Miners are getting relocated someplace.

If we end around -4% to -5% this period

and follow with +2% to +4% next period.

I would think we would start price rally.
9262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No news about dead 3090 yet or am I wrong? on: July 10, 2021, 12:31:10 PM
Guys since all this while I've been trying to figure out how good rtx3090 is for mining but what worries me is the memory temp and yet many people are using 3090 all this while, the question is if 3090 is bad alreday for mining many would have talked about dead RTX3090

Is there any news about dead RTX3090??
Wait a little more. If miners will not take care about that high temperatures there will be lots of dead rtx 3080-3090 cards. It will not die in 2-3days. it will depend on how high they are running. Time will show.

yep which is why mine are at 285 watts not 315

and it is why my ram clocks are under the 2100 max.

I do mine at 1850

Lots of people don't understand the math of mining.  Mining is not a sprint it is back to back  to back marathons.

If my cards break it is the surest way to lose out.

At the moment I have 60-70 cards

amd 5000 series
amd 6000 series
nivida 3000 series

I have had 3 issues on the 60-70 cards

1 5700 power color
1 5500 gigabyte  they were in the same 2 card rig in an office they simply died I suspect a mobo issue. I got rma service on the 2 of them

1 msi 5600 mech card a dead fan.

These cards have been purchased since April 2020 Most in fall of 2020

the nvida 3000 in winter 2020/2021

No card is clocked stupidly.

a stupid clock would be clocking my 3090 cards at 320 watts and 2100 ram setting fans to 90%

I have been using gpus since 2012
I rather never push them as they last longer.
9263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: No news about dead 3090 yet or am I wrong? on: July 10, 2021, 04:37:17 AM
I use simplemining.com free download to a usb stick.  2 bucks a rig  each month.

I get world wide access to the rigs I have and can clock to various settings.

This evga is very good for a medium clock at lower watts.

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3987-KR

I paid about 2100 for each of the two total of 4200

The one below is on the way I paid 2250 for it. I was on the waiting list at evga for 5 1/2 months.

https://www.evga.com/products/product.aspx?pn=24G-P5-3998-KR

These cards are more premium and I got all at retail or try close to retail.

These all do better then the shitty ones known to run hot and drop hash rates.

My two cards have mined for 5+6 months = 5.5 say 165 days   say 9 cents an mh or

9 x 226 = 20 bucks a day = 3300 earned back maybe spent 530 in power or

3300-530 = 2770

4200- 2770 = 1430 in the hole

no longer earns that 9 cents an mh it has dropped to 6 cents.  so

6 x 226 = 13.56 - 3.20 = 10.36 so 143 more days to breakeven. and I got them at msrp

Buddy acts as a spacing for my posts nice!!!

You know what would be nice we sky rocket from 33800 to 67600 this weekend.

I could sell 1/2 a btc and pay off the new car.
9265  Economy / Speculation / Re: Automated posting on: July 10, 2021, 03:24:29 AM

Well that's much more practical than a Lambo.  You can't fit hardly any bitcoin miners in a Lambo!

They don't hodl many hookers either (or so I've heard...)

Hookers are not for me. I actually like my wife.

Boring

my wife is a wonderment.

My life with her is far from boring.

back to the flat numbers of 32-35k.

I see diff shift we were as low as -12% this jump we have moved to -8%

I think it means gear has started to relocate it is an important trend for BTC

I hope to see it shift closer to -5%

Yeah only viabtc seems fully shut down.

And the diff has shifted just a bit towards -8 or -9 vs -9 or -10%

Someone is buying quite a bit of hashpower, which of course drives the price up.

- Take a break until the one has gone
- Cost up and continue with shortened runtime

I would be for short break, What do you think?

I vote for the break

Yeah always try to get it cheaply.  It means more shares which means more of a chance to win.

Good luck.
9272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: What will scrypt earnings look like after the L7 is released? on: July 09, 2021, 12:52:51 PM

Dirt on the heatsinks and them selling it as new.. damn that's not very honest.. Is that just with Bitmain or also with WhatsMiner etc.?
Also, do you know how many of these units are being produced? Like tens of thousands? hundreds of thousands? or is there some place I can find this out?

Thanks for the information btw, really appreciate it.

This was years ago with I think the S7. I think there were a few members here who got their units and looked inside and they were full of dirt. When inquired about it, they just said its very dirty warehouse in China.

One way we could track the Bitmain sales was basically by looking at their BTC payment address, you could easily see how many units people ordered by the amount of BTC spent. I think phil used to track this back in the day. No idea if they still do it like that. Most likely each payment has a unique address these days. And many people can pay by fiat which might not be on the blockchain. So impossible to get the unit numbers. They will never release this info.

Yeah was easy to see when they accepted btc you could look at a btc addy you paid them in and follow it backwards they used to have like 4 addresses with 5000-30000 btc in them

They were holding 100,000 plus btc even when coins were at 15k in 2017

They are more clever now and who know how much they took in via bank transfer.  Or bag of cash money payments.

They sold old gear now and then.  But the biggest con they do is cloud mining.

I have written many posts of what they can do via cloud mining. Including shutting done 405 of the btc gear in the world .  while maintaining a 17 eh farm outside china.

this would mean:

 17000 x 0.0047 = 80 coins  daily when diff was 25.03
 17000 x 0.0090 = 153 coins daily with the current diff of 14.3

I can prove hash is shut down including all of viabtc's cloud mining which was done in partnership with bitmain.
I can prove bitmain said they have 10% of the world hash when they claimed it the worlds hash was 170eh so 17eh

I do not know how much is outside china.
But they were building a large farm in Texas (now sure if it was done)

Times are very interesting but

I have a few extra fans for safety.

I have 2 evga ftw3 cards. and 1 3060 ti fe card on same rig

9275  Other / Serious discussion / Re: How much money is enough money? on: July 09, 2021, 01:16:43 AM
Money can never be enough for human being because human wants and needs are insatiable, and the desire to satisfy them makes people crave for more of it.

You can speak for yourself but not others.

Many people do not have insatiable needs and wants.

For me at 64 I rather have the time than the money.

I know how I spend.

I know 10 million would be far more than I want or need since my time left is very likely to be under 35 years.

In fact 3 or 4 million tax free does the trick. But as I said I rather be poorer with less money and 35 years old.
9276  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: July 09, 2021, 01:10:14 AM
buddy holding the wood at 32.4k+

and the diff has shifted upwards a bit which may be a good thing.
9277  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 2021, time for a new general & diff speculation thread... on: July 08, 2021, 11:34:44 PM
Well we are dropping once again so far -10% I predicted a -5% drop.

I am hoping that we cease the dropping and slowly rise up next jump which should be in 10 days or so.

Why the desire for a difficulty increase? Seems counter-intuitive to me (from a miner point of view).

sure it does but price can chase after the diff.

So a -10% may get us under 30k

And another -10% may get us back to 25k

Now If you look at the drop from 64k to 32k and 25.04 to 14.3.     I as an out of china miner have close to no negative effects with those numbers.

Slowly going back to a diff of 16t then 18t would hopefully raise price over 40k.

And dropping more to 12 diff and then 10 diff would likely panic more.

Than rising slowly to  15t -16t -17t -18t-19t

The public's perception of the game has meaning .

I think drops to 12-10-8 = fud and large price drops

I think jumps to 15-16-17-19 = less fun and price lifting

Mind you I never would have thought we would see drops to 14t

But moron musk an his twitter rants damaged public perception and now mining uses far far far less power so he look more like the moron he is.
