I'll be looking for a buy opportunity when BTC gets closer to reaching new highs..

LTC/BTC is at a decent long term price point at 0.01 (You can easily double your BTC if you hold until the next bubble). But I don't think we've seen the "point of maximum pain" yet

I don't know mate. People thought LTC was a lost cause and anyone who bought near the 40's range must have experience the point of maximum pain.

In USD terms, yes, I think so. I'm saying LTC/BTC still has another leg down when BTC starts making jumps so high that LTC cant keep up (this has happened in the past two "bubbles", before LTC/BTC shoots from 0.01 to 0.04 in about the timeframe of a week)

I would say now is a good time to get into LTC/USD but there will be better opportunities ahead if you trade LTC/BTC imo (I'll be waiting for 0.006-0.008)
942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: August 26, 2014, 04:00:23 AM
I shouldn't have shorted LTC.  Undecided Should I back at a loss? Any opinions?

I closed my 0.013 short below 0.01.  Just looking at LTCBTC I'd probably hold on to a short if I had one, but I'd rather be long BTC.  If you are short in USD terms, I would GTFO.

Yep. It was in USD. But I'm not worried now that I look at it. I can sleep comfortably while being long in BTC. On the other hand, greed is bad. Not gonna fall for it.

Bitstamp 4 Hr. MACD flashing on & off...

Hopefully some fresh fiat will ignite a rocket this week

It was easier making money when we had the daily $60 swings. I miss those good old days Cry

Because that time Bitcoin market was not mature, but now Bitcoin market behaving very maturely.
It is good we are not moving like 50-60 USD everyday.

I suspect we will be seeing the price move hundred of dollars a day during the next "bubble"

Still lots of volatility coming Smiley

945  Economy / Speculation / Re: Question For Bitcoin OldTimers on: August 25, 2014, 05:07:17 AM
I got interested in Bitcoin around the end of 2012, around the time of the block halving.

I've always attributed the block halving to that rise from $13 to $266 (although now I know many other factors were at work)

Looks like a textbook Inverted Head & Shoulders pattern is forming....

Very Bullish Grin

XMR seems good, but DRK? what it has? The coinjoin category Supercoin is the best, with multisig trustless tech. I don't think DRK is good in anyway, just hype.

I agree, I think DRK doesnt have much else to offer considering it is a Bitcoin fork with privacy features, I think it has had it's reign but there are many anon currencies working hard to take it's place. Whether XMR will take it's place only time will tell but there are many eyes on Monero. "Darkcoin" sounds a bit childish to me but "Monero" has some clever marketing behind it. Whether you're english, spanish, french, asian etc. the word "Monero" sounds native in almost every language.

"Darkcoin" is like MySpace
"Monero" is like Facebook

Getting into breakout territory, although there's some decent sized walls to break past 0.004...

Nothing that Rpietila can't take care of though  Cheesy

edit: wall gone

Darkcoin may rise again...

But Monero XMR will soon be taking crown  Grin

When I say 500 i really mean 480-520...

Once we will leave this trading range there will be no turning back  Grin

Looks like we're leaving this trading range...

When we finally break up, $800 will come hard and fast

Next move has to be up, I'm not even worried about it  Cool

We've tested $500 enough to never touch it again imo

Is the hosted online wallet the only wallet available besides for Cryptsy, BTER etc ?

I cant seem to find any info in the OP thread or other papers.

are there plans for a GUI wallet in the future if this is the case?

You can either download the node here:
http://downloads.crypti.me/crypti-node/0.1.x/crypti-linux-0.1.3.zip

Or install via Docker via the following guide:
https://github.com/crypti/crypti-docs/blob/master/boot2docker.md

We will update the OP soon.

At this point we do not plan a stand-alone GUI client (like in Node project for example), as basically everyone have a browser they can access their local Crypti node.
That said, a native Windows node (that will include shortcuts to start and login to local Crypti node) is in a near-term plan.

Thanks so much!

Im doing a project on Crypti and this info really helps  Grin

Looks like we could be in for a sideways weekend here...

Time for a day of rest  Cheesy

that would be nice.

Get some sleep adam!

when you wake back up again the price will have budged +/- 0.2% and you will be glad
957  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: August 23, 2014, 05:27:50 PM
But first we better get to work on better privacy techniques.

Bitcoin isn't any good to anyone in its current state.

you keep saying this about Bitcoin's anonymity properties.  if true, why haven't you identified the mtgox crooks yet and sold off the info?  you'd make alot doing so...

This is so true imo...

Everyone is so concerned about privacy and anonymity these days but even our smartest minds can't catch the bad actors. From mtgox to TradeFortress to SR, the good guys and the bad guys all work tirelessly to no avail. Even with a transparent blockchain, the control we have over privacy is still very much in our own hands.

959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Next Major Bank crash will be THE BEST time for bitcoins. on: August 23, 2014, 04:58:28 PM
as soon as another Major bank crashes Bitcoins will rise to they sky. so let's hope for a bank to crash lol

It really feels like ecomonic collapse is right around the corner.

However, these things usually take alot longer than we'd like...

Alot of experts are calling for September/October 2015 for the next collapse and I think that's highly possible. The only difference between this one and 2008 is that this will be the big one where the dollar gets taken down along with the bond market, stock market, housing market, and the banks!

There's no better time to stock up on BTC !!
960  Economy / Speculation / Re: ready for $400 again? on: August 23, 2014, 04:14:54 PM
Nice chart.

If anyone still don't think we are in bubble territory after seeing this chart.

Read this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tulip_mania

Tulip Mania?  Really?  You absolutely, positively have to be the dumbest M'Fer on this entire board.  In fact, your mere existence here drops the average intelligence quotient by 32 points.  There isn't a scenario imagineable where your views and input could be considered valuable in even the slightest of senses.

Welcome to ignore.

My response to this is that, unlike Bitcoin, Tulips had no value and no utility.

Bitcoin obviously offers a hell of alot more than tulips do and it has the hashrate to support a $5xx price point

SMH at these fools
