CLOAK is proud to present the new logo of ENIGMA!
The new logo emphasizes solidarity and safety which are representative for the CLOAK community.

Dear Cloak community,
Today we are proud to have a roundup of news, timelines and progress to announce.
As you are well aware, the Enigma open source release did not happen mid September as it was planned to. Cashmen's step back triggered miscommunication between the development and communication team. This caused us more difficulties than we anticipated and forced us to reshuffle our priorities and readjust our focus. Our initial plan was to have an engineering team ready before releasing Enigma as open source. We realized it would introduce more complexity and the best course of action is for Razor to finish the release before stepping back and moving our focus towards onboarding new engineers. This will instead be done during the testnet phase which will foster onboarding and sharing knowledge on an collaborative environment.
Razor is part of the team that started Cloak with the mission and commitment to bring to the world a truly technological breakthrough around anonymous cryptocurrency. He has played a major role in the development and success of Cloak and we cannot thank him enough for his dedication, passion and motivation he has given over the last 3 years. The Enigma open source release will mark the successful completion of his endaevor as well as an end of his direct involvement in the project and the beginning of a new journey.
We updated our website and more importantly our roadmap and team composition to reflect these upcoming changes. The main part for this quarter is not only to open source Enigma, but also ensuring it is battle tested and correctly reviewed by different entities / members of our growing community. We are planning to have a bug bounty program, and we are also glad to announce we have established a relationship with an IT security firm to conduct a software code audit.
The most important part for the next quarter (Q1 2018) will be to expand our team. Attracting and retaining top talents is key which is why a developers fund will be created for that purpose.
This is a critical part and we could not be more happy to announce that Deepend will be joining the Cloak team. Deepend has more than 20 years of software engineering experience, a strong expertise in C++ and is a firm believer in blokchain technologies. As a natural team leader, he will help us prioritize, strategize Cloak developement and oversee the recruiting process. You can expect to start seeing @Deepend involved during the testnet phase.
We have worked incredibly hard to get to this point today and we hope you find this information helpful and that it provides you with a transparent and clear insight of what to expect in the weeks to come.

 Dear Cloak Community,
We are aware that most of you are waiting for the public release of the code this September, as we announced it lately. After correspondence with the Developers it is impossible to keep to this schedule due to the complexity of the code. We jumped the gun, and we sincerely apologize for this. There is no advantage for the community and ourselves to rush, just to keep the schedule. This phase is very critical for the CLOAK Project and its future. Please understand that we are as fully committed as ever to the success of this project, especially since we are so close to the goal. This is a temporary speedbump.
These are the words from our developer:
I am still working on the changes to Enigma. They are significant and mentally taxing, but must be completed before open sourcing to mitigate against attacks to Enigma. I've seen 'open source in september' mentioned a lot. That is not going to happen. I'm aiming to get this pushed out as soon as possible and hope to have it up and running sometime in October. This is not a hard date that I am committed to though, and I'd advise against doing any PR on the back of that atm. Once I have successfully tested the new Enigma system on the 'devnet' developer network, I will provide some further technical details of the changes and how they work. Doing this before I have successfully tested the system is a bad idea though as things may need to change or be tweaked during development.In terms of things that can be done that are of real use in taking the project forward, Cloak desperately needs some new testnet nodes set up for the new release. As I've said previously, Enigma will be locked to testnet only for this initial release to enable the community (and external entities) to study the source and look for bugs/exploits. I suggested that a 'bug bounty' scheme be run after open sourcing, to kickstart this process. I will not be setting up or running this side of things, but I will assist you with advice where I can. There is also a distinct lack of documentation for the project (build instructions for the various platforms etc), so concentrating on this ahead of new PR would be sensible as it's not something I will have time to take care of. I have my hands more than full getting the new wallet release ready.
This was the current update from our developer. We apologize for the delay, but again, quality is better than quantity.
We want the best for the Cloak Community and the Cloak Project. A clean and well written code is the base for further success. In the meantime the development of the new CloakCoin-Website and the new CloakWiki areprogressing nicely. The website will be published before the end of September 2017. Besides that we are busy expanding the existing roadmap with tasks for new features which are planned to be implemented after the code is opensourced.
Last but not least we are proud to tell you that CLOAK has been listed on https://www.coinswitch.co which is an Indian exchange.
We are about to enter the very interesting Indian Cryptomarket!

wir hoffen, dass Ihr alle den Sommer genossen habt - Wir hatten eine schöne Pause, um unsere Batterien aufzuladen.
Dies ist nur ein kleines Update um ein paar Details darüber zu geben was passiert und warum.
Das neue v2.1-wallet-Release, das Stealth / Cloak-Adressen in das Enigma-System einführt, läuft gut.
Diese signifikante Veränderung sollte die Transaktionssicherheit und Privatsphäre erheblich steigern - mit der Einführung von Mulit-party Enigma Stealth Transaktionen.
Diese Änderungen am Enigma-System beinhalten eine beträchtliche Menge an Re-Engineering und erfordert eine Menge an Tests, um sicherzustellen, dass alles reibungslos läuft und Transaktionen 100% sicher und zuverlässig sind.
Um dies zu bewältigen, werden wir das Enigma-System (Senden und Cloaking) sperren auf 'testnet only' für die anfängliche v2.1-Freigabe, während eine breitere Prüfung durchgeführt wird.
Sobald alles abgemeldet ist, kann Enigma wieder in das "Live" Netzwerk eingesetzt werden.
Wie Ihr alle wisst arbeiten wir unermüdlich das Projekt so schnell wie möglich zu "Open-Sourcen".
Wir sind der Meinung, dass dieser Schritt für dezentralisierte Projekte unglaublich wichtig ist und es neuen Entwicklern ermöglicht, Funktionen, Verbesserungen und Korrekturen mitzubringen.
Darüber hinaus ermöglicht es auch den Austausch anderen Organisationen, die bei Bedarf/Interesse den Code überprüfen können.
So soll auch eine breitere Akzeptanz und Verwendung von Cloak ermöglichen.
Wir hatten bereits Anfragen von Entwicklern, die das Projekt unterstützen wollen, also preschen wir mit dem Open-Source aktiv nach vorne um dies zu ermöglichen.
Der v2.1-Quellcode wird auf GitHub im Einklang mit dem v2.1-Software-Release veröffentlicht.
Die Sperrung von Enigma auf 'Testnet' für die erste Freigabe, bildet dies die perfekte Grundlage gegen schädliche Angriffe die das Enigma / Cloaking-System versuchen auszunutzen, wenn die Quelle öffentlich sichtbar ist.
Während der öffentlichen Testphase planen wir Bug-Bounties anzubieten, um den Peer-Review-Prozess zu neuen Köpfen und Augen zu bringen.
Wir haben uns für diesen wegweisenden Schritt entschlossen, damit alle an dem Prozess mitwirken können und um den Fortschritt massiv zu beschleunigen.
Daher wird aus einem traditionellen Audit ein Community Audit.
v2.1 verwendet derzeit die vorhandene Codebasis und nicht die neue, da die neuen Enigma-Änderungen derzeit auf dem vorhandenen implementierten Code durchgeführt werden.
Die neue Codebasis wird kurz nach v2.1 veröffentlicht. Die ermöglicht es auch, dass mehr Entwickler zum Projekt beitragen und die Migration unterstützen können.
Wir halten Euch auf dem Laufenden wie die Dinge voranschreiten und legen einige weitere Details über die Enigma-Adressen offen, sobald wir eine interne Testversion im Netzwerk laufen lassen haben.
