Update, this is the lower number of merit earned on a single week so far.

9282  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: When are you waiting for massive pump now? on: September 08, 2018, 09:41:13 PM
Usually, if we look at the past years the end of the year is the best moment for cryptomarket. The hope is the same for this year, we need to wait what whales will do, we are small fishes and we can do nothing to influence the market.

We need to read and get informations around the web, and use what we find.
9283  Other / Meta / Re: Most new accounts do not contribute anything on: September 08, 2018, 07:06:28 PM
Recently evil IP payment has been threading all over the forum which I believed it will makes a lot of beginners to abandon their new account simply because they have no Idea on how to make the payment. Secondly some newbies are here with greedy habit to make huge money account night as a result they may fall into the wrong hands and get scam which will make them to abandon their account.

The evil IP works only if one user from that IP is banned, otherwise you can log in more accounts at the same time with a new fresh IP.

The number of merit sources has remained pretty stable in the past 6 months or so.  Currently the number of merit sources is at 84 - and I had assumed that the number of merit sources would have been higher by now....

Regarding whether the changed merit system is taking any dent out of spam, perhaps we are going to see what happens during the next bitcoin price spike, since your theory seems to be partly based on asserting such a spam to BTC price correlation... another reason to look forward to our next BTC price explosion.. Hopefully, soon!!!!tm

The number of sources is increase from start, was around 80 and now they are 84 but since they have a life outside of the forum some of them are no longer active so also for this reason the weekly merit is decreasing week after week.
9285  Other / Meta / Re: @theymos, we want those sections back to us, new moderators? on: September 08, 2018, 02:48:23 PM
I think that the increase in the number of moderators can help the community but I do not think it will change much, even if we add 100 moderators, the spammers can make themselves in a few minutes even 10,000 accounts and spam, so in the end we are in the same situation where a user must report a spam and a moderator must delete the message.

So to conclude with more realistic numbers even if you add 5 moderators we are in the exact same situation.
9286  Other / Meta / Re: Question about thread reporting. on: September 07, 2018, 11:09:10 PM

It's however a bit of a dilemma: If a megathread is deleted, then spammers select the "easiest" of the remaining threads for their spam posts, in many case ruining the discussion in decent or even interesting threads.
~

It will change nothing, a spammer (boT) will be always a spammer, if a thread will be locked, it will spam on another one, it makes no diffence at all.
This is not how we fix the spam, removing post from shitposter spammers. They uses bots, if they want, on the time that we ban one of them they will create 10 bots. This is a war we can't win at this stage, we need a restriction on posting, or registration (make harder?).
9287  Other / Meta / Re: Take care from a update Link on MyEtherWallet on Bitcointalk ! on: September 07, 2018, 08:38:44 PM
This is a great example on why newbie accounts should not have the opportunity to write freely in all sections of the forum.
9288  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: September 07, 2018, 08:33:52 PM
So it looks like it definitely takes a lot to gain merit to gain rank now. Haha Bitcointalk definitely up'ed the game for sure. Hopefully this will make post quality increase substantially.

Yes, if the number of merits continues to fall even if we have more and more merit sources and at this rate it will be very difficult for many people to get a +1 on their rank, however the drop in spam is relative for me and follows google trends, as soon as, and if ever Bitcoin will return on 15k + spam will increase new for the growing hype and the new number of new subscribers

I bet it is the same on this forum activity.
9289  Other / Meta / Re: Buying and Selling BCT Accounts on: September 07, 2018, 07:34:08 PM
Buying an account has multiple risks. The main risk is obviously to be scammed by the seller, the second risk is to buy a dangerous account, as they wrote before me some accounts here on the forum are dangerous for legal purposes for  fraud problems, so who knows you can be at penal risk too.
9290  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: THE SCAMMER Guinness world record on bitcointalk 1 man 1000 accounts 150k+ usd! on: September 05, 2018, 06:46:33 PM

Bounty campaigns already don't pay the highest stakes for signature campaigns because they are not efficient anymore. I have worked lately with few ICO's and all of them complained that signature campaigns give no results. There where hundreds of participants signed but after the first week they didn't sell any tokens.
~

The main problem is the missing of the regulation, too many shitcoins on the market and people lost interest on them since most are scams.
If one day we will get a regulation and only 10% of actual ICOs the advertising will be very relevant again.
9291  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is the bet altcoin to buy now? on: September 05, 2018, 06:40:35 PM
Noone can tell you where to invest, you need to study the market and the coins, and what they can will be in few years.
It's you call if you want invest is a big "strong" coin like ethereum, or you want to "gamble" with a potential good coin like EOS, remember to invest only how much you can loose.

90% of traders are in loss on trading so why you need to listen losing people? Study and get your profit.
9292  Other / Meta / Re: ADD http://fonstavka.com/ as new/old phishing site?! on: September 05, 2018, 01:06:14 PM
No, it's 403 for everyone... They must have worked out that they've been noticed now...

Maybe their Registrar worked out that they looked like a phishing site and closed their account...

it's not 403 for me, screenshot below

The moment when you read the list and you don't even know 3/4 of the members on the list.

9294  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why 6000% price growth in just 24 hour on AurumCoin (AU)? on: September 04, 2018, 11:47:10 PM
Those are dump to attract newbie of the market, you always need to look at the volume of the coin, now the coin is back to shitty volume.

This happens several times at month for several coins, be care and don't be scammed.

User: abandons@mail.ru and abadines@mail.ru
Obviously the same owner of both account.
There is a proof: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2363994.1200 Campaign finished six months ago, they still try to participate.
Also on this page users: Aleksandr Kolmogorov and SuperRodrigoBR

The problim with those account is simple and can't be solved.
They are newbie accounts, wiht few posts and they change ETH address every campaing, is a nightmare to find the main account.

Also if we look at SuperRodrigoBR https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=2294456;sa=showPosts
we can find those address

Code:
0x91D8f2e4hjdEC122568f4c2cd5D14a362glk561F
0x338a332148ed669b5a74cb26c270a453f085d3

0xF1E004fd2b399c790170aA6Ea6A1d6E8284038

... and going on, every single address do not exist on the eth's blokchain!

For this reason I guess they are bumping bots who bump the thread with fake datas.
9297  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO price and Listing price on: September 04, 2018, 05:30:29 PM
If the bounty has a fixed predetermined percentage for the bounty and the project does not sell so many tokens and therefore this percentage is impacting the total number of tokens sold, we can find ourselves in a situation in which the bounty hunters actually can affect the market for the coin, but this is difficult to come by often when you reach the soft cap and the number of tokens for the hunters is too high, this number is reduced drastically to avoid the dump.
But this rarely happens, the initial dump is usually done by the whales that they buy with a big initial bonus, careless of the project for pure profit and selling soon after when coin hit exchange.
9298  Other / Meta / Re: Bounty or signature campaign? on: September 04, 2018, 01:30:44 PM
The ICOs that pay with coins like bitcoin (or maybe even etherium) are usually managed on the forum by trusted people who accept people with a  good quality of posts and often are limited in partecipants.
ICOs that pay with tokens, generally attract spammers in order to spam as much as possible in the forum, often without looking at the quality of the posts but only the amount.
For this reason, since there are many more people involved, they are often prey to abusers who participate with multiple accounts, since the purpose is to spam, often they are not even checked.
9299  Other / Meta / Re: Request: add bitcointalk.TO to [phishing] list on: September 03, 2018, 10:57:18 PM
I think I can keep bumping this until the title reads "add [phishing] to [phishing] list" Wink

An interesting fact, as cheater hunter sometimes I need to copy paste one eth address on google bar search and often I find the eth address from a research as bitcointalk.to while the bitcointalk.org is not even shown on the results of google.
If you copy the .to link and you change the .to with .org, the page it esixt on our forum.

Why google shows .to researches but not the .org ones?

Today I am reported few accounts who's posted weekly report even if the campaign manager did not ask for it from participants. I am waiting to see how it will be solved.

Remember that if the messages you will find are posted in a limited period of time and that if they even have the same form (obviously not required by the bounty manager who only asks for reports via spreadsheet), most probably are bot and they are abusing with also multiaccount.
If you want post here accounts, if you find this pattern or even for DM and I will help you with the hunt.
