Just started mining and installed the newest versions of them,however have some problems while mining.
Which would be the best SDK and Catalyst versions to have while mining Scrypt Coins?
I have 5850 card.

Bought today a videocard,3hours later finally managed to start mining.
I have 5850 card and mining with GUIminer,however Im not sure whats happening.
When I first launch the Guiminer(the accepted shares flow in like crazy super fast about 50shares/30seconds or like that but after a minute the shares accepted as displayed in guiminer start to flow in reallllly slowly like 2shares max per 30seconds. as I press Stop button and then again Start the accepted shares start flowing in a bit faster until 20seconds later they again stale and I get max 2shares per 30seconds.
Anyone have any idea what this could be?

Alright Im getting tomorrow 5850 for a little bit over £50 , should give about 350kh/s ( 50X more then my laptops CPU)  hopefully will earn back more then I spend on power |

depending on your system and what it can support, but buying anything new at that price is a bad choice.
100£ is more than enough for 2x 5850 second handed, wish should get your between 700-800Kh/s and this is the best performance for the money you have you can get, a second option if you have only one slot available or looking for a more future proof build up look for a second hand 7950 (there are some with 5 years warranty if you can get your hand on of those which is pretty hard go fo it) it also way more power efficient than a dual 5850 , You'll probably need around 150£ for that. for mining don't look at anything other than 58XX, 59XX, 79XX, R9 280 R9 290 after those you can consider the HD69xx
Thanks, got only 1 slot will try to get 5850 if i can get it cheap enough otherwise will get 6770 or 5770 7950 is like 200£ so will leave it for later if I have any success in mining. |

Look for second hand HD 5770 / HD 6770 / HD 7770
Super cheap. Over 200-210 kH/s, easy to overclock.
HD 6770 -looks like only £40 for 200kh/s. Would This be the best card to go for If Im just starting out and want to test this out but dont want to spend too much at first?  |

Hey thanks so much for that link! what about 6970 /6950 - it says on that link they get 450kh/s and they cost on ebay only around 80-100pounds? |

well, the 7870 will do about 285 kh/s

thanks brewins, had a look and its spot on 100pounds on ebay. Maybe anyone else has some suggestions for something which would do better then 200kh/s even if it's 20% expensive but gets more power I wouldnt mind.

Bought 110,000,000 of these CENT for about $6 2days ago when they had hit their rock bottom.
Now they are worth already $65 . Wish I had more money to buy them at that time. if they go back to the value they were 10days ago will have $500 from $6 investment.

I see a lot of people are running 7970 but it's around £250 on ebay used which is damn too rich for me now. I have about £100 which I made last week from £10 i invested in some coins and then traded/sold them on,don't really want to spend any other money other then Which I have already made with these coins. what would be the best GPU I could get for that kind of money or less? I get now 7kh/s from my laptops cpu which is just pathetic also Im interested in mining only these new Scrypt based alt cryptocurrencies. |
