941  Economy / Economics / Re: Investment advice? on: June 05, 2014, 09:03:07 AM
How about investing in Gold? I personally find Investment in Gold has the most rewarding and lucrative offer. Prices are regularized across the globe, they are never excess fluctuations, and most importantly, it is very easy to liquidate it...

I think the invention of firearms was one of the greatest events that changed history. Think about it, before firearms, people have to fight in close range. And it was very hard to kill people. But once guns are widely used in warfare, the number of casualties have sharply increased and wars keep getting bigger and bigger.

It is also now much easier to kill people and commit crimes with guns.

Yes let's go guys. There is no army or curfew in Phuket or Pattaya. We may enjoy cheap price while others are scared. Revenue from tourism industry occupies large percentage in Thailand's GDP and large Thais population live on tourists. I guess they will come up with some strategy to get tourists back. Imagine what might happen if hundred thousand people are unemployed due to the stop of tourist flow to this beautiful country. It is gonna be worst than the presence of army in the street.

An important tip for those who are planning a trip to Thailand: you are gonna enjoy interesting exchange rate (THB/USD, THB/EUR) due to this chaotic situation.
945  Economy / Economics / Re: Good business/economy books! on: May 29, 2014, 04:59:41 PM
A good business book that I can recommend would be:

What They Don't Teach You At Harvard Business School by Mark H. McCormack

I loved his advice about 'observing aggressively'Too many people nowadays are too caught up in what they themselves wanna say that they forget to pay attention to their business partners (aka the person they are talking to) when actually if you observe them closely and listen carefully to their actions and the words they use, their conscious and subconscious actions can tell you a lot about themselves and what they think!Ever since then I've made it a point to sit back and relax while paying attention to the people I'm talking to.
946  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Commercialization of MH370 search efforts on: May 28, 2014, 08:06:34 PM
No basic to say that government agencies have been performed better. Also this mission is not for free, so why would the private contractors perform it worse then?

Only doubt risen in my mind is: why is Australia so enthusiastic in this case while other nations do not pay appropriate attention, even Malaysia? Look at the map, Australia is the least concerned nation among those of which territories MH370 might fall down in. Is it worth for Australia to spend that much money searching this airplane?
947  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: [ANN] Bither - Say goodbye to Hardware Wallets. on: May 28, 2014, 06:03:18 PM
I shiver at the thought that someone may actually put their life's savings into Bither. A wallet which pops up out of nowhere and says "Hey, check out our slick app design. You can trust this wallet, cause it looks hip. Forget the source code which we never showed. Hey, it's on Google Play, so it's legit."
I'M GRIPPED BY DITHER AT THE THOUGHT OF USING BITHER.
yeah I rather put my wallet in a safe or external hard drive, you dont know who you can trust these days.  Im sure these type of services wont work especially with all the stuff that happen with people losing coins.
Since there is no FDA I wont let any company hold my coins.
948  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Favorite political figure? on: May 28, 2014, 02:52:34 PM
Mine would be Napoleon Bonaparte! He was a great French emperor who was loved by a lot of his subjects. When he was exiled by his political foes, he chose to escape captivity and marched a small army to Paris itself! Cheesy And when he was confronted by the enemy (his former) army, he said "If there is one of you who would kill his Emperor, here I am." They instead surrendered to him and joined him to claim France back into his rule. Too bad he was not an economist. He barely ruled for 100 days after his return from exile.
949  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Thai military seizes power in coup on: May 28, 2014, 02:33:10 PM
It is a smart and ruthless move.
Think about it, if they had announced a coup right away on Tuesday before they detained the political officers, the political officers might have asked their supporters to rise up against the army.
However, they pretended it was not a coup, asked the political officers to come to a meeting, arrested them, and THEN declare a coup with not many people left to oppose them.
It was a beautiful deception.
Completely agree with you , it was indeed a smart move..
Just read online, Prime minister has agreed to step down and dissolve the parliament.. I think matters will settle down in a day or two and things will proceed towards a new election..

As I can remember it is not the fist time Thailand experiences the deep interference of army in their life, even in the capital Bangkok. I have some friends who lived their during the riot time. I bet some talk with them may bring very interesting points of view from "inside people".
951  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: May 27, 2014, 11:37:46 PM
WOW it seems things are getting more and more violent.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-27583564

Poor fishermen.

China is expressing very aggressive, especially against minors.

"A Chinese vessel attacked and sank a Vietnamese fishing boat yesterday, Vietnam’s foreign affairs spokesman Le Hai Binh said. Ten fishermen on board the vessel were rescued by other Vietnamese boats in the incident yesterday around 17 nautical miles (31 kilometers) from the Chinese oil rig."
952  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Political Conspiracy Theories - true or fake ? on: May 27, 2014, 11:11:01 PM
How about the airplane MH370? Isn't it a good sample for conspiracy theory?

I believe that the plane was hit by some missile, then exploded in the air. It might be most its way for some technical accident but an act of destruction is the strongest assumption. Some army submarine might not recognize it so for security the poor plane was hit.

Anyway it is just one personal idea. But I guess most of people here believe that all States know what happened to the unlucky airplane, only people do not.
953  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Political Conspiracy Theories - true or fake ? on: May 27, 2014, 10:03:35 PM
Zolace If you like this kind of story's try to look arrivals u can easy find them on YouTube , they are Islamic way of thinking about the conspiracy T.

I feel kinda like James Bond when I read more or watch more stuff about conspiracy's
I love the conspiracy theory that the first landing on the moon was staged! I watched the doccie about it. It highlighted the number of the rocks which were really props, the way the flag stood, shadows etc..It really made me think that the world could possibly have been duped!
High Frequency Active Auroral Research Program, (HAARP) could be guilty for floods on Balkan in Europe , but they are now closing everything just 10 day's after floods is it strange ?
954  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Political Conspiracy Theories - true or fake ? on: May 27, 2014, 06:18:43 PM
The world is today a complex and scary place and we are surrounded by conspiracy theories all around.. and these are the ones that actually turn out to be true.. Things work out without any reason and rhyme and stuff just happens.. It is best to leave the conspiracy theories aside.
955  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: May 27, 2014, 06:15:47 PM
the website is an appreciated effort of the government for a democratic environment. Some people just go too far. Anyway I think many of them do some strange or funny things on purpose. For example this petition, it will not ring a bell in the white house but it will definitely raise hate of Chinese to people who petition against them, in this case it is Vietnamese.
Interesting. But if it comes down to a choice, who do you think the US gov will choose? The Vietnamese government or the Chinese government?
Despite the infamous history of the Vietnam War, Vietnam today is one of the most pro-American countries in Asia, with 71% of Vietnamese people viewing the U.S. favorably in 2002.
Vietnamese students form the 8th largest group of international students studying in the United States, representing 2% of all foreigners pursuing higher education in America.
No matter how you look at it, today Vietnam is totally an Ally to US and they need Allies now all the more especially with the conflict against Putin.
956  Other / Meta / Re: The forum is asleep? on: May 27, 2014, 05:36:09 PM
I think I know what happened since they banning people this forum became more dead.  use to be alot of action but people are leaving this forum and going else where.  I saw lots of action at all times and love reading what people have to say but since they got strict here, the forum has been even dead in all hours.
957  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: May 27, 2014, 03:50:55 AM
Interesting move:

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/put-sanctions-china-invading-vietnam-territory-deployment-oil-rig-haiyang-981/p2b7Rnnv

This one is not only interesting but also ridiculous. People seem to get extreme. Is anybody here gonna sign it lol?

by the way this is the first time I see a petition for sanction (normally I have seen and signed many petitions requesting someone to stop something, not to punish someone else). Anybody has a precedent?
958  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Ukraine rejects Russia Gazprom gas price hike on: May 27, 2014, 03:42:22 AM
so someone above was right, the oil rig has not finished its tasks yet. It will stay for sure, unless the world stops it. The oil rig is challenging the world.

But another thing may stop the journey of the oil rig: typhoon. Soon it will be typhoon season in south china sea. The whole world still remember how terrible typhoons in this region are, Philippine would never forget. China is obviously rich enough to maintain the oil rig and navy vessel crew there for years, but they are not rich enough to go against nature and Act of God.
959  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Commercialization of MH370 search efforts on: May 27, 2014, 03:02:48 AM
I say: Why not? The private sector has always been known as being more efficient and creative than government sectors. And given how ineffective the search by government agencies has been so far, maybe it's time to give someone else a try.

Wasn't there a news story awhile back about Russia erasing 95% worth of debt that was owed by North Korea (around 10$ billion) in order to facilitate the building of a gas pipeline to South Korea?

Seems like Russia is trying to diversify its portfolio by moving their business away from Europe and towards buyers in Asia.

http://www.naturalgasasia.com/russia-writes-off-north-korea-debt-to-facilitate-gas-pipeline-to-south-korea-12275
Sigh. What a much better world it would be if economics are not dictated by world politics! Imagine how easy and much more beneficial would it be for people to be able to sell their resources to the highest bidder without the fear of political backlash

yeah Bryant might be right about that part
It is clear that all these sanctions imposed on countries such as North Korea, Egypt and Russia are only hurting the world economy and the innocent civilians of these respective countries who had no say in the decisions of their political elite
You are absolutely right umair127
Russia is actually trying hard to expand its portfolio by making connections in Asia..Few days back, it had also got into a deal with Bahrain in regards to Investments... And it is doing absolutely right.. After all, why would it go by the rules imposed by USA...
