921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you fear the president of your country, one day, making Crypto illegal ? on: October 11, 2020, 09:08:13 PM
There are chances of regulation on cryptocurrency by country leaders and I also see the chance of total ban reduce daily by the regulation from first world countries. Most regulations by country is to make investors pay tax and to prevent scam. Most government wont openly give the support to cryptcurrency as coin subjected to speculations, well understandable. The volatility is scary and not everyone can cope with the risk, so it is safer for government to be indifferent.
922  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which wallet do you think is the best? on: October 11, 2020, 08:59:16 PM
MyEtherWallet [1] is open source and supporting ERC-20 tokens. You can use Samourai wallet [2] and Electrum [3] for Bitcoin (it's open source too and safe)

[1] https://www.myetherwallet.com/
[2] https://samouraiwallet.com/
[3] https://electrum.org/

MEW does not have desktop app right?

Yes, Myetherwallet has no desktop app but you can open it directly using browser easily and it is the best wallet for me. There's a lot of wallet to choose but using a wallet is depends on the user if what kind of wallet they are comfortable and understand how to use it.
Do you consider the desktop or mobile app safer ?
why the regular request for use of mobile app?
923  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: United States CFTC Charges BitMEX Owners! on: October 10, 2020, 09:51:00 PM
The exchange at the moment is reorganizing the leadership of the exchange while  Arthur Hayes  faces the wraught of the law after resignation. I feel SEC will have the knowledge of who will replace him as they reorganize the positions. I just hope it wont be a selfish decision. The news is now out, so users should be more conscoius
924  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitcoin SCAM on youtube right NOW! on: October 10, 2020, 09:45:45 PM
Youtube has easier ways to deal with scam channels on cryptocurency, Just report it and it will be brought down. If this gets more common even legit cryptocurrency channels might be controlled or be lost.
925  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How do you find out about new projects? on: October 09, 2020, 07:23:07 PM
I gave up the habit of tracking ICO projects from ICO review websites, most of which just gave general evaluation of one ICO. Besides, the ICOs on the web are often described as very good and potential, but the majority will turn into a pile of rubbish. Such websites also do not have mixed comments so that investors can evaluate a project comprehensively.
If you want to invest in the best ICO make your own reviews, don't trust the web.
THose platforms mention are on twitter and Telegram, their members and followers have ability to meet the teams and ask your question, we have more AMA with all this platforms than in previous ICO years that are more discrete. This does not give a open answers, every investors will still need to do its research and no one can be 100% safe with all the hardwork to prevent scam.
926  Economy / Economics / Re: Will African countries be developed? on: October 09, 2020, 10:09:54 AM
Leadership and system of Government in Africa will always be the problem to growth. A system of government that can check any leader with corruption aim and reduce leader access to Government money, politics should recieve very low funding to attract administrators and technocrats in office. Most of the developed countries do not have 10% of what they have in Africa and they use 90% of those things in Africa at a cheaper price. Who do they pay for those things? and they deny the citizens. The system is just bad
927  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it alright to invest with bitcoin at the current market price? on: October 08, 2020, 07:04:20 PM
Bitcoin can not go back to $1 again, the worst we can see had come in March, $3900. If traders didnt use the advantage it could be over for a long time. Any price below previous ATH  ($19500)is still a good buy. We should be conversant with history and cycle to decide when to take some decision in this space. The present price maybe high and may not give the size of profit from previous purchase but I am sure no investment may give that kind of return in the 18 months if you invest in cryptocurrency.
928  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 08, 2020, 06:57:35 PM
I expect the law on the distancing for the second debate to be relaxed, we need another debate to deal with some inadequacies from the previous. There should have been discussion on last night debate though the contestant are more of a subject to the president. The rating IMO dont seem reliable and I dont know if the parties are sincere enough to accept ratings that not good and take the lessons from them. The debates still looks like a norm with little effect on people's choices.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Say btc is Not ponzi but its look like ponzi on: October 08, 2020, 10:13:38 AM
Have only seen what is legal and not, have not seen anything that describe bitcoin to be ponzi. It was a mistake by some people to use bitcoin in ponzi but if some people lost bitcoin in ponzi does it make bitcoin ponzi or make bitcoin fraud. Before Government introduce money we used some earth materials as medium of transaction, some uses cowries in some part of africa before the Gold and silver. Money or currency has features which can be compared with bitcoin, the interesting with bitcoin is the scarcity and decentralization is world population of over 7 billion. For a 21 million bitcoin, having 4 year halving cycle, digital etc we are bound to see this volatility
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Now Bounty Program totally worth less !! 90% Bounties are scam on: October 08, 2020, 09:59:07 AM
why do people participate in such scam intentionally. Have decided to leave my profile plain without campaign, if I dont trust the projects. I feel those scam cant raise fund because of the general market condition, when FOMO rises any project, scam or not will benefit from it and what will matter is running as early before the burst. Be that as it may I dont want to support any scam hence forth and will do all my research even if the reward is peanut.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Finally!! McAfee is arrested in Spain and now facing extradition on: October 08, 2020, 09:54:03 AM
I think he will eventually get away with the charges by paying a penalty to SEC board. I am sure he would have made millions it dollars by shilling those Ico's and he will be paying a small amount comparitively to get out .
This is where the problem lies most of the time with such prosecution and more even from the glorified SEC, once the culprit meet the term of charges and pay off, he is released. And all this people have made so much from fraud to pay for what they request. Mc afree is not new to all those allegations and wonder how USA might say he is not within their arrest jurisdiction but the Spanish. I dont have anything against him, never in project he fraud but he should be prosecuted for some of the scam, we need caution for scammers.
932  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Enough is enough! Good bye Bitcoin! on: October 07, 2020, 06:41:10 PM
I will rather move the coin to some centralized exchanges that does not make KYC conpulsory and are reliable. I will place the order early as longterm holder to the price I want it sold in the future, to preserve the dollar value for whatever reason may come up in the market. Your condition already make you a longterm holder. Security will priority after this, who know when the condition will come to allow fiat conversion.
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What old coins are you still holding? on: October 07, 2020, 06:20:58 PM
To have good volume the coins should be useful to attract the investors, any coin that simply copies other coins will die off and that is what we are seeing for the past five years. All the coins that are dead have nothing to add to the market as they are just copy cats from other major coins.

I am not holding much of the old coins as i sold majority at a loss and majority of the ICO projects i invested ended up halting the project or no interest from the developers as they cannot attract investors anymore.
things to consider with old coin is the team, community and recent development. Old coin will have the experience, if they keep the community and gets more partners or probably get engaged in recent hype idea like the NFTs and Defi, they could get themselves some interested investors and money to pump. Traders are looking for profits and FOMO could set in for any pumping project and who can tell how high it could get for anyone in this market.
934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What old coins are you still holding? on: October 06, 2020, 08:32:46 PM
I raised a thread sometimes ago comparing the old and new coins in the present market. Altcoin does not have that long history and could be difficult to predict what will happen to them in this market. Only the reliable old coins with real use case will thrive in this present market, most of them will struggle and if they cant make good volume for the exchanges that is adding coins weekly they will be delisted. Most of the coin will rely on the price pump of bitcoin and some may have one last pump before the death. It will be very important for most of them to revive their community or bring new attractive Ideas.
935  Other / Archival / Re: DeFi hyip is over? on: October 06, 2020, 08:21:58 PM
We are yet to see new Defi in this market, we are expecting few more promising  Defi projects in few weeks. I believe the successful crowdfund of those projects will sustain my trust in the hype of Defi in this market. The present dump in the market was predicted and the whole market is affect but the bitcoin and Ethereum maintain the range of dump for the past few weeks, nothing in 60% dump in price like in the Defi. It is a controlled dump
936  Economy / Economics / Re: Rise in US unemployment. Thoughts? on: October 05, 2020, 04:25:53 PM
The report on unemployment comes out every month in USA, there was decline in unemployment rate in September (7.9%) from August (8.4%), compare with the unemployment rate at the dippiest of the Pandemic in April (14 %). Almost 700k jobs were added in September alone

937  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What are the best ways of introducing someone to bitcoin ? on: October 05, 2020, 11:36:27 AM
Maybe we should deal more with the challenges from new interested people. I think its a better time to encourage family and friends to join in the investment. Get them a wallet and purchase a small amount of coins to them. Bitcoin looks more of a very expensive coin to new investors, the idea is to buy the size you can afford but I tell the close ones you cant see the size of profit in altcoin from bitcoin, however, altcoin has its risk. I tried to tell them not to check the chart daily, the volatility can be scary to new traders.
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Don't hate long term promotions on: October 04, 2020, 07:53:48 PM
Don't compare the year you mean or this year, to be honest I don't like long-term projects, let alone 3-4 months. it's not worth the time and the rewards either. if it's a real project then it doesn't matter, but most real projects end up scam, after promoting for months at last don't get a dime.
Any  campaign beyond 10 weeks, have decided not to participate in them again. The only long time reward project was WPP, the reward was handsome in the bear market and even bought into the project later on. ELAD and Rootproject were longterm bounty beyond 6 months and I wasted my time with them. Sadly they didnt get the expected fund, since those campaign have decided to stay with  short term campaign. DAI is the most rewarding bounty campaign this year and it was only for 4 weeks.
939  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never invest in any cryptocurrencies! on: October 03, 2020, 05:03:28 PM
It seems to me that some people are still thinking about the losses incurred by investing in 2017 and they think that such a time is going to happen in 2020. The crypto market can change its shape at any time so before investing transform yourself into a knowledge force that you can pick good currencies and you will be superior for research.
If you are here in 2016 and made good money in 2017/18 you will compare or assess your state in the market now. Looking at the position of some coin in ones portfolio and the size, one can decide of how to maximize profit from the bull market
940  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Presidential debates on: October 03, 2020, 04:46:17 PM
Eh I don't know about him only having the first 30 mins to do so. Most people won't even end up watching the debate, they'll just watch the highlights. But I understand where you're coming from here.

Totally agree with Theymos here though, Trump TRULY has to make Biden fuck up a ton and continue the line of 'Biden is mentally unable to be the President' while not making himself look crazy in the process. It's going to be much harder to paint him as horribly corrupt because ya know, Biden is NOT Clinton. Though Trump can point to the fact that Biden has been in government for the past 40 something yrs and nothing has changed.

30 mins folks!

Keep in mind, most people have already made up their mind on who they're going to vote for so they don't need the entire debate to make up their mind. So first impressions are going to matter. Also consider, itt's a Tuesday night and middle working class people that spend their day hard at work are going to have a short attention span. These are working people, family people, that aren't going to spend their evenings glued to the screen for an hour and a half.

These are also the people that don't bother with highlights. The average American hardly cares about politics, frankly. And I don't think the highlight reals will highlight Joe Biden's slurred speech or incoherent statements if he makes them, so that's another hurdle for Trump. He needs to make his case early and hope Joe Biden messed up early.
Well said, the debate is changing no ones mind on choice in election. The latest Trump illness will play sympathy from few more but the other party is trying not to play politics with it. News and TV media have been restless with the illness and I dont think play any disaster in the poll if the health condition of the president deteriorate.
