9201  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why is bitcoin controlled by the dollar! on: July 10, 2016, 08:31:33 AM
bitcoin is mean't to be fiat independent. Why is its price/value backed by dollar, instead of the gold-standard.
In reality, we're still under the tight grips of central banks, United States, and the dollar!

This is a large issue which needs to be fixed, internally within our community and externally ...

Why?Because the USD is the most popular currency in the world. That`s why.

People can`t just stop using it.If the gold standard returns, the world inflation will disappear and

the economical growth will increase.Central bankers don`t want this ....
9202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you recieved random BTC, would you return it? on: July 10, 2016, 08:28:14 AM
Let's say you wake up some day and you get like 1 BTC. For me this is a lot. What do you do? You return back the BTC to the owner, do you keep it? and why.

I don't know what I would do to be honest. I mean who knows if the guy that just sent you this is a criminal or a good man? Very tough decision. For someone like me that has a small BTC wallet and is trying to make as much BTC as possible before its too late due price going too high, it would be hard to return it, but I would feel bad to keep it too.

If someone sends me 1 btc as a gift(not very possible),i will keep it.

If someone send me the 1 btc by mistake,i would refund him.

9203  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corporations and Bitcoin on: July 09, 2016, 10:07:39 AM
How do the big corps feel about bitcoin?  How will they feel about bitcoin?  We know they are intrigued by the underlying technology of bitcoin, the blockchain.  Please back up your claims.

What big corps are you talking about?Microsoft,Google,Apple,Yahoo?

Are you talking about big financial corporations and banks?Be more specific.

I don`t think that they really care about bitcoin...

9204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Happy halving day on: July 09, 2016, 10:04:44 AM
I have a proposal for a new celebration called "Halving Day".

The celebration would coincide with the Bitcoin block halving that occurs once every 4 years.  Given the random nature of blocks being found, the day cannot be set until probably a few months before the actual day.

The purpose of the celebration is to simply get together with fellow bitcoiners and celebrate this wonderful invention called Bitcoin.  I would like to see large organised events similar in nature to what we see for New Years celebrations around the world.

Similar to New Years, there could be a live broadcast on a big screen (see bitcoinclock.com) or loud speaker that announces the first halved block in realtime for a bit of arbitrary back slapping and high five'ing.

Other activities could be combined into the celebrations, maybe charity fund raises or company announcements or awards ceremonies..

If nothing else, even just printing some posters saying "happy halving day", or wishing strangers in the street a "happy halving day".

Eventually I would like to see this event become as popular as other 4 year events like the Olympics and World Cup.

So lets get ready to celebrate the inaugural Halving Day in 6 weeks time on the 30-Nov-2012.

Happy halving day!

Happy halving day to everyone!

I wish the btc price could reach 1000$ or more  soon.

Lets celebtrate bitcoin birthday as well.I forgot the exact date....

9205  Economy / Economics / Re: What would happen if Bitcoin became a legal currency? on: July 09, 2016, 05:15:14 AM
Everyone would like the bitcoin is accepted in all online and real stores and, as as mentioned in the title, what would happen if Bitcoin became a legal currency?

Bitcoin is a legal currency in most of the countries.

If all the people in the world adopt bitcoin, the price per btc will be 3M USD and we will be rich.
9206  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who really uses bitcoin? on: July 08, 2016, 01:51:53 PM
Hi I wonder about the demographics of bitcoin. Who uses it, race, location, gender?

I read the coindesk paper on it, but wonder if there is some other more updated documentation on it.

Regards

My suggestions are:

99% Men,from which 55% white,40% asian and 5% other. Grin

This is just a suggestion,i don`t know where to find demographic data about this.

Bitcoin will spread very fast,if more women start using it...
9207  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoins existence has increased the spread of child pornography on: July 08, 2016, 01:45:17 PM
http://qz.com/725828/a-startup-is-trying-solve-bitcoins-child-pornography-problem/

This is a very alarming article, and this is one of the reasons why the government should intervene with the bitcoin transactions to stop this kind of nefarious activities. It is not only used in pornography but also purchase of drugs and other illegal equipments. We may not know but maybe terrorists are buying weapon of mass destruction using bitcoin to terrorize cities. This is a big call to all government to monitor the illegal operations in the cryptocurrency economy. This things must be stop with the help of the government for our safety and childrens welfare.

Even if the government intervenes and start regulating bitcoin, the criminals will move to some altcoin and

start using dogecoin,litecoin,etc...

This is not the solution and the problem isn`t bitcoin itself.
9208  Other / Off-topic / Re: How to tell your Girlfirend about BitcoiN?? on: July 08, 2016, 05:50:05 AM

and used as a  surrency as well.

Hope that this will be enough. Grin
9209  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin Newbie Here on: July 08, 2016, 05:32:03 AM
Hi all,

I just wanted to start off by introducing myself and saying hello.  I am relatively new to the Bitcoin scene and the whole concept of it is fascinating to me.  The idea that it is not a fiat currency that is controlled and abused by the central banks via the fractional reserve ratio, etc. is very refreshing.

Like most people, I'm not a fan of the current 9-5 rat race and am always on the look out for a way to make six figures or more online.  I understand that there are tons of scams out there in the form of Ponzis, MLM, HYIPS (Ponzis again lol), Binary Options trading software, fake forex trading software, and other programs that intend to use and abuse poor people just looking to get ahead in life. In fact, it's because that there are so many scams out there that I'd like to learn how to make big money to replace a white collar job.  If I can accomplish that, I can in turn help others to make money online.  That is one of my dreams in life:  to enrich others, not to drain all of their financial resources.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can make 6 figures or more (U.S. dollars or Bitcoin) with little to no start up capital, I would highly appreciate it.  Otherwise, you are welcome to introduce yourself and just chat as I am always on the look out for friends too.  Good luck on your quest for your own personal Holy Grail   Smiley

You want to make 6 figures with little or no start capital??? LOL

This is pretty optimistic. You should lower your goals and make them easier to achieve OP.

Don`t ask for suggestions. You should invent your own idea or plan.

9211  Economy / Economics / Re: Will the world Economy Collapse this year? on: July 07, 2016, 03:22:25 PM
how legitimate are channels like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ext9G4wr9EU in the information they presents correct? Or are they just people who are trying to manipulate others into buying gold.

Some players just "sell" panic to get huge profits.

The world economy isn`t recovering very well and there might be a new crysis, but i wouldn`t say

"collapse".
9212  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin or Gold? What would you pick? on: July 07, 2016, 03:19:45 PM
If given a choice to walk away with either Bitcoin or gold of equivalent value, what would you pick?

Asians and Westerners were asked in Taipei in Chinese and English if they would take Bitcoin or gold home with them that day, and the answer might surprise you...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m6GiC8dqN9A

We just shot a video outside the Taipei 101 skyscraper area here and gave people a chance to answer if they would walk away with either Bitcoin or gold- and why.

If you were approached and were offered the same deal, would you walk away with Bitcoin or gold in your pocket, and why???

I would pick them both(if there was such a choice).Bitcoin is more profitable while gold is more secure.

The best combination of accets  Grin

9213  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: did you put all your money into bitcoin? on: July 07, 2016, 07:12:01 AM
I put most of my money into bitcoin how about you?

I will never put all my money into bitcoin, because if the price does down, i will get frustrated

even do i know that the price will do up sooner or later.

I can put around 25% of all my money into bitcoin...
9214  Economy / Economics / Re: The future of the paper money on: July 07, 2016, 06:32:19 AM
Andrew Haldane said one solution would be for the Bank of England to issue a state-backed digital currency based on bitcoin. Supporting this initiative would be a negative interest rate levied on paper currency relative to the digital currency, with these measures do you think there is more possibilities that sometime:

Paper money will be banned entirely?
How long do you think that happens?
would it work?
What security and privacy risks would it raise?
And how would public and privately issued monies interact?

Paper money can`t be banned entirely.99% of the people still need paper money.

If all the currencies become digital the whole financial system might become more centralized and vulnerable

to hacks and crashs. The risks are too big.

Bitcoins can be printed and used as paper money....
9215  Other / Off-topic / Re: Bank or Bitcoin Wallet? on: July 07, 2016, 06:28:39 AM
what you will chose amomg them.and why do the banks are afraid of bitcoin.why banks are not much smooth and faster like bitcoin.if banks start accepting bitcoin as payments then will it became a revolutionary for us?can bank can solve our mining or money curculation probems.

I use both and i don`t know why banks are afraid of btc. It`s just another currency like all the other

currencies.Banks trade with currecncies all the time. They should adopt bitcoin.

Banks are not faster than btc mostly because of government regulations.
9216  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How cloud mining ponzis nearly ruined my bitcoin business completely on: July 07, 2016, 06:24:46 AM
Hi, my name is Tyler.

I work for minimum wage in America and am tired as fuk most of the time.

I know what you are thinking, "join the club." Its hard being broke as a joke.

When I first got into bitcoin, I was working on creating a website. I got a 1.5 bitcoin loan or so from bitcoin jam.
My plan was to invest in cloud mining and use the daily profits to advertise.
Facebook charges you $10 for 10 visitors, yet you can get 10 higher quality bitcoin enthusianados for 7¢ worth of bitcoin.
I didn't need to invest all the bitcoin into advertising all at once, so I thought why not do it incrementally?

I was hoping to invest my cloud mining profits at a few bitmil a day and drive traffic to my site to build a following slowly.

I knew cloud mining was risky so I diversified and even did research to make sure each company had a valid POOL.

YET EVERY DAMN CLOUD MINING SITE TURNED OUT TO BE A PONZI! And I lost ALL my coins.

Cointellect - hashie - hashprofit - scrypt.cc - cloudhasher - probably 1 or 2 others.... ALL SCAMS.

I was a newbie and I made a bad decision, yes. But why is there so much anger at me, when ultimately...
those cloud mining sites are at fault and should not exist? Why is there not greater effort to jail thieves like this?
Why is there not a hacker community taking down ponzis before they are allowed to hurt honest people?
Why the hell or HOW the hell are those people happy with themselves doing "business" the way they do???

https://btcjam.com/users/18903
I still owe a little over a bitcoin and I got a new job and will pay it back soon.
That is my promise to this community.

It sucks because I worked for 2 solid weeks of my life
just to pay off thieves instead of focus on my business. I'm just sharing my pain here I guess...

I also just wanted to let everyone know I am a genuine guy and am going to fix the errors I inherited from said THIEVES.

What is being done as retribution to all the ponzis? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=878387.0

And why am I still receiving hate? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1541316
I clearly remember you about your bullshit posts before

https://btcjam.com/users/18903

You've got some over due debts

My work is not bullshit.

Im trying, I really am. God bless. Thanks for your comments and support.

to the Trolls, get a life please. Try to create real value or constructive criticism atleast.
to the Bitcoin humans with soul, much love! Smiley Thanks and cheers!

I can`t believe that people still invest in cloud mining companies even do they are known as scams.

The whole idea of cloud mining is really stupid.

I`m sorry about your failure, but success can be achieved only by trial and error.Good luck OP.

9218  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "If" Bitcoin as scam on: July 06, 2016, 02:01:34 PM
How if sathosi claim bitcoin as scam? How many your invest money to bitcoin? Are some dev altcoin will stay with their coin? Will sathosi go to jail after claimed it?

Man,i don`t understand your thread and your questions.Perfect your english.

We don`t even know who is the real Satoshi Nakamoto.Millions of people believe in bitcoin and will

continue to believe, even if a preson that claims he is satoshi says that btc is a "scam".
9219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: July 06, 2016, 08:52:10 AM
So after reading this article and especially the ending:

Quote
One thing is for certain: having made Bitcoin less of a security worry, transparency will now be key in attracting users to new models, placing control of funds and fees in an upfront way in their own hands.

I'm wondering what's stopping people from using bitcoin?

And now I'm talking about people who already aware of bitcoin and how it works but still not using it.

The price is now pretty much stable for more then a year, security issues are out of the question - so why we can't see in 2015 more companies switching to it, especially considering the unstable condition of moden economy?

99% of the people don`t use bitcoin because they don`t understand it.That`s the main reason.

People who understand bitcoin, don`t use it because they don`t know how to earn btc and where

and for what to spend it.That` just my theory.

9220  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin can be used as a method of payment online? on: July 06, 2016, 08:48:47 AM
There I was thinking of bitcoin and it is contained in the title of this post. Is bitcoin can be used as a method of payment online?
Seeing that bitcoin has prices that always change when it is used as a payment method definitely prices will change as well. That would make traders must often change the prices in order not to incur a loss if the price drops. What do you think ? Is bitcoin can be used as a method of payment online?

Use a bitcoin payment gateway. They always update the price, so there is no need to change it manually.

I guess you don`t understand how a btc payment gateway works and that`s why you are asking this OP.
