that will be the next bull after 2025 bull run to see how the difference in price from this next bull run with that of 2029, so that I can talk by experience, and not talking due to small profits and a short timeline. This is why when I see people that starts talking of profit now, I don't listen to them and I don't even check the price of bitcoin. It is only when I am buying that I do see the price. I am happy to have known about the DCA strategy and also applying it.
