921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2023-2024 betting on: October 31, 2023, 11:13:38 PM
Mitchell is currently listed as questionable, but I have a hunch that he'll play. Therefore, I'm leaning toward taking the +3.5 early. It's possible that the odds could shift in favor of the Knicks if Mitchell indeed plays. Regardless, I believe that Cleveland will put in a strong effort, especially since they haven't secured a home win this season, and it would be their third consecutive home loss if they don't step up.
The odds have started shifting to the Cavs now that Mitchell is confirmed to be playing so now the match could be a toss-up if Mitchell performs well.

I'm still backing up the Knicks to win because the Cavs are still without their other key players. The only part I don't like about this bet is the Knicks are one of the teams that usually disappoint me whenever I bet on these guys.

I missed the last two football MOTD that somehow won and tomorrow's MOTD might end the streak as they're offering the cup game between Newcastle and Man United.

Several cup games will start within a few hours and I made this small double multi with a total of 2.1 odds. I'm only putting a small unit on this since these types of matches always have a bunch of favorites performing worse than expected.

Edit: Parlay lost, St Pauli won but it required extra time to find their second goal.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Between Profit And Conscience on: October 31, 2023, 01:38:22 AM
He thinks that with the lotto outlet, he will encourage people to gamble which is against his morals so it is a battle between his conscience and the profit.

So what's the best decision to take he is afraid if he lets go of this opportunity the lotto agent will eventually find a location in their place and eventually lose the opportunity to make a profit.
The other posts from the previous pages already mentioned some good points. It'll depend on your friend's financial situation because if money isn't the main issue, it might be worth waiting longer to see what other offers show up.

Then again, as you've mentioned, finding a replacement won't be a problem for the lotto agent, so i'd say it's mostly your friend missing out on a potentially long-term source of income when you also pointed out that lotto is popular in your country.

I see that more than half of the team in Division 2 already have their logo and it's starting to look like the ones I usually see in live scores. Cheesy

By the way in addition to DOTA questions would there be questions related to the games of Riot Games in the future? I would like to see questions about this topic very much as League of Legends and Valorant are also games with so many followers and spectators
I'm also hoping we'd have a Worlds question in one of the next few rounds since their playoffs would last around three weeks, with the semis and finals scheduled every weekend.
925  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io ⚾ Major League Baseball (MLB) ⚾ [Discussion thread] on: October 31, 2023, 12:03:22 AM
I noticed that today's MOTD would be the Diamondbacks vs Rangers and caught the markets with only a few minutes left before it gets taken down.

I had to back the Diamondbacks here as they field Pfaadt, who looked impressive during his start against the Phillies. Hopefully, the over won't ruin the ticket as this series might be due for an under after going over in the last two matches.

926  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: My $50,000 betting goal by 2024. Share Your Thoughts With Me. on: October 30, 2023, 03:45:02 PM
What are your thoughts on these strategies to assist me in achieving my $50,000 betting goal by 2024?
Most promotions and bonuses won't give you much profit, and that big of a goal might require a big bankroll. IMO it's too big of a goal even if you have several strategies to help you slowly make your way through it and the time frame makes the goal unrealistic. I've seen others hit their betting goal mostly without a time frame, so if you're serious about hitting that goal, you might have to remove the time limit because there's no need to rush things and put pressure on yourself when it could hinder you from reaching it.

What an end to our h2h, I thought i'm about to get my first loss until I saw my opponent didn't take the Dota question seriously to even up the scoreline and steal a point.

It's nice to see MLB in the mix this week, and hopefully, I picked the right team because in MLB, there's no such thing as the favorites.  Tongue
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What according to you should be the age to retire from gambling ? on: October 30, 2023, 01:44:38 AM
We've had a recent thread that asked a similar question and you already answered your question. To me, there shouldn't be a specific age for gamblers to retire from gambling when it's one of the few activities they enjoy and look forward to. Instead of age, time might be the better way to answer the question because change can happen at any time and gambling can become less entertaining than it used to be if you suddenly find other hobbies more entertaining than gambling.

I thought i'll go down a few spots in the rankings once again but the automatic substitution saved me from losing a few points after one of my five midfielders didn't start.

I tried to be cute and captain Watkins as I like playing around with whoever is facing Luton, that's 13pts down the drain from Haaland  Embarrassed
Same here, I always have Haaland as my captain and recently removed it because he's been getting not many points these past couple of rounds and now I missed 9-10 points for picking a different captain.  Tongue

Shit odds but that's what you get when you score in 16 consecutive games, this dude is unreal. Also, 49ers need to better that two-game skid.
Congrats on cashing that CMC ATTD slip, but the 49ers still can't end their losing streak after the Bengals held them off to one TD per half.

I'll opt for the team totals on today's SNF as I don't have the confidence to go for the spread or totals, thinking it could go either way when the Bears are starting to show up in their past few matches. Two TDs in the first half shouldn't be too hard of a task for the Chargers when they're one of the better teams at scoring TDs.

Edit: The bet hits in the first quarter.  Cheesy

932  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How safe do you feel with casinos that ask you to input your log detail. on: October 28, 2023, 12:03:34 AM
It's frustrating at times because most of my accounts have 2FA, but i'm okay with that extra inconvenience if it can save me from losing my account in the future. It does bother me a bit when I get logged out or my previous session expires because it sometimes gives me the thought of logging in at a potential phishing site, so I always double or triple-check before typing my username and password. In casino apps, it's easier to log in and out since they can use your fingerprint to store your login info but only a few casinos have a mobile app.
933  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: October 27, 2023, 03:41:47 PM
Im taking this because sportsbet selected son to score again. Tottenham is in a good form right now and Crystal Palace only had 1 lucky win in the last 5 games against United so we all know how this game is going to end. All that left for this special would be Son to score, obviously I know that he is capable to score but you know shit might happens
Same, today's MOTD is a no-brainer when Tottenham is one of the few teams that are raking in a lot of points on the road and we get better odds than yesterday's best MOTD.

The only downside with Tottenham's MOTD is that it could end in a 1-0 win for them since Crystal Palace held Arsenal to a 1-0 win in their first home match.

Also, some of the markets for tomorrow are already available, and the EPL multi-bet (Arsenal, Chelsea, Newcastle) looks more interesting than the next MOTD(Real vs Barca).

And your BTTS betslip did win so congrats on another good decision!
Thanks, I got lucky with that BTTS bet as AEK got a goal before receiving a red card.  Grin

BIG BIG News coming out today from csgo/cs2 esports

1) S1mple has announced he will take a leave from competitive play and focus on personal life, who would seen this coming ??
At least it's not permanent and he mentioned that he's willing to play again if there's an opportunity. When Navi wasn't doing well with this new roster, I had a hunch someone would give in, but I wasn't expecting the first player to be simple.

Also, Worlds and TI is back again later today. I couldn't place a bet on the outright markets for TI so I might just roll my Worlds bet if it hits.  Wink

I've got LNG @1.5 to win against KT Rolster for the qualifying match since there's no good reason to bet on DK vs GAM series when the odds are close to 1.1 or less.

935  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Live Sports Betting vs virtual Games Betting on: October 27, 2023, 12:46:18 AM
So, I'm throwing the question out to all of you. Which type of sports betting gets your heart racing and your wallets fattening up? Do you have a preference, and if so, why?
I'll always pick live betting over virtual games because those simulated sports can't replicate the experience I get in actual sports betting. I do agree that live betting is unpredictable if you're going to bet on every live match. The same can be said with virtual games when they rely more on luck due to how it works, so you can't back your bets with information compared to live betting. Live betting doesn't give me constant wins but it's still worth using when it gives you the option to jump in on matches you've missed and sometimes you could get good value bets through live odds if you learn how to wait.

This being a TNF game makes me want to go with the bucs +9.5 with how the TNF games have gone this season, but i also feel like Bills might finally do something and just smash the bucs today :/

Maybe Bills -2.5 & u49.5 is the play  ?
It's the best play to go for since Mayfield might not be at his best for today's match, but I remember getting cooked on my last bet builder and I saw a lot of bets being placed on the over.

I still can't forget how the Bills disappointed me last time and i'm backing them once again to cover the spread. Tongue Their mediocre performance can continue, but i'm hoping they're due for a dominant win after a close loss against the Patriots.

937  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io Betting discussion thread rev on: October 26, 2023, 04:28:01 PM
Man I should have listened to you ! It would have been 3 consecutive MOTD win if only I had picked that PSG MOTD as well. I know for sure that Milan is not going to win this game but they are pretty good in defending though thus I had a hunch it could be a draw or probably a close 1-0 win from PSG so I decided to leave that one out but gosh Mbappe ended up scoring as well
That's what I initially had in mind when I looked at their matchup, but the longer I thought about it, the more I liked PSG to win.

Grats on winning this mate
Thanks.  Cheesy

In today's MOTD we have a match in the Europa league with Brighton & Hove Albion taking on Ajax Amsterdam:

So maybe this isn't the best time to backing them due to them going through a restructuring of their team management.
Today's MOTD looks more of a trap as both teams don't have the best form, with Brighton slightly on the better side since they're playing at home and most of the risk comes from Ferguson's ATGS, which is currently at 1.8 on the match page.

We better avoid that trap and bet on something else, i'm rolling with a BTTS on the Marseille match since these teams like to score and concede goals.

LOL worlds main event resumes in just about 12 hours
We have Cloud9 vs Fnatic and then Weibo vs MAD Lions

I dont think there are many times u will get a EU team at 2+ odds against NA so i love the Fnatic play tomorrow,
For second game odds are too skewed towards weibo but maybe mad can finally do something  Sad
Yup, in other bookies, they're offering Fnatic around 2.10+ and i'm surprised when I think they're the slightly better team over Cloud9. I went with the over 2.5 and hope we'll see a competitive series as both teams are fighting to survive another round.

In the second series, if it was another EU team like BDS, maybe there's value, but with Mad Lions, I think the odds are accurate enough when they can't even beat the NA teams.
939  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a Top-down or Bottom-up bettor? on: October 26, 2023, 02:27:16 AM
Even though i've tried both of them, i'm mostly a bottom-up bettor because I noticed there are only a few different providers that most crypto sportsbooks use. I could still spend a few minutes shopping to get better odds but the best ones are always on the fiat sportsbooks and betting exchanges. Those usually require KYC and that's a pass for me, i'd rather stay with the sportsbooks and take the juice on their markets than get verified when I don't wager that much.
940  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Just like visiting a cinema on: October 26, 2023, 01:37:15 AM
Changing the way you view something isn't simple for most people. It could take time before they can adapt and for other gamblers, it might not happen because they can't remove the thought of making money or chasing losses. I used to play for profit when I started and the entertainment part is only a bonus while i'm winning. After countless losses, it shifted the other way because it's one of the few ways that helped me from spending more than my budget.

I really wouldn't compare gambling to visiting a cinema still, because while we relax with pop corn or some soda during movies, gambling in a casino might require some drink with a stronger punch like Martini or vodka.
I agree, it's not the best comparison when the others already mentioned a few good reasons, but it's enough to understand what OP is pointing out.
