I'm calling overweight on Brian Kelley.

How does this tard maintain employment? If he did what he did to NAUT with real money he would be in jail right now. Its amazing that people can continue to believe his words mean a damn thing.
9202  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-06-07] Bitcoin Hype ‘Has Barely Even Begun,’ Says Blockbid COO on: July 09, 2018, 05:54:26 AM
Funny how the people making such outlandish predictions are the ones who stand to gain from a high-priced bitcoin. So far, they've all been wrong. But we'll forget their names after they are definitively wrong and a new batch of proclaimed "analysts" with titles like CEO, COO, etc, will jump into their place.
9203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPico throwing down against Roger Ver on: July 07, 2018, 02:23:33 AM
Here is why I think BCH is Bitcoin: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vufeM92bfJw

I gave clear and consise reasons why I think that is the case.  Feel free to refute them with logic and evidence.
Your reasons are "bitcoin cash has ths, bitcoin core does not". What kind of bullshit rhetoric is that?

Funny how the only people who call bitcoin "bitcoin core" are BCH supporters. Its pretty sad that Roger dragged that drama onto bitcoin.com. Guess somebody should make a bitcoincore.com? Lol, what a joke.

There are 3 main reasons by BCH isn't the real bitcoin.

1. The real bitcoin came first, and there literally would be no BCH without bitcoin.
2. BTC is just starting to break into the mainstream and actually be used for things, BCH is not.
3. The symbol for bitcoin is BTC. That's the real bitcoin. The symbol for Bitcoin Cash is BCH.

Roger might have retained some respectability if he had developed his own name for his altcoin. Instead he's simply riding on the coat-tails of bitcoin, which is quite evident by observing all the ways he's hijacked bitcoin.com to support BCH, to fuel his insatiable greed.

9205  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BCC] Bitconnect Coin - Decentralized Cryptocurrency on: July 05, 2018, 07:13:56 AM
You can already trade in your old BCCs for a new coin, called Responsibility Coin.
We already have Stephen Colbert and Keegan Key as sponsors.

You can't buy or sell it though because its stated mission is to be a pump and dump coin, so that would be just irresponsible.

9206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: What's a list of your most used/trusted exchanges? on: July 04, 2018, 04:31:08 AM
I updated the OP to reflect the results of the comments.

Top Altcoin Exchanges

- Binance
- Bittrex
- cryptopia.nz
- YoBit

Top BTC Exchanges

- Coinbase
- Bitfinex

Top DEXs

- WAVES
- Etherdelta

The withdraw fees on KuCoin are way too high, otherwise they'd be on the list as well.
9207  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: July 04, 2018, 04:18:00 AM
Here are the real 100 million Petros PTR

Account Detail
Address   NC2LEUTTZVOZLP6TBZSZFWTFR3MQ7O3LXZYXRRM4
Public key   aa7733af08b2d5534aa1075979a8d0ec28576fd52fcc107fe4b0ef35d85adffb

#   Mosaic   Quantity
1   ve:ptr   100,000,000.000000

http://explorer.nemchina.com/?#/s_account?account=NC2LEUTTZVOZLP6TBZSZFWTFR3MQ7O3LXZYXRRM4

This address is still sitting on all the PTRs despite taseenb saying everybody who purchased them, received them. Also this is contradictory to Maduro's claims that sales orders are being transacted in terms of PTR. Uh, they're obviously not because all PTRs are sitting in the same wallet still.
9208  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitPico throwing down against Roger Ver on: July 03, 2018, 07:11:48 AM
BTC doesn't need that kind of publicity because its already bigger than every single other coin put together.

Hmm. CMC reports Bitcoin dominance at 42.8%.

Must be 'new math'.

"Bigger" would mean different aspects, not only the market capitalization in my opinion. Compare Bitcoin's network effects, security, stability, and usefulness as a decentralized, censorship resistant "hard money"

All those aspects are factored into the market cap. Econ 101.

Then I believe that using market capitalization as the "base of dominance" is flawed because to use Ethereum as an example, it is mainly used for issuing ICO shitcoins for projects that have no real usage in the real world. The other altcoins are more of the same.

Agreed. I would say at least 90% of the total market cap is speculation-based.

Take for example Bitcoin Cash... Probably 99% of its value is speculative. Statistically zero real-world implementation, because I'm rounding down the less than 1/2 percent to zero.
9209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: July 02, 2018, 11:27:27 AM
Petro incidentally slammed by eToro, a social trading and multi-asset brokerage company:

Sputnik: You know in the past there's been a malaise regarding cryptocurrencies, some countries have banned it, some countries are embracing it and creating their own cryptocurrency. Venezuela has linked it to their own oil production as well, what's your feeling with companies like Facebook taking a more friendly approach to cryptocurrencies, what changes can this have on the legal status of it?

Mati Greenspan: I'm not certain that Facebook's decision is going to influence in any way, shape or form the economy in Venezuela. I think that if Nicolas Maduro would like to succeed with projects like the Petro, he would certainly need to create some more transparency than he's currently doing at the moment. As far as I know, the Petro was originally planned for the Ethereum network.

There would have been a lot more open source, be a lot more transparent, but unfortunately we're not able to verify at the moment the figures that he's mentioning as far as how much money he's raised, and there's no clarity about how to redeem a Petro for a barrel of oil or anything like that.

So certainly the blockchain technology is capable of transforming the economy, but it needs to be done in the right way. It needs to be done very transparently if it is to succeed.

The coin is down to 1 node.

I can't sync the last 12 weeks, which makes me think the node doesn't have them.

The difficulty is currently 0.07094913, so there's no need to join a mining pool.
9211  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is Back, suggests Fortune on: July 02, 2018, 01:33:32 AM
today, this was added to that website.

http://nakamotofamilyfoundation.org/Nakamoto_Foundation.txt

i don't know what to think, it looks like a hoax

but at least is not craig because he stated in the first pdf that he was on the east coast

Hey thanks for posting this. You're the first poster to post something useful here, and its what I asked for, so I'm giving you a Merit.
9212  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Satoshi is Back, suggests Bloomberg on: July 01, 2018, 08:32:05 AM
If Satoshi is back, does it means bitcoin is on rise again? That's what I supposed to understand it. 😊

There's honestly no reason for Satoshi to come back. To do what? In about a year's worth of posting on this forum, he set the entire thing in motion and its been doing relatively fine ever since. He created a worldwide revolution -- pretty hard to top that.

Its been hypothesized that if Satoshi ever moved any coins from his original stash, it might create chaos in the markets, maybe taken as a sign that he's lost confidence in bitcoin. So you might not actually want him to come back.
9213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Satoshi is Back, suggests Fortune on: July 01, 2018, 05:40:30 AM
OP is linking a blog site (blog section of furtune.com) where someone created the handle bloomberg
the article wrote by that someone actuallys says that the real bloomberg cannot confirm or deny the article

Whoops, that was actually my bad. I changed the subject title to reflect that its Fortune.

the OP's footnote.. is a link that goes to youtube to play the video... by rick astley... AKA as a rickroll video  (basically th punchline meaning you just been trolled)

That part is more meant to appeal to the "get rich quick" crowd, and yes it is meant to be a rickroll. I'm happy its working.
9214  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Satoshi is Back, suggests Fortune on: July 01, 2018, 03:52:16 AM
Bloomberg Fortune, today (or yesterday, depending on where you live):

"Unknown Bitcoin Creator Satoshi Nakamoto Might Be Writing a Book

Is the unknown creator of Bitcoin writing a book about it?

That could be concluded from a cryptic message posted Friday at a website possibly linked to Satoshi Nakamoto, the pseudonym used by the person or people who released the original Bitcoin white paper in 2008."

read more: http://fortune.com/2018/06/30/satoshi-nakamoto-bitcoin-book/

Can someone kindly tell us what website they're talking about? Its not this one is it?
9215  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2018-6-24]Cardano Co-Founder: Wall Street Will Bring ‘Tens of Trillions of. . . on: July 01, 2018, 03:47:27 AM
Cardano has the highest market cap for the least utilized coin, ever.

Don't believe me? Take a look at its block explorer. Empty block after empty block.

https://cardanoexplorer.com/

Literally nobody's using it for anything.

If he means an exponentially bigger amount of speculation-based money will flow into crypto, as it did with Cardano, then perhaps he's right.

In the mean time, Cardano is looking more and more like a scam with each passing day.
9216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: July 01, 2018, 02:53:08 AM

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, reported Monday that for the first time there were sales in the housing and footwear sector in the order of 78,431 Petros, which is equivalent to 46 million dollars.

Oh my God, there's so many things wrong with this. First of all, the math comes out to $586.50 a petro with those numbers. Second of all, the petro hasn't been released yet! After 3 weeks, its homepage still says this:

What a joke!
9217  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Hawaiicoin - A Slice of Paradise on: June 30, 2018, 11:36:07 AM

I don't. I did like you said and cloned to gitlab just to be sure it stays available, but I do have the Hawaiicoinwinv2.zip I will upload to mega for you since it's what I've got.

OK thanks. I imported one of my old wallet.dats and my coins are still there, so that's a good sign.

One problem: the sync is stopped at 31 weeks ago -- my last block was on Nov. 25, 2017. I might need you to connect to the network so I can sync from you. However, from what I know about blockchains, it feels like the two nodes who I'm connected to should have whatever transactions you added to the chain.

The two nodes are:

13.58.217.38   United States    Ohio   Columbus
52.32.228.80   United States    Oregon   Portland

I think I may need to addnode you. If you PM me the IP of your node (I think its just your IP address but then again I'm not entirely knowledgeable when it comes to mining), and we work out a time when we're both online, then hopefully I can sync the rest of the blocks. And then, if you send me your HIC address, I'll send you a thousand coins. And voila, Hawaiicoin is reborn.
9218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: June 30, 2018, 11:10:20 AM
stop flooding the thread with fake, biased and old shit from untrusted sources non-related to the Petro
that a foreigner doesn't care and it won't change anything.
thanks.

Everything is related. The foreigner must know that the Venezuelan government is the way it is, and from it you can always expect the same: ruin.
A dictatorship or lack of democracy does not always lead to economic deterioration. Many authoritarians increased their countries economically. But when this is not the case, the ruin is totally guaranteed. And Venezuela is a clear example of inefficiency.
thanks.

He's just resorting to his same tried-and-failed tactic of deflecting your information with ad hominem and character attacks. If he had anything interesting or reasonable to say to rebut you, he would have said it. But he doesn't. If I was Maduro I would fire him from his job as Petro Defense Bot.
9219  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-SALE][ICO] Petro $PTR - Oil backed crypto currency launched by Venezuela on: June 30, 2018, 11:06:07 AM
The website claims $5 billion.
If you add up transactions from the NEM mosaic, its about $260,000.
But according to you, that's only a "test" portion of buyers.
following the "experts" including yourself, nobody bought petros.
if nobody bought petros, How can it be the biggest scam ever?

I ask you again, why do you keep defending this blatant scam? What's wrong with you?
i ask you again
Why do you keep repeting yourself?
What's wrong with you?

I am Nutilda the Hungry, Destroyer of Buffets.
I have more credibility in my left pinky than the both of you do in your entire lineages.
now we know the reason.

I repeat - all you and taseenb do is shill for the petro.
That's your entire, pathetic existence.
I hope the pay was at least good for selling out your soul and helping at least 200 people lose their money.
fine. don't forget to close the door after leave. thanks.

Whoops you forgot to edit your links a bit. It looks like you're talking to yourself, when really you're only doing that when you talk to taseenb.

Anyway, to answer your questions, since you asked, obviously a few people bought the petro. They're here in this thread, and they're all pretty pissed off right now.

I never said nobody bought the petro, you did. But the NEM transfers only reflect 200-203 participants, whereas Maduro claims 87,200 people bought the petro, and the website for the petro says it was the "biggest ICO ever," selling out all its tokens, meaning $5 billion was raised. So the real number is somewhere between $200,000 and $5 billion.

You should probably report me to the admins for continuing to post in your sacred thread. This isn't the Venezuelan state media. You don't have total control over what people think here. This is the outside world. Welcome.
9220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cardano on: June 30, 2018, 10:52:54 AM
In my opinion, Cardano is a popular cryptocurrency among traders, especially among Asian countries which account for more than 40% of all worldwide Cardano transactions.

Source please.

40% of all Cardano transactions still only equal 576 transactions a day, which is about half as many transactions as Dogecoin processes PER HOUR.
