9221  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: October 01, 2019, 10:43:24 AM
How deep we all think Christine Lagarde is associated with Ripple?

She has mentioned Ripple a few times and been seen with Brad Garlinghouse several times, and now there is mention of the IMF being at Ripple's Swell conference in a few weeks time.

Now she is moving to the ECB, I'm confident she will continue to carry favour for Ripple. Sometimes it just seems too good to be true!
I think that Ripple will provide services to many influential people on this planet. The ripple team has a very strong influence on all world markets.

That is the point that makes Ripple attractive to the fintech world but since the MoneyGram deal did not affect the XRP price thing have become unclear.

How much potential does Ripple have to influence the world market? The price needs to pick up and the price should not be affected by BTC even though it is the base rate. If XRP can hold its own away from BTC then it make inroads to replace Ethereum as number 2 by market capital.

9223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: October 01, 2019, 10:37:51 AM
The topic of Ethereum has become more crowded in recent hours. What's wrong with Ethereum, please tell me. If you think there is something wrong with Ethereum, please tell me which altcoins will replace Ethereum at the second position in the crypto area. Ripple, nope. Bitcoin Cash, nope. TRON, nope. So, which one in your opinion?

I don't see anything strange happening... or rather... I see nothing is happening with Ethereum's developement! But maybe I just haven't done my research so nvm.
But let me remind you that XRP and ETH have been trading the 2nd position a few times now.

Agreed. For many years XRP and ETH have been placed in top 2 and top 3 positions by market capital (CMC) and they have been swapping places several times too.

Any other coin to come along and dislodge them will take a monumental effort and there is guarantee they will be able to do it.
9224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: October 01, 2019, 10:34:38 AM
Do you think its as simple as people just preferring to buy lower priced coins in hopes they are getting the next Dash?? That was the first thing that came to mind for me.

If the price drops does it mean it is an attractive investment? Surely the potential if the price can rise to a certain point has to be taken in to consideration too.

DASH has potential simply because it has a massive vibrant community but an investor still needs to consider buying and selling at the right time to minimise losses and maximise returns.
9225  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice on: October 01, 2019, 10:26:17 AM
No investor would ever prefer this formula. This is essentially dropping our expected returns by 1/3.
That is the part that confuses me, in essence if investor profits drop by an estimated 33% then it should have investors concerned but devans thinks he has the correct formula to take Bustabit/Bustadice further and to be honest it is hard to argue with him because of his excellent track record. How do investors reconcile perfectly held belief and trust in devans along with a drop in profits by 33% - that is something difficult to accept.

Although I'm sure at least a few of them appreciate the reduced variance, there's no doubt that most investors prefer the old commission structure. I anticipate that some investors will choose to divest because of this. As long as the bankroll remains large enough to support the wagers players want to place that's okay.

At 5,000+ BTC and 6,500+ respectively the bankrolls of both bustadice and bustabit are significantly larger than they need to be, which indicates that a higher commission is appropriate. As the bankroll shrinks–hopefully to a more sane size–investing becomes more attractive until eventually an equilibrium is reached again.
I think keeping the equilibrium aside several investors are a little upset they were not advised beforehand or maybe even consulted before the changes were made. I know you made a post explaining your reasons so I hope they would be satisfied with the explanation.

Is it really necessary to say that 5000+ BTC and 6500 BTC are significantly larger bankrolls than they need to be? Another way of looking at it is the size of bankrolls are advantages and are attractive to investors in that others would want to invest as it shows the website and its owner are genuine/trustworthy etc. Maybe a change in format should have been implemented after consulting investors so that would have eased the transition better.
9226  Economy / Exchanges / Re: HitBTC.com - The most advanced cryptocurrency exchange on: October 01, 2019, 10:16:23 AM
am open account in hitbtc
I deposited $ 50 in Hitbtc for testing only
Withdrawal of $ 50 was rejected
Contacted support
Reply to my message..  for security reasons and in accordance with international AML policies.

If that is true then it shows the level of disgrace that HitBTC have fallen to.

The authorities need to consider if there is enough evidence to close down their website.
9227  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How I can build a cryptocurrency exchange ? on: September 30, 2019, 09:49:18 PM
It is not advisable to venture into this if you are asking on the know-how knowledge required to build a successful exchange. Those who have the domain experience still get hacked, how much more someone that want to learn how to do it. It is not a kids play because any loophole will lead to data and capital lost.

The door isn't close for this kind of business just because he don't have proper knowledge on how he can create his own crypto exchange. Most businessmen out here all just needs capital in order to start their own business and opening up a crypto exchange of his own is not any different from it. With the right people employed under him he would have his exchange running in no time. Just remember that creating a crypto exchange is not the tricky part here but it is all about the legality involve around it, @OP if you are interested in this kind of business you must consider first consulting with a lawyer in order to make your operations legal and after that part you can launch what you have developed. You really need to have a big budget for this since you would most likely spend on marketing and advertising your exchange in order for you to have traders in your platform, if you don't have the capital you might want to rethink on creating your own crypto exchange.

The OP has not logged in since he started the thread so the motive behind the question he asked remains unknown.

I agree with you that the door is not closed for this type of business for the reasons you stated but there is no indication why the OP asked the question, maybe he wants an exchange to test the code and use it for his own demo.

9228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ICO COMING SOON: Back To The Future on: September 30, 2019, 04:58:22 PM
You are pretending that you don't know but you know because you raised funds and already went back to 2009. and bought and sent bitcoins to younger you and instructed him to create ICO in 2019. so he can go back to 2009. and give money to younger him.

Problem is, you have bitcoins but you still have to do ICO because if you don't do ICO, you won't be able to create time machine and to go back to 2009. to purchase bitcoins and give them to younger you.

 Grin Grin

I got tongue-tied trying to read aloud what you wrote. A vicious circle going round and round.

It is an amazing paradox, it is a case of carrying out the first step otherwise the second step cannot happen but the reality is the second step happened first so the second step from another perspective is the first step but having said that the second step is called the second step for a reason, primarily because it is not first step. The first step is something completely different from the second step.

It is not too dissimilar from the classic "what came first the chicken or the egg?" but a $100 million ICO should help soften the blow of a younger and confused Jolly me from 2009

People with Linked-In - the guarantee of a successful project?

Absolutely yes. This is a guaranteed-to-make-you-rich scheme.

Think about the possibilities when you use a time machine to go back in time to ensure you get rich.

Sorry please re-read the post, you are mentioning 50% profit commission for Bustabit: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2219681.msg52601119#msg52601119

And in the post above you are mentioning 25% profit commission for Bustabit. Can you please clarify which it is?

Sorry for the confusion. I didn't understand what you meant by "what remains of their share after Bustabit deducts its share".

Both bustadice and bustabit now charge a 50% commission on net profits instead of a 0.25% commission on every wager. That means that bankroll investors have less variance now but also receive less EV than they previously did.

Sorry, "what remains of their share after Bustabit deducts its share" means 50% profit commission. I should have worded the question more appropriately.

When you say "bankroll investors have less variance now but also receive less EV than they previously did", did you run it past investors for their views? May I ask what the primary reasons were for the change? If you already had a working and highly successful formula on your hands alongside an excellent reputation why change the format when it might alienate some investors?

If you have thought this through and believe all investors will prefer this route then I wish you success. I see your reputation and the Bustabit/Bustadice reputation as something quite formidable in crypto gaming circles so hopefully investors will be go with the flow.

Dash convention Europe, now live:

Thank you for the link.

Got to hand it to DASH they are always active and always going out using every avenue possible just to spread the word.

If it were not for the DASH community that are so passionate, maybe DASH would have dropped off the radar long ago.
9232  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice on: September 30, 2019, 07:59:23 AM
Which format worked out better and would give more net income on average for investors: Bustabit taking 0.25% commission on all wagers or what remains of their share after Bustabit deducts its share?

In terms of expected value it doesn't matter whether a 0.25% commission is taken on wagers or a 25% commission is taken on net profits. In both cases investors can expect to earn the same over an extended period of time. However, a 25% commission on profits is more favorable than a 0.25% commission on wagers because it has less variance.

I may have misunderstood your question, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Do you think BTC would end the year at around the $10,000 mark?
9234  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: September 30, 2019, 07:50:28 AM
Current XRP price is: $0.24

I hope as soon as the market prices stop falling all round (BTC was hit hard by losing $2000 in value from over $10,000 to below $8000 in the past 10 days) hopefully XRP will rise.

It seems no matter what Ripple Labs do to when it comes to announcements or acquisitions (such as MoneyGram) nothing helps increase the XRP price. I hope it does get over the $0.40 price as a closing end of year 2019 price. Considering what has happened to the price this year I think that $0.40 price would be acceptable on 1st January 2020.
9235  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice on: September 30, 2019, 07:33:08 AM
As announced, bustadice will start charging the bankroll a 50% commission on future net profits instead of the previous 0.25% commission on all wagers. This will have the immediate effect of increasing the wager and profit limits for players while simultaneously decreasing variance for investors at the the expense of reducing their expected value.

Whenever the bankroll's profit exceeds its previous high point, bustadice will receive 50% of the profits beyond the high point. No commission is collected on profits below the high point. For example, say the bankroll's profit high point is 100 BTC, its current profit is 99 BTC and players combined lose a total of 4 BTC in a round. 3 BTC of that is net profit (exceeding the previous all-time high), so bustadice would receive 1.5 BTC and the remaining 2.5 BTC would go to the bankroll. The commission is charged in real time, so investors can continue to invest and divest whenever they like.

For players, nothing changes other than the wager and profit limits increasing by a third as mentioned above.

Which format worked out better and would give more net income on average for investors: Bustabit taking 0.25% commission on all wagers or what remains of their share after Bustabit deducts its share?

SCAM!!! CEOs never show your faces. DIM every post the same things. DIMCOIN no utility, DIM token no utility. They created coins only to get our money. Scammers mother fuckers.

Very difficult to argue with your point.

This is what scammers do to avoid legal action, they claim they are working hard on the project but are doing nothing of the sort. They periodically release images and make posts just to show they are busy...

Pathetic
9237  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Ethereum: Welcome to the Beginning on: September 30, 2019, 07:24:38 AM
I look forward to the days when I believed so much in the massive growth of EThereum. The days when I HOLD Ethereum from 15 USD/token to 100USD/token. Ethereum ecosystem deserves a professional review and non-monopolization of the ideology by the visioneer. This crypto-asset still have a good space for growth far beyond 1000 USD/Eth.  And with consistency and efficient development, it will get to it proposed destination

Think about it, if ETH was purchased at $1 years ago for example and then it hit $100 you can make a lot of profit out of it by buying at loq prices but if you buy at $15 or $100 then you would have to invest heavily to buy enough before you can make a decent profit.

Those that purchased at the ICO price or early from exchanges after the ICO ended and then held on to them without getting tempted to sell at $10, $20 $50, $100 milestones must be very happy with their investment.

But as you said, there ain't much good inside those pages. I opened 5 of the pages of that thread, and 4 of them were filled with a single emoticon in each and every post. "Single emoticon" (neither a couple of emoticons nor any letter beyond that).

Yeah. I think that one at least long ago degenerated into nothing but point scoring. I wonder how many here have read this entire thread. I arrived six or so months after its birth and must have read not far off everything since then. Don't think I've ever gone from the start. I'll save that for when I'm paralysed from the nose down with little else to do.

Back to this thread, it will take some beating to have a longer thread in this forum.

Surprising the other ones here that are large.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats

Never been in any of them other than this.

The 6th biggest, the NXT one, has been dead for five and half years.

Thank you. That link gives excellent insight in to the forum structure. Imagine checking statistics from most viewed threads to the user with most posts and a whole lot of other things.

Got to say that DASH thread surprised me by being second place in both Top 10 Topics (by Replies) and Top 10 Topics (by Views)

Forget this forum; I think this is the longest thread on the internet.

It's a big un but there are bigger. Like this one - https://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/chatterbox/mpt-the-official-million-page-thread-original/t.1488895/

I can't imagine there are all that many that are larger. It's likely many of the other competitors are gibberish rather than stunningly erudite like this one.

Now that is a massive thread at gaiaonline but it is full of jargon and is only being pumped for the sake of it. It seems a maximum of 10 posts are allowed there but that is some achievement even though it is full of rubbish.

Back to this thread, it will take some beating to have a longer thread in this forum.
