Jeebus guys cut them some slack, they've got a whole sack of turds to unwind right now.

Sample of the sack of turds btc-e have to address:

1) Find secure infrastructure away from the Feds
2) Rebuild all those fucking databases
3) Unleverage positions and work out how to compensate
4) Work out if re-opening is viable
5) Work out who owns what
6) Work out how to get fiat back to customers when no fucking bank will touch them
7) etc etc

Put the pitchforks back and give them some time.. pretty sure things could have worked out worse already, at least they made contact

So much bullshit anti-Venezula propaganda

The country is getting overthrown by the US, it's not internal politics you fucking dumb bastards.

It amazes me how people who I thought were smart just swallow the mainstream narrative without thinking

sooo every socialist/communist country is getting overthrown by US? The socialism itself caused all of that trouble, not everything is US fault, not this time.

No dummie, the state of Venezula in particular is getting overthrown by the US. If you ever read outside the Western media bubble you might realize not all the information you are force fed is correct.

Its the same with North Korea. All you clueless salivating shitheads actually think NK is a viable threat on its own, independent of Chinese support.

The entertainment level of this thread is falling hard.

Here are some posting guidelines:

1) No walls of text
2) No verbatum legal gibberish
3) No morbid gloating from basement dwelling nihilists
4) More tits

Pretty easy for you all to follow this superb advice

This situation with BTC-e is not important just to BTC-e but for the whole crypto exchange system.

For example, SimpleFX (exchange?) is not allowing transfers between crypto and hard currency balances. You can trade crypto-hard pairs but you can't: deposit crypto then buy usd and then use that usd to fund mt4 account or to withdraw that usd bought onto EXCHANGE(?). FXOpen does not allow US citizens. Will the rest of exchanges follow those rules?

If theres one thing I've learnt from all this bullshit is that the biggest problem is crypto is fiat. If a viable living economy can exist purely based on crypto, then the ties to fiat can be cut and these government shakedowns can end

This tread is in danger of turning into a shitposting contest. Please remain on topic gentlemen. Obviously not ladies, because ladies don't understand crypto and are probably posting endless shit selfies on facebook as we speak.

Refund suggestion:

Metroid:      5$
Fontas:       0$

We shall refund so that those how have a little (< 100 ETH) will get more than 1000 ETH and those how have more (> 1000 ETH) will get under 100 ETH.

This way most of us will be happy and few of use will be extremely mad.

It's not about making the most people happy, it's about being fair.

There's no way they'll do that.

They should refunding according to pro level trollbox comment history. Pretty much the only real way to ensure justice

you are high all the time. where do you take the weed from.... now, that Alphabay was closed?   Grin Cheesy

For the record, I have a life of virtue, clean living and vegitarianism. My only vices are eating cakes when a trade goes bad, wanking and pissing besides French motorways because I refuse to pay to use the ones in the service station.

Revised Odds:

1) Btc-e does a deal with the US, pays fine, re-opens: 10% (smart business)
2) Btc-e runs with the money 1% (dumb)
3) Btc-e gives the US the finger and re-opens under a new domain: 25% (Russian style big balls)
4) Feds take all funds and keep it for the benefit of humanity: 2% (crypto apocalypse)
4) Feds take funds and refund people in a reasonable timeframe: 1% (bleak)
5) Btc-e refunds users: 61% (true love)

These statistics are 100% accurate, please do not argue with the truth

Latest update from BTC-E...

https://twitter.com/btcecom/status/891928666065707008

....

More detailed information about what happened to the BTC-e service.

On July 25, 11:00 the FBI staff came to the data center where our server equipment was located and seized all equipment, the servers contained databases and purses of our service.

Almost for 6 days we could not get from our hosting provider the sane information, what happened to our servers because of this information we publish only now.

July 28, the domain was confiscated.

To date, part of the service facility was arrested by the FBI

The next update will include information on what options are available to restore the service, and also the procedure for obtaining funds, in the event that the service is not started. In the current situation, if the service is not started before the end of August, then from September 1 we will start the process of refund.
In the next 1-2 weeks, we will evaluate and publish information about how much money fell into the hands of the FBI and what amount of funds is available for return.

For all those who buried us, I will remind you that the service has always worked on trust and we are ready to answer for it.
The funds will be returned to everyone!

Arrest of the Russian Vinnyk Alexandra:
Officially declare - Alexander was never the head or employee of our service.

Sincerely btc-e

P.S. In the subject write questions as far as possible we will answer them.

If true I fucking love btc-e!

954  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 31, 2017, 05:50:44 AM
Never leave any more on an exchange than you are willing to lose...

Are you retarded?  How many times did you think somebody wrote it already? I read it now a 100th fucking time. People repeating it like a fucking parrot because they dont know anything.  It is called TRADING. How one supposed to trade? By sending coins forth and back and what happens if it goes down at the exact moment? And what if you need to stay in fiat because of weekend dumps? No, no, no, you say keep it off exchanges, elite pro trader.

Btce was the most reliable exchange. People trusted it because of that. I have a verified bitstamp account but I traded only really small amounts for arbitrage there. I never trusted bitstamp, too - thats another reason.

If you dont lose anything get the hell out of here and dont feed your life from our grief.

+1 Great post,

People used BTC-e for trading not for bitcoin storage. Btc-e had one of the best APIs out there.
955  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 31, 2017, 05:43:16 AM
500 million on the move and very very little media coverage...  Uncle Sam sure knows how to keep the smoke signals down.   This is as big as GOX and look what it got press wise, also zero impact on BTC price as lots of the Bitcoin news desks are heavily invested and promoting other positive news in the hope no one notices.

Lol I was thinking the same thing.

956  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 30, 2017, 09:32:41 PM
When I saw the sad picture of various badges of the US agencies on the btc-e's web site I had even greater admiration for Kim Dotcom who is still standing. Just wanted to share.

Any guess when we can expect the service to re-open if ever? My best guess would be in 2-3 months, if we are lucky. Although a tweet in Russian mentioned in 5 to 10 days, hardly believable.  Shocked

Latest Odds:

1) Btc-e does a deal with the US, pays fine, re-opens: 40% (smart business)
2) Btc-e runs with the money 5% (dumb)
3) Btc-e gives the US the finger and re-opens under a new domain: 20% (Russian style big balls)
4) Feds take all funds and keep it for the benefit of humanity: 15% (crypto apocalypse)
4) Feds take funds and refund people in a reasonable timeframe: 5%
5) Hot blonde sucks my dick next week: 15%

These statistics are 100% accurate, please do not argue with the truth

@mayax
Go fuck yourself, fucking gloter I see you see pride in other people misfortune, I guess you are happy now
One day you will lose also, then you will remember I am sure of that

Yes, because I warned for so many times and you and others...in your arrogance ignored all these alerts. YOU must VERY stupid to "play"  a large amount by using an exchanger like BTC-e.

There is another alternative but you said that your funds were OK(if your funds were not clean).

I real investor will never use unregulated exchangers. why would I do that? nobody answered yet.

Look to these forex companies. They are all REGULATED and they accept BTC. why wouldn't use them? Smiley  well, the answer is : either you are a sheep or stupid or your funds were not clean.

958  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BTC-e hacked ?? on: July 29, 2017, 07:26:35 PM
I think we lost all. Would like everybody have his money back, but if we lost better than russian btce guys steal our money and not usa goverment, that they are the biggest thieves

are you out of your mind?
BTC-e has been sized because it was doing illegal business.
Or, at least, one of its head operator was.
They are responsible of all the money lost. And you also want to give them a hug? Smiley

If the coins have not been seized by Fed (as it seems for now)... they have to return them.
Otherwise they will be additionally charge of theft and fraud.

They cannot simply disappear with the money. And no one should wish this.
(unless you work at BTCe Wink )

As far As I can see, there are 3 options:
1). money has been seized. bye bye money.
2). btc-e still have all the money (at least the crypto assets) and they run for it. ---> They already have the feds on their tails. The feds would love to tear them all apart confirming that btc-e was "indeed an illegal operation". More arrests follow.
3). BTC-e dismisses the arrested guy. Pays the fine. Restores a mirror site, enforces rules, and gives back the money.

The third option will:
Keep most of BTC-e employers out of jail.
Restoring (although it takes time) the valuable business they had.
Return money to happy costumers that will praise their new god (btc-e).

We will see how it plays.
But please, stop wishing that Russian guys have steal the money Smiley

Entirely reasonable analysis in a sea of chaos, thanks buddy.

RIght clearly people are getting a bit negative again, having potentially lost every fucking penny on some bullshit. But Lets get some perspective:

The Man wants a $100Million fine, why would they want a fine paid if they just take everyones funds? Shit don't make sense.

Heres the dream scenario: BTC-e negotiates a repayment scheme of $50mil and to comply with US regs. in return for the btc-e domain back and trading restart

That's good business right there.

Stop implement hope again. I have $200k in btce and I am consider it absolutely lost. Yes I will wait until the first week of August to erase that last doubt of return.

What reasons do you have for such little hope?

The arrst of Vinnik with tons of IT devices and afterwards, a few days later, the domain is gone. Maybe wallet keys, too? No communication of btce whatsoever. The whole fanatic USA justice league are after them. It looks absolutely not promising.

We don't know really about cold wallets, why nobody found them? There is this 66k wallet that is believed to be from coinbase, but, look at it, 66k btc divided into 20 btc parts moved around in to gigantic numbers of addresses, what the fuck? This could be a cold wallet of btce anyway.

I mean, why is there any reason for hope?

I'm not trying to be a dick here, I know this is a lifechanging crisis for a lot of people. But it makes more sense for everyone if btc-e stays alive. The US gets a cut and can lay down the law and I'm sure btc-e wants to re-open and carry on earning legitimate money. These are smart people, and this isn't a hack.

Good business and smart negotiation will probably prevail. Hang in there guys
