921  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto lender Celsius mulls possible restructuring amid financial woes on: January 13, 2024, 11:11:41 PM
A little bit of good news for all those that have money stuck at Celsius as that they plan to start repaying its customers by the end of 2023, if approved by court and regulators. It is planned to be only partial repayment though, but at this point I guess they will take anything (at least that's what my friends that hve money there tell me).

Source: https://cointelegraph.com/news/celsius-network-bankruptcy-newco-seeks-court-approval-confirmation-hearing
Still waiting for updates... So far Celsius keeps sending emails asking users to update their accounts' profile informations with documents in order to be able to withdraw the money once they have the permission from the court.

The thing is, I've uploaded my documents, which exactly match the informations on my profile, but the platform presents an error, saying they don't match and that I have to re-upload them or contact support. Support doesn't reply. Another scam on the way? Smiley

Funds will be paid to Coinbase account. ID from Celsius and Coinbase accounts must exactly match. Skipping every shenanigans from Celsius when calculating how much money investors will retrieve, it's concluded it will be possible to recover about 30%-33% of the original funds (my doubt is, in Bitcoin values, or in dollar price on the moment the thieves' scheme gone down?).

Part of the funds will be destined to a mining business. I'm not sure, however, if investors will have access to part of this mining business' profit.
922  Economy / Economics / Re: Useful side hustles to sponsor a BTC investment dream. on: January 13, 2024, 10:53:15 PM
1. Digital Marketing is guaranteed to earn at least $500+/day.
2. Job as a Virtual Assistant may earn one $150/day from these sites; fiverr.com, upwork.com.
3. Reviewing Songs is also expected to earn on an average, $200/day.
Lol, what a joke... Such payrates must be a reality only for those on the top of the pyramid at freelancers' websites. For most people it won't be possible to make a miserable daily 1$, because there isn't demand from the market for the huge labor force available in every corners of the whole world connected and agglutinated in very few online websites, offering identical services. After seeing the same earning "opportunities" on the internet for so many years you get tired of being deceived... This kind of content is only useful for scammy youtubers and influencers to make income through their videos' traffic and views, while creating false expectations on the audience.

4. Watching Ads is one I find quite fascinating, but it is sure to earn one $100/day.
Really fascinating... Is it sure to make 100$ bucks a day at what platforms?

It looks the solution for the world's poverty has finally been revealed.

I'm impressed, because when I was engaged with this kind of online task I couldn't make more than 0,10$ from a single site daily. And ads were pretty limited. Tongue
923  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When it's all set and done, do not forget those in need. on: January 13, 2024, 10:39:39 PM
Before you say that I am talking trash, Bitcoin investment is like taking from some and feeding others, what this mean is someone is buying from you when you are dumping, it's like the world shape, it goes around.

So instead of showing off how successful you have become always remember that you don't get there alone, it happened through the help of others that bought from you.
Every social interactions and exchanges happen like this in this world. It's not an exclusive characteristic of Bitcoin investment. When you purchase a good or pay for a service, you are giving away something you have to receive something you want or need in counterpart. When people acquire Bitcoin from you, that is what happens. In fact, you shouldn't feel guilty for taking something from them in order to feed yourself, as they are also voluntarily taking something from you. It's a mutual flux which will feed both sides involved on the transaction.

But indeed, we should always be thankful for having honest people around to negotiate and interact, otherwise we wouldn't be able to reach anywhere alone.

So try as much as possible to help those that are in need in your surroundings, or help others that are living far away from you, you can do this anonymously too if you think it's not safe, this is the right way to bring back into the community.
Help people in need under your currently conditions, if you feel like you are able to afford this support and if you feel they deserve your help. The burden of the world shouldn't be over your shoulders, anyway. Neither you should feel obligated to do anything because you thrived, while many others perished. You are responsible for your own story, the story of your life, and it's the individual choices and decisions someone makes which will shape their lives for the better or worse.

Many people who achieved at least a bit of prosperity in life had to do sacrifices and deprive themselves from many pleasant moments to reach where they are right now, while many who perished lived an irresponsible life of pleasures and addictions, and now think to be worthy of the fruits from the prosperous people's tables, as they play the role of society's victims.

Remember, some things are unexplainable in this world and there are things that are beyond human understanding.

Happy Sunday
We don't have the answers for every questions and doubts in this world, but what I take from this limited knowledge is that we should be fair to our pairs and to ourselves in every moments of our existence. By doing this, you will be living accordingly to your conscience. It's not always without pain, but I guess there is no better way to live...
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 13, 2024, 09:31:12 PM
For example, when someone wins a big multiplier and multiplies their account by 100x, then some casinos take a long time to process the withdrawal, or they may not even give the money. however, some say that if you sign up using a good affiliate or influencer affiliate code which have huge audience, then you won't face these type issues. also, if you promote the casino using your referral link, they might not hold back your withdrawal because you helped them get new customers.

is this kind of things is considered shady practice, or is it considered fair in the online gambling world?
I'm not aware about this practice, neither I know what casinos could be doing this kind of thing. Of course it's a shady practice, because every customers of the platform should receive the same treatment by casino's operators, despite what links they used to sign up on the website. Advantages big influencers receive should be stricted to the referral income they make, plus extra promotions casinos usually launch to reward users who refer most people to the platform, and that is all.

To make a gambler's experience more difficult and bureaucratic due to he not having signed up through a youtuber or influencer's link is very unfair and would just discourage other players to share their referral links. It would be a negative propaganda for the casino on long term, so I really don't know why smart casino's owners would allow such practice to exist.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to manage gambling winnings on: January 13, 2024, 08:34:34 PM
If you are able to profit from gambling in a year's time period, why not invest the earned money into something more profitable than depositing it at a bank account to make only 4% APY, which will stay below the inflation rates of your country? You aren't making a great deal for yourself, rather it's only going to be benefical fof the government. You are saving money for the government without making any profits ftom your earned prize for you to enjoy. There must be better alternatives such as assets around, isn't there?

Depending how much profit you make from gambling, you could even invest in properties, so after one year, once you have to pay your taxes, it will have valued much more than the 4% paid by the bank.
926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: You'll be a discipline gambler in sports if you have a real bankroll. on: January 13, 2024, 07:50:01 PM
So the question is, can you manage with $50 as your total monthly bankroll, or would you rather increase it and risk losing money that is not meant for such purposes?
In my opinion there isn't any other alternatives besides sticking to a 50$ monthly budget for gambling, considering your example where the total income is 500$. Actually, 50$ or 10% from monthly wage is already a pretty high sum of money for gambling reasons, but let's consider that is the only entertainment activity this person has on his repertoire, so it's fine...

The point is the gambler can't give himself the luxury of wishing to spend more than that to gamble in a monthly basis. If the other 90% of total income isn't meant to be spent with gambling, why would someone consciously do that? Unless they are completely out of their minds, I don't see a good reason to justify that.

To chase losses, to hit a big prize, to win money to pay bills or pay for basic needs can't be considered good reasons to spend more money gambling than you should, because the chances are against you the more you play. So it's unlikely you are going to achieve such objectives through gambling. Better to focus your money and time in something more reliable, if the primarily goal is to make extra money for your needs.
927  Other / Off-topic / Re: Know when to stop on: January 13, 2024, 07:39:02 PM
To know when stop must be a thought in mind of everyone who is willing to gamble. That is basic gambling guideline, side by side with 'only gamble what you can afford to lose'. If you don't follow these simple guidelines, you are doomed and won't be able to gamble on long run without bringing negative consequences for your personal life and family.

Some people may say it's easy to tell others they must know when to stop, although it'd hard to do this when you are the one gambling. Indeed, it can be really hard for some gamblers to do this, but that is something they have to try and improve their self-control capacities along the time. I believe a key factor which could help is to identify what prevents oneself from knowing when to stop. Is it greediness, pride, or just a biological disfunctionality which trigger impulsive behaviors? Self-knowledge is an important trait to be developed in order to raise self-regulatory skills.
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Land-based Casino Enjoyers are something else. on: January 12, 2024, 10:58:45 PM
I'm actually not surprised by the content of this video, because it's a well known fact addicted gamblers do this kind of stuff in order to not have to leave the game, even if it's just for few seconds. Maybe they don't want to lose the chance of playing on that respective machine as well, so this kind of disturbing thing happens... I remember years ago when it was posted on this forum a man defecated on the floor for the same reasons of the girl presented on the video. On that time I confess to have got surprised by the situation.

Man Shits On The Floor While Gambling

If I were the casino manager or an employee around I would ask the person to immediately leave the house and not come back again in the future. Imagine someone coming to play on that machine right after the girl goes away and sitting on that puddle of piss.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling is not a means to an end, Do it for fun and don't take it as a job on: January 12, 2024, 09:29:53 PM
However, that doesn't mean we don't have people have made through gambling. We have people that has made fortune from gambling and they are making it as we speak right now from gambling, such people are destined to create wealth from gambling but they are few so judging by the numbers, gambling as a source of income isn't a thing to even try.
Since only very few people are able to make fortune from gambling, and only about 5%-13% gamblers are able to leave the casino with more money on their pockets than when they came in (researches don't reach an accurate percentage), we shouldn't think about gambling as a potential source of income or life changer. The chances are just too small to become reality, while the chances of a disaster are huge, if you keep gambling in a frequent basis with money you can't afford to lose.

As for side husle, I think it's good got the seasonal gamblers that has win to loss ratio of 4:1, they win 4 and lose 1 and they have been able to make money from gambling and doing their other jobs. Some even use the money they make from gambling to increase the size of their business and continue to run both of them and it works for them as a side husle.
If they are able to make profit, good for them. But as we said above, we shouldn't even try to think about gambling as a source of income, even as a source of extra income. These profitable gamblers you mentioned are probably inside that margin of 5%-13. In every cases, it's not going to work for most gamblers. If the goal here is to find a side hustle to increase monthly income, the individual should be seeking for it through working into something solid and real, instead of daydreaming about gambling possible outcomes.
930  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in-$200 FreeBTC⭐Win Lambo🔥0.2BTC DailyJackpot🏆$32,500 Wager Contest on: January 12, 2024, 09:06:46 PM
Here I agreed with @babygun currently situation is looking not good so just wait and watch is the best option as I am also feeling most of the investors are in trap, and we can watch drop in price because too much hype about ETF approval and most of the investors are looking for increase in price but things gone on wrong way.
Things didn't go down the wrong way. It's quite the opposite. After the ETF approval, Bitcoin has pumped to 48,700$, rising +3000$ in just one day! That was huge, therefore a correction like the one we are seeing right now should have been expected. It seems we have hit a resistance line near 49,000$, which was set up as whales' selling point, who dropped the price to 43,800$ right now. However, don't expect this dump to remain for a long time. ETF approval and the halving event are going to be important boosts to push Bitcoin price to the next level pretty soon.

Whales are playing with market's prices, as always. Just ignore them and play your own game, purchasing and accumulating most coins as possible. I expect Bitcoin to surpass the 50,000$ mark in the following months. This year has all the elements needed to be really positive and magnifying for Bitcoin and its invstors.
931  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why do gamblers always ague alot? on: January 12, 2024, 08:47:30 PM
So what is your experience on Gambling viewing centre and what have you learn and how were you able to handle such situation?
Such places can be chaotic, full of drunk people creating issues with another drunk people from the rival team for banal reasons concerning the result of the match, especially due to taunts received from the opposite team or for believing the match didn't have a fair result or fair gameplay. I don't feel comfortable among these people, because they are risking theirs and everyone else's lives for nothing after all. It's dangerous to engage ourselves in betting in such areas, as it can awake the rage of a losing crowd of a team against you, in case you won a bet against their team. Of course it's irrational from their part to act like this, but that is the kind of environment which triggers the most primitive and irrational behaviors of human beings.

If you find yourself in such situations, I advise you to get out immediately and avoid crowds of people which will potentially prevent you from moving ahead. If any signals of fights and disputes are identified nearby you, stay away. It's the first clue something bigger and nasty is going to happen soon. And never try becoming the hero of the day by separating fights involving other individuals.
932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A brief advice for the newbie gamblers. on: January 12, 2024, 06:13:55 PM
"Responsible gambling is cordially adhered by your audible alertness to realize that temptations as irresponsible gambling is inspired by your desperacies of making profits or recovering your losts".

Fellow experienced gamblers, your brief contributions would also be valuable.
Responsible gambling is to play under your financial and emotional limits. To stick your gambling session to your initial budget, which should be a sum of money from your total income you can use for entertainment purposes without further prejudice to your daily fixed expenses and appointments. Responsability means to never use the children milk and food's money for gambling reasons.

Moreover, a responsible gambler also know when to stop playing from the emotional point of view. He may still have some money left to bet, but if he feels his mood is getting too affected by gambling in a way it's raising his adrenaline rates, leading him to impulsive behavior, he has to stop immediately, before it's too late and excessive emotions take full control of his mind.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's The Weirdest Alibi Of Gamblers So They Can Continue Gambling? on: January 12, 2024, 03:28:32 PM
I think the most original reason someone once gave me was the following ===> "It keeps me out of trouble" and this was coming from an elderly lady.

She explained that she was living in a retirement centre and she constantly got into trouble with the other people, so she decided to find something else to keep her busy... and she decided to start gambling.

She says spinning $0.05 slots for hours at a casino, help her to relax and reduce her interaction with the other pensioners.
For many people it may sound ironical that gambling can keep someone out of trouble, because for common sense gambling is synonym of trouble. Anyway, the old lady has actually adopted a good coping mechanism to deal with the burden of daily life. Since it's helping her to remain out of trouble and the bets are pretty low around 5 cents of dollar each, it's a positive measure she has found to relax, at same time she is avoiding conflict with her pairs. Although it's a weird reason to gamble, it's still a pretty functional one, which I believe to be shared by many elders when trying to clear their heads from daily worries and intersocial clashes, especially against family members.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What ugly incident or occurrence have you ever experienced in gambling? on: January 12, 2024, 03:14:16 PM
That is why we have to make sure internet connection is stable and our device is working fine before gambling at online platforms. If it's going to be our lucky day, let's make sure nothing can disturb it and prevent us from winning big. Thankfully, something like we have seen on the video has never happened to me. I guess I would get really angry and mad is that happened. The worst to have occurred to me were simple incidents, like misclicking the roll button with a higher bet size than I was planning, and consequently losing a considerable sum of money at once.

But that must be something which has already happened to every gamblers around at least once. Since it's a common issue faced by many gamblers, I like when the casino platform displays a warning message when the bet size is too high, asking for confirmation if you really want to go ahead.
935  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's the view of an average citizen About crypto currencies on: January 12, 2024, 01:49:25 PM
The most common view of an average citizen on cryptocurrencies is unfamiliarity. They know the word Bitcoin and that it's an internet currency, but anything which goes behind this basic concept is unknown for them. All the informations they have come from the mainstream media, meaning they are bombarded by news telling it's something dangerous to deal with, at same time it's highly profitable, as traditional news also notice when Bitcoin price pumps a lot.

However, they don't dare getting involved with cryptocurrency, because they have no clue how to do this, neither enough will to do their own research and start from zero, like probably many of us have done in the past. Average citizens are on this average position because they aren't willing to leave their comfort zone, what would inevitably demand them to take some risks and think by themselves in search for what can be benefical for their lives.
936  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Future of Bitcoin in a Cashless Society on: January 11, 2024, 10:28:11 PM
A cashless society is likely to take place only when the new generations who were born on the crib of technology are the only people in the world. The old generations won't adapt to a cashless society after living decades of their lives dealing with paper money. A shift like that would be too traumatic. At same time, it doesn't mean many of us can't already live without cash. It's actually already possible, and I'm a example of that. I've been making all my transactions virtually without any prejudices. There are very few exceptions where I can't pay through digital means (I think once or twice in a year time period).

The point is that a cashless society isn't going to happen through Bitcoin, but through the digital fiat version... Bitcoin is just too volatile to allow a society to have a stable financial routine. Human beings seek for stability. Bitcoin would be too stressing for people to deal with as main currency.
937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: January 11, 2024, 09:11:41 PM
  • In some places, gambling is illegal, so engaging in offline gambling carries the risk of getting caught and having all assets confiscated by law enforcement authorities.
It's one of the biggest cons of playing at land based casinos. When you play at a clandestine casino you don't have any guarantees or assurances over fair play and your physical integrity. The games can be completely rigged, since the casino, neither a trusted external party will assure what the house edge and RTP of the machines are. And if you want to complain about something, who will you call? If you argue anything inside a clandestine casino you will be kicked from there. And of course, you will be unable to ask help from the police.

Another consequence of being unable to call the police or ask help from any other authorities is the fact thieves will feel confortable going after you. You become an easy and attractive target for them. Even if you win big inside an illegal casino and are paid right after, your physical integrity is still under risk, as you can be followed on your way back home by thieves from the casino itself or by thieves who were coincidentally playing there on the machine by your side.

Moreover, the police itself can be a risk as well. If they invade the clandestine house during an operation, gamblers will be arrested and have to respond in the court. Probably having to pay fines to the government for the wrongdoing. So, besides losing to gambling, they will also have to lose some extra money to the government... That is why it's much better to play at online casinos.
938  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Drug (cocaine) addicts compromises gambling potentials on: January 11, 2024, 07:08:35 PM
* Is gambling really to be blamed about the laundry drug addict guy who engaged in gambling in order to gain more money and afford his drugs?
Because to me, he has been a drug addict before began to gamble and he strictly gambled consciencelessly just to make profit and buy himself this assorted unhealthy pills (drugs). So, I don't see anyway of gambling being responsible for his irresponsible reputations with his mentality of what triggered him to gambling and his inabilities to control his gambling.
Gambling, neither drugs were responsible for his choices in life. He was responsible for his own actions. That is how things work in real world. Inanimate objects or activities can't be blamed for individuals' decisions. He decided to do drugs, and then to gamble in order to afford his initial addiction. Consequently, he suffered the consequences for his choices. You can't expect to sow apples and gather oranges... Evil seeds will develop into evil fruits.

* Was the political social influencer right to say getting to an end of online sport bets in the app stores and the moderating of gambling would regain back the devalued currency and attracts a growing economy back to the nation a right acceptable and good research?
As much as I know, individual indulgences has no stake of influences to affect the national economy at where the government folds its hands of governance While counting national welfareness reliably of the vulnerable individuals. Although, getting to an end of online sport bets from the app stores would contribute to manage the number of psychological gambling addictive effects in the country.
The most notorious traits of a social influencer is to be a deceiver, hypocritical, demagogue and populist individual. They use these "skills" to grab the attention of the public, who generates views and engagement for them on social networks. That is how they make money for a living. If they have to lie about creating miraculous solutions to solve society's struggles with simple steps, they will do this without any constraints. Of course banning gambling won't solve all the problems your nation faces, otherwise they wouldn't exist a long time ago, when online gambling popularity wasn't exploding yet.

* Is gambling really to be blamed in ruining lifes?
Even though the online casino gambling as influences on the massive audience, I don't think it has been in any strategic or physically enforced a compulsory venture to anyone that he must gamble.
I don't see gambling walking to the players instead the players walks to the gambles so, directly and indirectly gambling has an influence but has not path to be blamed over individuals irrepressible living on their caused of gambling.
The reply for this question is the same of the first one.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your thoughts on VIP Programs in casinos? on: January 11, 2024, 06:09:18 PM
1. Is the VIP program important to you when choosing a casino?
No, not anymore, because I'm not a whale gambler, and VIP programs are destinated to wealthy players.

2. Do you use the benefits of the VIP program consciously (i.e. check the requirements for level up, check level up rewards, etc.)?
I used to check requirements and rewards in the past, but I couldn't manage increasing my rank in a solid way. It ended that I was losing too much money for potential rewards which wouldn't pay the "investment" made in counterpart. Then I understood gamblers shouldn't play focused in levelling up their accounts to access VIP status. It has to happen naturally, as you play progressively as usual. And if it never happens, that is ok too. It just means you aren't a big gambler.

3. What information about the VIP program are you most interested in? What do you pay attention to when deciding whether to participate in the VIP program?
The informations I most payed attention to were the benefits. Raised cashback, free spins, special promotions... These are the features which really matter for me, but after a while you conclude there is no point in looking for them, as the casino will always configure it in a way you aren't able to really take advantage of them. You are still going to lose on long run, additionally placing huge bets to justify your participation in a VIP program.
940  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 11, 2024, 03:33:18 AM
So I want to ask, between the gambling addict and his immediate family, who does the addiction affect the most?
It depends the composition of the family. I would say the ones who most suffer are the children, when present in the family. They will watch all the quarrels between the parents around gambling addiction matter, and they will feel fear, agony, sorrow and won't be able to do anything to solve the issue or to stop suffering the emotional consequences for an issue it's not their fault. If they could simply walk away home when the arguments started... But they can't, since they are children, so they have to watch everything passively.

Kids. Always.
This is why the thread about "not letting your kids see you gamble" is also an important discussion. As much as possible it will be kept hidden from them and anyone inside or outside the gambling addicts' circle of friends.
One reason is that the kids will also be seen as bad people because their father is a gambling addict. If they will sniff that gossip that was spread by friends near you then it could become a chaotic event in their lives.
My father was a gambling addict too and he likes taking care of roosters to make it fight in the cockpit. Most of the time, he doesn't have enough money to give something to us, even just the food and table because everything is gone when he bet it all on his rooster who lost the fight. I had the feeling that our father didn't care about us and even before he died that's how I felt. There's no love, no responsibility, nothing. It's a freaking sad story but it's the truth.
I learned to gamble but I always tell myself that I will never be like him, so as much as possible I spend a lot of time with my kids and I just auto-bet my games, and hide them on another browser so they won't see anything.
For children it must be one of the worst situations to be involved in, especially if it happens consistently in a frequent basis. Without any doubts they suffer much more than the addicted gambler, wife or husband and other relatives, even because they don't have a fully developed emotional structure to deal with the problem in a mature manner yet. I know addicted people are also suffering and that they are weak people who need help, but I can't avoid thinking they are very coward when having children under their care and still acting irresponsibly. And that is valid for every forms of addiction.
