Why not, I don't understand at this time, why a business WOULDN'T at least accept payment in BTC, even if they are simply auto converting to fiat.

Who knows, there is a chance that it is, although don't discount the significant profits that a hacker can gain from doing this. That is reason enough alone.

Litecoin had some initial and then re-surged success, although it is very dormant atm compared to bitcoin.
