Cheap credit is a disaster.  How can Makow possibly not understand this?  Has he been sleeping under a rock?

950  Economy / Auctions / SPECTACULAR, RARE black star sapphire mined in Thailand; 7.15cts UNTREATED on: May 17, 2012, 03:06:32 PM
There are a ton of black sapphires on eBay, but if you can buy one that is not resin-impregnated you have a real jewel.  Virtually all of the current supply in the market is treated.  I have this 7.15 carat beauty from old stock and I am proud to offer it here on the bitcoin forum.  For someone who is interested in untreated and truly rare gemstones, this is a spectacular star sapphire that is beautiful for the centerpiece in your collection or as a piece of fine heirloom-quality jewelry.

This gemstone is completely untreated.  It has not been heated or resin-impregnated.  It was mined here in Thailand in Chanthaburi province near Bangkacha mountain.  These stones are extraordinarily hard to find untreated and of such a high quality with a superb star.

Of course as with any gemstone that we offer you can order a laboratory report for this stone.  I am happy to get you a report from AIGS, GIA, GRS, Tokyo Gem Lab, Hallmark, or any other laboratory here in Bangkok.  The cost depends on the lab as each one is different.  I am confident that this stone is untreated and natural and would welcome a laboratory's opinion on the matter!

This auction starts at 125BTC.  The minimum bid increment is 1BTC, and it will run for 3 days.

Good job Mike!  Smiley

I am happy to report that my first order from them that was paid with bitcoins has arrived.  The pills just go down a lot easier knowing they are free of the taint of the global banking system.  Not a single central bank, credit card company, or payment processing company was involved and the merchant and I were able to do business directly for mutual benefit and with complete satisfaction.

960  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: 0.6.2 and Ubuntu 12.04 not playing nice on: May 16, 2012, 08:19:46 AM
The menu was available (at the top of the screen) when I was using the old version of bitcoin with 11.10, and the old version of bitcoin with 12.04, but the new version of bitcoin with 12.04 will not show a menu there at all.  It pretty much makes bitcoin useless.  I guess I either have to revert to the last bitcoin version to change my Ubuntu back to 11.10.

Any chance there will be a fix for this soon?  Or is Ubuntu compatibility pretty low on the priority list?
