Hi DeadTerra

Disaster upon disaster.

it would be great if you can post anything you find out here.

Thanks.
Indeed Sad
He has yet to respond to my text or when I called him, I will try again tomorrow.

I hope we all get back our GLBSE shares... so that we can continue moving to other investments.
I hope so as well, once we get them back, I will do my best to try to liquidate them either by direct contact with the issuer or by private deals with third parties.

922  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Someone want to split a BFL SC single? on: October 07, 2012, 03:40:36 PM
It makes no sense, why pay $ 645 for sharing 60Gh/s, when I can pay $650 for 30Ghs just for me without complications?
I host it, and the electricity is pretty cheap xD
I don't know Tongue
I just want to split one, so I don't have to pay fully for one and that I can use my old single for the upgrade.
If someone is interested send me a pm and we can discuss the details.

923  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Someone want to split a BFL SC single? on: October 07, 2012, 03:28:13 PM
Mini Single is already taking pre-orders
But I can't use my BFL single to upgrade to a mini single Tongue
Hence splitting a SC single makes more sense. I pay 45$ and send in the single, the other person pays 645$ and we get a 60ghash SC single.

928  Economy / Securities / Re: [GLBSE] GIPPT (closing down payback is under going) 54.72115% paid. on: October 07, 2012, 12:14:53 PM
With all the glbse trouble Is there a new plan to fix the payout. We still need to get paid almost half the money of the 100% garantied payout.
Thanks

I will do my best to honor the contract, it's to early to say how and it's mostly up to how James fixes this.
But I will do my best to ensure the contract is honored.

DeaDTerra, what is going to happen to this now that GLBSE has shut down?
It depends on how the transition goes.
If we have a good replacement of GLBSE, then we can move their.
Otherwise I could setup some kind of manual payout system,
or I could offer to sell the shares on MPEX and payout the amount I got from selling them.
I plan to honor my contract, but exactly how is to early to answer.

Hey DT, any word on what can be done now given that GLBSE is probably shutting down? I guess we will know more tomorrow, but this post doesn't look great: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=115669.0

PS, from www.glbse.com:

GLBSE has been closed

I'm sorry to inform all our users that GLBSE is no longer able to continue operating, and has now closed.

Q: What does this mean if I'm an issuer?

We will do everything in our power to make the process of moving off GLBSE as smooth as possible, we are currently working on a simple, safe, and easy to use method that will allow you to continue your relationship with your asset holders

Q:I'm a GLBSE user, what about my assets and my bitcoin?

You will be able to get back your bitcoin, and if you want to reveal your username, email, and a bitcoin address to accept payments with, you can continue your relationship with the issuer of any assets you hold.

We will begin retuning bitcoin once we have recieved all coins from the GLBSE treasurer that manages the GLBSE cash reserves. BitcoinGlobal (GLBSE's partent company) shareholders and board voted for them to be returned immediately, we are awaiting compliance with this order.
Hm,
This is bad but the degree of how much losses will be taken will depend on how well the transition off from GLBSE will be.
If someone else decides to integrate with the GLBSE codes so that we can redeem them and liquidate the assets, then the losses might not be so bad.
If someone doesn't do this and the issuers doesn't honor their contracts then thing will be bad, really bad.
I am going to start looking around and talking to the issuers, to see if a agreement can be made and if they plan to honor their contracts.
I am also going to call James, (not sure if he will respond but still).

I have talked to James.
I can give you guys a small unofficial update.
James can't reveal any details until the official statement, but he says the coins are fine and that there has been no hack or bug.

He also hinted upon legal issues, which leads me to believe that the reason GLBSE was taken down was due to legal issues probably SEC or something similar.

Awesome...
I want to state that, it's my impression and is not necessarily true so take it with a big pile of salt.
