921  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-03-10]Want Bitcoin To Replace Fiat? Here’s What’s Needed To Make It Happen on: March 10, 2016, 12:54:58 PM
Bitcoin Debates Based On False Premise

Noah Smith, an assistant professor of finance at Stony Brook University and a freelance writer for finance and business publications, sees a fair amount of misunderstanding in these debates. Both topics – which bitcoin version will prevail and whether or not bitcoin will replace fiat – are debated under the assumption that long-term value is what makes a currency good. Smith argues that the opposite is true.

Many bitcoiners are not well grounded in monetary economics, Smith writes. Hence, they assume that for a currency to be valuable, it needs the backing of a valuable commodity, like gold. They assume that money is without value without such backing. Such a view likens money to a stock certificate, a placeholder marking ownership of something with intrinsic value. Money is equated with value.

Money’s main value rests not on intrinsic value but liquidity, Smith claims. This is different from stocks, gold, housing or other real assets.

923  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: March 08, 2016, 02:01:46 AM
The bitcoin in 2020 can be really good, I think a lot of country's have stepped in by that time.
Its of course still a prediction because the bitcoin is not to predict but I think the bitcoin will be worth a lot more by than and a lot bigger, and maybe even a official currency.

maybe in 2020 each home running bitcoin full nodes to support bitcoin network, im sure it will help bitcoin network, we can finding merchand accpet bitcoin as payment method evey where
924  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How earn 1BTC a year? on: March 08, 2016, 01:56:31 AM
I think mainly trading (trading without storing), investing - buying cheaper bitcoins, selling when it gone up.
And some additional actions like campaign, sometimes maybe gamblind, loans and so on.

i think trade is good way to earn bitcoin if you have good skill, i can earn arround 0.1-0.2/week.
If im in luck i can earn 0.1btc in 1day, but sometimes you must cut lose before price fail.
925  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: March 08, 2016, 01:49:11 AM
I think its better to do both things, but we will see what is gonna happen, with the halving but its not sure if it will let the price rise.
The thing is also that its good to save money for the future, because you need money to invest in the bitcoin.
Investing is also good because of the future, and the halving that is coming.

Many people speculate the price of bitcoin will increase when halving is come. For me i think it's make sense though, i'm sure the price of bitcoin will increase when halving come or after halving.

I agree with your opinion, block halving make bitcoin more 'rare'.
now we can collect bitcoin as more as we can before block halving done.
926  Bitcoin / Press / [2016-03-07] Bitcoin Faces Extinction Without Core Development Competition on: March 08, 2016, 01:38:44 AM
Bitcoin's adolescence

Probably the best description for what is happening within bitcoin recently came from TechCrunch columnist Jon Evens, who wrote that he believes bitcoin, and derivative technologies like blockchain, "are still in their gangly antisocial adolescence".

This is fitting, given Coinbase CEO Brian Armstrong's new argument on bitcoin’s longstanding block size issue in which he alleged that some Bitcoin Core developers "lack maturity".

To remedy this issue, Armstrong believes it is time for competition in bitcoin development so the technology can push forward.

This has been widely viewed as contentious by members of the community, but perhaps it shouldn't be.

927  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is your trading strategy? on: March 08, 2016, 01:37:41 AM
bitcoin to save $ 30 per bitcoin gap has been beneficial for me. My strategy is to hold prices and sell bitcoin after profit. although only a few I am still grateful because it is an advantage.

Im suggest you to trade altcoin, it's more profitable, you can increase your skill with learning from some website analisys like newsbtc etc.
928  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: March 08, 2016, 01:36:09 AM

I wouldn't mind another year of that.

Im join bitcoin in middle 2014, im not remember it , i thiink we can reach $1000 again after block halving done, that's why Im still holding my bitcoin

930  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: February 04, 2016, 05:10:20 AM
These days BTC is so stable around the 390-410 range... Maybe halving can change this picture dramatically..

agree with you Smiley
halving make change bitcoin price to new standart price (normal price)
i think $600 is normal price after block halving
931  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin vs Dollar on: February 04, 2016, 05:08:08 AM
bitcoin is much better than dollar in my opinion, i really like it even though there are some price fluctuations

of course bitcoin is better than dollar (fiat/paper cash)
but sometimes we need papercash to make transaction and we can't use bitcoin
example If we live in a isolated village no internet conection, we can't use bitcoin

dollar/paper cash/ local currency is better than bitcoin in some situation
932  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin in 2020 on: February 04, 2016, 05:04:42 AM
By 2020 bitcoin be at the range of 3000$ to 4000$. As the question says it may touch 10000 Euros. According to 2010 growth rate
bitcoin would have reached the value. Now the market situation is very worse which gives a hope of rise in price.

the more merchand avaible in every country is more important than bitcoin value
im sure in future in every country bitcoin wll be booming and more people will use it
933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: paypal or bitcoin? on: February 04, 2016, 05:03:25 AM

934  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: February 04, 2016, 04:56:31 AM
1 Bitcoin for 15 years or more i think it's good the price would be so high, just stored 1 bitcoin and create paper wallet then keep it safe, that's what iam doing
yeah certainly not a problem of storing 1 BTC only, for the future.
it is for savings
maybe in 15 years, bitcoin prices could rise to touch $ 2,000

i think $2000 it's very high price but anything can happen
i hope the price stable at $1000
it's enough for me if i can hold 100BTC
935  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you still believe in bitcoin on: February 04, 2016, 04:55:39 AM
i beleive bitcoin is future of money
bitcoin can replace dollar system in the world
also the price of bitcoin will be stabl at $1000
936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: February 04, 2016, 04:50:30 AM
Bitcoin Could Create 'New Monetary Order'
http://www.coindesk.com/bank-of-canada-chief-bitcoin-monetary-policy/
i think in future bank can adopt bitcoin, but bitcoin still make bank dissapear
because bitcoin give acces like you have own a bank
937  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it better to save money or invest it? on: February 04, 2016, 04:46:20 AM
You need to both save and invest. There is no shortcut, start saving then invest.
safe and appropriate choice, pick two better than choosing one, because both can be done simultaneously, and there is no problem

don't forget to invest at something special like gold, real estate, etc.
in future anything can happen, bitcoin and dollar can die...
938  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: February 04, 2016, 04:41:15 AM
yeah you can see now, after desember 2015 the price of bitcoin, trended downwards, earlier, rose to touch $ 500 in December, but decreased in January, maybe it's because many people have had to sell at halving this year

if you see bitcoin price in january 2015, 2014, 2013
all of them downtrend...
i think it's a normal Smiley

we will see new high line in march maybe april
939  Other / Off-topic / Re: 2016, The Year of Bitcoin? on: February 04, 2016, 04:28:52 AM
i think 2016 will be a good year for bitcoin use and worldwide adoption, news coverage already increasing and many people using BTC and increased places actually accepting it.
2016 is important year for bitcoin
because 2016 is the 2nd block halving at bitcoin...

so im sure more peple will holding bitcoin
940  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: February 04, 2016, 04:26:48 AM
-Signatures and giveaways are great particularly if you don't have a specific method or would like to use the least possible effort.
it's efective way to earning bitcoin, (it's a best way)
Quote
-Faucets are good for slow earners with lot of effort, not a good method IMO
bad way, wasting your time, and better to buying bitcoin with your money (from salary of your real job)
Quote
-Investing BTC is rarely a profitable idea since they aren't any reliable investments
but you must research before invest, 90% investment site in bitcoin use ponzi scheme
