So I fashioned my own power plugs with the barrel connectors and some molex adapters that came with my video card. Yellow In the + and black for the - then plugged them to a molex cable from my psu

They power my gridseeds but they don't get any accepted shares, I switched one to a regular power brick and it hashes and works fine. Any ideas?

I've had it probably 2 to 2.5 weeks, but only really used it maybe 24hrs. I'm looking for a little more than .165, thats about $100 when i paid about $175 but its basically new. I'll add pictures of it on Thursday since im on spring break and not at my house.

Bummer, these are 149 new. I understand you've only used it a day or so but not sure how much higher I could go, maybe .175?

Overall my experience with Zoomhash has been a nightmare so far.  I have had several issues with my orders.  Here is the timeline of events:

Ordered 20 Gridseed miners off Ebay on 3/6 and paid via papal immediately.
Didn't get any communication at all from Zoomhash so I messaged them on 3/11 asking about the status of my order.  They said there was a delay in shipping because they were scared of Ebay fraud, but told me I was going to get a partial refund for the delay.  They said my order would ship out the next day.  At this point I cut a deal to buy 40 more Gridseed units via BTC.
One of my orders shipped out on 3/12 and the other one on 3/13, both from China.  I received all 60 units on 3/17.
My order only came with 40 USB cables instead of 60 so now I have 20 miners just sitting around.  Also one of my units has an incorrect female power port so I cant fit a barrel connector in it.
I sent a PM to Zoomhash on 3/17 explaining the issues with my orders and that I did not yet receive the partial refund they originally promised for my Ebay order.
Shortly after I receive a PM from someone working at Zoomhash for my BTC address so I gave it to them and they sent me a partial refund for less than half the amount I was originally promised.  Nothing was mentioned about my missing USB cables and defective miner.
This morning (3/18) I sent an email to Zoomhash and have not heard anything from them all day.

So now I have no idea if I should just go order USB cables on my own or wait  Cry

USB cables are like 50 cents each, just get em at monoprice

I factor in the return on my other rigs paying these off for me, so if your already mining and can take a few week hit letting your other rigs work to pay these off you'll be fine

I'm running all of my cards currently @ 825 Kh/s, these things are beasts!!

Don't lie... these are great cards but they will not reach that speed.

I've got one hashing at 813kh been rock solid

As per your suggestion, I ordered shrink tubing.  I agree it would look more professional and work better.  Thanks!

Good decision. I also saw your cables on eBay when looking for a way to power my gridseeds and the electrical tape and blurry photos turned me away  Undecided

yeah the blurry photos turned me away too, not to beat a dead horse here as I'm sure the OP means well Smiley

Is it only me or profitability was really low for last ~24 hours? Pointing 15MH to it, got around 0.06 BTC.

For some reason profitability on junk coins keeps declining.

We need more coins! Smiley

M

yes more coins and more Doge style pump and dump's
955  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Introduction to DualMiner USB (could mine both BTC and LTC) on: March 17, 2014, 06:01:37 AM
has anyone successfully been able to get 10 dualminers on an orico or etekcity 10 port powered hub?

also has anyone been able to get more than 4 dualminers working with the modified cgminer that's out for these things? I can get it working with 4 but any more than that and cgminer crashes
Please follow the guide in my signature if you are having trouble running your DMs. Only 9 DMs are stable on orico p10-u2 hubs. Using the cgminer build from github I am running 99 units.

so you changed all the ports to the USB ports using Zadig and can get more than 4 units to launch in cgminer?

hmm, maybe its because im on windows.. aren't you un raspberry pi?
I have had success with dualminer's github custom cgminer in Raspbian and Ubuntu. I have had success running larger arrays in Windows but I have only found stability for very large arrays in linux. Are you using the windows client with cgminer and a GUI from dualminer.com, or are you using the cgminer from dualminer github?

using the one from dualminer.com and noticing one of my dualminers constantly goes idle.. even If there's only 9 on my orico hub this one will still go idle.  I am now trying this unit straight into my PC's usb port and the other 9 on the orico to see if it still goes idle again

also I tried the modified cgminer 3.5.0 from http://cryptomining-blog.com/1222-download-cgminer-3-5-0-for-dualminer-usb-scrypt-mining-on-windows/

but couldn't get it to launch with more than 4 devices (cgminer would crash with an error when I tried 5 or more)

I am getting a raspberry pi tomorrow for some gridseed unit's I've got coming.. do you know if its possible to run gridseed 5 chip units along side the dualminers within the raspberry pi? (on 2 orico hubs)

958  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: Group Buy Gridseed 5 Chip $175 Low!!! Worldwide shipping on: March 16, 2014, 04:02:45 PM
Will be posting a simple DIY guide for making your own cables for these units soon. If you have a bunch of molex or pci-e laying around from your GPU days you can use them to help power the Gridseed units.

Look forward to this, when will u post it?

I have 10 in an Orico 10 port hub, 1 of them always goes idle after awhile. always the same one no matter what usb port on the hub I try. ive tried pll 850, 800, and no pll at all.. same situation

any ideas?

I have a Etekcity (an Orico clone) and could not get 10 to work. 9, however, work just fine. Use the 10th port to link to another hub.

Was your doing same thig? Going idle after awhile?

Which mode are you running in? Single or dual? Fan or no fan?

LTC mode with USB fan pointed at them
