9241  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alvarez vs Jacobs on: April 24, 2019, 07:41:49 AM
There's a lot of hype surrounding this fight. Daniel Jacobs also fought GGG in 2017 and barely losing 115-112, 115-112, 114-113. GGG dropped Jacobs though in the early rounds and the GGG controlled most of the fight. So I'm seeing the fight will end the same. But we all know that Alvarez is a slow started, in which I think Jacobs should take advantage of it he wants to fight this fight. Canelo in my book by 3 or 4 rounds ahead at the end of the bell.
9242  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling with your Parents on: April 23, 2019, 06:39:11 PM
.. snip ..

As parents, we really don't want to see our kids getting involved in gambling. But if our environment tends to lean on to gambling whether as source of income or just to bond with families or just simply to have some fun then it's hard to control what our kids will do in the future. For me, don't let our kids learn how to gamble, sooner or later when they grow up, there's a big chance that it may lead to something that they are going to regret in the future, imho.
9243  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Japan to Provide G20 With Solution for Crypto Regulation on: April 23, 2019, 06:16:57 PM
Those solutions are not new, in my opinion, and it only boils down that government should be really involved and put everything under their control, for which is goes against the premise of decentralisation. Anyways let's see if this framework could led into something. The downside of this is that the G20 is thinking to put up a 'universal regulatory body', at least that's what I interpret during their last meeting last year.
9244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / You Can Now Shop With Bitcoin on Amazon Using Lightning on: April 23, 2019, 03:18:31 AM
You Can Now Shop With Bitcoin on Amazon Using Lightning

Quote
Bitcoin spenders can now use the lightning network to shop at e-commerce sites like Amazon.

Crypto payment processing startup Moon announced today that any lightning-enabled wallet can now also be used through Moon’s browser extension. Before this lightning feature, roughly 250 beta users already used Moon to spend crypto on e-commerce sites by connecting the browser extension to exchange accounts like Coinbase.

To be clear, Amazon itself never touches bitcoin. Kruger declined to specify which traditional financial institutions are helping convert the bitcoin to fiat on the backend so that Amazon merchants actually receive fiat currency for their wares. However, Kruger added that by 2020 the lightning-enabled feature should work on almost any e-commerce site, regardless of whether that platform accepts bitcoin directly.

“There’s no direct merchant integration,” Kruger said, clarifying that Moon also manages payment channels and merely offers a simple interface for sending payments.

What are you thoughts about this one? Remember you have to download your browser's extension and then connects your wallet. And this what worry me most. As this could be another potential loopholes that hackers can exploit. And I assume that the fee's here will be high as well.

I also heard negative press about the people behind this company. So this is not an endorsement of any kind. Just wanted to brought this to the community. Always used your common sense.  Grin

Isn't it we have similar threads here? Would you bet on an insect fight?. I guess the OP can close this thread and continue the discussions on the other thread.
9246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Airdrop is more profitable than Social Media Bounty ? on: April 21, 2019, 02:02:31 PM
Indeed the airdop task is more easy than social media, but now the both don't value so much, and in past yes DeepOnion airdrop with signature campaign value something and most of users get a good profit.

But that was so 2017, after that we really see airdrops not worth anymore. I guess it was due to the bear market or it was saturated already and scammers find it's way in airdrops that's why it's not worth anymore. I haven't joined anything like airdrop or social media bounty though, so I can't tell which one is profitable. One thing I've noticed is that most of the project is asking KYC, are you willing to send your data for just a peanuts?
9247  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price will hit $1 million in 2020 because of mathematics: John McAfee on: April 21, 2019, 01:19:42 PM
This whole John McAfee prediction is getting out of hand already. We are still far from 2020, we should only open up a thread and have discussions if this is year 2020. No need to get this egoistic person some attention because that's what he wanted.

Trump security adviser unveils new U.S. sanctions to pressure Cuba, Venezuela

Quote
MIAMI (Reuters) - U.S. national security adviser John Bolton announced a series of new sanctions against Cuba and Venezuela on Wednesday as the Trump administration sought to boost pressure on Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro and the countries that support him.

https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-politics-bolton/trump-security-adviser-bolton-unveils-new-u-s-sanctions-to-pressure-cuba-idUSKCN1RT29X

Do you think that the pressure on Maduro will be that effective? And what does it mean to Venezuelans who's into bitcoin already? Will this sanctions be another use case how bitcoin is really going to be used a medium of exchange?

Last February I posted this one Bitcoin Trading In Venezuela Keeps Setting New Records and it seems this trend will continue.

9249  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Life Cycle of a Transaction - Andreas A. on: April 21, 2019, 11:13:17 AM
I got to understand how some basic things work on bitcoin and blockchain, I have come to understand that bitcoin will replace fiat in the future.

I haven't been following Andreas too closely lately, but from what I have seen so far, he seems rather realistic and self aware enough to understand that Bitcoin isn't something that will replace banks and fiat.

That is true. He is a bitcoin maximalist but I don't think he is into the idea of replacing banks and fiat system.

Andreas is indeed one of the most valuable people in the cryptocurrencies space community, his vision and in-depth understanding of cryptocurrency, in general, are tremendous. That makes him clearly own the space and has the ability to make an informative guide toward beginners. Personally, I'd see him as a resource to learn and to spread Bitcoin understanding using his approach in the presentation to teach mainstream.

And that is why we really need to spread our love for this guy because he's been in the crypto ecosystem for so long but I will assume that newbies really don't know who he was. We need more people like him, sadly the likes of John McAfee or CW is really taking the spotlight from this guy.

9250  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: April 21, 2019, 10:52:19 AM

Will Utah Jazz win in the game 4? Thoughts?

That's a big question, game 3 was suppose to be the best time to win because when a team is 0-3, the chances of winning the series is very low.
If the Jazz will win game 4, Rockets will make sure they will end the series in 5 and will celebrate at home.

I do agree with the - having a three 0-3 series are very low chances of winning the series but in this case, I see if Utah Jazz can win their game 4-5 against Rockets they will also win the 6-7 games.

They can't even with the games with they have the chances last night. It's was an ugly match that they can really won, however, they didn't so I doubt that they can win even one game.

This will be the greatest series comeback for Utah Jazz. Jazz need a little bet push to defeat this overrated MVP James Harden.

We have witnessed one of the best scorers in the last 20 years misses a lot of shot, so I will give the Jazz some credit, but it was not enough. If you play good defense but if the team doesn't or can't score then everything just evens up. James was also in foul trouble, but coach Mike was not bother because the Jazz is not shooting very well as well and they are just like 4 or 6 points down. They can easily make it up which they did.
9251  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Khan on: April 21, 2019, 10:23:50 AM
And here are the results:

Crawford vs Khan- Crawford TKO in 6th
Stevenson vs. Diaz - Stevenson UD (100-90, 99-91, 98-92)
Lopez vs. Tatli - fifth-round TKO
Verdejo vs.  Vasquez - UD (97-93, 97-93, 98-92)

Uneventful fight. Khan chooses a way out after that incidental low blow. Too much for Khan having the balls to fight the best, Lol. He literally quit and doesn't want to continue and it's just a matter of time before he will be KO.

9253  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Forex Trading or Binary Option? on: April 20, 2019, 05:40:51 PM
I've already tried Binary trading but I lose my money in just an hour.
What kind of trading are you in? And what would you prefer?

Binary Options is similar to gambling as others have pointed out, that's why you are losing money that fast, risk is high. Used to do forex before, but I prefer crypto trading though. Yes there is risk by there's a lot of ways to minimised it, specially having a good exit plan. Of course you are in a crypto community so obviously majority will say that crypto trading is the best option.
9254  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: April 20, 2019, 05:17:49 PM
OKC was able to withstand Portland's comeback in the third and prove that they are not going to be sweep by Lillard and CJ as they win game 3, 120-108. Lillard exploded for 25 points in the 3rd quarter alone,  and CJ McCollum made a 3 to tie the score 89-89, but that is the closest that they can get as they forced turnover after turnover. Like others have been expecting this is an interesting match, specially Westbrook vs Lillard.
9255  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: How long should I wait for an exchange to refund me? on: April 19, 2019, 07:47:40 AM
You post this on Scam Accusations board, how can you accused someone if you are not dropping any names here? How can the community help you if we don't have any idea what exchanges are you talkin' about? So it's better if you could name the exchange, because it's really looks shady, to be honest.
9256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Life Cycle of a Transaction - Andreas A. on: April 19, 2019, 07:25:08 AM
I find a very interesting and somewhat a simply explanation from the point of sending transaction from our wallet to getting confirmed in the blockchain. I know that majority has somewhat an idea already specially if you have been in the crypto for long. But for beginners I think this is a good explanation. And for those experts, maybe you can confirmed or up something to what has Andreas says here:  Grin

9257  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Season on: April 19, 2019, 06:57:35 AM
Game 3 results between Warriors and Clippers: Warriors 132 - Clippers 105, GSW lead 2-1. So much for Durant being shutdown by Beverley as he exploded with 38 points.

Spurs win as well 118-110 to lead Denver 2-1 as well. Derrick White proves to be the game changer as he goes to score a career high 36 points, 5 rebounds with 5 assists.

No Joel Embiid? No problem, as Ben Simmons put on a show with postseason career-high 31 points, together with 4, rebounds 9 assists and 3 blocks defeating the Brooklyn Nets 131-115 and also lead the series with 2-1.
9258  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Crawford vs Khan on: April 19, 2019, 06:36:44 AM
Here is the undercard:

  • Shakur Stevenson vs. Christopher Diaz, 10 rounds, featherweights
  • Teofimo Lopez vs. Edis Tatli, 10 rounds, lightweights
  • Felix Verdejo vs. Bryan Vasquez, 10 rounds, lightweights
  • Carlos Adames vs. Frank Galarza, 10 rounds, junior middleweights

There is a lot of hype around Teofimo Lopez. He's been bad mouthing Loma lately, so I'm sure a impressive win might set up a clash with Loma.

Stevenson has some controversy as well, as there was a recent video who surfaces about a street brawl in which the professional boxer is involved.

I wanted to se if Verdejo is back, there's a lot of hype around this kid, unfortunately after a motor accident in 2016 and defeat to Lopez 2018 the hype has died down. But let's see if he can go back and be the old "El Diamante".
9259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fun stuff to do with bitcoin? on: April 19, 2019, 06:19:28 AM
I remember the first years of bitcoin's life. There were so many things to do and learn: mining, faucets, wallets, blockchain visualizations, etc.

Nowadays the bitcoin world is pretty boring: mining is for people with deep pockets, faucets don't exist anymore, wallets are getting centralized by big corporations (blockchain.com, coinbase, etc.).

I see your point, but remember everything is evolving, so it's either you accept it or not. There are still faucets as far as I know, but it's not that profitable.

Is there anything fun left to do with bitcoin, any specific application, website, app, anything that will make bitcoin fun and interesting again? Otherwise I just keep on holding and that's it.

Bitcoin online gambling?  Grin. I see some bitcoin puzzle around the forum, but as far as it's legitimacy, that's another question. If you are looking for fun then why not build a website of your own and have your 'fun idea' put into reality?
9260  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: For those bounty hunters who can hardly relate (Part 2) on: April 18, 2019, 08:53:59 AM
It's really heartbreaking with the scenario, a lesson for us to be able to look ahead, forget and leave useless shitcoin.
Think positive for the future and find a quality project with a responsible team.

That's why I only join on Signature Campaign that pays BTC, joining on some campaigns that no guarantee if it become successful or not is worst than riding a roller coaster. you will not now the project has failed until so many months of waiting and when finally you see that they listed on exchanges the cost of thousands of coins in your wallet is only $2.

Never joined bounties during my stay in this forum, I usually like signature campaigns, at least your hard work is getting paid weekly. Unlike bounties wherein it's a gamble and you don't know when the coins are going to be listed and when are bounties gonna pay you.

As OP has put it, 2018 up to present, it's hard to earn big in bounties because you don't know when you are getting paid, and when you are paid, what will be the price of each token once listed. I heard that bounty hunters usually dump the coins once it get listed, so if you are late then you will just be receiving dust amounts for all the months of hard work.
