9341  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 04, 2019, 04:35:33 AM
Pacman will win this match by a late KO!
Why do you think Manny will win via late KO? Care to share you thoughts? Let us not belittle the capacity of Adrien Broner and boxing it self. A wrong move by either fighter can send either fighter to to the canvas. Just look at the fight of Tyson and Buster Douglas. Everyone thought its juts another walk in the park for Tyson but after that fight it changed his life. Who knows if Adrien Broner will make another upset for Manny.

Obviously, he is a passerby in this thread and he is from the Philippines (based on his posting history), so definitely he wanted Pacman to win the fight in brutal fashion. Pacquaio shouldn't under-estimate Broner or any boxer for that matter. Even Pacquiao himself doesn't predict that he will KO his opponent, because he understands that if he force it, and looking for that one punch, it may not happen.
9342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Floyd Mayweather set for New Year's Eve fight in Japan on: January 03, 2019, 04:28:23 PM
The fight not so interesting for me because obviously kickboxer fighter will having trouble if they fight with boxing rules and Nasukawa looks crying after referee decide to stopped the fight and i was wondering whether mayweather punch still very strong although just like the post above me that myweather didn't training for this exhibition match or Nasukawa have weak chin and easy to defeated

Of course Mayweather shot took its tool on Nasukawa because his body is small as compare to Floyd who weight like about 150-155 lbs in that match against Nasukawa's 122-125 lbs. So definitely is someone bigger than you and hit you in the face, I'm sure that your chin will give out.  I'm not familiar with Nasukawa though so probably he has a weak chin as well.
9343  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Stop Hodling Coins!!! on: January 03, 2019, 04:49:55 AM
But you have to understand that there are investors who can't handle the pressure of crypto trading. That's why they chooses to just HODL on their coins for as long as they can and just sell when they see fit. So you can't blame them for HODLing because its a time and tested trading strategy as well.
9344  Economy / Economics / Re: US 2018 Taxes on: January 03, 2019, 04:26:27 AM
Is there a CPA or someone with tax knowledge that can confirm that there is a threshold value for reporting crypto transactions?  Is threshold $600 in a year?  I would ask a tax prep person but I don't want to pay for the answer if someone here already knows it.

I suggest you visit this thread Legal. There's a lot of interesting topics that might help you or you could find the answer there. Goodluck.
9345  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 mens Australian Open (tennis) betting odds on: January 03, 2019, 03:52:29 AM
I don't know if you guys have read this news.

So he gifted Tsonga a win and advance to the next round. We understand his concerns though, we all know that he is not getting any younger and the injuries are taking its toll on his body.
9346  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: BTI Report: A Majority of the Cryptocurrency Exchanges Fake the Trading Volumes on: January 03, 2019, 03:21:18 AM
right now, it is a great time for trader to do cross exchanges arbitrage trading among these exchanges.

Yes, but its difficult unless you used a bot to automate everything.

Yes I have read the reports last month and I'm not surprised that most exchanges really go to this tactics. Perhaps they wanted to show to the traders that they have huge volumes and are trusted, or maybe they are part of the bigger problem in crypto space which is market manipulation.
9347  Economy / Speculation / Re: Yearly All Time Lows For BTC on: January 03, 2019, 02:57:38 AM
Hyped by the said growth through ETF, and this is really good for all of us. We have a great price history, and it looks like the bottom this year will be much higher than what we expect. The hyped will boost the market again, whales will work on it so they can make money let’s just see what will they going to do to pump the market.
Don't overestimate the Bitcoin ETF. To be honest, I don't think that the bitcoin ETF will be passed this year. Even if it is passed, it is unlikely to have a big impact on the price of Bitcoin. The Bitcoin ETF is just a necessary stage in the development of the currency is a requirement for Bitcoin to become more popular. It takes a long time for the market to recover, not the ETF can change immediately.

I agree. I'm not seeing Bitcoin ETF to be approved this year. And we still don't know what it can bring to the market. I mean will institutional money flow or would they just short bitcoin? I'm leaning towards the next bitcoin halving though in 2020 that will really push the market and might start the bull run that we have been longing for. This year is a good way to continue to accumulate, imho.
9348  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: How would you evaluate altcoins performance throughout 2018 in general? on: January 02, 2019, 08:54:00 PM
Obviously altcoin market suffered worst than bitcoin last year. It's a total collapse even the number two at that time, Ethereum after going to its new all-time-high in January suddenly plummet to 2 digits. And majority lost 80%-90% of its price. And as a result almost everyone lost their money, other newbies good burned an exited, while strong hands are still holding and waiting for the altcoin market to bounce back this 2019 so let's see if we can see some semblance of recovery in the first quarter.
9349  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH and BTC bottom 2019 on: January 02, 2019, 08:31:42 PM
What is everyone predicting as the bottom on the market for ETH and BTC for 2019

For ETH I think it has found the bottom already at around $80-$90. As you can see now, it has retaken the 2nd spot in the marketcap so 90% the bottom has been touched. But for bitcoin, it's crazy because we really have any idea if the bearish trend is over so it's possible that we haven't seen the bottom yet as investors are visibly shaken for any negative news that comes out in the media.

What is everyone predicting as the bottom on the market for ETH and BTC for 2019
I want to talk according to the history of the past market of cryptocurrency. where we can see one year price down more than the previous year and next year price is about 2-20 x than the previous month. So if BTC follows the past history of markets then we can see another bullish movement of cryptocurrency. If it doesn't follow past history then 2019 will be the boring market.

On the contrary, based on its historical past, it should be a boring market with the majority of the price trading sideways and the start of the pump is after the block halving (scheduled for 2020). However, as I have said no one can really predict the price, so let's see how the market will react this 2019 and observe if it will still follow it's past history.
9350  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Finally ETH is back at no. 2 spot on: January 02, 2019, 08:11:37 PM
I think the price increase comes because of the constantinople update that is imminent. Hopefully, ethereum can hold the 2nd place after the update.

Yes the sudden spike was due to the news of the Constantinople going live, so it's a good day for Ethereum holders as the price goes up from the last all time low of $90 to $150 as we speak. It's still a far cry from its previous all-time-high but at least it's a good sign that Ethereum is back at the number two spot and hope it can maintained its positive even after the fork so that investors confidence will be back that might push the price even further.

9352  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Closed my small family farm, sold out rigs, and buy in! on: January 01, 2019, 08:40:02 PM
If you are solo mining did I guess there's some truth about the news that small to mid mining farms are closing because it's no longer profitable, although you will be bored easily because your rigs are all gone. Anyways, as far as financial advises, I'm not good at giving one so I will leave it out to the "experts". But in my honest opinion, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the only one that can give you a good return long term. Alts are good as long as you can ride the wave and exit on time. Best of luck.
9353  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2019 NBA Pre-Season on: January 01, 2019, 08:04:37 PM

Westbrook-Harden-Durant-Ibaka-Adams , that was their starting lineup if they didn't break it up, thats much much much better than anything warriors have right now.

This line up would surely be a championship contender. But how about the salary cap in which the team management would suffer. Besides, freeing those ball hugger like Durant and harden will surely benefit the team as well as they can get more reliable pieces with low salary. It's just sometimes players get a bad night just like what happens to Westbrook lately.

Yes, and as far as I can remember, James Harden didn't re-sign the contract that's why he was traded. So technically Adams and Harden can't be in the same line-up because when Adams arrived, Harden was already in Houston. It is also good to note that Victor Oladipo once played at OKC at well. And Oladipo became a great player after leaving OKC as well.
9354  Economy / Economics / Re: Predictions 2019: 3 potential triggers for the next Bitcoin bull run on: January 01, 2019, 07:50:07 PM
Like in 2017 year everyone was waiting for ETF approval and even when the ETF got extended and did not got approved the market moved up in last quarter of 2017, so their is no perfect source of bull movement in market , this are all supporting excuses to tell market moved up due to this reasons. Even in 2019 till half off the year the market would not be going in high and panic sellers and other low patience traders will get fed up and start selling and making market go down.

There is a reason why the bull market happens in 2017. The first Winklevoss application proposal in first quarter was the reason in anticipation of a possible ETF application and even push the price to 4 digits. However, when it was rejected the price goes below $1K again and then Japan entered the picture in April pushing the price and the start of the massive bull run. So a catalyst is needed to propel the price to rally.

So right one we are in the correction or accumulation phase. So we needed news to wake up the investors interest and probably a BAKKT approval and going live will at least get the ball rolling again.
9355  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull run?? on: December 31, 2018, 08:34:25 AM
It was answered, that the bull run was not present at the end of December 2018. Then do you still have other predictions? While the crypto market is still often red. Be patient..

All I can say is that we need to prepare for the worst. We still haven't seen some signs of a recovery, some minor spike here and there so yes, there's no bull run sad to say. 2019 is coming so we need to be optimistic that the new year will be so different and that we can see Bitcoin getting into 5 digits again and other altcoins also pushing it's price and show some semblance of a recovery.
9356  Economy / Economics / Re: Breaking: Harvard, Stanford, & MIT Have All Invested in Cryptocurrency Funds on: December 30, 2018, 10:37:23 AM
More institution join in cryptocurrency. After big financial institution join in this market by buying big exchanger, reputable education institution will join. Its good new for crypto community because its a sign that crypto will always survive

I'm under the impression that big institutions have been entering or have penetrated the market already. There are a lot of hedge fund managers offering OTC trades for their secretive client. So I guess it's wrong to assume that they educational institution will join just because big financial institutions are entering. Again, the reward is far more riskier if they chooses to put endowment funds as crypto investment.
9357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum set for January spike on: December 30, 2018, 10:10:14 AM
There's a difference between a spike and a recovery. Yes, Ethereum might "spike" and even double its current price, but I don't think it will be enough to say that it will recover. Remember we are still in the bearish trend, and we all know that after a fork, usually the price spike, but I doubt it will be sustainable in the long run unless the spike coincidence with a bull run.
9358  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 232: Jones vs Gustafsson 2 Prediction and Info Thread on: December 30, 2018, 09:41:30 AM
Nunes upset Cyborg and wins the featherweight belt. I thought Cyborg has the upper hand in the striking but Nunes came up blazing, both hands caught Cyborg and that overhand right was perfect to end the fight.

Damn. Amanda Nunes makes Cyborg looks like an amateur in the cage. Let's see her impressive resume:

- Chris Cyborg (:51, Round 1)
- Shevchenko (twice)
- Ronda Rousey (:48, Round 1)
- Meisha Tate (3:16, Round 1)
- Sarah McMann (2:53, Round 1)

What a record. As expected, Jones wear his new "gear" (no pun intended  Grin), as the new LHW champ. Ryan Hall defeated BJ Penn with a beautiful submission (heel hook), news report says that Penn's knee pop-up, I guess its time for him to retire.
9359  Economy / Economics / Re: Breaking: Harvard, Stanford, & MIT Have All Invested in Cryptocurrency Funds on: December 29, 2018, 06:48:12 PM
.. snip ..

University endowments are taxed at 1.4% flat rate in US and they required to disclose their investment in majority of the states apart from Colorado and Michigan. I doubt the legitimacy of the news of CCN here! I would not be surprised if universities have invested in the stocks crypto related companies but I will be really surprised if endowment funds are used in direct crypto investments. Probably a clickbait article!

Agree, I don't think that endowment funds are going to be used directly as crypto investments. Of course there's a lot of pros, however there are still risk/success in crypto investment that Universities really need to take into account, so not only the taxes rate is the issue here but the huge exposure to danger of losing that endowment or university assets in the long run.
9360  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BitMEX CEO: Ethereum ‘Will Quickly Test $200’ When ICO Market Returns on: December 29, 2018, 06:17:00 PM
Just a few dollars before reaching $200 so it's really doable. Remember that there will be a upcoming fork, so I'm sure many will slowly invest on Ethereum to get those free airdrop coins. It's a fairly conservative estimates from Bitmex CEO but at least it's not a exorbitant numbers similar to what other so-called experts are predicting and it's achievable by all means.
