9261  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-1-22]New Zealand: Binance Finally Halts Transactions of Funds Stolen in Ha on: January 25, 2019, 03:41:36 AM
How big is the chance that Cryptopia founders were exit scamming? Exit scams appear to occur again periodically among ICOs and some exchanges during a bear market.

Should we expect more of it hehehe?

We can't discount that possibility. At the back of our minds it might be very well a exit scam pulled by those behind this exchange. So I hope that the authorities will really find out what really happens, if its a hack or a inside job. Because lots of traders lost money big time and we understand their frustrations. Cryptopia has a lot of explaining to do and up to this day I haven't heard any official statement from them regarding restitution.
9262  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reversal of Bear Market? on: January 25, 2019, 03:25:32 AM
No sign of bear market eding now, still the market swings and swings laet see this new year may change the condition or not!

The bear still control this market and I'm sure that they will hold as long as they can, so its really hard to see when this all gonna end.

For now we have to concentrate on only the long term investments if you are willing to make money from crypto investments.

There's still money to make even if this bear market. Obviously, short day speculators are taking advantage of this situation and taking profits in every prices swings. But there's also people buying cheap bitcoins and HODL for the next 2 years, still win-win to us.
9263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cryptocurrency has come to stay on: January 25, 2019, 02:54:25 AM
There is no gainsaying that cryptocurrency is one of the strongest investment platform in the digital world.
Despite all the agitations, media attacks, government attacks and attacks from groups and individuals, yet it is still going.
If cryptocurrency will end, it ought to have ended long before now and would not have survive to see year 2019.

Correct, we even celebrated bitcoin's 10th anniversary, and its the face of crypto,we should expect that crypto will go on the next 10 years or more, those creating negativity about crypto will continue to attack but they know that they can't win in the end.

One of the strongest points of cryptocurrency, apart from the technology, is the community.
Instead of the community reducing, it is increasing, because more people are becoming aware of cryptocurrency allover the world. Even if some seem to have taken a break, more people are being added.

And even if there's a lot of discussions and dis-agreement, community will continue to grow and there's no stopping it. As I have said in the previous thread, when I joined this community its least than a million and not it grows to more than 2 million, evident that crypto will live and prosper. You just have to wait till the next bull run and I'm sure that number will double as well.
9264  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 25, 2019, 02:12:05 AM
Damn, after Paul George and Gordon Hayward injuries now major injury again happened in Pacers roster Victor Oladipo: https://www.facebook.com/kamotegamingph/videos/1985114361544446/
I didn't watch the whole video you shared, I hate seeing that kind of serious injury, it could be a career ending but I hope he will recover like George and Hayward. Today, we have an advance medication so I guess he will be alright, but I still cannot watch it,  Cry Cry Cry Cry

NBA is not entertaining with these kind of injuries but it's a physical game so we can never discount the possibility.

Me too, I haven't seen both George and Hayward's fall, I don't know I got chills or something. I play basketball maybe that's why I hate to see players got injured like that. Well, besides the two, DRose already proved that anyone can get over those so called career injuries and still go and play at high level basketball. So we hope that Vic can get back next season and wish him the best.
9265  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 13 celebrities who back cryptocurrency and may own millions in bitcoin on: January 25, 2019, 01:49:00 AM
The quote of Gates supporting Bitcoin is from 5 years ago. His attitude is much different now and I could bet he's not buying. He's an environmentalist and a KYC supporter so Bitcoin using a lot of energy and being used to by hackers is exactly what Gates hates. Listen to his old quotes about the Internet and computers and you'll see that he's a fool. Not a big loss for crypto.

I was about to say this. Bill Gates has changed his tune already so the list should be updated as well. There's also Floyd in the list, who's involved in Centra ICO, just saying. Anyways, I'm sure that threre's a lot of celebrities that might be in bitcoin but chooses to stay silent or hidden themselves from the public. You can even add John McAfee on the list, for all we know. Maybe those celebrities are hedging and going crypto to diversify their portfolio, just like casuals like us.
9266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will SEC approve BITCOIN ETF ? on: January 24, 2019, 01:51:03 PM
today again ETF is cancel but the fact is that bitcoin on this news did not go to the bottom to update the minimum
To be honest, I am quite surprised that the price of bitcoin did not drop by a huge amount after the bitcoin ETF proposal submitted by VanEck and SolidX was withdrawn. Hopefully we will not see the price of bitcoin dropping in the next few days as I am afraid it will cause another waves of panic selling on the crypto-currencies trading market.

Maybe there's a lot of people haven't heard the news yet, or just the people grow tired of this whole Bitcoin ETF and get out of the market when the price plummets to its all time low.

So let's see in the next couple of days once the news sinks in. Everyone was hoping for a positive outcome and even calling it the catalyst for the next bull run. But its not the end of the road, as mentioned it was just a withdrawal and proposals will be submitted when the dust settled in the following months.
9267  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Ever stopped or removed from casino on: January 24, 2019, 01:22:28 PM
Kindly share your experience if you ever being faced situation where either you where not allowed to enter the casinos due to either improper attire, age verification issue etc.  Also anytime till now have you being removed from the casinos? It could be due to any of reasons e.g - Misbehaving or fighting, getting high and creating ruckus, caught cheating etc.

Share your true experience if you ever had to face any such situations or related to it any incident that occurred with you.

I was travelling abroad and happen to visit casinos but i was in flip flops and as per the rules a proper attire was must. I was not being allowed inspite of me explaining I cam from abroad and will be leaving tonight and was not aware of such policy etc. But they where strict with the rules and I had to return back form their.

It happened to me only once. There are two casinos near my place so I was randomly the one of it for my gambling entertainment. After some losses, I decided to visit the other casino that was near me. But the age criteria was different there and you had to be older in order to enter the casino. Given that, I was stopped and they didn't let me in.

Not a fighting example that you maybe wanted to read but this was my case!

Very interesting. I thought that every casino in a country has the same age restriction, so I was quite surprise that you were able to enter the first casino you visited but not the second one.

I haven't stopped at the entrance though, maybe I'm just too late to be asked for ID, lmao. But I have witnessed alone, usually they are foreigners though, I don't know maybe they think that they can do anything here, but they are all wrong.
9268  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Do you think "crappy ICO's" chased a lot of people away from this forum? on: January 24, 2019, 03:12:22 AM
Last time I checked the number of users in this community is: 2517721. When I joined this community in early 2017, it was just close to a million so it more than doubled ever since. So it clearly debunked the myth that "crappy ICO chased a lot of people away from this forum".
9269  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading results with Mycryptobot on: January 24, 2019, 03:01:07 AM
Interesting, How much is the initial capital though? You just trading bitcoins only? Sorry for the noob questions as I'm aiming to get my hands dirty again this year and I'm looking for bots as of today or even weighing my options in the next couple of months to buy a bot.
9270  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will SEC approve BITCOIN ETF ? on: January 24, 2019, 02:24:25 AM
Does anyone read the news? Van Eck has already pulled out their application and withdrawn everything because of the ongoing partial shutdown of the US government.

https://www.sec.gov/rules/sro/cboebzx/2019/34-84988.pdf

Go to 11:00 minute mark and listen to Van Eck:

https://www.cnbc.com/video/2019/01/23/etf-edge-show-january-23-2019.html

But it doesn't mean that they won't file it again though, he just said he withdrawn because of the current drama in US government but he is still in contact with the regulators and trying to iron out everything to get themselves a higher chance of approval, eventually, so its not over yet.
9271  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 24, 2019, 01:55:09 AM

Surely they would dominate the Lakers, without a legitimate pointguard they certainly lose at a powerhouse team. Also the odds of betting is too high, starting at a +10 for the Lakers means everybody expect the warriors to win the game.

TBH, without LBJ and Rondo, Lakers are really struggling, now that Ball is also out too. Kuzma and Ingram are still young to carry this team though, kodus, to their efforts as they stood out to be the leaders of the team. On the other side, Klay did relatively do most of the damage in this game, shooting first 10 attempts beyond the arc with 10-11 3PFG%, he's literally on fire. What more could they do if Curry did the same (though he has an off shooting 3-12FG, 2-10 in 3pt line) but still he'd able to dish out 12 ast in this game plus a ticket to Shaqtin.

Yeah, let's wait for the Shaqtin a fool.  Grin

Klay was on fire that night, if Kerr didn't replaced him he could have made more three's and break another record. But it's a good move to rest the first five and let his bench warmers play since they have taken the lead anyways.

As for the Lakers, they will keep on struggling without their leader and I don't see Kuzma or Ingram can carry the team at this point. They are now at the 9th spot and unless Bron comes back, its going to be a struggle just to keep them on the 8th spot for now.
9272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The best airdrop ever ! on: January 23, 2019, 05:04:55 AM
South Korean exchange CoinZest mistakenly gives away $5.3 million worth of crypto
https://news.bitcoin.com/airdrop-korean-exchange-send-btc/
i wonder if coinzest can handle this loss. after all, it is a lot of money and that must first be earned. such a loss is almost as tragic as a hack.

Yeah, however, I believed that the exchange has deep pocket for all we know. Putting up a exchange needs a lot of capital although this is a big blow for them and specially for their investors behind, I'm sure they're already thinking of mitigating the loss.

It's a big money of course, but they need to move forward and don't let this hinder their goals to make more money in this business.
9273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Warning to torrent downloaders on: January 23, 2019, 04:41:29 AM
Yes, I read this news couple of days ago and I'm not surprised though, this crypto currency thingy has been out of proportions and there are people who take advantage of it to steal someone's coin in any method they can think of.

Another moral lesson here: Don't download anything just for the sake of getting it free. You just don't know how much damage it can inflict to you in the future.
9274  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Pacquiao Vs Mayweather 2 on: January 23, 2019, 04:20:55 AM
They will fight. The promoters also did the same chance encounter in an NBA game marketing strategy when they were beginning to hype Floyd versus Manny 1.

I predict that the fight will be on christmas. The perfect time to scam everyone hehehe.

Yeah, I remember that one as well. I also don't believed is this so called chance encounter. They all know that a lot of people, specially Pinoys watch basketball game in the US so they're like slowly upping the show and gauging as how the people will react by this encounter. So far though, I haven't heard enough hype for a possible rematch, maybe they are still cooking something in the next couple of months and I'm sure the Floyd Mayweather will used his social media accounts as well to put a spin and promote the fight subliminally.
9275  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin can less the unemployment rate? on: January 23, 2019, 03:58:26 AM
Do you believe that the adoption of bitcoin in every country can less the unemployment rate? As what I have observed most of the countries right now are accepting bitcoin as a payment method. Is there a possibility that crypto will be legalized and become as a legal job also?

What kind of jobs are you talking about? I would agree if you refer to blockchain technology, but bitcoin? How can it reduce unemployment when people just trade or invest on it? You mean people going to trade and make it as their regular job? It can't because bitcoin price is very volatile and highly risk, just look at how people left their regular jobs to pursue full time in trading in 2017 because they think the price could go on parabolic rise, and then we witnessed 2018, a bearish trend which makes it difficult to make money out of the market even up to this day.
9276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Whats your most common uses for cryptocurrencies? on: January 23, 2019, 03:43:53 AM
What do you use cryptocurrencies most often for? If you thought about what cryptocurrency you use the most and what your favorite/most often use case is for it, what would it be? Obviously if it's private and you don't wish to share that's fine, I'm just curious to see what's being used and where people go most often for purchases, maybe pick up some new websites to visit for stuff I haven't found yet, or just share some places with other users who don't know many places to spend at.

We have a local wallet that allow us to use our bitcoin to pay for our bills, from credit card to electric, water and even internet and mobile phone load. So that's the best use case for me. I haven't try to purchase things online though, but I heard lots of websites accepting crypto like https://openbazaar.org/ and https://www.newegg.com/, and book flights in https://www.cheapair.com/.
9277  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you been able to resist? on: January 22, 2019, 07:30:03 PM
Have you been able to resist the addiction and not let gambling consume you?

Yes, but it's really very difficult though.

Have you been able to control the urge to place that bet, spin that wheel or roll
that dice? For you to be able to go a length of time away from the adrenaline.

As I have said, it's hard to control my gambling habits, but I don't know, maybe I just try to get myself busy and not to think of going online or even on a traditional casinos.

Would be interested to hear how people can control this.

Just started to go to the gym again and release everything. hahaha, then go home, go to work. Not thinking of gambling as I used to during the height of my addiction.
9278  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 22, 2019, 07:02:41 PM
Yeah, I agree that if Mayweather and Manny would fight it would be a boring one but like always, money's is all about why the fight would happen. That is if mayweather will decide to fight back on the ring with a Manny Pacquiao showdown.
I disagree that Money vs Manny 2 would be a boring fight. If Manny is there in a fight, it is exciting just like the Pacman vs Broner fight. IMO this rematch would happen and the only question here is the timing and for sure that money is always a factor to make this fight happen.

They did already fight however. It was very boring and it was embarassing for the promoters, especially after the megahype done to promote it. I reckon it might have made the fans, real and casuals, feel scammed similar to how the Bitconnect bagholders were scammed hehehehehe.

How can you call it boring for the promoters when it generated PPV records and a revenue closed to $500 million?

As for the eye issue, it's not a detached retina as some media outlet is saying, it's just a scratch cornea.

https://www.boxingscene.com/pacquiao-scratched-cornea-re-examined-monday-l--135592

Quote
The New York Daily News first reported the news of Pacquiao’s eye injury early Monday morning. Pacquiao is not believed to have suffered a detached retina, as the Daily News story stated a source said was a possibility.

But I'm not sure about the possibility of rematch though, Floyd remains non-committal, so let's see how it pans out.

He said that he was not hurt post interview, He said that he was just clipped behind the ear that's why he losses his balance as compare to the first Cody fight wherein he was smack in the face but the ref didn't stop it.
9280  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Super speculative investment on: January 20, 2019, 03:09:51 AM
If I wanted to spend a little bit on something very speculative any suggestions? I’m talking boom or bust.

I won't suggest any particular coins but it's worth to look at least top 11-20 altcoins. There's a lot of movement in there can might fit your bill.

It's also cool to look at https://coinmarketcap.com/gainers-losers/. Just imagine a coins recently listed on exchange making huge gain then suddenly goes down in the next couple of days. You may want to try and experiment on any coins listed on them, you might earn a few couple of dollars by shorting them.
