Have you guys experienced any loss/win out of the issue with internet connectivity. I've mentioned about wins/losses, but mostly people get affected negatively when there is connectivity issues. Only those who can't afford to lose, are the ones that chases their losses. Think of loss as a form of "payment" for the entertainment you were having while gambling. If you can't pay for those entertainment, you shouldn't be gambling in the first place. I have seen and heard horror stories where people tries to recover their losses, gets frustrated, bets everything they have in one go, and then ends up with nothing. I have even seen people going into deep debts trying to chase their losses. The best thing is to do is forget about your losses, move on and try to do something better. No need picking sides on which one has the most effect on the person. Gamblers suffer severe addiction due to this, the stigma on them is high and nobody is ready to listen. It's just the ancient tradition beliefs that gambling is bad. People harness the believe and don't care a bit over the pains an addict undergoes. On the other hand, regardless of the treatment an addict foresees he'd get from his loved one, hiding his habit wouldn't help or solve a thing. He needs to open up when feeling any gambling challenge. A closed mouth is a closed destiny they say, if no one knows about the gambler's pains, he'll languish in the trouble for a longer period. Also comparing the treatment alcohol addicts gets to gambling addicts can't change their perspective. It's better the gambling addicts find a means of staying clear from the suffering. Instead of hiding from people, they can share the trouble with a loved one, whom they think will be of help. If they have the way to share it from other people better doing so, instead of keeping that suffering which most of the time bring them to much deeper side of addiction, it's an own will decision to make things lighter, if you want to cure yourself you need to work and seek for help, it's no longer controllable if your addiction already in the high level, only matter for you is how to please your gambling and nothing else that encircling inside you, just keep pushing and keep playing around, it's unfair treatment but it' becuase of what you are jus showing, but if you start bring things out and start seeking for help. People who still cares for you will be there, it's something that needed to begin from you and there should be that self-willingness and determination to quit your way from this situation. |

then I would like to say that stop gambling when you want making money from gambling, stop gambling if you are chasing losses, stop gambling when you don't know yourself and finally stop gambling when you don't feel any pleasure from gambling anymore.
Hopefully a little helpful for your ideas OP so it's not always about the things that winning makes you difficult, but indeed doing self-introspection is a difficult thing for humans so they don't know when to do something to stop when it makes their brains work and only rely on ambition.
For gambling, you have to set a certain amount of budget as well as a certain time so that on the one hand you can stop gambling if you lose money in gambling and you can stop gambling and on the other hand, if you win gambling, you can stop gambling after a certain time and keep your winnings. He's brought championship to TNT and that's why he's demanding. But if I am the management of TNT, I'd just let it go because if someone don't have that passion to play for the team despite being paid that much, he should know that even this is a professional league and career, budget might be a problem for the team although they've been there around for a long time. There could even bigger problems as you've said since the salary cap is bypassed if granted his request for a bigger cap.
Saying Mikey Williams brought a championship to TNT is not an appropriate description to say, at least for me. When TNT won the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup, Williams might have been the Finals MVP there but the whole cast of TNT also contributed big. It just happened that Williams topped the scorecard but overall, he's not the one who brought TNT a championship back then. Can't say he brought the championship in that case. When TNT won the 2023 PBA Governors Cup, the league couldn't give the MVP to the import that's why the locals are chosen. But on the whole series, it was their import Hollis-Jefferson as the main reason why TNT dominated the Brgy. Ginebra in the Finals. Mikey Williams has had a bad attitude even before. Always late in the practice without being noticed, always asking for a max salary increase even way back in his rookie season because he claimed he was good (yes he's good but not professional). TNT can move forward without him not unless Mikey Williams itself will be humble in returning to the team. I think this is the second time that Williams and the TNT have negotiated so I don't think that there will ever be third time even if he humbles himself. The problem with him is that, yes this is a livelihood to them but the opportunity that he's getting for that slot of his is being desired by the other players especially the local players that have talent and heart to play the game in the PBA. Well, TNT must just move and forget about him and ask some other players that are okay to be traded to land that slot for him. TNT seemed not moving on from Mikey Williams, they want him that's why his name has appear in the speculation again. They keep chasing him as they had already proven he is a good fit to the team ( based on what they achieved with him). Unfortnately this guy wants to get paid big, it's his right to demand since he is a pro and he'll play according to the contract. it's not actually a big deal, TNT could just say yes or no, but since they counter, it means they are really desperate on getting him. Yes, there are local players with talents as well, but TNT doesn't want them, they want a mixed breed as it's more atheletic than pure Filipino. I'm sure we can noticed that most players that have dominated the PBA now are not pure blooded Filipino, only one I know who is full blooded that is dominating and that is our Abay JMF. It fits to chot's system so they are still pursuing to have him back even the kid have that attitude, he's promising as he got the same type of a skill set like Alapag and Castro, we know how chot relied with these two stars and they are trying to duplicate that with Poguy and Williams combinations, though I guess with his attitude it will be difficult for coach chot to develop him from how he wanted him him to be, not unless TNT will give him the money that he's asking but I doubt maybe he will accept it then demand for more after, not sure what's the real score here but we just need to wait for more updates regarding to this negotiation that still ongoing for both Williams camp and TNT management. |
