941  Other / Politics & Society / Corporate America is the greatest threat to Capitalism, $ preservation, and tax on: February 10, 2023, 11:43:00 PM
Honestly, why would you want to take a 40% tax cut working for corporate America and paying Uncle Sam top dollar when you can get a 1099 as an independent contractor in pretty much any industry/trade as an agency and utilize tax write offs on basically everything you spend money on. I mean not everything but most things you can write off. Stretching your dollar as far as you can within the legal tax code is how the rich get richer. Mostly utilizing real estate, and tax savings vehicles like life insurance cash value policies, etc. Does anyone have any great tips or tricks for maximizing your tax returns? American income tax is complete bs.
942  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Life Insurance on: February 10, 2023, 11:33:47 PM
There won't be any "life insurance". If you coins are lost, it is lost. It was your responsibility to make sure your coins are safe and backups are made properly. You should have done proper research before making any kind of investment. Even if "insurance" does exist, in this you will likely need to rely on a third party centralized organization which completely destroys the "decentralization"  concept of decentralized crypto currencies.
You should always invest at your own risk and take care of your own funds. If you can't, then crypto currencies aren't for you. You should stick to banks and institutes that will have full control over your assets and funds while in return insuring everything.

Perhaps it is better to insure the Bitcoin/s instead. This would be very challenging due to the volatility in the price but honestly wouldn’t hurt. I’m sure there could be ways for insurers to do this. If you insure it just like a life insurance policy some way, maybe this is something we will see insurance companies starting to do with all of these scams happening lately...
943  Economy / Gambling discussion / ATP Delray Beach Open 2023 takes place between February 10-19th. on: February 10, 2023, 11:28:24 PM
Will anyone on here betting on tennis? I am planning on attending one of these matches next week, perhaps I will make a bet. I found this insight online: https://footballpink.net/delray-beach-open-odds/
944  Other / Serious discussion / Crazy week. I lost a dear friend and I lost my job on: February 05, 2023, 03:31:34 AM
Its wild to think that so much can happen in one week. Someone that was near and dear to me passed form a fentanyl overdose, which is just so wild to me and i'm still in shock. Someone who I thought had their ish together too. On top of that I unfortunately was laid off from my job on Friday.

I have a very unexplainable peace in this time. I feel like most people might not feel the same way that I do about all of this. Of course I am crushed by the loss of my friend, Justin. The best way I can describe my relationship with him is also found in scripture in the bible, "Iron sharpens Iron" RIP Justin I know that he is with God in heaven now. He gave me more encouragement and spoke so much positivity into my life, more so than most of the people that i've known, and in such a short amount of time. May God be with his family and loved ones.

As far as my job, I knew it was coming so this did give me some time to prepare. As far as the future right now, it is very uncertain. What I will say though is that I do believe that it is a blessing in disguise. I really didn't love my job, I hated it actually. What tied me down was the money, of course. I have a family to provide for. But now I have applied for unemployment which will give me some time to figure out what I am going to do. Maybe start a business, or find a much better job with better pay. Certainly I will be selling some life insurance on the side, since I have my license to do so. I also have things that I can sell, so thats good. Its just a job. There a soooo many jobs out there, so I'm not worried about that.

Mostly I just want to do something meaningful, something that I love and care about. I'd love to do it with people that I also care about and can form deeper relationships with. That is what is most important in this life. Its not money, its not the job. Its about being happy and forming amazing relationships with people you care about. Hopefully, if you're lucky you can manage to kill two birds with one stone and find your dream job working alongside your best friends. I know its out there, and i'm searching for it.

Lots of emotions have been felt this week. Leaving a career of 7 years, and losing a dear friend all in the same week. It really puts things into perspective for you. Don't let your job define you because it can be replaced, also you're not promised tomorrow! Wild ride. But now is just the beginning of a new chapter, a new journey. And I am excited, I am ready, and I will be looking forward to whatever the future holds. Please wish me luck as I continue in my job search, and morn the loss of my friend.

Lets make every day count this year in 2023! Remember anything can change in an instant, and today you could take your last breath. So don't waste it. Thats all I have for now, but thank you in advance to anyone who read this. I welcome all thoughts and comments. Please be respectful. Thank you.

Cheers,

945  Economy / Gambling discussion / Can anyone tell me what is the best way to gamble w/ BTC on online casinos? on: February 05, 2023, 03:07:26 AM
Strictly for Bitcoin, is there a list of the best online gambling casinos and their corresponding pros/cons of using?

I am asking because I don't quite have all the experience in the world and the people in these threads seem to be the most savvy on this.

What have you found works best? What does not work? I guess I am looking for a sort of "cheat sheet" if you will. If that even exists.

Have a great night everyone.

947  Economy / Collectibles / Re: What crypto coin/wallet/product are you most eager for? + Bonus Question below on: February 03, 2023, 02:10:25 PM
Interested in seeing what 1Hodlclub and BTCC release this year, I don't know what if any they have planned,

My favorite collectables are not coins, more slabs - BTCC titanium blocks and of course Kialara

BTCC stopped producing physical crypto items in 2018
Thats a shame, just about everything they released was beautiful.
I took a crypto break for a few years, so still catching up.

I will change BTCC to Cardsmith Currency cards, series 2  Grin (hopefully, series 1 sells out soon and we see series 2)

Welcome back! I am a big fan of the slabs, particularly those Alpen 1,000,000 sats the gold one and the 500,000 silver series but of course the Kialara is classic and the creme de la creme of the bars. Also of course the Cass ones, i've seen the microsoul ones that look in credible.

Speaking of rectangular crypto related objects those Cardsmith cards are so fun! I bought a bunch of packs off of MJ when they first came out and had a ball opening them, such beautiful art and holos. Was lucky enough to pull some numbered cards, and I love the chance at hitting a crypto redemption card. I ended up selling a large set of the common cards and just kept all the holos for myself in my card binder. I'll look forward to the series 2 as well. Need to get my hands on some more of series 1 before they sell out!!

We are all going to be hosting our own parties soon sparing no expense because Bitcoin is going parabolic!

$1,500,000 per BTC soon. Its coming, by 2030? When maybe 2045? Who knows!? But I believe that it is coming!!
Sounds like it's too far to wait mate, as there is plenty of time and good things to be enjoyed by everyone before then. Besides, I personally prefer to see a four-year cycle in Bitcoin than a seven-year or more than once-fifteen year cycle, that's really long for me to wait and see the magic you say. I have absolutely no doubts about Bitcoin for this, but an increase in the price in the market for Bitcoin will always be colored by corrections and each correction always takes more time to rise again.

Agreed! But true bitcoins are really in it for the long game anyways, savvy? It will take time, and at times it will be brutal, and other times it will be epic. If you play the market right you can make money both ways, but i've never been one to do that. Although I wish I would take a chance with that. I think its just anxiety provoking doing that moving large amounts of funds to exchanges or elsewhere in hopes to trade and make a profit. I have always stuck to the HODLing approach and steady stacking myself. Nothing wrong with a little wishful thinking though. Of course, there is no guarantee that this will ever happen but I will say that it surely will be one crazy ride if it does!
949  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is your earliest Gambling Story? on: February 03, 2023, 01:54:42 PM
I'll tell you mine. I was 16 on a Royal Caribbean cruise with my parents. I took $10 from dads wallet and went out on the town  Wink I stopped into the casino on deck, worked that $10 in to a $20 in the coin machine. Then I went to the roulette table and doubled my money 3 times and got up to $160, then I bet it all on black and lost it all! Or wait, was it red? Oh I don't remember hahah. They did come around and bring me plenty of drinks. Luckily I looked old enough to be in there, was even 6 feet tall back then, athletic, football player. I made the cut. Fun times! Learned a very valuable lesson there though. This is why I don't gamble. What's a good gambling story that you'd like to share? Hit the comments section! Thanks guys.

    -   It's a pity, it should be a win but you don't stop because you're terrified of thinking that luck won't go away from you, so luck didn't agree with you but bad luck agreed with you hehe...

Next time, op, don't allow greed in your mind, and don't let your emotions get too much. When you see that you have won 1000 with your small capital, stop immediately, just like what the others did with discipline.

Yeah, should have been a big win and taken the chips, but I was young and stupid and didn't know that my luck would run out as I was so inexperienced and it was my first time. I was on a hot streak with doubling my money and I remember thinking after I lost it all in one foul sweep that I should have stuck to the $40 bets after I got to the $160 range to have more chances to increase the money. Hindsight is always 2020! But even though I lost, I really only lost the $10 I initially took from my dad's wallet. I'm sure he would get a kick out of this story, i've never told him but now plan on it. I also still owe him $10 hahahah The first doubling from the $10 to $20 was the most fun part for me though. It was one of those coin machines that you drop the coin in and there is this moving horizontal bar that moves back and forth pushing the coins up and they fall over into a bed and you try to move the coins in such a way to win the cash prize that's sitting on top of all those coins. Hopefully you know what i'm talking about that, I want to find another one of those machines that was so much fun haha

See that's just it, it was greed that ultimately won that day. But not winning the money actually saved me a lot because to this day I have not ever had a problem with gambling, nor have I sought out to go and gamble at a casino. Maybe here or there once in a blue moon I'd buy a $1 or $2 scratch off ticket, or drop a few bucks in a slot machine in an airport or something. Really the only gambling I do now is with Fantasy football but even that is no more than $100 a year.

952  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Being Lonely drives you towards Gambling....! on: January 31, 2023, 08:58:01 PM
Does anybody have this experience or this is happening with me. Most of my gambling losses have taken place when I feel lonely.
Today one such incident have taken place. I've kept my last few weeks signature earning aside to meet some medical needs. Today my mother got hospitalised and I'm her attender. She is supposed to take a minor surgery as her vision isn't clear. She's been taken to the Operation Theatre and I was left alone in the room. If anything required the nursing staff would call me. By thos time my mind didn't think about anything. All of the sudden why don't you gamble? and I started and made 0.009BTC close to 0.01BTC and the greed didn't left me. Finally lost all my month's earning kept aside.

Through this I would like to remind be careful when you are alone. If your mind wish to gamble, go for it. But don't consider it as a way to pass your time and keep on wagering. The outcome might hurt, because most of the time loneliness is felt when our mind is in a bad mood. Some enjoy being lonely, but the reality used to be different.

I'm very sorry to hear about your loneliness OP, and especially sorry about your mothers hospitalization. I will certainly say a prayer for you and your mother. I hope that you can find some hope in the word of God, AKA The Holy Bible. I have found that through a course called Life Essentials that gambling is a form of addiction that comes from some sort of brokenness in our past. Perhaps you should go back and hash out some of what your past and what you have been through and that will help, I know it helped me, albeit I will warn you that this is a painful process but it could possibly help you? Not certainly doesn't seem like a time to gamble, especially when there are medical bills that need to be paid, etc. I hope you figure it out!
953  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Life Insurance on: January 31, 2023, 08:50:33 PM
This is a topic that’s been brought up quite a few time over the years and there’s even been books written about “Bitcoin succession planning”.  I made a post about this in the collectibles sections as fancy cold wallets like that are very hard to know how to sell when someone passes away. There’s really a pretty easy solution to all of this and that’s having a proper will set up and have directions on how to access your coins in case of passing away. Make sure your loved ones know where to find the directions is all.

Well said m8. I agree, a will is really all that is needed here. I think it is also note worthy the importance of having the proper executor of the estate who is trustworthy to distribute all assets accordingly.

Honestly, something like a BTC or Crypto Insurance Policy though wouldn't be a terrible idea for people who hold $$$ on exchanges, even temporarily in the event of a sudden hack. More so, exchanges in general should have that insurance, although i'm sure its very difficult to get if they can even get it at all.
954  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Joe Biden is a senile, old Bitch on: January 31, 2023, 08:39:50 PM
I literally just laughed out loud, I just posted something a lot less loud in the subject line but its basically along the same lines ahhahha

The answer is simply that he is tolerated as the old grandpa who hasn't got a clue where he is. Joe is controlled, he is clearly in the early stages of dementia
955  Other / Politics & Society / America's beloved Grandpa, Joe Biden *Political Satire* on: January 31, 2023, 08:35:10 PM
Forget about Uncle Sam, have you heard of Grandpa Joe? LOL

Seriously though, its embarrassing as a Nation to have a leader who doesn't have a clue where he is half of the time!

Say all you will about Donald Trump but at least he is cognitively present, Joe is wearing Depends!!!!!

Look, lets all just agree on one thing. Ron Desantis for President 2024, can I get an Amen?

957  Other / Meta / Hypothetical Btalk Forum App Version/ Social Media features? on: January 31, 2023, 04:23:30 PM
Its all in the name really "Simple Machines" you see it every time you login. I know that this would never happen, but could you imagine if BTalk had an application on your phone? Now, would that throw a good wrench into the current ad rev or a bad one? Simply for the notifications and keeping track of responses to your comments/posts would be much easier IMO. Would it help the forum to grow? Or would it be a very useless add on to something that already works pretty dang good just in and of itself. Probably the latter, but I'd be interested to see/know more about what has been done to make any changes, what's been done but hasn't worked, what is currently being worked on from a developmental standpoint. Is anyone aware of any significant changes that may be taking place in the near future? Just curious. I'm going to guess what's not broken won't be fixed, but again, what is there to really fix?

958  Other / Meta / Re: This forum has resources to make significant changes on: January 31, 2023, 04:15:46 PM
I don't know if you know about this but there is one great open-source project that helps people to become web developers for free and it's way better than any paid bootcamp.
I think that if anyone is interested into it, should visit the following link => https://www.theodinproject.com/about

So, why did I create this thread?
Blockchain development, bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are a very popular things today. There are a lot of people who want to build career into it. Some wants to become a developer, some wants to accept it as a means of payment and so on.
As far as I see, this forum has some reserves.
I think it will benefit the whole society if this forum spends tiny amount of money to support the development and management of the project similar to TOP (The Odin Project) that will focus on bitcoin, blockchain and cryptocurrencies and that will help people to have basics that will help them to land a job and build career.

Also, the forum where 21th century's financial revolution has begun and the forum where the most innovative and gamechanger currencies were created, shouldn't look like the 90's web page. Blame me if you want but this is the truth. Theymos shouldn't let this forum down!

The forum has a considerable amount of Bitcoin Under Management (BUM) I wonder what else Theymos has planned - right now it pays the salaries of the administration (Mods, etc.) at least I think its a paid position might not be salary but they get some sort of stipend or the likes of that. It would be EPIC to see some larger investment from the forum into something that would make bitcoin stronger and benefit strictly bitcoin, or its users. I'm sure they're working on a lot of things.....
959  Economy / Gambling discussion / Superbowl Bets Discussion- Eagles or Chiefs? on: January 31, 2023, 04:10:23 PM
Going to be a huge bowl game here, I heard Rihanna is doing the half time show (ooooooo aahhhhhhhhhh) thats always fun to watch. Also, the Kelce brothers are competing against eachother! Can you imagine being at the peak of your career headed to the superbowl and be playing against your Blood brother on the other team? What a wild game it shall be! You HAVE to bet something on this one!!!!!

Saw this article from the NY Times today: https://www.nytimes.com/2023/01/30/sports/football/super-bowl-odds-line.html

A short excerpt from that article that popped to me:

"To bet on the money line — a straightforward wager on who will win the game — Philadelphia backers must bet $130 to win $100, while Kansas City supporters bet $100 to win $110. This translates into Philadelphia being given a 54 percent chance of winning the game against Kansas City’s 46 percent chance.

Depending on where you look, the over-under on the game is around 49.5, so bookmakers are looking for more scoring than in the A.F.C. (43 points) or N.F.C. (38 points) championship games, or indeed more than in any of the divisional round games (which produced a combined 31, 37, 45 and 47 points).

If you are impatient, you can bet over-under for the first half (24) or even the first quarter (10).

What’s next for the betting line? While there might be a little more movement, the major action is probably over. “I doubt the line will flip again, but it could creep down,” DuBreuil said, perhaps settling at something closer to Philadelphia by 1 or 1.5 points. The biggest moves of any line, he said, happen early.

Unless there is disastrous news, that is. If, say, it were announced that Mahomes would miss the game, a 7-point swing would not be a surprise, DuBreuil said. In that case, the Eagles might enter the game as much as a 10-point favorite."

Hey guys!

So I am super pumped for B23 Miami! I know that there are a lot of other fun crypto themed events in the Florida area. I'm trying to figure out if there are any others that anyone else is aware of on the East/ West coast - even central FL as well. Is anyone aware of a similar post that has already done all the homework / another website that keeps track of all these events in any given region?

Cheers,
