941  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is marriage a kind of punishment? on: February 12, 2023, 08:21:11 PM
I am working on an article on relationships and marriages. In my part of the world marriage feels like punishment on the female gender. In the days of old as I learnt, it was the responsibility of the man to provide and protect the family but in today’s society, men relax and have the women do almost everything. I observed this most in Nigeria or African. women grow old faster once married. I take instances from my neighbours, family and the society. The man on any day wakes up, take his bath, dress up, eat and off to work if he has one. The woman is the cook, launder, housekeeper, nanny, hand lady, errand girl, cleaner, and she must be working etc. just name it and she must not complain, she must not be tired. For real this is happening don’t think am just assuming. I see it live. Why is it so? I once asked a man in this case, why he maltreats his wife like a slave and he said no reasonable man is allowed to do house chores or assist in anything. The work of the man is to bring money that’s all. Can this be true?  Will you like your sisters, daughters, neighbours, friend  be treated badly in the name of marriage? Let’s talk. No abuses or insult please. I need soul lifting contribution.

If all they think they need to provide is money in marriage they are sadly mistaken and most likely a terrible husband. The whole point of marriage is to sacrifice for your spouse and provide and be a team player in every aspect. If you’re making the money you also can’t just have that be all you are is a money printer. It all depends on how the husband wants their relationship to be with their spouse. If they don’t care they treat them like shit, that’s wrong. On every level. If anything the wife’s job of raising children and running a household is harder than working and making all the money. You try and manage all your kids and households affairs 24/7 and I guarantee you will be begging your wife to take all that responsibility and work back and praising her for all she does. You should be praising your wife and uplifting her in every instance, regardless if you think you’re the shit and doing everything, you’re not, and you need to do more. Starting with being emotionally available to your wife to listen to what she needs and actively trying to make her situation and very hard and taxing job, physically and emotionally, much easier.

I am curious. How many of you also stack gold and silver in addition to BTC as a hedge for inflation?
943  Economy / Collectibles / Thinking of creating a silver poured DIY or Loaded 1ozt and 2ozt silver rounds! on: February 12, 2023, 08:08:54 PM
If I were to do this, and say collaborate with someone who can generate the keys to place on the back of a silver pour would anyone be interested? Maybe loaded with .001 BTC. Can anyone recommend a good partner for key generation who would be interested in partnering up? I will post a pic later of the design. Would do a limited mintage of 10 on these most likely (possibly increase the mintage if there is more interest) with a reasonable price point. I have been pouring silver for 6 years  Grin

Interested members: Hookzup1, Markzellers, Frank AlpenCoin, Humble Bitcoiners, sweeteye, 2stout, 1 for myself, possibly one for Mopar, and I will keep this list open to any other members and update the mintage accordingly on this first run based on interest.
944  Bitcoin / Wallet software / HODL Wallet for BTC on: February 12, 2023, 08:03:21 PM
Does anyone on here use? I think it’s great and a very simple user face. Please let me know if you are using this app. Perfect free app / place to store a small amount of funds. I always recommend for newbies. If a Mod can please move this to software wallets, I just realized I was in the wrong thread. Thanks!
945  Other / Meta / Re: Ranking up in Btalk - How does it work? on: February 12, 2023, 07:57:25 PM
2018-2023, 5 years running on Bitcointalk, weird, I dunno.

I read the OP's post several times because it seemed to me that he was not serious with his question and it seemed to me that he was confused with the threads bumps in some parts of the forum. If a Senior member is confused about some basic features of the forum, don't be surprised by beginners who seem lost in their first days or weeks.

By the way, it's a bit strange to me that the OP has the will to ask such questions, considering that he didn't exactly have the best week in his life - he allegedly lost his job and a close friend, which would have much more serious consequences for me personally - but I'm glad that he still looks at life on the bright side.

Yes, it has been quite a rough week. Disregard this ignorant post. All the answers were there, I just needed to look. Was mainly confused on the super bumps. I came across some thread that really laid everything so good a while back but forgot about it. In terms of ranking up I of course know how that works and have been fortunate to get some good merits for my posts. I want to contribute more to this forum in a wholesome way. So please excuse me and any rants that I make or ones seemly very stupid 😂 I’m trying to sort out a lot of things in my life right now, but I appreciate all of your comments! The ranking system on here is very legit, and I like it a lot.
946  Other / Politics & Society / Re: CHINA BALOON SHOT DOWN IN US on: February 12, 2023, 03:01:54 AM
The China spy balloon is sort of old news now.  People are now talking about the UFO balloon shot down over Alaska, apparently in a place called cumtown.  Cumtown was then trending on Twitter, which is pretty funny if you think about it.  Still no word on whether the UFC is aliens or another spy balloon or possibly an actual weather balloon.  It does seem that instead of a circular white balloon, this one was a cyndrical silver object, which makes it somewhat unique.  I am concerned that China is surveying our military bases and shooting down green lasers from their satellites.  Hopefully that's fine.

Yeah, and another object shot down by a US fighter jet in Canada today! So wild. The green lasers thing is wild, matrix type stuff here. And then silver object that sounds like a UFO. Wtf is happening in this world we live in lmao
947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Superbowl Bets Discussion- Eagles or Chiefs? on: February 11, 2023, 09:47:45 PM
I would have to agree with the Vegas odds on this one.  I think the Eagles are the ones that are going to come home with the trophy.  I don't watch much football, so this is mostly the opinions of my friends who do.  I do have a couple die hard Chiefs fans, but they aren't really football fans as much as they are from Kansas...  So I'm not going to place a crazy bet or anything, but I will be searching for a nice plate of nachos and possibly some chili dogs to go with a nice beer and a comfortable seat to watch the game.

Here in Phoenix the town is starting to see some action.  Looked like an alien invasion last night with all the helicopters flying around.

Honestly I’d have to agree with you on this and with and ralle. The Eagles could very well possibly win the bowl game! I recently came across a new connection in an English pub who has a gambling hussle. Anyways they gave me $50 to bet for free, so I might as well throw $100 at it and try and get a nice bag for the bowl game, let’s see what happens!! And that’s great to hear about the influx of people on Phoenix getting ready for the game this weekend! That sounds exciting.

949  Other / Serious discussion / Re: Crazy week. I lost a dear friend and I lost my job on: February 11, 2023, 09:37:05 PM
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend Justin. That must have been a terrible shock and a huge loss for you. Losing someone close is never easy and it takes a long time to heal. You should be proud of yourself for holding onto that unexplainable peace during such a difficult time. Justin was a positive influence in your life, and it's great that he was able to bring so much encouragement and positivity into your life in such a short amount of time. May his memory live on and bring comfort to his family and loved ones.

As for your job loss, I can understand that it must have been a tough decision for you, but it's good to know that you have a plan and are actively looking for opportunities. You are right, it's important to do what you love and to surround yourself with people you care about. Starting a business or finding a better job could be a great opportunity for you to find more happiness and fulfillment in your career. Selling life insurance on the side is also a great idea and I wish you the best of luck in your job search.

It sounds like you have a positive attitude towards the future and that you are excited for what's to come. That's a great mindset to have, especially during difficult times. Remember, this is just the beginning of a new chapter, and you never know what amazing opportunities and relationships await you. Please keep us updated on your journey and don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything.

Take care, and lots of love to you.

To your first part on Justin, Amen 🙏 thank you man those are very kind words. Still so hard to believe someone can throw their life away in an instant and not even fully comprehend what they’re doing because they’re on drugs.

I didn’t really have a choice and in honesty I was fired. Being laid off just sounds so much better doesn’t it? I wish i was laid off I would have a severance package. I feel like I definitely deserve one with all I have done for that company, but they were fine to let me go even so. It’s unfortunate but its honestly a blessing too because I really dreaded that job.  Despite being an attendee at Presidents club in November and still closing business a lot of business up until my firing it all comes down to the numbers they said. I’ve been there for 7 years, and my tenure had no weigh in this decision. I believe I was fired because a certain Bitcoin ATM company stopped paying their bills and pretty much cost my company 3.5 million dollars. That same company being my franchise partner for a BTM. The last 6 months of my life have been a whirlwind to day the least! I had to pivot and find a new partner for my ATM, which is set to launch next week. Life insurance has been good hitting it hard and setting appointments so that’s good. I am considering starting a pressure washing business in my neighborhood where the HOA has now made it a requirement to pressure wash the driveway and there are 400 houses in my community. I have confidence that I can take advantage of the opportunity. I have been hard at work so I have not been on here as much as usual. But I can tell you that I am most definitely positive and trying to seize the day every day! There is a light at the end of the tunnel after all, I do believe it. I will keep you guys posted with the progress. Your support means the world.
950  Other / Meta / Ranking up in Btalk - How does it work? on: February 11, 2023, 09:28:57 PM
I know about the pumps. Or bumps? Super pumps? Super bumps? That is if you are consistently posting your rank goes higher and higher? Shoot, I need to just ask Chat GPT 😂 would love the feedback though. I’ll admit I’ve been on here for years and still don’t fully understand how it all works. Someone can you please post the thread for it? Thanks!

952  Other / Politics & Society / Corporate America is the greatest threat to Capitalism, $ preservation, and tax on: February 10, 2023, 11:43:00 PM
Honestly, why would you want to take a 40% tax cut working for corporate America and paying Uncle Sam top dollar when you can get a 1099 as an independent contractor in pretty much any industry/trade as an agency and utilize tax write offs on basically everything you spend money on. I mean not everything but most things you can write off. Stretching your dollar as far as you can within the legal tax code is how the rich get richer. Mostly utilizing real estate, and tax savings vehicles like life insurance cash value policies, etc. Does anyone have any great tips or tricks for maximizing your tax returns? American income tax is complete bs.
953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Life Insurance on: February 10, 2023, 11:33:47 PM
There won't be any "life insurance". If you coins are lost, it is lost. It was your responsibility to make sure your coins are safe and backups are made properly. You should have done proper research before making any kind of investment. Even if "insurance" does exist, in this you will likely need to rely on a third party centralized organization which completely destroys the "decentralization"  concept of decentralized crypto currencies.
You should always invest at your own risk and take care of your own funds. If you can't, then crypto currencies aren't for you. You should stick to banks and institutes that will have full control over your assets and funds while in return insuring everything.

Perhaps it is better to insure the Bitcoin/s instead. This would be very challenging due to the volatility in the price but honestly wouldn’t hurt. I’m sure there could be ways for insurers to do this. If you insure it just like a life insurance policy some way, maybe this is something we will see insurance companies starting to do with all of these scams happening lately...
954  Economy / Gambling discussion / ATP Delray Beach Open 2023 takes place between February 10-19th. on: February 10, 2023, 11:28:24 PM
Will anyone on here betting on tennis? I am planning on attending one of these matches next week, perhaps I will make a bet. I found this insight online: https://footballpink.net/delray-beach-open-odds/
955  Other / Serious discussion / Crazy week. I lost a dear friend and I lost my job on: February 05, 2023, 03:31:34 AM
Its wild to think that so much can happen in one week. Someone that was near and dear to me passed form a fentanyl overdose, which is just so wild to me and i'm still in shock. Someone who I thought had their ish together too. On top of that I unfortunately was laid off from my job on Friday.

I have a very unexplainable peace in this time. I feel like most people might not feel the same way that I do about all of this. Of course I am crushed by the loss of my friend, Justin. The best way I can describe my relationship with him is also found in scripture in the bible, "Iron sharpens Iron" RIP Justin I know that he is with God in heaven now. He gave me more encouragement and spoke so much positivity into my life, more so than most of the people that i've known, and in such a short amount of time. May God be with his family and loved ones.

As far as my job, I knew it was coming so this did give me some time to prepare. As far as the future right now, it is very uncertain. What I will say though is that I do believe that it is a blessing in disguise. I really didn't love my job, I hated it actually. What tied me down was the money, of course. I have a family to provide for. But now I have applied for unemployment which will give me some time to figure out what I am going to do. Maybe start a business, or find a much better job with better pay. Certainly I will be selling some life insurance on the side, since I have my license to do so. I also have things that I can sell, so thats good. Its just a job. There a soooo many jobs out there, so I'm not worried about that.

Mostly I just want to do something meaningful, something that I love and care about. I'd love to do it with people that I also care about and can form deeper relationships with. That is what is most important in this life. Its not money, its not the job. Its about being happy and forming amazing relationships with people you care about. Hopefully, if you're lucky you can manage to kill two birds with one stone and find your dream job working alongside your best friends. I know its out there, and i'm searching for it.

Lots of emotions have been felt this week. Leaving a career of 7 years, and losing a dear friend all in the same week. It really puts things into perspective for you. Don't let your job define you because it can be replaced, also you're not promised tomorrow! Wild ride. But now is just the beginning of a new chapter, a new journey. And I am excited, I am ready, and I will be looking forward to whatever the future holds. Please wish me luck as I continue in my job search, and morn the loss of my friend.

Lets make every day count this year in 2023! Remember anything can change in an instant, and today you could take your last breath. So don't waste it. Thats all I have for now, but thank you in advance to anyone who read this. I welcome all thoughts and comments. Please be respectful. Thank you.

Cheers,

956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can anyone tell me what is the best way to gamble w/ BTC on online casinos? on: February 05, 2023, 03:07:26 AM
Strictly for Bitcoin, is there a list of the best online gambling casinos and their corresponding pros/cons of using?

I am asking because I don't quite have all the experience in the world and the people in these threads seem to be the most savvy on this.

What have you found works best? What does not work? I guess I am looking for a sort of "cheat sheet" if you will. If that even exists.

Have a great night everyone.

958  Economy / Collectibles / Re: What crypto coin/wallet/product are you most eager for? + Bonus Question below on: February 03, 2023, 02:10:25 PM
Interested in seeing what 1Hodlclub and BTCC release this year, I don't know what if any they have planned,

My favorite collectables are not coins, more slabs - BTCC titanium blocks and of course Kialara

BTCC stopped producing physical crypto items in 2018
Thats a shame, just about everything they released was beautiful.
I took a crypto break for a few years, so still catching up.

I will change BTCC to Cardsmith Currency cards, series 2  Grin (hopefully, series 1 sells out soon and we see series 2)

Welcome back! I am a big fan of the slabs, particularly those Alpen 1,000,000 sats the gold one and the 500,000 silver series but of course the Kialara is classic and the creme de la creme of the bars. Also of course the Cass ones, i've seen the microsoul ones that look in credible.

Speaking of rectangular crypto related objects those Cardsmith cards are so fun! I bought a bunch of packs off of MJ when they first came out and had a ball opening them, such beautiful art and holos. Was lucky enough to pull some numbered cards, and I love the chance at hitting a crypto redemption card. I ended up selling a large set of the common cards and just kept all the holos for myself in my card binder. I'll look forward to the series 2 as well. Need to get my hands on some more of series 1 before they sell out!!
959  Economy / Speculation / Re: YTD Bitcoin Chart Vibes on: February 03, 2023, 02:02:12 PM

We are all going to be hosting our own parties soon sparing no expense because Bitcoin is going parabolic!

$1,500,000 per BTC soon. Its coming, by 2030? When maybe 2045? Who knows!? But I believe that it is coming!!
Sounds like it's too far to wait mate, as there is plenty of time and good things to be enjoyed by everyone before then. Besides, I personally prefer to see a four-year cycle in Bitcoin than a seven-year or more than once-fifteen year cycle, that's really long for me to wait and see the magic you say. I have absolutely no doubts about Bitcoin for this, but an increase in the price in the market for Bitcoin will always be colored by corrections and each correction always takes more time to rise again.

Agreed! But true bitcoins are really in it for the long game anyways, savvy? It will take time, and at times it will be brutal, and other times it will be epic. If you play the market right you can make money both ways, but i've never been one to do that. Although I wish I would take a chance with that. I think its just anxiety provoking doing that moving large amounts of funds to exchanges or elsewhere in hopes to trade and make a profit. I have always stuck to the HODLing approach and steady stacking myself. Nothing wrong with a little wishful thinking though. Of course, there is no guarantee that this will ever happen but I will say that it surely will be one crazy ride if it does!
960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your earliest Gambling Story? on: February 03, 2023, 01:54:42 PM
I'll tell you mine. I was 16 on a Royal Caribbean cruise with my parents. I took $10 from dads wallet and went out on the town  Wink I stopped into the casino on deck, worked that $10 in to a $20 in the coin machine. Then I went to the roulette table and doubled my money 3 times and got up to $160, then I bet it all on black and lost it all! Or wait, was it red? Oh I don't remember hahah. They did come around and bring me plenty of drinks. Luckily I looked old enough to be in there, was even 6 feet tall back then, athletic, football player. I made the cut. Fun times! Learned a very valuable lesson there though. This is why I don't gamble. What's a good gambling story that you'd like to share? Hit the comments section! Thanks guys.

    -   It's a pity, it should be a win but you don't stop because you're terrified of thinking that luck won't go away from you, so luck didn't agree with you but bad luck agreed with you hehe...

Next time, op, don't allow greed in your mind, and don't let your emotions get too much. When you see that you have won 1000 with your small capital, stop immediately, just like what the others did with discipline.

Yeah, should have been a big win and taken the chips, but I was young and stupid and didn't know that my luck would run out as I was so inexperienced and it was my first time. I was on a hot streak with doubling my money and I remember thinking after I lost it all in one foul sweep that I should have stuck to the $40 bets after I got to the $160 range to have more chances to increase the money. Hindsight is always 2020! But even though I lost, I really only lost the $10 I initially took from my dad's wallet. I'm sure he would get a kick out of this story, i've never told him but now plan on it. I also still owe him $10 hahahah The first doubling from the $10 to $20 was the most fun part for me though. It was one of those coin machines that you drop the coin in and there is this moving horizontal bar that moves back and forth pushing the coins up and they fall over into a bed and you try to move the coins in such a way to win the cash prize that's sitting on top of all those coins. Hopefully you know what i'm talking about that, I want to find another one of those machines that was so much fun haha

See that's just it, it was greed that ultimately won that day. But not winning the money actually saved me a lot because to this day I have not ever had a problem with gambling, nor have I sought out to go and gamble at a casino. Maybe here or there once in a blue moon I'd buy a $1 or $2 scratch off ticket, or drop a few bucks in a slot machine in an airport or something. Really the only gambling I do now is with Fantasy football but even that is no more than $100 a year.
