9221  Other / Meta / Re: Gambling is okay,but selling(or buying) followers is not(neg trust worthy)? on: September 19, 2018, 12:48:08 PM
I think selling and buying followers are not trusted actions since in the end who buy followers does it to get more stacks on bounties.
So in my opinion this activity must be discouraged. I do not know if with DT red tag or not, this is not responsibility.
Imagine a case in which a user uses 10 accounts with 10,000 followers bought, the result is an undeserving division of the stacks.
9222  Other / Meta / Re: Is the new rule (1 Merit for Jr. Member) already reducing spam? on: September 19, 2018, 10:22:19 AM
Are you able to calculate how many jr.members were born from yesterday to today and from who were born?
For example, if a person gave the birth to 10 or 20 or 30 Jr.Members can starts to be suspicious!
This is a really hard work and a full time job right here. I cannot do like this and definitely I rather go home early and be with my kids and my wife.

~

LOL. What are you talking about. Nobody does it by hand.
It is a matter of creating a script and using "snapshots" calculations from differences and some otputs, which is feasible for those with skills in this field. Nobody reads the profiles one by one manually. Once the script it's done is just press one botton.
9223  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 18, 2018, 11:43:10 PM
What do you think, who these wonderful nicknames? Of course this is all new Jr. Members. Up 48 accounts!  Cheesy
Hero who did it, already red - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=218947
But most likely it was done in farm. I also found an explicit link between some of these accounts (

This is what I said few posts ago, 1 point is good but not enough since high ranks has a lot of merit and sells/sends to alts with no problem and that's why maybe 5 merit are better than 1 for Jr.Member.
9224  Other / Meta / Re: Downgraded to Newbie? on: September 18, 2018, 10:43:33 PM
How come I was downgraded to Newbie? My ANN lost all IMages and I cant post images no longer.

If you have one ANN on the forum you can consider buying a copper member
Newbies can now pay a small fee to enable images

9227  Other / Meta / The case of one account with no posts and 250 merit on: September 18, 2018, 05:33:37 PM
I was reading the forum and I came across this account romaleshc and I immediately noticed the fact that he had 250 merit and that he only had the rank of junior member.
After careful investigation I can assume the account has been sold as we can see here https://bpip.org/profile.aspx?p=romaleshc.

Is there any tool to see the old post history of some people on the forum even if it is deleted?
Probably this account has been sold as a senior member (with all posts deleted), he needs just to spam around the forum to get the rank since he already has the merit.

@LoyceV can you check on scapped old posts?
9228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Never trust to ico trackers on: September 17, 2018, 10:50:31 PM
In this market you can't trust nobody, in the past those "experts websites" put high ratings for some ICO, and guess what? After the end of the ICO a scam exit happend.
I remember this one https://icobench.com/ico/denaro/ratings#ratings, but happened for many others ICOs.
9229  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 10:05:35 PM
Could we maybe stop newbies from starting new topics as well? Meta is unusable right now.

Edit:

That won't happen, as Theymos wants newbies to still be able to come here and use the forum. Some come here seeking technical advice/troubleshooting and would need the ability to create a topic.

Clarification: I meant just in the Meta board. Even if just for a couple of weeks until this all settles down. Agree it won't happen, but ugh, I dread to think how many times I'm going to rage-quit in the next few weeks.  Grin

This is also normal.
Where I live we say "to give time to time". Everything will soon be resolved and spam will decrease automatically, as happened months ago when the system of merit was introduced for the first time.

They are on Denial Phase right now.
9230  Other / Meta / Re: 23% more income in bounties - thanks to the new JR member requirements on: September 17, 2018, 10:01:55 PM
I think your stats are unfortunately overestimated.
I can assume that many of the junior members are multiaccounts and many of them will have no trouble getting through / passing / buying 1 merit from someone.
I hope that the requirement is increased soon to five and it will be not so punishing for good people because from how I'm reading today in the meta section the newbies who are posting and actually have some decent posts in their old history have already ranks again thank to sources and this prove that it is not so difficult to get the minimum necessary for the new rank for good posters.

9232  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: The death of Ethereum is inevitable? Can ETH on the price of $100? on: September 17, 2018, 06:27:23 PM
If etherum will be used only to pay fees for erc tokens it can die, this is my idea. I don't think it will happen but is a fear of mine.
The low price can be justified by the time of the market, but while the bitcoin has dropped by 66%, ethereum has fallen by more than 80% we will see what happens in the end of the year which is usually a moment of high volumes.

I gave up trying to earn merits. Took me 1 full day of work to make a very nice guide and i didn't received not even 1 thanks. a thanks! not a merit. a thanks!

I saw that someone gave you some merit at the end so your post was good, unfortunately you posted in a section of the forum with little visibility where most of the people in the forum don't ever read for obvious reasons, gambling is not seen well by many people.
9234  Other / Meta / Re: Merits shouldn't be an individual's arbitrary decision on: September 17, 2018, 03:24:10 PM
Don't worry, it's not an individual decision. About 17,000 users have collectively decided not to give you any Merit.

9235  Other / Meta / Re: bounty BOTs on Bitcointalk on: September 17, 2018, 03:05:24 PM
Any official statement here? It would be very satisfying to ban and remove high rank abusers using this method.
9236  Other / Meta / Re: Enhanced newbie restrictions & requirements on: September 17, 2018, 03:00:04 PM
Funny how when merit was first introduced who was legendary remained legendary.
But now Jr. Members downgrade to Newbie.
Fair.  Roll Eyes

It's not fair, and I hope it will change somehow atleast for the multiaccounts.
But let's be honest the most of people are complaining right now are probably the one who has a lot of multiaccounts for abusing or 99% of their post as bounty reports.
I was Jr. when the merit was born, find your "field" and use it, if you do a great job you will merited.
9237  Other / Meta / Re: Before you give merit to a newly-demoted newbie... on: September 17, 2018, 01:19:28 PM
Agree read carefull the post history of users, and look even if they copy paste what they wrote, now finally we have a small but powerfull tool don't ruin it on day 1.

I got made a merit source this morning, which was a bit of a surprise since I hadn't ever applied to be one and have stated multiple times that I didn't want to be one.  However, since Theymos has seen fit to saddle me with the responsibility, I'll accept it and take it seriously.

Congrats, you are the best users here! Active and cares about the community!
9238  Local / Italiano (Italian) / Re: [INFO] +MERIT.

On average, merit sources(now) have less sMerit compared to what the average was prior to the upgrade/additions:

19,500/84 sources= 232.14 sMerits
23,045/120 sources= 192.04 sMerits
That makes sense: some of the old sources have very high amounts, but most send much less than the average. In the last 30 days:
